Love this animal hospital. I have used their services for over 20 years . Very friendly staff who always greet me and my dogs by name. One of my dogs needed ACL surgery on her left back leg and then 2 months later tore the one on her right leg. I’ve been taking my fur babies here for YEARS! My oldest cat is 18 years old and she’s been under Dr. Williams’ and Dr. Faircloth’s care since she was 5 weeks old. I’m up to 4 cats and 2 dogs now and wouldn’t trust them with anyone else! One of my cats has bone deformities, deafness, and hip dysplasia. The vets and technicians spoil him every time he goes in. Their prices are comparable to other places in town and everyone that works there is always so nice! My youngest dog had her first grooming done a couple weeks ago, and I was very impressed with Susan’s work! I had no idea what I wanted done, so I asked her to use her professional opinion, and I was not disappointed! Dogwood truly is my other family doctor. Dogwood over charging issues. As outlined by some of the previous reviews, Dogwood is very expensive and seems to almost nickel and dime you to death for everything. That being said, I do believe you get what you pay for and unfortunately that is not the case here. If cost is an indication of the level of care your animal should receive, I would not recommend this Hospital. Just do what is necessary for the animal’s health and stop hiding costs or recommending un-needed modalities. Most of us are not in the 1%er tax bracket and we love our animals. However, it almost feels like I’m being taken advantage of because the hospital knows and can see I would do anything for my four legged friends. For a minor example (I have many: I was charged for a comprehensive exam ($58.00) and the Dr. conducted what is outlined as a detailed exam which runs ($30.00ish) I would assume a comprehensive exam would cover Heart Rate/Temp/Lungs/Eyes/Ears/Mouth/Bowel Sounds etc. What I observed was nothing of the sort and was a simple post op follow-up with questions. I would like to clarify (was told I was wrong about being told something) that when my animal was being seen, the Dr. said he would like to get some film on the area of the surgery. I assumed that this was to see how his surgery was healing because (I believe the Dr. though he should be further along than the animal was) I was not told how much the x-rays would cost and the animal was whisked away. I later found out that I was charged for it. My spouse also called and inquired about the costs and was told that I was fully cognate of the cost before the procedure was conducted. This was absolutely not true, and I was a bit perturbed by this lack of truth on the part of the hospital. Read Less

It is estimated that 100-150 Leptospirosis cases are identified annually in the US. About 50% of cases occur in Puerto Rico. The continuous overkill with injections at this clinic is just the beginning. We have been using Dogwood since 1980, we have a Heeler and a Labrador. Sonny the Lab had two knots on his chest. We had them aspirated in VA & Vet said Lipoma, had a second opinion at Dogwood. Dr Williams after looking under microscope stated they were cysts & he needed SURGERY. I had an uncomfortable feeling about it & asked for a biopsy, by Dr Faricloth confirmed LIPOMA! Lier.They charge the same for spay & neuter. Really! Sonny had is teeth done 2 months later I get a card for his annual exam.???? This is not the worst, my Heeler had complete ACL repair Williams said he cant run for a month. I heard from an Instagram follower it would be 3 months. We are 18 days fm 3 months, just had his 2nd follow-up & hay business manager NO MY HUSBAND WAS NOT GIVEN A COST ANALYSIS ON THE COST OF X-RAYS! ASK Williams if he says he stopped to tell him the price LIER. Jager can barely walk I asked why they did an x-ray. BC you cannot see soft tissue, she said to check for tumors, I was in disbelief. Hay DR WILLIAMS if you cared about Jager you would have sent us for MRI. verses wasting 150$ on usless xrays. YOU ARE A BUSINESS MAN NOT A VET. I am a retired trauma nurse. While speaking with the business manager she says I know you remind us of the fact your a nurse every time your here, WOW!! How PETTY can you get! after this conversation I was asked not to return to the clinic. HOW Convenient for you DR WILLIAMS, Jager is a mess & this is your decision. UNETHICAL I will report this to the AAHA. BBB will also get a call on the LIPOMA debacle. If you have lots of money to spend this is your clinic. This place is by far the most expensive vet in the area. My dog was throwing up & I took him in to get checked out, that visit alone was $300+ & they didn't even run test or do bloodwork. Usually a vet calls the next day to check on your animal, Dogwood called me almost a month later asking if my dog was still throwing up and if I needed to schedule another visit. Don't go here. Wonderful people and wonderful practice. I have been going to them almost 3 years now and am so glad to have them. I have three cats and they have never done any less than the absolute best for them! I worry a lot and they work with me and help me to ensure that all of my kitties are taken care of and happy and healthy. 110% recommend them! I've been going to Dogwood Animal Hospital for probably about 35 years or so - they were even in their old building. Jim Williams is an amazing vet - he has taken care of my Senegal Parrot his entire life that I've lived in Fay - My parrot is almost 29 years old and has had several surgeries, all done by Jim. Not only is Jim awesome, but Dr Faircloth is just as awesome, along with Erin and Kelly and the rest of the staff. I love this place!!! Read Less

They get us seen in a reasonable time and the doctors take as much time as needed to answer our questions and explain to us what treatment is suggested. This team of professionals are the best in the business. The customer service specialists that greet you are always friendly, helpful, and ready to help both the animals and their parents. The techs and doctors give the extra care and take necessary precautions to make sure each animal's special needs are met. The kennel crew make every effort to help each animal be as comfortable as possible for their stay, whether it's short term or long term. We've had multiple dogs with special needs and I feel that the care that they've received here has been exceptional. Our timid girl who was afraid of almost everything now feels comfortable around most people thanks to the socialization the kennel crew provided for her. Our senior with arthritis is wheeled around in a wagon (per my request) and everybody has gladly accommodated him in his wagon--and been extra careful with his arthritic bones. They have always accommodated our emergency visits too. We also like that they have specialty services like laser and acupuncture. We'd highly recommend this team to anybody! Read Less

Only giving one star because giving 0 isn't allowed on here, my wife gets an estimate on how much it will cost for my dogs 6 month checkup including all shots he needs (rabies, heart worm . . .) Dr says my dog has an ear infection, and dry skin runs tests and charges over $740. I will never take a pet here again, and will most definitely not refer these scam artists to anyone! Read Less

My experience at Dogwood Animal hospital has been nothing but stellar. Specifically, I came to Dogwood to gain a second opinion regarding the choice I was provided at Lakewood Animal Hospital. My small dog was hit by a car and suffered a multi-fractured pelvis. I was initially told that no one does that type of surgery in Fayetteville and that I would l have to drive my dog to an animal hospital in Raleigh at a cost of $4000-6000. I sought out a second opinion with Dogwood and Dr. Williams assured me that he could perform the surgery. Prior to surgery my dog was immobile and without the ability to defecate or urinate on her own. The following day after surgery she was able to walk and independently relive herself. It was a miracle to see her walk again. 10 days later she is not only walking but has to be told daily to slow down. I am not only impressed by the surgery, but also by the customer service from the front staff, vet assistants and the veterinarians. During the course of this situation, I have received SEVERAL calls regarding the operation plan, health check of my dog by several VERTERINARIANS. The personal care and attention that I received from Dogwood Hospital is second to none and indescribable and can not be expressed through words alone. I will forever be great to Dr. Williams and his staff for making my dog (whom I love with all my heart) whole again. Furthermore, this operation procedure was $2000 cheaper than the competitor. We have been bringing our fur babies to Dogwood for 14 years. Recently we lost one of our family members and Dogwood was with us every step of the way. Comforting, acknowledging, and being sympathetic. I went in there to pick up my dogs meds (which he has been on these meds for at least a year now). They hand me the meds, which I always check them first. One of the meds did not look right , it was way to big. I tried to tell them that that was not the right med. The front desk argued with me for at least twenty minutes telling me it was the right size, it was only becasue the ones I were use to were a different shape. I kept telling them it was not right. Again they said it was right and I should not worry. I kept telling them that I dont want to over dose my dog. I finally ask if I could talk to a vet tech. Finally, a vet tech came and looked at his chart and the meds and assured me that it was right. after 20 minutes of arguing with them she finally asked if I wanted her to go back and make sure. I said of course. Five minutes later she comes back to the front and said I was right! I told her I knew I was right and if I didnt stick with my gut about this med I would have overdosed my dog twice a day (would of been four times his normal dose). The only thing she said was sorry and she will "talk" to the person that got it ready. I just couldnt imagine if I gave my dog this med and overdosed him. They do not listen to the patient when they tell him something is not right. I will be calling the manager as soon as I can. I will be looking for another vet. I was so upset. Read Less

I have been using Dogwood since I moved here almost two years ago. Having come from a small town where our vet knew my kitties by name and life history, I was worried about using a vet in a larger city. Dogwood Animal Hospital has made our experience great. Over the last several months, Dogwood has been especially supportive. I had a kitty who was almost 17 who was dealing with a lot of health issues. It was to the point where I was coming in every day the vet was open to get him the things he needed. This happened for several months straight. Each time we were greeted not only with respect and care, but every employee made a point to ask how my kitty was feeling that day and did whatever the could to make him feel better, physically and emotionally. And we were never made to feel like a burden or nuisance. My sweet kitty died last week outside of operating hours. While I have been in the office a few times since then, I received two cards yesterday. One signed by every employee and filled with sweet words and one from our primary vet who wrote a personalized and beyond kind note to me and my husband. Both cards proved I had made a great decision in choosing Dogwood. Thank you Dr. Faircloth and everyone else at Dogwood. As long as I am in Fayetteville, I will be coming to you!Read Less

I recently moved to Fayetteville and had to find a vet not just for my 6 huskies, blind Great Pyrenees and my Chihuahua, but also my fosters. I read yelp and Google reviews, spoke with husky owners at the dog park, checked their ratings and score with the veterinarian boards (not one mark against them) then made an appointment to meet the vets and staff and check out their facilities.... My dogs are my kids and I don't want them going just anywhere. I have had the best experience using them, everyone is very friendly, like being in a small friendly town, they treat your pets as they would their own, very in touch with the pets fears and how to or not to approach certain things... I had one that didn't like his backend touch and would snip, Dr. Faircloth was able to do his exam without any snipping, she was amazing with Braun and in turn he let her do her thing. Braun had to be put down peacefully due to a brain tumor, I couldn't have asked for a better vet. (I can't say more because it's too painful still and the tears keep coming) they were amazing with us.The rescue I work for got two of the malamutes from the Durham seize, I took in the blind one which also was heartworm positive, liver disease and kidney failure. Jasper stayed at Dogwood for 5 days with IV and meds, I just can't say enough for how well they did with him... 2 months later and he is doing even better.Yes, they are alittle more then other vets, but keep in mind that you get what you pay for. They will give you an estimate before they do anything and are honest about treatments and will tell you "we can do this test if you want, but it won't really help" instead of "you ha e to have this $1000.00 test even though it really won't tell us anything" so I know I have options and they show me them.I personally will not take my pack to any other vet. There are 3 vets here that can help with a wide range of medical and behavioural issues with your fur kids, so I feel I'm covered no matter what happens. They have different programs for your pets that are helpful also. I love it here and even my cry baby husky, Tony is calm here... Thats says everything!  HahaThey have boarding and groomers her as well, I haven't used these yet but know people that have and they loved them.With all my dogs and all my fosters, I'm always here for one thing or another Read Less

Dr. Faircloth and the rest of the staff at Dogwood Animal Hospital are outstanding! I've spent some time there in the last few months, and witnessed first hand how they treat and care for every pet that comes through the door as one of their own. Their care and genuine concern for our cat, who unfortunately passed away recently after suffering from heart failure, helped our family through a very trying time; our poor boy was only two years old. We live in Spring Lake, and have been looking for a good vet for four years. After rescuing our dog, there were many unforseen cirumstances that almost lead to her dying after her spay surgery. She was a very sick girl and Dogwood brought her back to life. Dr. Elle, Crista and every staff member I met at Dogwood were professional, knowledgeable, caring, and absolutely understanding of our situation. Very expensive. But good work. When my cat was bitten by a racoon, the wound became infected. they gave me an estimate of around 600$ and when I told them I could not get 600$ for a cat surgery immediately and I asked if they could give me a payment plan, they told me it was not policy. They told me to open up a care credit card. If you haven't heard of care credit, the interest rate is astronomical, if not paid odd in the first few months. dogwood saved my cat.
