I brought my dog to Southpoint Animal Hospital during the Memorial Day weekend. He was brought there on a Friday, and was to be picked up on Sunday. I was told I had to pay up front for boarding. I asked the person at the counter how much, and she said $50. I proceeded to hand her my credit card, and she swiped the card for $50. She then realized she made an error, and said it was $55 instead of $50. I offered to give her the $5 in cash, and she said no worries, I just got a $5 off my bill due to her error. I again offered to pay the $5 before I left, and again she told me not to worry. When I returned to pick up my dog on Sunday, I observed someone paying to pick up their dog with their credit card. I was a little confused, because they insisted that I pay for my dog's boarding before I left. Then I was told I had a balance of $5, when the young lady who charged my credit card for $50 said she made an error, and refused to take the $5 in cash due to her error. I have 2 issues, first, don't tell me that there are no worries regarding the $5 due to your error, and then turn around and press me for $5 when I offered to pay, before I left. When I asked about their policy regarding paying for boarding up front, I was told by one of the clerks over the phone, that it is their policy to pay for boarding for Sunday pick ups, because the cash register is not open to conduct transactions on Sunday. That clearly is a blatant lie, because when I picked my dog up on Sunday, another customer was picking up their dog, and the attendant used the cash register to process her credit card. It appears to me, that there are double standards for some customers, and clearly poor business practices. My advice is to train your clerks on the appropriate fees, so you are not hounding someone after the fact over money, that was due to your attendants error, and if one person can pay for services on a Sunday pick up, then all customers should be able to pay on Sunday. $5 won't make or break me, it's the principal, and integrity goes a long way. I will definitely not use your services again.Dissatisfied Customer Read Less
