Scheduled an appointment for my dog online for Dr. Ashley at 1 PM on 5/30/19, wonderful, I'll drive 40 mins and have my dog's problematic eye assessed. Only snag in this process is - upon arrival at 1 PM promptly, I was told that the vet is not there today thus making my aforementioned appointment null and void. No contact was made with me to indicate that fact. I was then told I could reschedule to Saturday at 4 PM (2 days later). Hopefully in 2 days' time my pup's eye will miraculously be healed, and in that time Banfield can revamp their lackluster website to display accurate information thus resulting in a proper customer service experience. I used Banfield's pet plan in Austin, TX with hardly any snags, I moved back to NC to discover inept business practices. Stay away, just go elsewhere. It was the techs first day, she had NO idea what she was doing. She was using my dog as her guinea pig. She did the anal gland thing where they test for worms on him, and didn't know what the hell she was doing, it took her three separate times! My dog was upset and freaking out because she wasn't comforting, was barley holding him & no dog should have to have that three times back to back because the person I'm PAYING doesn't know what they're doing. They're extremely unprofessional, someone who has never been to school for being a vet technician , like myself, would do a better job. My parents have used the location to care for their beloved dog Domino, and I have heard nothing but great things about the team at this location, and Drs. Templeton & Burns. The team was especially caring and nurturing today after my mom had to take Domino there for an emergency appointment, which ended with Domino dying from heart problems. The team was patient allowing my mom time to say goodbye in her own way, and nurse Zach had taken time to explain her options for Domino's remains. I would recommend this location to others and although I am not a pet owner, will keep Banfield in mind as this experience has set the bar for all Banfield locations. Read Less

Vet, Dr. P was the most unsympathetic woman I have ever met. She didn't care about my dog at all. She didn't care about our concerns. All she cared about was billing us and making sure we paid top dollar. She didn't explain what was being done to my dog. I brought her in because she had a lot of blood in her stool and at one point pooped a gooey bloody slime. She acted like it was no rush and no concern. She "did an exam" but not in front of us. She didn't touch my dog at all while we were there able to watch. She didn't check her nose, her teeth, feel her stomach, nothing. She automatically gave us a run down of costs which was going to be $717, we couldn't afford it so she got us to apply for a credit card (seriously?) to pay for it. I asked her to just do the X-ray ($300 with all of what was required to get it done) and she said no she has to do all of it or she can't do any of it. Including things my dog just got tested for the week before or didn't really seem necessary. She refused to let us do the wellness plan because my dog came in as "sick" though she marked on her paper that she was healthy and nothing seemed abnormal. So I got approved and she then asked me how much I got approved for, I told her $4,000 and then she upped the charge to $970! I didn't understand why so every time I asked she said "oh because she needs it" but why? Why does she need to have something checked that I had checked at her usual vet one weeks prior? She refused to talk about it other than guilting me into it because my dog is my service dog so I needed to make sure she was okay. So she took her back into the "hospital" where she ran "tests" and did x rays and have her some IV that I still don't know what had in it. She doesn't call to update us, she just says to go back at 4:30. She convinced us that it was mandatory to have a nurse with her ($220) or she'd be in a cage by herself the whole time. So of course I pay for it, not understanding why if my dog is being brought in for internal bleeding that she'd be stuck in a kennel? So we go back and she tells me "she's lucky that she didn't lick her catheder because we usually have to use e collars but we didn't have to with her since she didn't lick" EXCUSE ME?!?!? I BRING MY DOG IN BECAUSE IM WORRIED SHE HAS INTERNAL BLEEDING AND YOU CONTEMPLATED USING A SHOCK COLLAR ON HER WHILE AHE HAD A NEEDLE IN HER ARM?!? Ontop of that if you were going to use an E collar WHY DID I PAY $220 FOR A NURSE TO BE WITH HER THE WHOLE TIME?!? I was livid at this point. She tells me everything looked fine but there was a small obstruction in her lower intestine but it wasn't too worry some. So she instructs us to go back the next day to get more x rays and do essentially everything all over again except the blood work and that "it won't cost as much but it'll still be like $700 we just don't have to do blood work but she absolutely needs this so she must come back tomorrow" so I'm thinking, no. Why? If it's so dangerous and she needs to come back why doesn't she just stay to get whatever is wrong fixed? Oh that's because NOTHING is wrong according to the vet but just to be sure I have to pay $1700 just in case something decides to pop up over night. Are you kidding me? There was never any care or update for sympathy. It was, here's your bill, oh and you absolutely have no choice in coming back tomorrow and you'll have to pay this again. So reluctantly I paid $1000 and booked an appointment for the following day because she refused to let me have my dog without making an appointment. We obviously skipped the appointment and had to drive back out there (40 mins) because she didn't make the Cd with her xrays on them for us to take home. She also didn't follow up call or call to see if we were able to go to the appointment. She didn't care she just wanted to be paid. I looked over the paper work and she put on everything that my dog was healthy and had nothing abnormal. So why the hell did I just pay $1000 for saline and why was she trying to get me to pay another $700 to do the same things over again? They left her in a tiny cage for 7 whole hours, I was livid. I even called multiple times to check and see if she was done, the staff member who answered was very rude to me on the phone and almost seemed as it was a joke that I was appalled that my dog had been left there for 7 hours and had not been looked at by a doctor. They could have at least told me ahead of time that my dog would get left in a cage for hours instead of me waiting around wondering what the hell was going on. Finally I just went in there and told them to give me my dog and that I was never coming here again. HORRIBLE SERVICE. If you have any compassion for your dogs you will NOT take them here. Read Less

Very unprofessional staff. I arrived 15 minutes early for a 0945 appointment. There were two vet assistants at the counter-one on the phone and with a customer and one just looking at a computer. There was hardly anyone else in the entire store--meaning they weren't busy at all. It took the woman looking at the computer 5 minutes to even acknowledge my presence. When she finally looked up my appointment she told me I was early and I would have to come back at 0945 to check in.
When I came back at 0945 the other assistant was the only one at the counter. She was on the computer. And did not acknowledge me at all even though my dog is a rambunctious people lover and was making plenty of effort to get noticed.
This type of piss poor attitude and crappy customer service is what drives customers away. This isn't the first time this has happened to me at a Banfield. I have already cancelled my account and will steer my friends away from here as well. Do yourself and your pet a favor--go to a real established veterinarian and not a shake and bake mass production one like Banfield. Read Less

Our dog has had a skin problem for awhile now and we keep going back to Banfield for answers. Yet all the vet will tell us is that we can do an allergy test for $250. Well, we found out today that there are other options that cost a great deal less. However, no one there seems to care about our dogs suffering skin. Dr.Perry remembers me and my husband every time and details about our puppy discussed at previous visits. You can see her genuine love for animals in the way she handles our dog and cares for him with such love! She is very thorough in answering all our questions as new pet owners, and explains everything in depth and makes sure we understand. My dog is a people dog and she hates everybody there to include the vets!! On the day of her dental cleaning I called them around 1:30 pm assuming that they had at least started, no. When I asked the tech answered the phone she informed me that the procedure hadn't even been started. I had to make arrangements with work to pick her up at the time I was told, well since they hadn't even started I was going to have to change my arrangements, when I asked the tech what was going on, when I could get my dog I was told ""I don't know!"". I then asked to talk to someone that did know, I was told someone would call me when they knew something... I told her that was unacceptable and I needed to speak to someone that could tell me what was going on, she just repeated herself!! To top it all off, while they weren't doing anything with my dog they let her sit in a cage for hours without taking her out to go to the bathroom, the kicker here is I just took her to the same vet for a urinary track infection!! How stupid can you be!! I have approximately 5 to 6 months left on my pet plan that I have signed a contract for that I refuse to use! I thought I was doing my research by checking out the office and getting details on the plans before purchasing. At first glace it all sounded great. I made an appointment for my pets to get one shot, during that visit my opinion drastically changed. Before the appointment I had decided to purchase a plan for each pet. After checking in at the front desk I waited in the exam room for over 45 minutes before a Vet Tech even showed up (this is for a scheduled appt). Then they wanted to do their ""process of tests"" on both dogs then. All I wanted was a kennel cough vaccine. At the time they were 5 months premature for their yearly vaccines, so I was shocked when they wanted to give it to them then. I refused and said I'd bring them back when their annual shots were due. Since that visit I've been there 3 times, each time I have to wait for a while just to get check-in/out. Then they gave me the wrong dosage of flea/tick med. I didn't notice this until a few days later. So I thought, well this should be an easy fix. I go back to the store and tell them that a staff memeber has given me the wrong dose and I'd just like to get that fixed. I wait.. I wait and I wait some more. Come to find out they don't sell the brand anymore (mind you this is 6 days after I purchased it) and don't know how to refund me. This struck me as clearly disfunctional that I was given the wrong stuff by a staff memeber and they can't fix it. I was there for 45 minutes before they offered a resolution. During the 45 minutes, I was in line, the girl working the desk put me on hold and took care of the 3 customers behind me and then when I was the only person there she goes to the back to get someone out to help me... Seriously now, how completely backward is this? If she was not capable of handling my situation, does it make sense to wait until I've been there for 40 minutes before getting help??? I couldn't help but laugh as I walked out of the store... because Petsmart had a center aisle stand selling the very brand that Banfield said they no longer sold. I know they aren't the same business but COME ON... I would NEVER recommend this Banfield to anyone. I doubt that I'll ever go to one again. Read Less

So she instructs us to go back the next day to get more x rays and do essentially everything all over again except the blood work and that "it won't cost as much but it'll still be like $700 we just don't have to do blood work but she absolutely needs this so she must come back tomorrow" so I'm thinking, no. Why? If it's so dangerous and she needs to come back why doesn't she just stay to get whatever is wrong fixed? Oh that's because NOTHING is wrong according to the vet but just to be sure I have to pay $1700 just in case something decides to pop up over night. Are you kidding me? There was never any care or update for sympathy. It was, here's your bill, oh and you absolutely have no choice in coming back tomorrow and you'll have to pay this again. So reluctantly I paid $1000 and booked an appointment for the following day because she refused to let me have my dog without making an appointment. We obviously skipped the appointment and had to drive back out there (40 mins) because she didn't make the Cd with her xrays on them for us to take home. She also didn't follow up call or call to see if we were able to go to the appointment. She didn't care she just wanted to be paid. I looked over the paper work and she put on everything that my dog was healthy and had nothing abnormal. So why the hell did I just pay $1000 for saline and why was she trying to get me to pay another $700 to do the same things over again? I want a refund and I will be filing a complaint with their corporate. Read Less

We had to put our kitten down after taking her to a different vet. She had an intestinal infection that had turned fatal. They left her in a tiny cage for 7 whole hours, I was livid. I even called multiple times to check and see if she was done, the staff member who answered was very rude to me on the phone and almost seemed as it was a joke that I was appalled that my dog had been left there for 7 hours and had not been looked at by a doctor. They could have at least told me ahead of time that my dog would get left in a cage for hours instead of me waiting around wondering what the hell was going on. Finally I just went in there and told them to give me my dog and that I was never coming here again. HORRIBLE SERVICE. If you have any compassion for your dogs you will NOT take them here. Read Less

Very unprofessional staff. I arrived 15 minutes early for a 0945 appointment. There were two vet assistants at the counter-one on the phone and with a customer and one just looking at a computer. There was hardly anyone else in the entire store--meaning they weren't busy at all. It took the woman looking at the computer 5 minutes to even acknowledge my presence. When she finally looked up my appointment she told me I was early and I would have to come back at 0945 to check in.
When I came back at 0945 the other assistant was the only one at the counter. She was on the computer. And did not acknowledge me at all even though my dog is a rambunctious people lover and was making plenty of effort to get noticed.
This type of piss poor attitude and crappy customer service is what drives customers away. This isn't the first time this has happened to me at a Banfield. I have already cancelled my account and will steer my friends away from here as well. Do yourself and your pet a favor--go to a real established veterinarian and not a shake and bake mass production one like Banfield. Read Less

I have been taking my pets to this Banfield hospital for over a year now. It all started when I took my kitty in for what I thought was a bladder infection. Dr. K noticed something wasn't right, turned out my kitty was diabetic. Now his diabetes is managed and he is healthy. Dr. K saved my kitties life. Our dog has had a skin problem for awhile now and we keep going back to Banfield for answers. Yet all the vet will tell us is that we can do an allergy test for $250. Well, we found out today that there are other options that cost a great deal less. However, no one there seems to care about our dogs suffering skin. We are on the wellness plan so everything is covered about $40 a month, where as at the Previous vet we were paying upwards of $150 per visit. Dr.Perry remembers me and my husband every time and details about our puppy discussed at previous visits. You can see her genuine love for animals in the way she handles our dog and cares for him with such love! She is very thorough in answering all our questions as new pet owners, and explains everything in depth and makes sure we understand. I originally signed up for a pet plan in order to get my dog's teeth cleaned. since I have substandard service since!! The service techs aren't pet friendly at all!! My dog is a people dog and she hates everybody there to include the vets!! On the day of her dental cleaning I called them around 1:30 pm assuming that they had at least started, no. When I asked the tech answered the phone she informed me that the procedure hadn't even been started. I had to make arrangements with work to pick her up at the time I was told, well since they hadn't even started I was going to have to change my arrangements, when I asked the tech what was going on, when I could get my dog I was told ""I don't know!"". I then asked to talk to someone that did know, I was told someone would call me when they knew something... I told her that was unacceptable and I needed to speak to someone that could tell me what was going on, she just repeated herself!! To top it all off, while they weren't doing anything with my dog they let her sit in a cage for hours without taking her out to go to the bathroom, the kicker here is I just took her to the same vet for a urinary track infection!! How stupid can you be!! I have approximately 5 to 6 months left on my pet plan that I have signed a contract for that I refuse to use! I will have to pay the remaining balance on the contract but I will take her to her old vet. Chalk it up to a lose before I loose my dog for good, they just don't care!! Read Less

I thought I was doing my research by checking out the office and getting details on the plans before purchasing. At first glace it all sounded great. I made an appointment for my pets to get one shot, during that visit my opinion drastically changed. Before the appointment I had decided to purchase a plan for each pet. After checking in at the front desk I waited in the exam room for over 45 minutes before a Vet Tech even showed up (this is for a scheduled appt). Then they wanted to do their ""process of tests"" on both dogs then. All I wanted was a kennel cough vaccine. At the time they were 5 months premature for their yearly vaccines, so I was shocked when they wanted to give it to them then. I refused and said I'd bring them back when their annual shots were due. Since that visit I've been there 3 times, each time I have to wait for a while just to get check-in/out. Then they gave me the wrong dosage of flea/tick med. I didn't notice this until a few days later. So I thought, well this should be an easy fix. I go back to the store and tell them that a staff memeber has given me the wrong dose and I'd just like to get that fixed. I wait.. I wait and I wait some more. Come to find out they don't sell the brand anymore (mind you this is 6 days after I purchased it) and don't know how to refund me. This struck me as clearly disfunctional that I was given the wrong stuff by a staff memeber and they can't fix it. I was there for 45 minutes before they offered a resolution. During the 45 minutes, I was in line, the girl working the desk put me on hold and took care of the 3 customers behind me and then when I was the only person there she goes to the back to get someone out to help me... Seriously now, how completely backward is this? If she was not capable of handling my situation, does it make sense to wait until I've been there for 40 minutes before getting help??? I couldn't help but laugh as I walked out of the store... because Petsmart had a center aisle stand selling the very brand that Banfield said they no longer sold. I know they aren't the same business but COME ON... I would NEVER recommend this Banfield to anyone. I doubt that I'll ever go to one again. Read Less
