Best veterinary practice I've ever experienced! Front office, back office, vet techs, and veterinarians are friendly, compassionate, and competent. I've been a client for 18 years for my cats, and they are very cat friendly - always able to put stressed kitties at ease and treat them gently. I highly recommend them. Read Less

The doctors, technicians and staff here are amazing. I have very large guardian dogs that don't always do well with strangers and these folks make going to the vet a breeze. I highly recommend them. The doctors take time to really talk to you and explain everything and answer all your questions, and the care is excellent. They also listen well and are willing to work with you, not just go by a prescribed set of rules. The front desk staff are amazingly helpful and friendly, and the technicians take time to get to know the dogs to make sure they aren't frightened or nervous. I couldn't ask for a better place to take my four-legged children. Read Less

I adopted a Cheweenie from an elderly person who could no longer care for the dog. She had an established record with him at North Paw. Thankfully, we have only had annual checkups and one dental cleaning to deal with. They always listen to my questions and give clear answers in a layman's vocabulary. The staff here is accommodating and pleasant. They always take the best care of our puppies. Boarding services are always convenient in a pinch. Our boxer is an anxious mess and while it isn't the most luxurious of accommodations we have never had an incident with him there. Consider these folks if you are looking for a good Vet in the area. North Paw - PLEASE stop these mailings ! If you had cared enough, you would have followed up on our dog Dylan's cancer last June after your blunt terminal diagnosis. Thanks to the compassion and surgical expertise of ANOTHER veterinarian hospital, Dylan lived much longer. So FYI, he passed away in the fall of 2016, and we will not need your annual wellness blood work, heart worm test or any other services for that matter. Read Less

New to the area and was recommended to North Paw by a friend who knows how OCD I am about my dogs vet! I have had phenomenal experiences with them. Just had my older dog in for minor surgery and was so impressed by the quality and their patience with my phone calls! Dr King was awesome with answering my questions and explaining procedures. We've been taking our furbabies to North Paw for 8 years and we absolutely adore them. Dr. Heffernan and Dr. Muse helped us keep our oldest healthy and comfortable for almost an additional year before we had to say goodbye, and they were wonderful during that hard process as well. Awesome people and awesome team. I am a former employee and even behind the scenes, the animals are the #1 priority (which says a lot). They truly know their profession and love the animals and clients that walk through their doors. My dog and my cat have been a client with North Paw Animal Hospital for over 5yrs. Moved here in 2008 and utilized a couple different Veterinarian Hospitals. Then we came in contact with NPAH :) I have had pets my entire life and have dealt with several other Animal Hospitals. I would encourage you to check them out for yourself. My 10 year old dog Jada is at North Paw right now only because a trespasser came into our fenced yard and she bit him. She has to stay 10 days. This has been the hardest thing not only for Jada but for our family. The staff at North Paw is doing a great job of caring for my sweet girl. They are kind enough to give me updates and deal with my "check in" calls. Dr. Muse has always taken great care of all my dogs and the awesome kennel tech Al takes time out of her day to let me know Jada is ok. My 13 yr old cat was very sick, had a very bad cold. This was on a Friday with no hours available. The staff was so helpful, they gave me advice on how to help her feel better, and even followed up a couple of days later. I highly recommend them. Read Less

We have had nothing but the best treatment for our cat at North Paw. The vets always take a lot of time with us and that is much appreciated. Recently one of the vet's returned my call at 8:30 PM in the evening, I was very impressed they would take time at that point in their day to call me back. I have nothing but great things to say about this hospital. We have moved since we first started going to the hospital and we are a bit further away now. We have talked about finding a vet closer to our home but we have received such great care that we have decided to keep going and its worth the drive for us.Read Less

Unfortunately today I had to put my 13 year-old cat to sleep today. I have to say throughout the process of taking in my sick cat, evaluating different treatment options and understanding our family's limitations the staff at North Paw was compassionate, informative and extremely helpful in making a very difficult decision. No pet owner wants to have to make life or death decisions for their pets, but being able to trust your veterinarian for honest advice and present you with all the options has been extremely valuable. I'd highly recommend North Paw and will be taking my other pets here as well. Read Less

Kaylee receives excellent care at North Paw. All of the staff treat her like family and it is obvious that they genuinely care for "my girl". Separate entrances and exam rooms for dogs and cats is beneficial. Exams are thorough and all of my questions are answered unhurriedly. The Paw Plan is a great deal - pay one annual fee for two wellness exams, two additional visits and immunizations annually, plus a discount on anything else. Inconsistent Communications by front-desk staff, Appalling kennel facilities, Sky-high prices, Long Wait times, Incompetent employees. It is with a sinking heart that my own neighborhood vet cares so little for the well-being of my dog and has no sense of urgency in recommending solutions to her care. Reasons for my URGENT APPEAL TO EVERYONE in Northern Durham County to NOT use this vet: 1) INCONSISTENT COMMUNICATIONS: Miscommunication of front desk and technical staff they charge you more for expedited services even though you are a loyal, paying and on time customer. They promise you service if you pay more but then do not provide the service. 2) UNCARING STAFF: They never learn your dog's name or gender. 3) UNKIND TECHNICIANS and VETS: They are not kind to you if you have a large dog. Techs and Doctors alike will criticize you if you have a hyper, high-energy dog. 4) INCOMPETENT FRONT DESK STAFF: If you are due a refund, the incompetent front desk staff will charge you and demand to see your bank statement because you have to prove it was not refunded. 5) APPALLING KENNEL. Dogs are not kept in an air-conditioned facility. It is dirty, grimy and not well-ventilated. No windows, hard concrete floor, filthy. Dogs are only let out twice a day!! 6) PREPARE TO WAIT ALL DAY OR SEVERAL DAYS DESPITE YOUR PET'S EMERGENCY SITUATIONS: Expect to wait a long time to see the vet. You will spend 30-40 mins congregating at the front desk (where it's unlikely you will even be greeted) then spend 20 with a technician who provides no insight, only takes notes until you have to wait again before you see a Vet. 7) OVER PRICED. You will actually save money and your sanity if you go straight to an Emergency Pet Hospital, instead of trying to make an appointment at NorthPaw and sit through the wait that will result 8) THEY LIE TO YOU. They will charge you more for expedited services then tell you, you were mistaken to believe them. Please do not support this clinic or the employees therein. It is upsetting when our pets are our children that we have to experience such uncaring, detached and duplicitous staff. Read Less

My Maxx loved everyone there they treated him with such love and caring! He loved Sarah so much and when it was his time Sarah came to our home to be with him! Couldn't find a better caring and friendly office full of girls they all went out of there way when max came in! We all miss Maxx they called him there Buddy and went out of there way to make him happy! It's been 1 month that my baby is gone but it hurts so bad I had 13 wonderful years with Maxx he gave so much! Read Less
