Animal Hospital Of Fayetteville

It was one year ago today that my husband took our beautiful English Bulldog, Bella, in to be spade at the recommendation of the female vet in Dr Garretts office. She guaranteed Bella would be well cared for and after the surgery the vet did call to say she did fine. My husband called around 4:00 to see if we could bring Bella home and the answer was no they wanted to keep her for observation. There was NO observation and Dr Garrett called us at 11:00 pm to tell us we needed to come get our dog as she was having a difficult time breathing. We went to the office, which is 1/2 hour from our home and, by the time we got there we could tell she was in major trouble so we rushed her to the overnight emergency vet, where she passed in my husbands arms. I would Never have that female vet touch one of my dogs and she didn't have the courtesy to call and tell us how sorry she was because she was the one that was sorry. Bella was in perfect health when we took her in, healthy, happy and full of life and they took that away from her and us. I would NEVER recommend this vet office to anyone again and I had previously done business with Dr Garrett for almost 50 years!!! We have been heart broken everyday since this happened and feel there was very little consideration for our Bella or our feelings since the female vet never had the courtesy to contact us and apologize. My husband has taken this VERY hard over the past year. He and Bella were inseparable. If you want to keep your pet alive I would NEVER go to this vet. They don't care about your pets well being. I recently just took my dog to this vet and was told my dog had parvo. Ok, so since this was the case I was told they had to keep him. I was fine with that. Received a phone call the next morning stating that my dog had gotten worse and recommended euthanasia as an option. The veterinarian told me they had did all they could do but since he made it through the night I felt hope. So I told her no keep giving her antibiotics. She said ok. I then asked her if I could come see him she said no. She called me back like ten minutes later saying my dog had passed. Horrible. Kind of makes me feel like she had my dog put down. He fought a hard fight and I really miss my dog. Im not speaking bad on nobody or place but speaking from experience. Read Less

Did my Dobermans ears, Dr Garrett did great on the surgery and the ears look great, but whoever wrapped and posted them wrapped them way too tight and didn't let the wound breathe so both ears got badly infected, which had to be treated by my local vet. All in all it was just a simple mistake, they're very busy up there so I definitely don't hold it against them and would use Dr Garrett again, and have recommended him to multiple people Read Less

I gave 5 star because of the surgeon Dr. Garrett! He did an AMAZING job on my 118 lb Bull Dog Diesel! Diesel came into his office with a Torn CCL, he explained to my husband exactly what we needed to do and how it needed to be done! He showed compassion and throughly instructed us about his after care! He has finally got the "CONE OF SHAME" off and is now in the resting stage for the next 6 weeks. I have used this vet ever since I have had pets. They don't charge for the visit itself! Dr. Rogers is the best doctor they have. He can be a talker but only because he wants to be thorough and explain everything to the best he can! He looks at all the options! Dr. Garret is a great surgeon but if I go in for a regular visit, I always ask for Dr. Rogers because Dr. Garret can be a little rude. Overall, it is a great office to take your pets to. I live in Sanford and they don't offer ear crop services here, so I was recommended to AHOF by a vet clinic here in Sanford. I love the way my dogs ears came out. I definitely recommend for ear crop services ! I was willing to drive and it was worth it ! Love the staff they are very friendly and informative. Read Less

In response to the review written by Hazel Rodriguez******** Per Dr Garrett***** Dr. Garrett offered to repair the simple fracture for the SAME PRICE as an amputation of $550.00 to help out your animal. You as the owner demanded amputation even though the fracture could be repaired easily with a bone plate, (One and done) and was offered to the owner at the SAME PRICE as amputation. Such an amazing place with a friendly and thorough staff. Wouldn't go anywhere else if you paid me to!!! Lindsey is the most amazing vet tech and is always going above and beyond for me, and Dr. Nevens and Dr. McLamb are the kindest and most humble veterinarians I've even had the honor of having take care of my 4 for babies. I NEVER feel rushed when I bring my fur babies in to be seen and they always make sure all my questions are being answered. They truly treat you like family there and genuinely care about the well being of you and your fur family. I will NEVER take my animals anywhere else. Everyone at that facility always has our best interests at heart, whether it's financially or for the health and well being of my fur family, and it continuously shows time after time. My poor fur baby broke her femur and after given many surgical options, we decided the best option for her and her future was to amputate. After saying whatever se wanted he would do The doctor refused to do what we asked and basically shamed and harassed us to the point where every conversation was an argument. He made it harder on us than it had to be. We just wanted what was best for her. And he refused. After keeping our baby for 3 days he finally decided to do the surgery. When we came to pick up the receptionist talked to us with disgust. Shes doing fine now adapted very well. But we're never taking her to the clinic again Read Less

I have been taking my animals to Dr. Garrett and animal hospital Fayetteville since I moved here 18 years ago. He is a top notch vet and I've trusted every single vet that's ever worked with any of my animals. I started seeing him whenever I had ferrets because he sees exotic animals. Then I took my parrot and since I've taken my dog and my two cats. Some of the staff members have been with him forever. This says something about the employer! Lori has been there a long time and so has Olga. They are always amazing when I go there. Even if they're not coming to take my animals back they come in ask how my other animals are. Two years ago one of my cats got injured somehow while I was at work. And then after seeking treatment there she ended up being diagnosed with a few more medical problems. I called the vets office late one afternoon whenever I came home from work and realized she had suddenly gone blind. They asked me to please bring her in and stayed until almost 2 hours after the vets office was close! I was very impressed with the work. I brought her in for a few more follow-ups but sadly she died very suddenly and I was devastated. When I went to pick up her ashes the girls came over and gave me a hug. They know how much I love my animals! My cat Lily had died late on Friday night so I had to take her to the emergency vet for possible treatment but as we walked in she took her last breath. So I turned her over for cremation. The after hours vet and Dr. garrets office both sent me condolence cards. One of my cats suffered a tail bite they got infected after a bite from my parrot. They attempted to save the part of the tail but it wouldn't heal and she had to have a partial tail amputation. We ended up having to go in multiple times for almost 2 months and the fees that we were charge were very reasonable. I was extremely satisfied with the care that she received there. The girls always come over and love on my dog Dakota whenever we're there. I just took her in last week a last minute appointment because She was so sick. Dr. Garrett was the one who examined her and I was surprised because usually everybody wants to see him and I usually take first available vet. I've trusted every veterinarian that has worked with him. They are all extremely compassionate and loving towards my animals. I'm so glad I found the animal hospital in Fayetteville when I first moved here in 19 years ago. My animals receive amazing care with love, dignity, and respect. Waited two hours for my two cats to get their yearly vaccines & blood work. Had three vet techs who each spent less than 60 seconds with me regarding what I needed for the cats and all of them seemed far too busy to be bothered even though everything was also written out on the clinic's paperwork which I filled out.  I then had my cat's ear medicine thrown into my hands (I literally had to catch it out of the air) and was ushered out the exam room door.  When I mentioned I had never even seen the vet nor got any results from the cats' blood work, the vet tech looked really pissed at me for even asking. She left me in the hallway/front desk area and it took another 20 minutes before an exhausted vet came out who clearly had only glanced at the charts.  They screwed up one cat's blood work but still charged for it and wouldn't rerun it to get results.  They are either severely understaffed, completely over- committed with appointments or both.  Personally, I would have been okay with just having a single vet tech take care of me and my cats along with my concerns or questions.  Having to repeat everything four times was ridiculous.  This clinic needs a good manager to sort itself out and give better service to the paying clients.  We won't be returning nor would I recommend this place to anyone. The ladies up in the front desk are very rude. I dropped off my puppy as they requested for check up from a procedure. And told me that they would call me when he was ready to go. I dropped him off when they opened and by 5:00 I had not yet received a call. I called to check up on my pup and if everything was ok. I was very worried. They were rude and told me that they closed at 5:30 and I had 10 minutes. Are you kidding me !!! They made the mistake by not calling me and then have the nerve to get upset with me. So I get there and I was treated so badly. I will be searching for a new vet. Their customer service sucks!!! And some of these ladies up front have a sour face. No smile, no hello, no gd morning. Usually a great place.however I have been waiting over 2 hours in a waiting room with others dogs while my dog has an issue that can be passed on to others just by touch and 1 by 1 others who have been here for 15 min only get called ahead of us. Will be looking for a new vet even though we have had dogs going g back 10 hrs at this place. Not sure what's going on but it's nothing like it was. Read Less

I've taken my dogs, cats, and horses to the Animal Hospital of Fayetteville for years. They have saved the lives of my critters many times. Their prices are very reasonable. The staff and doctors are compassionate. This is a father and son team that work hard to provide quality service. I never get the feeling they are requesting unnecessary tests or procedures. This place is awesome. I would give them 10 stars. I have been taking my pets there for the last 7 years. The vets are great. Recently Dr. Roger has been seeing my animal he's very passionate and I love the fact that he goes into details and explained everything to you. The ladies at the front desk are super sweet and very helpful. Savannah always has a smile on her face greets me by my name (which can't be easy with all the patients) asks how my fur babies are, she goes beyond her job duties to help you. Would give them zero stars. They are willing to lose customers with multiple animals over $40. We brought our outdoor cat to be fixed. They tried to sell us a long list of shots and exams totaling over $350. We said no just fix the cat. They said rabies is mandatory - we took their word for it and said OK rabies only and fix the cat. The lady insisted we get more tests run on this outdoor cat. She even printed about 15 pages of information on feline diseases. We clearly said no. We picked up the cat and were billed for a $40 Feline Aids test. I paid about $173 in cash then realized the mistake. They refused to give me my $40 back. They gave me a very hard time and finally the "owner" agreed to give me the full $41 as a credit toward our next visit. I compromised and left somewhat satisfied. Then we get a bill in the mail for $8 a month later. I called and reminded them of the credit and they said they will only credit me $20. After the owner gave me his word and we came to an agreement. I told them to keep all of their $40 and Ill take my business elsewhere. Be careful of greedy & sneaky business practices. FYI our outdoor cat of two years went missing 3 days after getting her fixed and has not been back. I don't want to say the girl was angry enough to steal our cat but...she did have our address.... We took our dog in for a thyroid panel, and Dr. Amy was the one who helped us out. She made a connection with our dog the minute she walked in, knew his name, and everything we needed done for the day. She walked us through every step being done. When she had finished the exam she gave our boy a treat and some love before sending us on our way. Apart from just being a great experience, it cost nearly half of what every other vet quoted us for the same service. All in all, we have found our permanent vet! Read Less

I am disgusted with this clinic!!! I took my Dog to get an exam, and get Rx for her ear infection. We paid the fee, and explained to the female vet that we already had some of her Rx on hand, and would'nt need to fill our prescription until we needed more medication. So, here I am, NOW BEING DENIED MEDICATION FOR MY DOG!!!! When I tired to order her Rx from an online company, the clinic DENIED our prescription, and we paid for the visit!!!! How can this be? And calling and talking to this staff has gotten me NO HELP, NO HELP AT ALL!!!!! Read Less

Dr. Brian Garrett did a PPE on my horse and was very thorough. He didn't push me to spend more on the PPE and let me know what he thought would be important to analyze further. He was kind and considerate...so much so that he drove to another location to ensure that he had the best lighting for the exam. I highly recommend Dr. Garrett.Read Less

I got my dog fixed here last week. I had gone to Highland animal hospital before but was looking to switch because the front desk lady was always rude and I was always being told I needed to have things added on and it was getting super pricey, it was also packed all the time. So when I called here the lady who answered the phone was so nice that I scheduled, and they didn't disappoint. Every one was so friendly and acted like the genuinely cared about my dog and his well being. They called me as soon as his surgery was done to let me know he was ok. He got extra painkillers to take home and has been recovering great. I will definitely go back. The prices were very reasonable too. Read Less

I've been here at least 10 times! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable! The wait can some times get a bit lengthy but I guess they stay busy because they are good at what they do! I think their prices are right in line with the quality of service. I do wish they had more front parking because when they are busy you have to park in the back and walk to the front and my legs don't like that early in the morning! Read Less
