We visited this vet on 3 separate occasions and they worked with our budget to do what they could. Excellent care. But, On our most recent visit, we had to make a difficult decision to put down one of our cats. The vet was supportive, but on her way out of the room to leave us with our dying animal, she made an unnecessary, unprofessional, sexist comment about how my dad supposedly didn't want us to spend money on tests for the cat that has been ill for months. Saying something along the lines of "He brings in the cats, but as soon as they use his money he wants nothing to do with them. Typical male." Id like to say, that this simply isn't true. This was a difficult decision for all of our family and my dad doesn't "Control all the money in the household" like she seemed to ASSUME. This vet has NEVER EVEN MET my father, and I have no idea why she felt prompted to make such an unnecessary comment. Lack of funds to pay for extensive treatment of our sick animal is NOT a reason to belittle us and make assumptions about our family. No one should say things like that at all, let alone to a customer, a patient, or a patient in an emotional situation about to put down a beloved cat. She also made seemingly judging comments about how my parents should stop taking in rescue cats, even though she had told us on a previous visit that she herself rescues. The care is nice, but ultimately we will be seeking care for our animals elsewhere after this encounter. I recommend anyone considering visiting do the same. Read Less

Came here for an urgent visit. I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Geiger and Jennifer. They were both so sweet to my dog who had a very upset tummy. Dr. Geiger had sound medical suggestions for making diagnoses as well as for treatment. I greatly appreciate the honesty and excellent medical care I received here. I chose this animal hospital,because of the caring staff that works there. I had my cat Sasha stay there twice. She was treated with the best care,and they always recommend a bath for her before she returns home. I'm less worried about her well being now when I go out of town. I recently boarded my cattle dog here for 12 days. They took really good care of her and I could tell that the staff really cared about her. I would definitely recommend this Veterinary Hospital to others looking to board. They were fair on the daily rate, they didn't tack on any additional charges, and the only negative part of my experience is that I could not pick her up during the weekend, we got back on a Saturday morning, and I just wanted my puppy, but I got over it. We have only dealt with a vet named Lorraine Geiger, but she has been amazing helping us with our three cats, one of which was attacked by a raccoon. Dr. Geiger was very knowledgeable and pleasant and we were grateful for the gentle TLC given our cats on each of our visits to Cumberland Animal Hospital, by Dr. Geiger and each of the super-nice staffers we've met on our many visits here. I've read some of the other reviews and I have to say that I am surprised. I have taken many animals over many years to Dr. Price and he is an excellent vet. Some of the people complain that he needs to be paid for services. That's how people stay in business, isn't it? One person complains because their puppy died. That happens, sorry. Dr. Price has taken great care of all of my animals for many years, as well as the animals of family members. I think he charges reasonable prices for reasonable services. The groomer there does a great job, as well. I highly recommend him over anyone else in the area. Read Less
