This place saved my dog's life. Dr. Gibbs, thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you. I walked in last week, having just heard the devastating news that my dog had a tumor. The previous vet (check out my review on them, it's not pretty) had recommended a "let her die now, or let her die later" approach with no further suggestions. When I stepped into Hilltop for a second opinion, I was prepared for more bad news. Dr. Gibbs was realistic with me, but also told me that this was an operable situation. After a short discussion with him, I asked "can you do it today?" He said yes. Within an hour, he found a donor dog and was tranfusing blood into my anemic, 14 year old dog, and prepping her for surgery. Her blood counts were extremely low, and her gums pale, but he brought them back up and removed her spleen, which had 2 tumors on it and had ruptured. This was a complicated surgery, with a large incision. But the SAME DAY she looked and acted considerably better. The following day, she was supposed to come in for "babysitting" at the vet, to make sure her blood counts were remaining stable. She was doing so well, that they sent her home by 1pm (instead of 5pm as planned). She's been getting better and better every single day, and I could not be happier. She's a puppy again. Just a few days ago, I was told to euthanize her by another doctor, and now I have my baby girl back. Her gums are pink again, she's eating well, and hey - I get it, she's 14. I don't have endless time left with her, but Hilltop yanked her back from the brink of death, and gave us precious time that we all desperately wanted.Not one single person was anything less than uplifting, I felt like the vet techs all took her life very seriously and worked hard to keep her with us. All of my dogs will be going here from here on out.

I moved here from Michigan where I had been going to a cat's veterinary. I have been hesitant to go to any veterinarian here. I saw an advertisement in Suburban Living and thought I might give them a call but put it off. Then I saw them in passing and decided to go in and speak with them. I am so grateful to have found them. All the staff are caring, compassionate, and sympathetic to our babies' needs. Everything that needs to be done is explained to me thoroughly so that I h...ave no more questions even though they encourage you to call back if there are any questions or concerns. I have found that the staff, including the doctors, treat me as if I were one of their family and care for my babies as though they were their own. I cannot say enough good about everyone at Hilltop. Edited to add that this review comes just days after I had to have my 16 year old kitty to sleep. They were so compassionate. I have had quite a few pets through the years and Hilltop Animal Hospital is by far the best Vet I have had. They are very knowledgeable and provide the service I expect for our dog. Scotty Gibbs is a great Dr. and our Bonnie loves him. He always takes time with us and we never feel we are being rushed or our concerns not addressed. They also actually follow up with us whenever Bonnie has been unwell to make sure she is getting better. You will find no better practice around.

We were looking for a Veterinary Acupuncturist to help our 12yo lab mix. Brandy has arthritis in her hips and shoulders as most 'seniors' do and we just found out she developed Cushings. With her regular Doctors approval, we were very lucky to have found Dr. Schnoke through the TCVM website. In short, she really knows her stuff! Brandy's pain has decreased and the herbs Dr. Schnoke prescribed have made a significant difference to her energy level. We drive over an hour each way for Brandy's sessions every 2-3 weeks and absolutely feel it's time well spent. We know Brandy's time with us is short, but with Dr. Schnoke and her regular Dr we can manage her pain and keep her comfortable.

Buyer beware.This review is from a now ex-customer and not from friends and family. TOTAL COST OF PROCEDURE WAS NOT DISCUSSED PRIOR TO SERVICE! This veterinary does not have a written procedure approval form so beware of extra charges. We called ahead to get an estimate on the shots my dog was going to need. My daughter brought the dog in and she walked out with a bill of over 175% MORE of what we were told! They performed procedures that were not clearly agreed upon and because of their lack of documentation it was their word against ours. It was clear that they took advantage of a young customer and the TOTAL COST OF PROCEDURE WAS NOT DISCUSSED PRIOR TO SERVICE. They also do not have a payment plan and you will get billed extra $5 service charge if you use your credit card.

Loved this vet office for years.. Techs are wonderful and caring as well as the docs. What I disagree with is the practice does not believe in sedating your animal prior to euthanasia. I had a horrible experience watching my sweet little dog leave this earth yelling and clawing at me. I did speak to the doc about the practice and was told the sedation may kill the dog causing a much more painful death. I have called multiple practices and no one else does this.. I am truly sorry I feel I can not go back to the practice with my new dog. I hope in the future they will change their practice and help the animals have an easier death.

I absolutely love this vet. Dr. Gibbs is amazing. He is unbelievably friendly and I am so glad I found him. He is great with my dog and treats him like his own. He understands how nervous out dog is and handles it great. They always work with you to get an appointment and they have an online portal which is super helpful. I moved to Clayton and still make the drive here to see Dr. Gibbs. I would 100% recommend this vet for anyone who is in need of a change.

Hilltop Animal Hospital is a great place. I take both of my dogs here for any care they need, and I will not take them anywhere else. The staff at HAH are more caring and professional to my dogs and me than any other veterinarian I have ever been to. Their prices are comparable to other veterinary hospitals in the area, but the level of service and kindness you will experience here sets them far above their peers. A great bunch of people, and I highly recommend them!

I have taken my 2 dogs and 2 cats to Hilltop Vet for the last 2 1/2 years that Dr. Gibbs has owned the practice. I came to him with a very sick dog (massive skin infection brought about by allergies). He worked diligently to cure the infection and then to confirm it was not food related. We worked closely to determine a reasonable course of action to keep whatever trigger (basically the environment) from bringing back the infection (Atopica was key). Dr. Gibbs and the rest of his team have been incredible in understanding the needs of my pets' health and the limit of my budget. While I live in Apex and could go to a number of vets in the local area, I have continued to go to Hilltop and Dr. Gibbs because of their fantastic care.

Our dog went home the same day and did not need any of her pain medication. I think he is one of only a few practices in the area to offer this service. Great staff. We were very pleased with our experience.

This vet was the absolute WORST person, human, vet around. 5 years ago, i went to him. Everytime i would go in, he would make me feel like a horrible mommie to my dog (my dog was spoiled ROTTEN) He told me my dog had cancer and went on to tell me about another dog who died from this cancer. I was 9 months pregnant and horrified at the thought of all this. THankfully I had a friend refer me to another vet before I had the surgery done. Luckily, the other vet said it was an infection and gave us antibiotics and he was perfect. I wouldn't sent a roach to this man. I heard he isn't there anymore and thank the good lord for that!!!!

Our experience with Hilltop Animal Hospital has been a very traumatic one. We brought our beloved pet Cassie in to be euthanized after much thought, consideration and struggle. We agonized over the decision but ultimately came to the conclusion that her seizures were not giving her a good quality of life and were affecting her behavior adversely. We were asked to wait repeatedly while the tech- Brittany- answered the phone, got things together, helped other people etc. While we waited we were tormented with our feelings and it made everything so much more difficult. When we were finally put in a room in was only momentary because they then wanted to take her to another room to give her a shot - Why? . Instead of allowing her to be peaceful after the shot of demerol she had to be moved yet again to receive the injection to euthanize her. While being euthanized - Brittany- held her as if she was going to attack. Again - Why? What is wrong with these people. She was so drugged from the demerol you should have allowed her owners to hold her peacefully and she would just go to sleep. What was the point of the demerol then? Why treat her that way? I am just trying to focus on the fact that Cassie does not have to suffer any longer from her seizures.The experience of euthanizing Cassie at Hilltop was an experience that I would not wish on anyone. I don't know how anybody can treat others as callously and uncaring as we were treated and then still sleep at night. On top of all the eye rolling and delayed treatment the charge was double what I was expecting. I made a few calls to area vets and their charge is more than double that of the others. The range was 68 to 75. Hilltop charged 145.00. To take advantage of people when they are making this type of decision is just unthinkable.

I moved here from Michigan where I had been going to a cat's veterinary. I have been hesitant to go to any veterinarian here. I saw an advertisement in Suburban Living and thought I might give them a call but put it off. Then I saw them in passing and decided to go in and speak with them. I am so grateful to have found them. All the staff are caring, compassionate, and sympathetic to our babies' needs. Everything that needs to be done is explained to me thoroughly so that I h...ave no more questions even though they encourage you to call back if there are any questions or concerns. I have found that the staff, including the doctors, treat me as if I were one of their family and care for my babies as though they were their own. I cannot say enough good about everyone at Hilltop. Edited to add that this review comes just days after I had to have my 16 year old kitty to sleep. They were so compassionate. I cannot begin to tell anyone how grateful I am to have these wonderful people as the care givers or my babies. See More

The entire staff is amazing. I've been taking my animals to Dr. Gibbs for 18 years. He's saved my dog's life in a trama surgery among many other wonderful treatments and comprehensive veterinary care.

I have had quite a few pets through the years and Hilltop Animal Hospital is by far the best Vet I have had. They are very knowledgeable and provide the service I expect for our dog. Scotty Gibbs is a great Dr. and our Bonnie loves him. He always takes time with us and we never feel we are being rushed or our concerns not addressed. They also actually follow up with us whenever Bonnie has been unwell to make sure she is getting better. You will find no better practice around.

We were looking for a Veterinary Acupuncturist to help our 12yo lab mix. Brandy has arthritis in her hips and shoulders as most 'seniors' do and we just found out she developed Cushings. With her regular Doctors approval, we were very lucky to have found Dr. Schnoke through the TCVM website. In short, she really knows her stuff! Brandy's pain has decreased and the herbs Dr. Schnoke prescribed have made a significant difference to her energy level. We drive over an hour each way for Brandy's sessions every 2-3 weeks and absolutely feel it's time well spent. We know Brandy's time with us is short, but with Dr. Schnoke and her regular Dr we can manage her pain and keep her comfortable.

Buyer beware.This review is from a now ex-customer and not from friends and family. TOTAL COST OF PROCEDURE WAS NOT DISCUSSED PRIOR TO SERVICE! This veterinary does not have a written procedure approval form so beware of extra charges. We called ahead to get an estimate on the shots my dog was going to need. My daughter brought the dog in and she walked out with a bill of over 175% MORE of what we were told! They performed procedures that were not clearly agreed upon and because of their lack of documentation it was their word against ours. It was clear that they took advantage of a young customer and the TOTAL COST OF PROCEDURE WAS NOT DISCUSSED PRIOR TO SERVICE. They also do not have a payment plan and you will get billed extra $5 service charge if you use your credit card.

Loved this vet office for years.. Techs are wonderful and caring as well as the docs. What I disagree with is the practice does not believe in sedating your animal prior to euthanasia. I had a horrible experience watching my sweet little dog leave this earth yelling and clawing at me. I did speak to the doc about the practice and was told the sedation may kill the dog causing a much more painful death. I have called multiple practices and no one else does this.. I am truly sorry I feel I can not go back to the practice with my new dog. I hope in the future they will change their practice and help the animals have an easier death.

I absolutely love this vet. Dr. Gibbs is amazing. He is unbelievably friendly and I am so glad I found him. He is great with my dog and treats him like his own. He understands how nervous out dog is and handles it great. They always work with you to get an appointment and they have an online portal which is super helpful. I moved to Clayton and still make the drive here to see Dr. Gibbs. I would 100% recommend this vet for anyone who is in need of a change.

Hilltop Animal Hospital is a great place. I take both of my dogs here for any care they need, and I will not take them anywhere else. The staff at HAH are more caring and professional to my dogs and me than any other veterinarian I have ever been to. Their prices are comparable to other veterinary hospitals in the area, but the level of service and kindness you will experience here sets them far above their peers. A great bunch of people, and I highly recommend them!

I have taken my 2 dogs and 2 cats to Hilltop Vet for the last 2 1/2 years that Dr. Gibbs has owned the practice. I came to him with a very sick dog (massive skin infection brought about by allergies). He worked diligently to cure the infection and then to confirm it was not food related. We worked closely to determine a reasonable course of action to keep whatever trigger (basically the environment) from bringing back the infection (Atopica was key). Dr. Gibbs and the rest of his team have been incredible in understanding the needs of my pets' health and the limit of my budget. While I live in Apex and could go to a number of vets in the local area, I have continued to go to Hilltop and Dr. Gibbs because of their fantastic care.

Dog spay by Dr. GibbsWe recently had our puppy spayed by Dr. Gibbs with a new minimally invasive technique. He did the procedure through two small incisions the size of my finger (5mm). Our dog went home the same day and did not need any of her pain medication. I think he is one of only a few practices in the area to offer this service. Great staff. We were very pleased with our experience.

This vet was the absolute WORST person, human, vet around. 5 years ago, i went to him. Everytime i would go in, he would make me feel like a horrible mommie to my dog (my dog was spoiled ROTTEN) He told me my dog had cancer and went on to tell me about another dog who died from this cancer. I was 9 months pregnant and horrified at the thought of all this. THankfully I had a friend refer me to another vet before I had the surgery done. Luckily, the other vet said it was an infection and gave us antibiotics and he was perfect. I wouldn't sent a roach to this man. I heard he isn't there anymore and thank the good lord for that!!!!

Our experience with Hilltop Animal Hospital has been a very traumatic one. We brought our beloved pet Cassie in to be euthanized after much thought, consideration and struggle. We agonized over the decision but ultimately came to the conclusion that her seizures were not giving her a good quality of life and were affecting her behavior adversely. We were asked to wait repeatedly while the tech- Brittany- answered the phone, got things together, helped other people etc. While we waited we were tormented with our feelings and it made everything so much more difficult. When we were finally put in a room in was only momentary because they then wanted to take her to another room to give her a shot - Why? . Instead of allowing her to be peaceful after the shot of demerol she had to be moved yet again to receive the injection to euthanize her. While being euthanized - Brittany- held her as if she was going to attack. Again - Why? What is wrong with these people. She was so drugged from the demerol you should have allowed her owners to hold her peacefully and she would just go to sleep. What was the point of the demerol then? Why treat her that way? I am just trying to focus on the fact that Cassie does not have to suffer any longer from her seizures.The experience of euthanizing Cassie at Hilltop was an experience that I would not wish on anyone. I don't know how anybody can treat others as callously and uncaring as we were treated and then still sleep at night. On top of all the eye rolling and delayed treatment the charge was double what I was expecting. I made a few calls to area vets and their charge is more than double that of the others. The range was 68 to 75. Hilltop charged 145.00. To take advantage of people when they are making this type of decision is just unthinkable.
