Please do your research and ask questions before selecting this company! I was told over the phone it would be $25 for an initial exam fee. When I arrived, I was given no consultation or breakdown of treatment costs that I would incur beyond the initial exam fee. At check out I was told the bill was $450 for the lab work and treatment for pancreaitis. When I did not readily have the funds available, I was treated like a thug on the street and told I could not leave until the balance was paid. This was very awkward and intimidating and I felt like a hostage. When they finally agreed to let me leave, I was asked to release my social security number and all precriptions were withheld. Later that day, they received payment and I was allowed to pick up the scripts that I needed for my dog. I called back 12 days later to request a refill of precription dog food and to ask follow up questions. I was told that Dr. Clark would call me back to answer my questions. Instead, I received a message on my voicemail 7 hours later reprimanding me for not physically bringing my dog in for a follow up checkup. This was the 2nd time I was made to feel disrespected. There will not be a 3rd time as this is an unacceptable way to handle new clients. The only plus to this bizarre experience is that everyone loved my dog and she was treated with more dignity and respect than I was. Read Less

After going elsewhere and being treated like a dollar sign, this place was a breath of fresh air. Everyone was so nice and concerned about the wellbeing of my pup. All of the staff seem very knowledgeable, even the receptionist. Dr. Janet and her tech, Frank, were so good with my puppy. I didn't feel like we were being rushed out just to rush in another client. Oh my goodness, I couldn't be happier! We had a major emergency with our cat Suki (age 9). One night she started acting strange, walking gingerly in a crouched position like stalking but from room to room. Our normal tree cat (Likes high places) started hiding under things. First thing in the morning we called Adams Farm Animal Hospital and they got us right in even though we were new patients (having just moved to NC) and saw Suki right away. Thank goodness because shortly after we got Suki out of her carrier SHE STARTED BLEEDING from the rear end. Yeah, I freaked right out. Dr. Janet knew right away what was wrong and treated her for an abscessed anal gland. We're currently on day two and my kitty is already back to her normal self. Playing with ribbon, eating, and drinking. Her wound, while we're carefully treating it at home as prescribed by Dr. Janet is very clean and small. And Suki is thrilled with the Pill Pocket treats that the staff recommended we get her for her prescription antibiotics and pain medications. The staff also helped us get set up with their credit system so we could afford all of this treatment for Suki, which only came to around $300. ONLY $300! For an emergency visit and new patient setup, surgery, AND medication and the soft cone of shame and soap for her wound care! I've been a client since they opened in 1990 and I would not take any pet of mine anywhere else. One of my dogs ingested a bad toxin, and was having seizures. Doctor Janet stayed with the dog, took her to one of those round the clock emergency places for overnight care and stayed with our dog until she was stable late into the night. Some of Doctor Janet's staff have been with her since the 1990's. All are kind, caring and gentle with the animals. They always spend time to explain procedures, and call to check how the animal is progressing the next day. Doctor Causey is also great with the animals. Read Less

I was visiting North Carolina for a few months for work. While there, my yellow lab injured her knee. I ask a local colleague where to take my dog for a consultation and she recommended here. I was charged over $500 for sedation and two radiographs. Janet told me that my dog had a torn ACL and needed a surgery that costs $2300. Because I was moving back to Idaho two weeks later, I decided to get a second opinion from my regular vet back home. Once I got her in, my trusted vet did her own radiograph(without sedation) and showed me that Cali clearly just has severe arthritis, not a torn ACL, which means no surgery needed. Also, I was only charged $75 for a visit, radiographs, and anti-inflammatory. Adams Farm significantly overcharges and tries up selling thing that do not need to happen. Adams farm vet has always helped me in every way. Dr Janet has been by my side every step of the way through Buddy's cancer crisis. She calls and checks up on him and calls and talks to me and answers the million questions I ask her. They have come to my home and brought stretchers to get him to the office. The staff at that office is always available and knowledgeable about any question I may have and if they don't know the answer they check with the Dr and call me back. After making the decision to change Vets due to the less than caring care we had received elsewhere.  We can't be happier for our decision.  All the staff are caring, loving, compassionate and take the time to greet every pet.  Our dog is happy to go and seems to love it at AFV.  Dr. Cuasey is the bomb, takes the extra time to explain issues, offer solutions to problems and take the extra time to listen to our concerns.  My duaghter even noticed "That take extra time with us, the other Vet never talked with us that long" Read Less

We have been taking our dogs to AFAH for 20 years. We have had/have a 13lb baby that would take a finger off if you looked at her wrong, an escape artist and one who eats bandanas. Dr. Janet and her staff have always provided excellent care and above all lots of love to our babies. Dr. Causey and the entire staff are amazing with our dog. The entire staff from the minute we walk in is there to support our family and the needs of our dog. The receptionists come out to greet us, the support staff pet and play with our nervous dog to help make her comfortable... and everyone takes their time to ensure our fur baby is okay. Our Family would like to thank Dr. Janine Oliver and her entire staff ! We are still cautiously optimistic about Sumo Wasabi's full recovery . With that being said. We brought Sumo home almost 14 years ago! The cutest shiba Inu puppy! Little did we know the journey the little fluffy pup was going to take us on! He broke his growth plate when he was 3 months old and has 4 pins in his right shoulder, both back legs have had ACL repairs, he has brought home 3 dead copper heads and was bit by all of them! There are many many more crazy Sumo chapters ! Sumo has survived so much! In May he started violently digging and scratching his face! We were hopeless! Sumos quality of life was miserable! A family friend gave us Dr. Oliver's contact info and we are so grateful! Since May Dr. Oliver has been treating Sumo, she found a bacterial infection in his deformed jaw bone ( most likely from Copper Heads) and She found that Sumo is resistant to at least 5 antibiotics. Dr. Oliver continues to diligently treat Sumo and he seems to be on the road to well ville! For 13 years Vets have had to muzzle Sumo to do any kind of exam anywhere near Sumos face! First time Sumo met Dr. Oliver, she sat on the floor and Sumo let her open his mouth and examine it without any hesitation! I was amazed!!!! Desperate and of pure love for Sumo we were prepared to let Sumo go and be at peace, but Dr. Oliver stuck with us and look how good our sweet boy looks! Thank you so much! We are so grateful!!!!!'
