I was referred to come here by a few friends after I had a bad experience with a clinic that I had been taking my precious Punkin to 4yrs prior. First initial visit was great. Both the tech and veterinarian listened to symptoms and signs. Unfortunately, her ear infection was a secondary condition caused by something else. I had found a hard mass a week and a half before her follow up appt. Her symptoms she was experiencing longterm did not subside with her ear infection clearing up. There was also a soft mass near throat that the vet previously knew of, thought to be swollen lymph nodes, but this also grew in size as well. She also continued to lose wieght in between that time....a half a pound in two weeks. Upon the follow up visit I explained what was going on and what my suspicionschedule were.....cancer. I stated I would like a biopsy done. She said let's do xray first.....mind you, already spending 350$ first visit and 500$ at vet before. I said okay. She came back and stated that sift tissue mass was definitely there with irregular borders. The other harder mass, maybe calcification, or new bone forming because of ear infection. I disagreed because calcification doesn't happen that quickly but tumor growth does. I've had first hand experience because of another cat I owned had a type of cancer that was in the salivary gland. She never addressed the biopsy and simply stated she refer me to nc state for CT scan for 1000$. And had the nerve to give me two more bottles of clindamyacin when the ear infection was cleared. Plus, I still had one full bottle left, and the cat had already been on antibiotics between her and the other vet, almost three months. Unethical and not very compassionate, wouldn't you say. I called later that day leaving a message stating I wanted a biopsy done, and if not, why. Mind you, I work in the medical field for ten plus years. Her tech called me back and said was afraid something could happen to her under anesthesia with biopsy because of nerves and vessels. I wrote extensive email back stating it could be done, was done with my other cat, and if out of scope I will find someone else or refer someone who can. Finally, got back to me three days later stating going to another vet is fine, and they would send all the records/xrays when I found someone. This was said to me by another tech, never once did I speak with the Dr. again since the last visit. And never once did she or the techs tell me one of the other vets in the practice could do it, or she wasn't experienced enough to do it herself. I found Dr. Garrett at AHOF and he was able to do it right away with no issues at all, and he was able to give me the most likely prognosis with just palpation on initial visit before biopsy. Unfortunately, we had to put my baby girl to sleep. Cross creek is nice for superficial issues, but anything extensive and in depth, I would never go there again. Poor customer service when a cat is obviously suffering, poor pain control, lack of knowledge and experience, and avoidance with bad news.........not a good mix! Read Less
