This place is terrible. Took my dog here and they told me he couldn’t be treated. They took him to the back who knows where to try to give him a shot or whatever they were doing and supposedly tried biting them. I can’t say because I wasn’t there to see it and from my experience he has never bit anyone especially with me having a one year old. Felt weird and uncomfortable. He has had a rabies shot at cross creek hospital and it was no issue. Beware. Read Less

The very first time I went there I had a cat that needed a leg cut off I decided to put my cat down because I didn't have the money for the surgery the doctor told me he would put my cat down but about three weeks later the hospital called me and told me they had found me another cat I went to the hospital to see the cat only to learn it was my cat NAYLA I was so excited the doctor did not charge me one dollar I have been going there every since with all my pets also excellent staff and always very friendly Read Less

When we got inside the building, it smelt slightly of animal feces and urine. I was only getting my cats vaccinated, but I would never let my pets have surgery, or stay here, largely due to the smell. It makes me think that it's just not very clean. The staff is not very knowledgeable, and one woman had to wait about 30 mins for them to find her dog, who they kept saying they couldn't find. If someone said that they couldn't find my cat, I would have began freaking out. Just overall not a very comfortable place to being my little loved ones. This is the cheapest place, and you seem to get what you pay for.Read Less

The staff took very good care of my dog's needs and were very friendly. I was only living there temporarily, but had I stayed permanently, I would have continued to used them. Prices were very reasonable. The only complaint was that once I left, I misplaced my dog's paperwork and had a lot of trouble getting them to fax the complete file to my pet insurance so it could take effect before his next physical. I only hope his new vet will be able to get the paperwork he needs so my dog does not have to start all over again as if he has never been treated by a vet, and he can fax my pet's insurance company so his policy can get started for future doctor visits. I have family dogs and they tend to become aggressive towards new faces this didnt hit me until i came to them for a rabbies shot but they actually handled the situation really good they got them muzzled up and did the shot i paid and was out the door i have no complaints with Academy Read Less

Our dogs have been coming to Pet Academy since 2004. We love the staff, Dr. Lehr, the services and the continued care they have provided for our two dogs Spike and Abby. When our older dog Spike became incontinent instead of putting him to sleep one of the AMAZING staff members adopted him and is continuing to care for him. The only positive to this business is the customer service. I have always been treated with respect. However, my dog has not. He had a neuter procedure done and when I had him settled in at home, I noticed that his neck was bleeding from the cone being tied on so tightly. He also drank 3 full bowls of water when he got home- well after the anesthesia had worn off. Not to mention how timid he was; which made me feel that he was rough handled.His cone should not have been that tight and he should have been provided water. Both are unacceptable treatments for an animal that can neither defend or advocate for themselves. I would think that in a business that 'cares' for animals, his treatment would have need better.The service was complimentary due to our adoption from the animal shelter..however, I will not subject my dog to the abuse that these veterinarians consider standard procedure. This vet is awesome. They saved my dog . Seriously The vet at cross creek animal hospital told me that the tumor on his leg could not be removed by anyone except the vets at NC State Vet hospital. Dr. Lehr had removed prior tumors from my dog so I put my faith in him aND GOD as he was able to help before. My og is a 12 yr old boxer. I am happy to say that after a 2 months the tumor is removed and he he is walking. With GOD'S grace he worked a Mirical. Read Less

I want to thank Dr. Lehr and the whole staff for taking care of the girls I adopted from the shelter. I was relieved when I knew they could go there from the shelter to be spayed and not to a stranger vet. Unfortunately they are sick and have to wait to be spayed, but they gave me a room and let me spend hours with the girls while they went through testing. I didn't want them to be alone. They are home now and getting ready for their treatment in a few weeks. Thanks for all the compassion you have shown us over the last 10 years. We would never even think about going to another vet. I trust them 100% to do what is best for all 6 of my dogs. Read Less
