The doctors here are talented and the prices are very fair it is very convenient that they let you do walk-in appointments. I have never had a problem they're my only complaint is that some of the staff are sort of well kind of rude or dismissive. A lot of it may have to do with the area in which they work because they are low-cost they run into a lot of jerks. Even so I am happy to take my animals to them repeatedly and have always been happy with their services and fair prices. Keep in mind that I am a 31-year veterinary technician and laboratory animal technologist so I know good service when I see it. Great and wonderful staff they have always met the needs for all of my animals. All of the doctors here are very knowledgeable and very informative. They answer all of the questions or concerns you may have with great care. The whole staff here is amazing! Not sure how there could be any bad reviews here. The whole facilty is wonderful. Yesterday, i had to make the hardest decision to have my 14 year old schnauzer put to sleep. Dr Cristobal was truly one of the best Veternarians to have there during a time like that. She was very caring and understanding, the entire staff was. Losing Trooper was very difficult , but the folks in this office made things as easy and comfortable as they could be. I’m so sad to have gotten the news last night that a very good friend of mine has lost his best friend Lacey to a blood infection. I don’t usually humanize pets but Lacey was a person in a dogs body. For the past 12 years she was a faithful companion to my friend and he truly treated her like his own child. You would be hard pressed to find a better cared for animal. I’m also deeply saddened to know that her death was due to the negligence of Gaston Veterinary Hospital. You were approached with a sick dog and a deposit but still cared more about the bottom line than the life of this beautiful girl. You took the money, gave sub-standard treatment, and just dropped her. I truly feel like I’ve lost a family member. Shame on you. And then to add insult to injury, when confronted about the matter decided to attempt to shift blame off of yourselves and instead falsely accuse Lacey’s owner of being neglectful. Flat out said that they did not consider him a paying customer because of his being on a payment plan and not a full payment customer. Very poor quality business practices. Read Less

Amazing! Dr Pearman went out of her way to make sure we were comfortable! We brought our dog in to be neutered and we were very nervous, to the point we almost changed our minds. She met us outside like literally outside and walked us through everything she was gunna do. She was amazing we felt very comfortable with her. Loved this place so much! I strongly dislike this clinic based on its highly valued medicine prices. This clinic has tripled the cost of my dog's medicine knowing the fact that you can buy them else where for a much better price. This clinic has disrespectful staff members that give attitude to their customers and make me feel as if they are doing a favor for me and my family. This clinic has refused to sell me an allergy medicine that is one my dear sweetie has to take for the rest of his years because I told them I did not have the money to schedule an appointment knowing that my dear is a patient at this hospital. The sales person shrugged her shoulders in an uncaring manner. I believe that this hospital only cares for their clients money and not prioritizing the life of a decent animal. Read Less

I take my cockapoo puppy, WINKY, here and I love it . I never have to wait and they are nice to me and my baby. Prices are reasonable/affordable and the vets are good. Thank you for the service. I will spay her when is time around 6 months. :) highly recommend. Read Less

My Great Dane puppy got really sick, I had to take him to the emergency clinic, if not he would have died, they keep him over night to give IV fluids, (parvo) test came back negative, they could not figure out what was wrong with him, when I picked him up the next morning he looked the same as he did the night before, I immediately took him to Gaston Veterinary Clinic, they told me he would have to stay the day, run more IV fluids in him and took EXCELLENT care of him (the girls there really spoiled him), they ran blood work and ran x-rays on him, when I picked him up, he was back to his self, I can not thank them enough for how well they took care of my puppy. I would recommend them to ANYONE. The staff is wonderful, the doctors are caring and wonderful. And did I mention they are cheap for how well they take care of your fur babies.Read Less

We live in Charlotte and have been bringing our dog and cat here for their medical care and boarding for the last 9 years. My dog has separation anxiety, but never has a problem going with one of the friendly faces in the office. I love the doctors and office staff! Read Less

Not sure what the motivation is behind these negative reviews. I have NEVER had a bad visit or experience at Gaston Veterinary Hospital. I personally find the staff very cordial and always helpful. As for the Doctors, I find it hard to believe that you could find a more knowledgeable group of healthcare professionals anywhere. Read Less

Extremely rude and Unknowledgeable front desk staff. Our first experience was when my cat was hit by a car on a Friday. I was able to see him Saturday but he was in a metal crate beside barking dogs without any blankets and his IV pump was not plugged in. Sunday I was unable to reach anyone in regards to how he was doing because the clinic was closed. Monday they said he was almost ready to go home with me but I knew he wasn't feeling well so I transferred him to another hospital. There I found out he had a broken rib, jaw, severe brain damage and had lost sight and hearing. I had only been told about his jaw being broken at Gaston Veterinary. Our second time visiting was for some easy stitches for my dog. The veterinarian was kind and knowledgable but once again, front staff completely rude. After stitching my dog they sent him home with me completely sedated! A 90lb dog completely knocked out! He should be under veterinary supervision until awake and should have stayed the day. If I hadn't worked for a veterinary clinic before, I wouldnt have brought him home, but they don't know my experience. They didn't even tell me what to watch for and expect. It scares me to think of someone who knows little about their animals taking home a pet completely sedated. Additionally I never signed a release form for sedation or got an estimate before hand. Next emergency visit I'll suck it up for the drive to Charlotte. Never again will I come here. Read Less

My aunt's dog was taken here for all of his life. There were numerous times that they did something without asking before they took it upon themselves to do it. They pulled 9 of his teeth and did not tell her they were going to do it until it was already done. They sedated him when they groomed him and didn't let her know until they already done it. The last thing they did, I believe is the reason he is no longer with us, is pull an abscessed tooth without first administering antibiotics. They gave him antibiotics after they pulled it but it was to late the infection spread to his kidneys and he died from kidney failure. I will no longer be taking any of my pets here and I am also going to be telling everyone about this tragedy. He was a wonderful dog and is greatly missed. Read Less
