I have been taking my dogs and cats (in one case a hamster) here for years, my mom as well. The staff here is incredible. They are extremely helpful and sympathetic to owners and their pets. I just had an issue where I had to take my brothers dog in for heart worm treatment and they were so kind and helpful with the whole situation. My husband and I were in tears trying to save our dog and they were just so amazing. People complain that veterinary offices overcharge and just want money but even though my family has had a dog die despite having them treated at this office, we don't feel bitter because we know they did everything they could and they have helped cure and care for all our other animals. The vet is clearly an animal lover and cares about getting pets taken care of. The staff behind the counter has to be the most delightful and understanding group of women I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I have to say, this is got to be the best veterinarian clinic i have ever been to! When i called to make my two cats first appointment there i needed to get them in fast for treatment, they got me in the same day and the vet took her time to talk me through everything and make sure i had all the answers to my questions, and i had a lot lol! We came here because our vet didn't have anyone available when we needed to be seen immediately. It was a relief that Reilly Road animal hospital accepted walk-ins and it didn't take us long to be seen, when we thought our dog was ill. He was having consistent diarrhea over the last several days and we had begun to grow concern. The staff suggested every possible testing to be done- when he has every vaccine, takes regular dose of preventive heartworm medicine, had full series of shots, etc. (we did not do this, only blood work, fecal testing and an exam that was Not at all thorough nor did he provide us with knowledge that our dog is ok or not??) Not even every part of fecal matter tested  is INCLUDED in fecal testing- crazy. I didn't get the blood work back, we had that tested of course. And the doctor didn't even say two words to us, even when we expressed our further detail concern to him. I'm glad they were able to help with an anti diarrhea medicine, but disappointed that when we arrived they were so worried about him being contagious and when we said we didn't want the other tests done, they no longer felt concerned. $200+ later and I absolutely will continue with our regular vet, whom are so affordable and honest! I went in with my dog with several different symptoms but nothing completely add up to one thing. Possible allergies. I went to this animal hospital and i was surprise and upset that the doctor walked in immediately with a syringe ready to inject my dog without examing him. I walked out there being told he had seasonal allergies n his sheddin was normal. He was given a shot and eyedrops 2 weeks later nothin had change but i paid $100. I call them and i was told the shot wasnt a real allergy shot it was just to control symptoms. Which it didnt i was told to go in and spend 75 on allergy medicine but still no concrete indication my dog has allergies. The plan proposed was get the medcine if it dont work spend a few hundred dollars on a allergy test. 1 month later my dog has fleas although he wears a collar thats all it was all along. I have been fostering dogs and cats for a while and this is the vet they use to spay and neuter before adoption. I also have 5 young children, so it's I bit chaotic when we go. Every time I come in, the front desk is very helpful and super friendly. I started bringing my own pets in here even though it's a bit of a drive for me. I am so pleased with Reilly Rd animal hospital. I have been to a few other vets in town over the duration of 15-20 years but I can honestly say this is my favorite. Communication is one of the most important concepts in a business and the girls at the front ( and in the back as well ) go the extra mile to walk you through things. I would not recommend this vet if your pet has a serious illness. We don't normally go here but my dog was sick and needed a same day appointment. They are the only ones that could see us same day. Short story is the vet diagnosed her with kidney disease. He asked if we wanted to put her on a kidney diet and I said no because she is on a special home cooked diet plan that our holistic vet makes up for her. That was it. Just sent me home. Wth really ? This is a serious disease that requires special care. When the vet speaks he does not look at you at all and doesn't hear anything you say to him. Absolutely awful. We started going to this vet when we moved here. Prices seemed to some of the cheapest. The vet always tries to get us to spend more money than needed here. This past time they mixed up our dogs file with someone else's and gave my dog the shots instead of the other dog. Not happy about it and most likely won't be going back. Riley Road Animal Hospital is not worth the time or money. my dog went in for a spay and ended up with a UTI. they told me it was "from the antibiotics" and proceeded to make me pay for the antibiotics, vomit medicine, and the tests on her urine. first off, a UTI cant be caused from an antibiotic. second, we should never have had to pay the $156 for the extra tests and medicine. The UTI was a complication from the surgery and therefore should have been covered by the post op care. I asked if this could be the case and they told me no because it wasn't a complication from the surgery but from the antibiotic. when my husband called them to challenge their decision, they told me it was my fault. seriously, don't waste your time. go somewhere else. I had an elderly chihuahua that was in the early stages of heart failure. When the signs first started happening as of seizures (before I knew anything about her heart), the doctor wanted to do an X-ray which cost $900 plus other test that came about to $300. Talked the price of the procedures down because my pet previously took a couple of the same tests a couple years ago. I showed them the record of the same procedure and they tried to stack it with her file of her present appt and I had to ask for it back. Canceled her X-ray appt, scheduled a check up a week from then and prescribed her with meds that would calm her seizures. As she's taking the medicine, it's making her feel worse so I took her off. A week goes by and my sister took her to the appt for me, due to work. My sister paid $300 for meds and the appt, my dog has a seizure on the way home in the car. Her appt was 1 pm I got home around 4pm and it seems she was holding on to see me one last time. I stayed with her for 20 mins and she urinated/defecated on herself, by that time , I knew she was leaving me. I called the animal hospital I use to intern at (dogwood animal hospital) and they told me heart failure was fatal and the doc should have told me instead of trying to do X-rays and meds. I had to see plus my dog had to suffer while she could have just went peacefully but they wanted money and kept feeding false hope. The examination rooms were dirty plus one of the nurses who was demonstrating to forcefully give a dog med, hands and fingernails were disgusting. The only reason I gave a 2 star was because they sent a comfort card that the whole staff signed and they reimbursed the money for some of the meds my sister just bought.Read Less

Let me just say my Dog Autzen was bite by a snake twice they laid with my dog in kennel and talked to him like it was their own! We have been going to this vet for a year. They are CONSTANTLY trying to upsell me. I will tell them what needs to be done and when my husband takes the dogs, more is done because they take advantage of him! They called me 1 day before my dogs Rabies shot was due to let me know and told me that if I don't get it within 7 days, it will only be good for a year instead of three. Their rule, not the states. It was 10 days later when I was able to bring my dog in for the Rabies and my other two for grooming and flea and tick medication. The following week they call me and tell me that the same dog that was due for a rabies shot is due for a Lymes booster by, surprise, the next day! So my husband took him in, and they did a bunch of things that were not necessary. Have spent thousands of dollars with this vet and they care more about money than anything. I just had a very good experience here and will most definitely return! My first call wasn't to this clinic it was to a closer one to my home but the service I received was very unconcerned and didn't care to much about what was wrong with my kitten. I got Binx from a shelter and they had used Reilly Road to do all of his previous care, so we decided to give them a call! They immediately cared about what was wrong and put us in for the soonest appointment. When I got there we received wonderful care, they even remembered Binx from the time before. So I'm not sure exactly how to rate my dog's veterinarian office but here goes. My family's dog has been having a lot of health issues this summer and we've been pretty worried about it. He was getting a gut yet the rest of his body remained the same, growing lethargic, was constantly over-drinking water among a number of other issues so we took him in to figure out what's going on. Let's just say after almost $1,000 in tests, Dr. Stephenson believed to have figured out the issue and it was/still is a pretty costly treatment... BUT our snickers is back to his normal self. Since we brought him in June, he's been coming back regularly to see Dr. Stephenson who always seems to be asking us more questions about Snickers than we do to him. Always a good sign that the Vet is actually wanting to know if there are any changes in our dog's behavior and demeanor.The staff has been nice and accommodating, even when Snickers has been a bit difficult at times. I will say they aren't the most professional staff I've encountered as I've heard some of the front desk staff discuss personal/private information despite patients and caregivers in the waiting room. Additionally, it would be nice if there was some consistency in their check-in policy as some visits they don't want to sign in and others they do... not a big deal because Snickers will be seen either way, just strange it isn't consistent.I'm knocking the office two stars because it is ridiculously costly and the hours are not convenient for anyone with a full-time 9-5pm job. I say it is costly because no matter what, you are charged the consultation/office fee of $35 (I believe that is the current amount). At first I thought this was normal until I learned some other offices actually waive the fee if your dog or pet has a chronic condition (which Snickers now has) as you are scheduled frequent check-ups that are meant to just monitor the aftercare of treatment. Additionally, our dog has two conditions and the office has been scheduling his check-ups separately, which means we have to go to the office twice as often when we should just be able to have all of his check-up needs and tests done in the same visit. And as I said before, if you work during the day the hours of this office are not that great. They do have later hours on Mondays now but it'd be more convenient to have some hours on Saturday as well. Also, just a note that they can be extremely busy!
