We were traveling (we are from Georgia) and needed to see a vet with our 2 dachshunds .(both have skin issues) we called and asked if we could come in, and they were so nice and said sure. The staff are amazing and very helpful. We feel welcomed and at home everyone we go. Our animals don't even mind visiting their office! The only downside is that they don't take appointments. Even though we are usually there waiting for an hour and a half plus, I still wouldn't pick anywhere else to go. Just bring a book or visit with fellow animal lovers as you wait. Took my 3 dogs here specifically for the ProHeart Injections. One of my dogs barked in the waiting room when another dog growled at him and they said MY dog was agressive and I should go out to my car. What?! We waited over 3 hours and the last hour was in an extremely hot exam room. I have never been so umcomfortable in my life and thought I was going to pass out. I can only imagine how hot my poor dogs were. Then I was told that one of the dogs had tested positive for heartworms. This would've been their 3rd injection from this vet alone and there was no lapse. I was told it was from a weight gain. Now I may not be a vet but I know that is ridiculous since there wasn't a massive weight gain in the last 6 months. They made the mistake in either not weighing the dog before giving the injection or gave the incorrect dosage. But the Tech just kept saying she didn't know what took place 6 months ago because it wasn't her. Seems to me if your place of business is treating an animal for prevention and the animal gets heartworms, it is your responsibility to fix it. I have made an appointment with another vet to take care of the heartworms and get more information before filing charges against this vet. Read Less

Very helpful and friendly. It was a long wait (~2hrs) but it was a holiday and there were tons of people, not really the staff's fault. Plus, we were able to sit in the car and they came to get us when it was our turn. No appointment necessary, walked in with a new "patient" and was ready to be seen within a few minutes. Just picked up my cat today after his surgical procedure and two night stay. He was not given his prescription food while he was there, or his prescription medication, which I provided directly to the vet in neat bags with the portions and doses required. He wasn't even given his favorite toy from the bag, it appeared to be packed the same as the day I dropped him off, I doubt they even read the letter inside. And they left him in his carrier so long today that on the drive home, he pooped himself. Now I have to shave his behind because the diarrhea won't come out and I cant get his stitches wet. I am EXTREMELY disappointed. Also, I was quoted $192 on the phone (THE ONLY REASON I CHOSE THIS VETERINARY PRACTICE) and when I got there, she said I owed $380. The phone lines are constantly busy when you try to call and check up on your animal, they say they'll call you with update in PERSON, only to deny ever having said so over the phone. It is a bad veterinary practice. It doesn't matter if they just take too many patients, or don't care about the quality of care, this is ridiculous. I absolutely wasted my money, and I hope no one else makes the mistake of going there, especially if you need to board an animal with preexisting conditions. Your animal will not be cared for appropriately, and your wallet will be emptied. Also, they say they take Care Credit, and that's the bare minimum. They don't offer the interest free repayment promotion options like NORMAL vets do. So I'm stuck with the 24.99% interest rate trying to pay back this absurd bill that I shouldn't have been charged in the first place. Read Less

Dropped our dog off on Wednesday and picked up on Monday. NOT HAPPY. They told me she would get a bath before I picked her up and asked the time I was going to be picking her up. They also told me to bring her any special toys or blankets she likes. I took her special blanket and when I picked our Lucy up this morning they couldn't find it. So that tells me it wasn't with our dog. She also did not get a bath like they said she would. This makes me question if they gave the shots I paid for. They did call me and said they found her blanket it was in the washer. Then said she was going to wash it and it be ready for pick up later today. If you found it in the washer they why would you rewash it. Doesn't make sense. So time to find a new vet. The staff is nice during the week but the weekend staff must not be the smartest. Read Less

Really awesome people here. We found one of the stray cats from our neighborhood the other night under our house not able to move. We brought him in for the weekend and my wife brought him to Pasquotank Animal Hospital yesterday. The whole staff is incredibly caring and my wife, who is easily attached, was distraught when they said he needed one leg amputated and another surgery for a break in the other leg. The cost was a burden on its own, especially when we are already caring for so many animals at home. But we were even more worried about his recovery being we aren't home nearly as often as he would need. When my wife thought there was no other option besides him being put down...The employees here stepped up and created an alternative. I'm happy to say this cat will still get to have a very happy and full life because of the staff at Pasquotank Animal Hospital. Thank you. Read Less

We have a European Doberman puppy, and needed to have his ears re-taped and no one else in the area would do it. Dr. Cooper and staff were amazing! If we weren't moving to Florida, we would definitely return as our puppies primary Vet. Very professional, courteous, and kind to my puppy. Excellent in every way! Even when dropping off my Granddog to stay for a week (I was caring for him for a little over a month, but had a week in the middle of that time I had to be gone), the Dr. Made a point of coming to the back and meet me. He also did the same when I was picking him up. They did a great job! He has a fear of lightning and thunder. I loved the fact that their vet technician made a point of keeping him as comfortable as possible. She even sat in the kennel with him cuddled up beside her for a little while, reassuring him. She has a special love for all the animals she cares for, going out offer way at times. I was very impressed with all the personnel. They are great! The vets are very knowledgable and go out of their way for their patients and their patients' humans, as well as all their employees. You can tell they all are true compassionate people that sincerely care and love for animals. You can take your babies to them without hesitation and know they will do everything possible for them. They also are very reasonable in regards to prices. We ourselves have had animals for decades and know the cost of caring for them. They do not rip their customers off like unfortunately many do. Absolutely superlative experience. I am a medical professional (for people not pets) and Pasquotank Animal Hospital thoroughly impressed me. My cat got sick and they saw me immediately. They went through a quick and thorough differential diagnosis but avoided any unnecessary tests. The treatment was inexpensive and appropriate and unlike so many doctors they also know when less is more and didn't try to overtreat the condition or upsell me on special diets, meds, etc. Absolutely will go back, wonderful experience. The staff is great, you meet the drs. The only issue is they don't take appts. Everything is walk in. It works fine if you get there early instead of later to wait. I love Dr Cooper and the way the truly care for my family pets. Read Less

I had the same experience that was not good, I was in there for almost three hours, for a 20 min check to see if my dog had mange, turns out she did, but they went ahead and did everything without even letting me know how much this would cost me!! Also the front receptionists is very rude, I had to register since it was my first visit, and when i was done filling it out the paper i went and stood at the front desk, and she served about 3 people before she got to me even though i had been waiting there first, before the the other people she served had even walked in the door! The thing about payments up front is ridiculous, my bill came to almost $250 and they expected me to pay it right there and then, Some people can afford to do that but I'm one that cant and i know I'm not the only one. Plus on there paper work it says you have 30 days to pay it if not payed at time of service, her reply to me was that it didn't apply to me because i was a first time customer! Well they should put that on the paper work also if that is the case! I strongly advise to take your pet somewhere else! Read Less
