We have been going here for years. Our house has two dogs and a cat. Last week one of our older dogs got really sick and I thought she was ready to move on from this place. Dr Hovis had me bring her in 3 days in a row and he watched her closely. She went from deaths door, to acting like a puppy again. Is Very Difficult to bring in my dog (7+months old) when he needs to be seeing. *!No room for Appointment!*? Situations happen Unexpectedly to Pets. *I feel Available Space for unexpected circumstances should be apply to this facility*. Our Pet is not a Stranger to that clinic. Went to Dickson because I needed a vet who cared. My dog is old and needed a female doctor. He prefers female vets. Dr Whitesell fits the bill in more ways than one. Dr Hovis is the most amazing vet. He will answer any questions and doesn't try to charge you for things you don't need for your pet. He truly loves what he does. He takes his time with your pet as if it was his own. And the ladies in the front are wonderful also. Robin is the best. I will never take my dog anywhere else! Read Less

If there was an option for zero stars I would have given that. I found a stray puppy in my neighborhood this morning, and after combing my neighborhood looking for an owner that wasn't out looking for their lost dog, a friend (client of Dickson) suggested that I take the dog there to see if it was chipped. My friend also said that if there was no chip, she would pick up the dog later in the day and look for the owner, or keep it herself. This is one of Dickson's LONG time clients. She has been taking her dogs there for over 12 years. I took the dog, they looked for a chip, but there wasn't one. I asked them if they could hold onto the dog until their client came to get her. All I got in response was, "we can't take stray dogs" repeatedly as if the woman was a parrot. I again explained that I was on my way to work, about to be fired for being so late, and that THEIR client was coming to get the dog. If they had any questions to contact THEIR client. Again, here come the parrot statements, "we can't take a stray dog" I do understand that a Vet cannot take in every stray dog that comes along, however, this dog was being picked up same day by THEIR client. They said I could call animal control. I asked if they could call, since I was already an hour late for work. They said NO. They gave me some wonderful advice (sarcasm) drive around to other vets and see if one of them would take the dog. Again....my job, work, late, fired. This was not an option. This establishment is NOT interested in helping animals, only MONEY. Although had they called my friend as suggested, she would have told them to vaccinate the dog, before she came to pick it up. But, they just couldn't be bothered to do ANYTHING to help me or this sweet dog out. Shame on them. I recently had to have my dog of 14 years put down, but when I get another dog, I will NEVER take it to this vet. Nor would I recommend this place to anyone else. Read Less

Great establishment! Clean, accommodating, friendly staff. Different parts of the building are isolated, to minimize your pet having to confront other pets. Dr. Whitesell is amazing. She's extremely friendly, caring, and gentle. I brought my kitten in for an eye injury. Dr. Whitesell knew exactly what to do, and the injury healed up with no issues. My cat actually liked her too, which says a lot. She will be our vet from now on. Read Less

They really are the BEST anywhere. I have been taking my dogs and cats to them since they opened years and years ago and I have never had a reason to go anywhere else. All of the vets are wonderful but a special shout out to Dr. Hovis who always seems to be there whenever something really serious comes up. He stayed until midnight one night performing emergency surgery on my golden retriever--and that was after he had worked all day long. Without Dr. Hovis, she would have died.
