By far the best vet and staff in Greensboro! Over the years it is clear that Dr Amos and his staff have a genuine care and love for our dogs. One of our dogs is older and has dealt with a myriad of issues over the past few years and they have gone above and beyond the duties of a normal clinic to help make things easier for us and find every way possible for us to continue to enjoy our time with her. We cannot say enough good about Dr Amos and his staff at Battleground Veterinary Hospital. If it was possible to give a 10 star rating it wouldn't be enough. There has been more than one occasion where vets less capable (in my opinion) have stated that our dog was in such bad condition that thousands of dollars in surgery and rehabilitation would be required to bring our beloved canines back to life. NOPE just turned them over to Dr Amos and his incredible staff and it was as if nothing had happened and at pricing that doesn't send you to bankruptcy court! Read Less

Dr. Amos and his staff are terrific. We never wait, and the staff are always expecting us and know my dog's name. They are all caring and treat/relate to animals in a gentle/compassionate but completely competent way. I have a very timid dog who hides behind me or under my chair at the vet's office. On our first visit, rather than pull her out from under my chair for her exam, they talked quietly to her and lured her out from under the chair with bits of cheese. :-) Recently, my dog had to have a growth removed from her knee. Before deciding to remove it, Dr. Amos first aspirated it to collect cells and check them. They stain slides and do this on site. Removing the growth was a big deal, because the dog had to be anesthetized and get sutures. The care she got during and after the procedure was perfect. This is a safe and excellent practice to bring my animals to, and I am very glad they have a good vet! Read Less

I truly cannot say enough good things about BVH, Dr. Amos, and its staff. I don't know how many times our puppy was in in 2016 - more than I can count, and often on very short notice. Dr. Amos is great and I am so glad we found him. He is gentle with his exam/treatment (in our case dogs) and fully explains to us pet parents issues and options. He tried very hard to find a cure for a very rare problem with one of our dogs, much more so that the other three vets we saw for this condition. I highly recommend Dr. Amos and his great staff! Dr Amos and his entire staff are wonderful. They help us keep our animals healthy with well-priced, excellent regular care. They also have been able to help every time Barley did Labrador things - from pumping her stomach after the backyard-mushroom-incident, to conservative suggestions after seizures, and then back again to treating her thoughtfully after the doll socks/random rope/oh hey, there's a pillow that looks yummy incidents. My animals great each member of the team with joy that is reciprocated. I know they are well taken care of when I leave them for a procedure or drop then off early for a regular visit. Dr Amos takes his time to explain options for care and has excellent follow-up after any changes. My Dog actually likes going to Dr. Amos.  He takes his time with each and every dog and will discuss in great detail (or not i am sure if you prefer) the health of your dog.  He also gives great advice.  I feel like He spends time getting to know you and your dog and discussed treatment options and really does care about each animal that goes in.  He even brought me to the back to show me the microscope slide that his staff made because he knew i was a microbiologist and wanted to discuss it with me.  He truly does go above and beyond.  I have also recommended him to 2 coworkers and my brother and sister and they both adore Dr. Amos and the staff.  I also found that they don't charge an arm and a leg for everything.  They will work with you and let you know how much things cost so you can make an assessment as to whether you can afford each procedure and if it is necessary. Last, but not least important, he will go out of his way to personally call you if you have a problem with your animal.  My dog ate a giant dark chocolate candy bar and we could not afford the fee  for poison control so Dr. Amos personally called me and gave me signs and symptoms to watch out for as well treatments if it hadn't been so long since she ate it.  A staff member call  the next day to ask how our dog was doing.  They also did a follow up when my dog had a tooth extracted. Just got back from taking my doggie to her annual check-up visit. Once she walks through the door, she is wagging her tail uncontrollably, because the staff here is awesome! I never have to wait, even if I'm early.Dr. Amos is just wonderful. I can't say enough nice things. He always takes his time during our visit. He gives my girl plenty of treats to make her comfortable and sets down on the floor with her to "get on her level."One time, our girl had a bad bacterial infection and was dehydrated badly. I had to go to work, so Dr. Amos suggested I leave her there so she can stay on an IV all day. Once I was done with work, I was able to pick her up. Boy, did she look better! He didn't even charge me a boarding fee. You can tell he enjoys his work, and it shows. He's not in it for the money, because he tells you what your pet needs and what they don't. He even was kind enough to call me the next day to check in on our baby. He also let me return the special dog food that she didn't finish. I live in Kernersville, but I never thought once about transferring vets just because it's a more convenient drive. Go here if you want the best care for your fur baby! Read Less

Dr. Amos has treated my parents' dogs for many years, and came highly recommended. I took my two Mini Schnauzers in for their annual shots last week, and spent a good hour with Dr. Amos and his staff discussing the health of my "children" who will be eighteen on April 7. I learned a lot more in that hour than I had in fifteen years with my previous vet. Dr. Amos discussed different treatment options available, along with the merits and downsides of each. I never knew there was so much to consider! I highly recommend Dr. Amos to you and you "children" as he takes all sorts of animals.
