"BENESSERE" means WELLNESS in Italian.
Benessere Animal Hospital started as a wish — a wish that grew out of the heart of a doctor who was seeking to protect her passion for veterinary medicine. She knew there had to be a better way to completely care for — not merely treat — the veterinary patients that clients from all walks of life hold near and dear in their families. Her wish was to make sure that every one of her veterinary patients could receive her full attention and that she would be able to guide her clients to best care practices for the mind body and spirit of their companion animals. She saw veterinary medicine as art and practice becoming industrialized. She saw veterinary medicine attempting to copy the path of human medicine. She saw veterinary corporations treating patients like commodities instead of sentient beings. She knew she had to do something different. She wanted to care for her patients from cradle to far off grave to the best of her ability optimizing the wellness of her patients and working together with their guardians to protect the human-animal bond.
This model of care for our hospital was created with the hope and vision of bringing more quality life to more lives — from puppies and kittens to adults, seniors and geriatrics — by putting impersonal veterinary care practices and tactics aside, and embracing a comprehensive way of healing. Benessere Animal Hospital puts the patient at the heart of everything we do. We see patients as sentient beings — not invoices or algorithms — but unique individuals with their own personal story. And, because every animal is different, their veterinary care should be designed specifically for their unique needs and the personal goals of their guardians.

Left my dog here for medical boarding after a surgical area was resewn. Every time I called to check on my dog I was told my dog was healing and doing great. When I went to visit one of Dr Oliver’s employees informed me that the vet was lying about the condition of my dog and she was going to kill her if I left her at this facility. This is what was under the bandages when I removed her that day and took her to a emergency vet. Never trust this vet with any animal and do not go here! This picture tells you what you need to know. This vet looked at me on the day this picture was taken and said- I am healing your dog. Stay far away from her!!

I took my dog here for about 2-3 appointments before I switched vets. Dr. Oliver did not have the best bedside manner with my high energy dog and although I kept him from jumping on her, she still seemed unimpressed and made a comment when he brushed along her legs. I decided between the bad vibe I was getting and my dog's behavioral needs (he needs someone who will be patient with him & can be upbeat/reassuring while he is anxious), I decided to stop taking him to see Dr. Oliver and find a better fit for him.

Some animals have even died from her negligence. She is horrible to her employees, the staff constantly turns over and recently almost every employee their quit because of how abusive she is to them.

we took our french bulldog here for some health questions. the doctor proceeds to tell us our frenchie, who is ten years old, needs soft palette surgery, and has cushings disease and also has cancer and only has a 5% chance to live! what?? they put him on medicine that seemed to make him worse so we took him to NC State for a second opinion and after they checked him out, he does not need soft palette surgery, does not have cushings and for sure does not have cancer!!!! the "doctors" at benessere should be ashamed and i'm nervous for other people who have gone here who might have gotten bad news. always get a second option. thousands of dollars given to them to make my dog worse. i will never bring another one of my pets here.

Wonderful hospital and vet. Hospital clean, staff friendly and compassionate, love animals. We came here from another vet when our dog became to infirm to get in a car, requiring home visits. Dr. Oliver is simply....a great person. Always patient and kind with Sasha, tolerating her fear of strangers. She came to our house when it came time to put Sasha to sleep, made sure I understood every step of the process, and was quite gracious with my grief. I can't speak highly enough of this practice.

I have always had to inform vets of breed specific information. Dr Oliver immediately was able to tell me things I didn’t know and helped me make better diet choices for my best furry friend, Cocoa!

Had I have known the persona of this person, I would have went else where. I think my boy could have been saved if I had found another vet in time, but did not want to put him though more pain as Oliver was the 4th vet he had been to. Not recommended as far as I am concerned. Bad attitude and manner.

Dropped my very scared, 16 year old pup off today at Dr Oliver's for surgery on Monday. Had never met Dr Oliver until today and i have never in my life been more impressed with a vet. She was more than a comfort to me and my pup and ive never felt more safe with him under her care. My only regret is not finding this sweet, compassionate lady sooner. HIGHLY recommend her to anyone.

I switched to Dr. Oliver when I was in need of a vet that was open on Saturdays. She is by far the best vet I have taken my fur children to. I recently had a health scare with my chihuahua and Dr O was knowledge and caring, she made sure my little Bella went home happy and healthy. Her prices for standard visits are very reasonable as well. I also brought one of my cats there for his wellness visit and Dr. Oliver was able to provide some excellent advice for managing his weight, coat, and overall health as he gets older. I also learned that Benessere does so much to help local rescue animals! So if you bring your pet here (which I highly suggest) you are ensuring they receive amazing care and helping Dr Oliver to provide care to less fortunate pets in our community. Five stars all around.

I really like Dr. Oliver. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I liked how she was willing to utilize western, eastern, and many alternative modalities, always considering what is the best outcome for the animal. I had concerns about early spaying and over vaccinating, but Dr. Oliver understood my concerns. We shared the belief that the core of the pet's health is nutrition. Most importantly, she has heart. I liked the way she handled my dog, and the way my dog responded to her. When I asked her what the focus of her specific practice was, she said I want to care for your pet and help it have a quality life from the cradle to the grave. Add to that, her civic mindedness, her care for rescues and those often deemed unadoptable, and Dr. Oliver had my attention. This is what the world needs more of.

Dr Oliver is amazing. She is very attentive to your furry kids and extremely knowledgeable. She works with you to find the best solution to your pets problems, and trust me we know. We have a 14 year old senior with a lot of arthritis pain and a young pup with allergies. I trust her completely. Additionally, she does amazing work rescue groups and rescuing animals on her own (that's how we got one of our kittens and the pup). I can't recommend her enough.

As the owner of a dog training business in Greensboro, I come in contact with a lot of Vets in the area. Dr. Oliver is one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and caring Vets I know. An example of her compassion occured recently. A dog that I was working with cut his paws while running around before our obedience class. Without hesitation she offered to clean him up, even though it was after hours and he is not one of her clients. I, along with the dog's owners are very greatful for Dr. O!

My family and I were blessed to have Dr Oliver come into our lives about 14 months ago. Our little Shi-zu was very ill and two other doctors basically said it was time to give up after two blood transfusions and diabetes. Thankfully my dear friend who had also had a sick dog previous to mine told me how "Dr. O" saved her baby. After calling and meeting her, she made us feel that certainly there was a good chance she could turn our little Layla around. She was so comforting and reassuring that we felt a connection from the first minute with her. Fortunately, today we have our precious Layla with us, happy and feeling back to herself. We are also taking our 85l lb Goldendoodle to her as well. She has been amazing with him too. The office staff is friendly and accommodating, we really could not be any happier that we made the move and switched our babies over to Dr. O and her great staff!!

Dr Oliver is amazing. Very caring, very knowledgeable, and very reasonable in her approach to issues (and with 3 pets, we have a lot of issues!). I would recommend her and her practice to anyone. Team Awesome at Benessere for sure! Oh, and as if it isn't enough the great care she provides to our furkids, she also rescues animals and that's how we got our latest addition to the family, Mr Nutter Butters. 5 stars isn't enough for them.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Oliver and her team. We have seen many vets over the years and she is by far the best we've ever had!!! She is so caring and thorough! We first met Dr. Oliver in Charlotte when she treated our dog, Stella for parvovirus. Dr. Oliver saved her life and has continued to provide amazing, thoughtful, and loving care for all of our pets. Recently, Dr. Oliver is assisting us with our senior cat, Viola (17 yo). The time and attention she takes to ensure that Viola is comfortable is beautiful. I am so thankful to have her in our lives. Take your pets to Benessere! You won't regret it!!

Left my dog here for medical boarding after a surgical area was resewn. Every time I called to check on my dog I was told my dog was healing and doing great. When I went to visit one of Dr Oliver’s employees informed me that the vet was lying about the condition of my dog and she was going to kill her if I left her at this facility. This is what was under the bandages when I removed her that day and took her to a emergency vet. Never trust this vet with any animal and do not go here! This picture tells you what you need to know. This vet looked at me on the day this picture was taken and said- I am healing your dog. Stay far away from her!!

I took my dog here for about 2-3 appointments before I switched vets. Dr. Oliver did not have the best bedside manner with my high energy dog and although I kept him from jumping on her, she still seemed unimpressed and made a comment when he brushed along her legs. I decided between the bad vibe I was getting and my dog's behavioral needs (he needs someone who will be patient with him & can be upbeat/reassuring while he is anxious), I decided to stop taking him to see Dr. Oliver and find a better fit for him.

Some animals have even died from her negligence. She is horrible to her employees, the staff constantly turns over and recently almost every employee their quit because of how abusive she is to them.

we took our french bulldog here for some health questions. the doctor proceeds to tell us our frenchie, who is ten years old, needs soft palette surgery, and has cushings disease and also has cancer and only has a 5% chance to live! what?? they put him on medicine that seemed to make him worse so we took him to NC State for a second opinion and after they checked him out, he does not need soft palette surgery, does not have cushings and for sure does not have cancer!!!! the "doctors" at benessere should be ashamed and i'm nervous for other people who have gone here who might have gotten bad news. always get a second option. thousands of dollars given to them to make my dog worse. i will never bring another one of my pets here.

Wonderful hospital and vet. Hospital clean, staff friendly and compassionate, love animals. We came here from another vet when our dog became to infirm to get in a car, requiring home visits. Dr. Oliver is simply....a great person. Always patient and kind with Sasha, tolerating her fear of strangers. She came to our house when it came time to put Sasha to sleep, made sure I understood every step of the process, and was quite gracious with my grief. I can't speak highly enough of this practice.

I have always had to inform vets of breed specific information. Dr Oliver immediately was able to tell me things I didn’t know and helped me make better diet choices for my best furry friend, Cocoa!

WORST vet ever met, long story short. Oliver was not very "seemingly" concerned about my son "cat" except to say he only has some hours left. Rotten bed side manner, bad vibes from the start. Had I have known the persona of this person, I would have went else where. I think my boy could have been saved if I had found another vet in time, but did not want to put him though more pain as Oliver was the 4th vet he had been to. Not recommended as far as I am concerned. Bad attitude and manner.

Dropped my very scared, 16 year old pup off today at Dr Oliver's for surgery on Monday. Had never met Dr Oliver until today and i have never in my life been more impressed with a vet. She was more than a comfort to me and my pup and ive never felt more safe with him under her care. My only regret is not finding this sweet, compassionate lady sooner. HIGHLY recommend her to anyone.

I switched to Dr. Oliver when I was in need of a vet that was open on Saturdays. She is by far the best vet I have taken my fur children to. I recently had a health scare with my chihuahua and Dr O was knowledge and caring, she made sure my little Bella went home happy and healthy. Her prices for standard visits are very reasonable as well. I also brought one of my cats there for his wellness visit and Dr. Oliver was able to provide some excellent advice for managing his weight, coat, and overall health as he gets older. I also learned that Benessere does so much to help local rescue animals! So if you bring your pet here (which I highly suggest) you are ensuring they receive amazing care and helping Dr Oliver to provide care to less fortunate pets in our community. Five stars all around.

I really like Dr. Oliver. She has a wealth of knowledge and experience. I liked how she was willing to utilize western, eastern, and many alternative modalities, always considering what is the best outcome for the animal. I had concerns about early spaying and over vaccinating, but Dr. Oliver understood my concerns. We shared the belief that the core of the pet's health is nutrition. Most importantly, she has heart. I liked the way she handled my dog, and the way my dog responded to her. When I asked her what the focus of her specific practice was, she said I want to care for your pet and help it have a quality life from the cradle to the grave. Add to that, her civic mindedness, her care for rescues and those often deemed unadoptable, and Dr. Oliver had my attention. This is what the world needs more of.

Dr Oliver is amazing. She is very attentive to your furry kids and extremely knowledgeable. She works with you to find the best solution to your pets problems, and trust me we know. We have a 14 year old senior with a lot of arthritis pain and a young pup with allergies. I trust her completely. Additionally, she does amazing work rescue groups and rescuing animals on her own (that's how we got one of our kittens and the pup). I can't recommend her enough.

As the owner of a dog training business in Greensboro, I come in contact with a lot of Vets in the area. Dr. Oliver is one of the most professional, knowledgeable, and caring Vets I know. An example of her compassion occured recently. A dog that I was working with cut his paws while running around before our obedience class. Without hesitation she offered to clean him up, even though it was after hours and he is not one of her clients. I, along with the dog's owners are very greatful for Dr. O!

My family and I were blessed to have Dr Oliver come into our lives about 14 months ago. Our little Shi-zu was very ill and two other doctors basically said it was time to give up after two blood transfusions and diabetes. Thankfully my dear friend who had also had a sick dog previous to mine told me how "Dr. O" saved her baby. After calling and meeting her, she made us feel that certainly there was a good chance she could turn our little Layla around. She was so comforting and reassuring that we felt a connection from the first minute with her. Fortunately, today we have our precious Layla with us, happy and feeling back to herself. We are also taking our 85l lb Goldendoodle to her as well. She has been amazing with him too. The office staff is friendly and accommodating, we really could not be any happier that we made the move and switched our babies over to Dr. O and her great staff!!

Dr Oliver is amazing. Very caring, very knowledgeable, and very reasonable in her approach to issues (and with 3 pets, we have a lot of issues!). I would recommend her and her practice to anyone. Team Awesome at Benessere for sure! Oh, and as if it isn't enough the great care she provides to our furkids, she also rescues animals and that's how we got our latest addition to the family, Mr Nutter Butters. 5 stars isn't enough for them.

I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Oliver and her team. We have seen many vets over the years and she is by far the best we've ever had!!! She is so caring and thorough! We first met Dr. Oliver in Charlotte when she treated our dog, Stella for parvovirus. Dr. Oliver saved her life and has continued to provide amazing, thoughtful, and loving care for all of our pets. Recently, Dr. Oliver is assisting us with our senior cat, Viola (17 yo). The time and attention she takes to ensure that Viola is comfortable is beautiful. I am so thankful to have her in our lives. Take your pets to Benessere! You won't regret it!!
