Here's the one liner "TOOK MY DOG IN TO GET A ROUTINE SURGERY (NEUTERED) ENDED UP HAVING MY DOG BLEED OUT INTERNALLY FOR OVER 2 HOURS IN A CAGE AT NORTH STAR VETERINARY, HE HAD TO GO THROUGH MAJOR SURGERY TO SAVE HIS LIFE." --long story but if you care about your animals you will not take them here--. took my Doberman in to get neutered and THEN get a call later that day saying there was a "complication" and that he had to go back into surgery. My dog got out of surgery the first time, where they failed to close off the arteries from being neutered and then sewed him back up. At that point he was bleeding into his stomach for over 2 hours in a cage where "techs" did there routine inspections. They didn't catch anything until my dog finally passed out (he's a trooper) when they pulled out an IV. They rush him back to surgery to pump the blood and save his life. At that point they called my wife for the first time and explained what they did. They threw all this medical terminology onto my wife on the phone saying that you need to come by and see your dog, hes going to have to spend the night. Dr. Roberson made it out to seem to my family that my dog was going to die. I find out about it and accompanied my wife to North star and get this story about how they basically screwed up my dogs neutered surgery and insulted me by saying that i would have to pay for they extra surgery, supplies and what not to keep him alive. The words 1000 something dollars, on top of the 300 dollar neutered came out of one fools mouth. If your wondering if i really did pay that amount to get my dog. I didn't. I made them fully aware that If I would have picked up my dog on time like they said i could. HE WOULD HAVE DIED AT MY HOUSE. their response "that would have been unfortunate". Am I supposed to by happy and thankful that my dog was alive? Because that's how they were when I showed up in person. "Hes fine, Hes stable, He is going to be alright". No, I was pissed. Pissed that my dog had to suffer, or actually slowly die. And praise GOD that some lucky soul realized something was wrong. I would have made it my life goal to shut down this place for good.

Hands down my favorite clinic. Dr Kim Krivit sees my both dogs as well as horses for preventative care, chiropractic, acupuncture, and emergency service. The first vet I’ve felt takes in the whole animal rather than just addressing parts. Very honest, knowledgeable and open to holistic approaches. Supports raw for the dogs, does house/farm calls, and offers a military discount. I’m in Spring Lake but the distance is negligible for the care. One of the very few emergency veterinary services in the Fayetteville area.

The absolute BEST vet I have ever had look after my pups! I've lived all over the country due to the military and have experienced many different vets over the years and North Star far surpasses all expectations! The front desk staff is very friendly, inviting and efficient. The Vet techs that bring you to the room are amazing also! They made my very skiddish dog Dr. Pickles feel so comfortable that he now ENJOYS going to the vet! He actually gets excited and is very happy to be there! The Veterinarians there are also absolutely wonderful! The want the best for your pet and make sure they are taken care without charging you excessively for unneeded medications or fees. I would recommend North Star to anyone and I actually do to all the customers that come into the pet resort I work at. Thank you North Star! You guys are the best!

Dr Kim is fantastic!! She has spent months helping us figure out our dogs allergies. Her personal attention has been amazing. The techs and vets are great every time we go in. They have always treated out pup (Angel) like one of their own. We never wait very long to be seen. We have explained that Angel can get nervous with out her mom being there so they have always done everything with her present. We have trained and owned many dogs over the years and this is by far the best vet group we have ever dealt with.

I took my elderly cat here when he started rapidly losing weight. The staff was very friendly, and the vet and vet techs were very gentle and kind. My cat usually dislikes going to the vet, but he was very calm at North Star. They were very thorough and explained everything very well. All of my questions were answered, and they called for with a follow-up to blood work that was done and explained future courses of action. I was very pleased with our experience there, and I will be going back.

Mina is one of the most caring vets I've ever known. There's been several moments in Rainy's life (our tiny Pitbull) where Mina's come in to save the day. From the time she was a pup and had very persistent mange, to the time she got hit by a car (thankfully, she's okay!). But through that time we were really worried and Mina went above and beyond - calling and texting to see if she was doing okay. He treats every pet like the family members that they really are. I wouldn't take Rainy anywhere else. Best. Vet. Ever.

Three dogs One became diabetic the out of state vet got the dog well enough to travel on 7 units of insulin. First visit to North Star and we were cut to 3 1/2 units of insulin. When trying to revisit the receptionist did not know what was going on in the back and we never could seem to work out a time to get in so we ended up at another vet that immediately upped the insulin back to 7 and now we are adjusted to 8 Dog two. Had a lump behind his ear. North Star took a biopsy and said it was benign no worries. The lump grows. New vet takes a biopsy and it is cancer Dog 3 goes to the new vet today at 4:30 Back to dog one. When I took him in for the diabetes recheck I specifically asked for dr Kim but got dr Goff We rescue dogs. We don't buy bred dogs we would appreciate a little help in keeping our babies healthy

Took my dog in for 2 vaccines and was quoted around $90. They took my dog from the room to take her temperature. I could hear her freaking out in the back and became nervous. When they brought her back she was clearly distraught and they said she put up a fight. She is not good with stressful things and can't have blood drawn or anything without being sedated.
Got to the counter and they tried to charge me $200! They drew blood for some test I did not agree to, gave her a Lyme vaccine which is optional but not something I asked for, trimmed her nails even though I told them she had an appointment next week. They did all of this in the back room without me. Never again! Don't let your pet out of your site with them! They did make it right and not charge me for the vaccines I didn't ask for, but they still tortured her for no reason by drawing blood and trimming her nails in a stressful environment. Completely unacceptable.

Yesterday was my pups first vet appointment. This is my first time having pups of my own. When I pulled up I was impressed alone by the way the building looked and when I went inside it smelled so clean! Our room was clean and I'm glad they got me in their fast because my little squirming pups were tired of being in my arms. Both the Vet and Vet Assistant were great with both my pups though their names are escaping me right now :/ I am sure that every Vet/Assistant is the same way there! Very pleased with my experience and I got my pups signed up for the puppy petly plan which saved me money!! Highly recommend this Vet! Worth the drive!!

I used to love going to North Star to get my dogs groomed but the past few times I've been I was not happy at all. They never clean my dogs ears and I pay an extra 7.00 to have nails filed that you can tell were not and when I asked the front desk lady about it she was very rude. First I was told ears aren't included in basic bath then told me groomer was gone but she assured me that it was done when you could clearly look at the ears and tell they had not been touched. I don't understand why people feel the need to be rude just because you point out something that they didn't do. Not happy with service at all !!

Absolutely avoid this place. The doctors are greedy and will try to sell you needless things constantly. Compared to other vet offices I have been to this was the worst. Quality of care and knowledge is poor, professionalism (especially Dr. Krivit) is awful. I have heard stories of her yelling at clients who would not take her advice, even if that advice is not in the best interest of the pet. You will wait forever in the waiting room regardless if you have an appointment. Wait time for medications takes days and that's if they even fill the medication without you calling 10 times!!! They will try to get the most out of your pocket book. For me, I was told my dog with cancer and 14 years old would be a good candidate for a very expensive surgery (no way according to second opinions). This clinic does not put the best interest of you and your pet at heart. Find a respectable veterinarian who genuinely cares for your animals not the bottom line!

If you're ever wondering if this is the vet for your furbaby, yes! I live 45 minutes away from it and it will always be my number 1 choice, 2,3, and 4 for that matter. Last night was the first time we have ever been to North Star in Parkton. Before this we have never heard of the place but I have to say our experience was AMAZING!! Our little yorkie had to have an emergency c-section & for them To have to come from their home to meet us there at 11 p.m they were super polite and helpful. They took care of her from start to finish We will be driving the extra 30 minutes to start coming to North Star in Parkton!! Thank you for everything you did!

Wonderful practice! From equine to canine (and everything in between), Dr. Krivit and her staff have been exemplary in their care of my animals. Dr. Krivit is straightforward and charming, highly qualified and clearly loves her work. Her staff, Dr. Goff and supporting staff are also not only caring but enthusiastic about maintaining the health and welfare of animals. I'm thrilled to know this group of people are taking care of my animals. As I've had the pleasure of meeting several of the DVMs and staff members there, I would, without hesitation, see anyone in this practice. Fantastic.

The front staff is very friendly and welcoming and always make sure your furry loved one feels special. The Dr.'s and vet techs are very knowledgable and handle animals with such care! They even call you days after you've left to check on your pet! If you're looking for the best care for your pet, North Star is the place to go!

I've been taking my babies here for several years now. They are always extremely loving and helpful. Last week I had to make the heart wrenching decision to put my 13 year old baby Neko to sleep due to health issues. I was in the office after 10pm. They met me and did an exam. He made sure I understood the problem and steps needed. He made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. Yesterday I picked up the most beautiful memorial with Nekos pawprints. These guys are simply amazing, loving and will help you in any way possible

Dr Goff, Dr Krivit and the team he called in late at night saved our 4 legged baby's life with emergency surgery. From the initial phone call when something seemed wrong to picking him up a couple day later, it was nothing short of amazing care. We took our boy in at 11pm on a Saturday night for bloat and his stomach twisting, they popped him right into surgery to bleed the gas, untwist the stomach and then tack it into place to help prevent this from happening again. I was able to visit him on Monday afternoon to bring him some chicken and rice and from there his spirits had lifted. Dr Krivet called me later in the day to let me know he was ready to go home!!! We expected him to be there a few more day, but with their care for him and his body's cooperation we were able to bring him home Monday evening. If you're ever wondering if this is the vet for your furbaby, yes! I live 30 minutes away from it and it will always be my number 1 choice, 2,3, and 4 for that matter.

I've been to North Star three times now. The first visit we met with the vet who owns the hospital and she did the initial exam on our two pups. She was wonderful, very attentive and answered any questions we had thoroughly. I asked about their monthly pet plans and after our first visit I decided to go ahead and sign them up. After the enrollment and first months payment I set up the appointment to get one of my dogs spayed, and the others teeth cleaned as she's 7. All the of the blood work was included along with the procedures in our monthly plan. My dog just returned today after her teeth cleaning and I'm thoroughly impressed in the quality of care from this vet. They ended up extracting one tooth and explained to me how she did and what I'd need to do to help her with the recovery process. All in all they're definitely worth the 30 minute drive and I'll never go anywhere else as long as my family lives here.

The staff was very helpful and kind! We didn't know much about our new husky because we just got him two days before the vet visit. The day i called them they got us right in the next day and the doc was wonderful!! Her and her tech both had huskies as well and made us feel very comfortable. They were not at all annoyed by my dogs loudness in the waiting area either I would highly recommend this vet! They are great

We first found North Star when one of our dogs was sick on a weekend. They handled us with genuine care. That same fur baby became very ill a year later. North Star eased us through the process of having to say goodbye to our Harley-man. Since then we rescued two more fur babies. North Star has been very kind and patient with our girls. One has severe anxiety, the other is very loving to everyone. I highly recommend this family of animal loving professionals.

Truly an incredible veterinary office! I had an issue with my lab's hips and they were able to get me in the same day without an additional fees. We have been back five time since, treating the same issue and the atmosphere and personalities there have yet to change; the staff are all warm, receptive, friendly, kind, and caring. A rarity in the vet world, they have a Doctor who is a certified animal chiropractor, treating dogs and horses. My lab has had one "adjustment" and it went great. And didn't cost an arm and a leg! This amazing experience is not limited to just me! Two years ago my fiance took his 18 year old lab here to be put down, it was just that time. When he got there, they greeted him, and took him to a comfy little room with a couch and blanket, somewhere he could enjoy the last few minutes of his beloved dog's life. The treated the dog like she was a loved family member and understood what my fiance was going through. This is not common and should be treasured in a veterinary office. I will never use another vet again!

The absolute BEST vet I have ever had look after my pups! I've lived all over the country due to the military and have experienced many different vets over the years and North Star far surpasses all expectations! The front desk staff is very friendly, inviting and efficient. The Vet techs that bring you to the room are amazing also! They made my very skiddish dog Dr. Pickles feel so comfortable that he now ENJOYS going to the vet! He actually gets excited and is very happy to be there! The Veterinarians there are also absolutely wonderful! The want the best for your pet and make sure they are taken care without charging you excessively for unneeded medications or fees. I would recommend North Star to anyone and I actually do to all the customers that come into the pet resort I work at. Thank you North Star! You guys are the best!

Dr Kim is fantastic!! She has spent months helping us figure out our dogs allergies. Her personal attention has been amazing. The techs and vets are great every time we go in. They have always treated out pup (Angel) like one of their own. We never wait very long to be seen. We have explained that Angel can get nervous with out her mom being there so they have always done everything with her present. We have trained and owned many dogs over the years and this is by far the best vet group we have ever dealt with.

I took my elderly cat here when he started rapidly losing weight. The staff was very friendly, and the vet and vet techs were very gentle and kind. My cat usually dislikes going to the vet, but he was very calm at North Star. They were very thorough and explained everything very well. All of my questions were answered, and they called for with a follow-up to blood work that was done and explained future courses of action. I was very pleased with our experience there, and I will be going back.

Mina is one of the most caring vets I've ever known. There's been several moments in Rainy's life (our tiny Pitbull) where Mina's come in to save the day. From the time she was a pup and had very persistent mange, to the time she got hit by a car (thankfully, she's okay!). But through that time we were really worried and Mina went above and beyond - calling and texting to see if she was doing okay. He treats every pet like the family members that they really are. I wouldn't take Rainy anywhere else. Best. Vet. Ever.

Three dogs One became diabetic the out of state vet got the dog well enough to travel on 7 units of insulin. First visit to North Star and we were cut to 3 1/2 units of insulin. When trying to revisit the receptionist did not know what was going on in the back and we never could seem to work out a time to get in so we ended up at another vet that immediately upped the insulin back to 7 and now we are adjusted to 8 Dog two. Had a lump behind his ear. North Star took a biopsy and said it was benign no worries. The lump grows. New vet takes a biopsy and it is cancer Dog 3 goes to the new vet today at 4:30 Back to dog one. When I took him in for the diabetes recheck I specifically asked for dr Kim but got dr Goff We rescue dogs. We don't buy bred dogs we would appreciate a little help in keeping our babies healthy

Took my dog in for 2 vaccines and was quoted around $90. They took my dog from the room to take her temperature. I could hear her freaking out in the back and became nervous. When they brought her back she was clearly distraught and they said she put up a fight. She is not good with stressful things and can't have blood drawn or anything without being sedated.
Got to the counter and they tried to charge me $200! They drew blood for some test I did not agree to, gave her a Lyme vaccine which is optional but not something I asked for, trimmed her nails even though I told them she had an appointment next week. They did all of this in the back room without me. Never again! Don't let your pet out of your site with them! They did make it right and not charge me for the vaccines I didn't ask for, but they still tortured her for no reason by drawing blood and trimming her nails in a stressful environment. Completely unacceptable.

Yesterday was my pups first vet appointment. This is my first time having pups of my own. When I pulled up I was impressed alone by the way the building looked and when I went inside it smelled so clean! Our room was clean and I'm glad they got me in their fast because my little squirming pups were tired of being in my arms. Both the Vet and Vet Assistant were great with both my pups though their names are escaping me right now :/ I am sure that every Vet/Assistant is the same way there! Very pleased with my experience and I got my pups signed up for the puppy petly plan which saved me money!! Highly recommend this Vet! Worth the drive!!

I used to love going to North Star to get my dogs groomed but the past few times I've been I was not happy at all. They never clean my dogs ears and I pay an extra 7.00 to have nails filed that you can tell were not and when I asked the front desk lady about it she was very rude. First I was told ears aren't included in basic bath then told me groomer was gone but she assured me that it was done when you could clearly look at the ears and tell they had not been touched. I don't understand why people feel the need to be rude just because you point out something that they didn't do. Not happy with service at all !!

Absolutely avoid this place. The doctors are greedy and will try to sell you needless things constantly. Compared to other vet offices I have been to this was the worst. Quality of care and knowledge is poor, professionalism (especially Dr. Krivit) is awful. I have heard stories of her yelling at clients who would not take her advice, even if that advice is not in the best interest of the pet. You will wait forever in the waiting room regardless if you have an appointment. Wait time for medications takes days and that's if they even fill the medication without you calling 10 times!!! They will try to get the most out of your pocket book. For me, I was told my dog with cancer and 14 years old would be a good candidate for a very expensive surgery (no way according to second opinions). This clinic does not put the best interest of you and your pet at heart. Find a respectable veterinarian who genuinely cares for your animals not the bottom line!

If you're ever wondering if this is the vet for your furbaby, yes! I live 45 minutes away from it and it will always be my number 1 choice, 2,3, and 4 for that matter. Last night was the first time we have ever been to North Star in Parkton. Before this we have never heard of the place but I have to say our experience was AMAZING!! Our little yorkie had to have an emergency c-section & for them To have to come from their home to meet us there at 11 p.m they were super polite and helpful. They took care of her from start to finish We will be driving the extra 30 minutes to start coming to North Star in Parkton!! Thank you for everything you did!

Wonderful practice! From equine to canine (and everything in between), Dr. Krivit and her staff have been exemplary in their care of my animals. Dr. Krivit is straightforward and charming, highly qualified and clearly loves her work. Her staff, Dr. Goff and supporting staff are also not only caring but enthusiastic about maintaining the health and welfare of animals. I'm thrilled to know this group of people are taking care of my animals. As I've had the pleasure of meeting several of the DVMs and staff members there, I would, without hesitation, see anyone in this practice. Fantastic.

I love North Star! I live 30 minutes away and could easily choose a closer vet clinic, but I wouldn't take my animals anywhere else! The front staff is very friendly and welcoming and always make sure your furry loved one feels special. The Dr.'s and vet techs are very knowledgable and handle animals with such care! They even call you days after you've left to check on your pet! If you're looking for the best care for your pet, North Star is the place to go!

I've been taking my babies here for several years now. They are always extremely loving and helpful. Last week I had to make the heart wrenching decision to put my 13 year old baby Neko to sleep due to health issues. I was in the office after 10pm. They met me and did an exam. He made sure I understood the problem and steps needed. He made sure I knew what to expect every step of the way. Yesterday I picked up the most beautiful memorial with Nekos pawprints. These guys are simply amazing, loving and will help you in any way possible

Dr Goff, Dr Krivit and the team he called in late at night saved our 4 legged baby's life with emergency surgery. From the initial phone call when something seemed wrong to picking him up a couple day later, it was nothing short of amazing care. We took our boy in at 11pm on a Saturday night for bloat and his stomach twisting, they popped him right into surgery to bleed the gas, untwist the stomach and then tack it into place to help prevent this from happening again. I was able to visit him on Monday afternoon to bring him some chicken and rice and from there his spirits had lifted. Dr Krivet called me later in the day to let me know he was ready to go home!!! We expected him to be there a few more day, but with their care for him and his body's cooperation we were able to bring him home Monday evening. If you're ever wondering if this is the vet for your furbaby, yes! I live 30 minutes away from it and it will always be my number 1 choice, 2,3, and 4 for that matter.

I've been to North Star three times now. The first visit we met with the vet who owns the hospital and she did the initial exam on our two pups. She was wonderful, very attentive and answered any questions we had thoroughly. I asked about their monthly pet plans and after our first visit I decided to go ahead and sign them up. After the enrollment and first months payment I set up the appointment to get one of my dogs spayed, and the others teeth cleaned as she's 7. All the of the blood work was included along with the procedures in our monthly plan. My dog just returned today after her teeth cleaning and I'm thoroughly impressed in the quality of care from this vet. They ended up extracting one tooth and explained to me how she did and what I'd need to do to help her with the recovery process. All in all they're definitely worth the 30 minute drive and I'll never go anywhere else as long as my family lives here.

The staff was very helpful and kind! We didn't know much about our new husky because we just got him two days before the vet visit. The day i called them they got us right in the next day and the doc was wonderful!! Her and her tech both had huskies as well and made us feel very comfortable. They were not at all annoyed by my dogs loudness in the waiting area either I would highly recommend this vet! They are great

We first found North Star when one of our dogs was sick on a weekend. They handled us with genuine care. That same fur baby became very ill a year later. North Star eased us through the process of having to say goodbye to our Harley-man. Since then we rescued two more fur babies. North Star has been very kind and patient with our girls. One has severe anxiety, the other is very loving to everyone. I highly recommend this family of animal loving professionals.

Truly an incredible veterinary office! I had an issue with my lab's hips and they were able to get me in the same day without an additional fees. We have been back five time since, treating the same issue and the atmosphere and personalities there have yet to change; the staff are all warm, receptive, friendly, kind, and caring. A rarity in the vet world, they have a Doctor who is a certified animal chiropractor, treating dogs and horses. My lab has had one "adjustment" and it went great. And didn't cost an arm and a leg! This amazing experience is not limited to just me! Two years ago my fiance took his 18 year old lab here to be put down, it was just that time. When he got there, they greeted him, and took him to a comfy little room with a couch and blanket, somewhere he could enjoy the last few minutes of his beloved dog's life. The treated the dog like she was a loved family member and understood what my fiance was going through. This is not common and should be treasured in a veterinary office. I will never use another vet again!
