VISIT YELP FOR THE LONGER VERSION: I don't usually leave negative reviews for doctors or vets, because I think they often get blamed for events outside their control. I'll preface this review with saying that we had good interactions with Dr. Edwards (NOT Zobel, who we had terrible experiences with) in the four years since we moved to Garner. However, recent events dictate that we will not return, and we can't recommend this business to any other pet owners. Two missed diagnoses and our cat was dead within 24 hours after leaving their care, where they said he was getting much better. Here's the real kicker to the story, and perhaps it more infuriating than the missed diagnoses (which I understand happens): They released him to us, telling us that he was getting better when he clearly wasn't. I'm not a vet, and I could tell that when we got him home. I wonder if they even looked at him. If they knew he was dying, they should have told us. If they missed the signs of pain and weakness that were obviously there, then they're terrible at their jobs. There's no good way around that one. They built up our hope that he was getting better, and then he died. Second: I called Monday after he died to tell the vet techs what happened so they could relay the message to Dr. Edwards. I would have assumed that, being a professional, she (or one of her reps) would have called us back, sent a card, something. But nothing. We called to let them know that a pet they released on Saturday morning died Sunday morning, and we've heard nothing. We called and left three messages with the receptionists, but nothing. I waited a week before posting to see if anyone would reach out to us from GAH, but no one did. Edwards does seem to try to keep the costs down, so I guess that's a good thing for a lot of people. She's friendly. I would say that, if you have to get lower-cost vet care for typical problems, this is a good facility (if you go with Edwards and NOT ZOBEL). If your pet needs something more involved, please get a second opinion or visit a different vet. Read Less

This for Sammy Hopkins!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I have a BIG problem with this Vet! If that's what call themelves. I took a baby cat 10 months old to be de-clawed, Never expected the call I received saying I have bad news for you. He didn't make it. The same day!! he was very viral and healthy. They screwed up the name, cat procedure, several times and also the date and time to be done. The day that we brought him in, to be de-clawed never to see him again. We had no clue. They were so dis-organized and rushed is why my baby died. They said they would squeeze him in he didn't have an appointment, we most certainly had an appointment, we should have never left him. But thought they were professionals and wouldn't kill my baby. I am still grieving to this day he was the most loving, sweet and laid back cat I have ever had. I am 62 years old and have had 12-15 cats in my life. He was precious to all that had any contact with him. He had a HELL of a life for short time he was alive. HOW DARE THEM!!!!!!!!!!!He has been gone now for 5 1/2 weeks thanks to them. I will never take any pet there again. Something as simple as being de-clawed, you should never have to pick your dead Kitten up cold and have to bury it!! Damn Them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Read Less

Here's our experiences over nearly five years. First visit was a routine exam for all my critters. Glowing reports yet a month later my cat died of cancer. During a routine canine visit Edwards said she'd know if my dogs were walked by the condition of their nails. When the nails confirmed they're exercised often Edwards didn't give an apology. When one of my dogs got fleas Zolbe said my house needed to be fumigated and yet none of the human adults in the house were itching from bites neither did my other dog nor cat have fleas. What lousy advise! They're poor with pets and humans! Read Less

I first came to Garner Animal Hospital with a very sick, senior kitty I had eventually to let go. I came to GAH after reading many positive reviews, and from a dismal, cold experience at my previous Vet's. It was a heartbreaking experience to have to let my kitty go, but Dr. Zobol and the staff there are calm, compassionate, and I can't say enough good things about all of them. I have since brought all my animals to GAH for routine treatment, as well as a surgery, and my opinion of the doctors and staff there continues to be held in the highest regard. If you are looking for compassionate, quality, professional service, then this is your places for your furry loved ones. Read Less

I've known the staff at GAH for years. They are the most informative, compassionate, and competent staff of professionals, who deal with animals I have ever met. I came to GAH back in 1965 and still continue to take my dogs from Knightdale to Garner. I have the utmost confidence in GAH. I am sorry for all the negative reviews I read, but I guess everyone has a bad day sometimes, huh? Read Less
