I would give Scott Mortenson and this clinic a 0 star rating if it was an option. Scott is an absolute disgrace to the animal care profession and his lack of care for truly sick animals defies belief. His lack of professionalism as a care professional is unlike anything I have ever encountered both with animal care, and in general professionalism. I am convinced that if it was not for the higher end pet store forcing new pet owners to visit Garden Creek Pets for evaluations after purchase, this facility would be out of business.In short, I purchased a Siberian Husky puppy from the location mentioned above, and as required, brought the puppy to Scott Mortenson to have her checked up on, multiple exams, vaccinations, etc. The puppy was very sick early on and despite never deviating from Mr. Mortenson's instructions in the slightest, the poor puppy never improved. I made every accommodation for this puppy and to fit her in to Scott Mortenson's schedule. I took time off of work, I worked with friends and family for transportation, I did everything possible to make sure this puppy had care. On two occasions, I found that Mr. Mortenson did NOT even examine the poor dog. He simply changed her diet around and for lack of a better term, "threw" her back out the door. Nevertheless I was charged for these visits. He would also fail to return phone calls or provide any information about helping the poor dog.After a few weeks (maybe even months), Scott Mortenson gave up on the puppy that was entrusted to his care. He literally told me on the phone "I don't know whats wrong with her." In the later statements Mr. Mortenson basically instructed me to take the puppy somewhere else. Not once had I ever caused a scene, raised my voice, or caused Mr. Mortenson any other kind of grief, and yet, I was being told to take my animal somewhere else because he didn't feel like "dealing" with her anymore. Being absolutely dumbfounded by this response and his lack of care for this poor dog, I did simply that. I took my suffering puppy to another vet close by. This veterinarian was absolutely phenomenal and took the Siberian Husky puppy under very personal care. Within two weeks, and this time only a few hundred dollars, the puppy was restored to health and her stomach able to properly digest food. After weeks (maybe even months) of working this this incompetent, ignorant, and arrogant veterinarian, my young dog was finally able to start enjoying life. No thanks to Scott Mortenson, who disregarded her, lacked in care for her, and disregarded her.If you truly care for your animal's well being, keep them away from Garden Creek Pet Clinic and Scott Mortenson.

My rotten dog LOVES to go here - no joke. I tell him he is going to see the Dr and he gets excited and ready to go. He gets anxious with me because I do not get out of the car fast enough once we get there. It's amazing. The entire staff are warm and welcoming, and they know your fur baby well.

I have been with Dr. Mortenson for years with multiple cats. He is kind, compassionate and knowledgeable. 10/10 would recommend. He takes time to answer my questions in each appointment and is not just out for your money. He knows me by name. Five years ago I hat to let go of my first cat and could not have had a more caring experience during this difficult time.

Very disappointed. Out of town and had to have our dog taken for illness and pet sitter picked him up with the exact same symptoms had when he was dropped off with no communication from Dr. and another sleepless night because he is continuously throwing up. But they said he just has a cough. They could not have taken time with him or would know something is wrong with him other than a cough!

I've gone to Dr. Mortenson's office for the past 5 years. I have taken my dogs & cat to another couple vets around the triad and nothing compares to Garden Creek. The staff is awesome and Dr. Mortenson always goes above and beyond. I was concerned about one of my dogs for something and left a message with the vet techs. Dr. Mortenson called me back and asked me questions about some things and offered his advice/suggestions over the phone without me having to make an appointment first, and that was so great.
I have 2 border collies and one of them had to be in quarantine for 10 days. The staff was EXTREMELY nice, as this was very hard for me. They talked me through everything, suggested i bring in toys he may like, or a shirt of mine that had my scent to keep in the crate with him. They allowed me to come any day i wanted to walk/play with him. They gave him lots of love. made me feel so much better about having him in there for that long and that means more to me than anything!
i HIGHLY recommend this vet!!

This Clinic is Amazing, they always take my My Cat Zoe when she has an emergency, even without appointment. Every time me and my wife go in they always greet us with a friendly smile and staff seems very knowledgeable and kind. Doctor Mortenson is very profesional, kind and walks you through what your pet has, what he believes that should be done and recommends the best course of action. You can tell he likes to spend time with his patients and not make you feel rushed. They even gave me some free dietary food for my cat.... i cant express how thankful i am and would totally recommend them and also use them in the future. Thank you again.

Every time me and my wife go inside the clinic, they always greet us with a friendly smile and staff seems very knowledgeable and kind. Doctor Mortenson is very profesional, kind, and walks you through what your pet has, what he believes that should be done, and recommends the best course of action. I have to say that I love Dr. Scott Mortenson and his staff at Garden Creek Pet Clinic. He has been with me from day one with Emma. The day Karen Atkins and I wrangled her up into my car with a can off dog food Karen just happen to have. I had every intention of finding this skinny, scared dog, who was full of worms and turned out to be pregnant, a good home. Oh yeah, she also developed full cataracts on both eyes around the age of 4. We seem to think this may have been from severe malnutrition as a puppy. Needless to say, she found a good home. She is my constant companion, my shadow and a GREAT guard dog. She is my sweetheart. She was scheduled this morning for two simple procedures to have a small cyst removed from her lower eye lid (we did not want it interfering with her artificial lens from her cataract surgery several years ago). She has also had a lump come up beneath one of her dew claws. He is removing the lump to send it off for further testing, and the dew claw. Dr. Mortenson knows how anxious Emma is and has always been very good with my girl. This morning, instead of just dropping her off at 7:00, and leaving her to stress in a crate (which she hates) until they could get to her. He let me bring her in when he arrived at 9:30. He then sedated her and allowed me to stay with her until he was ready for his staff to bring her back for pre op blood work, etc. This simple gesture allowed Emma to remain calm with no stress or anxiety. It also made me feel so much better about leaving her in the care of Dr. Mortenson and his staff.

DR. POORE IS TERRIBLE! We have been going to this clinic for over 4 years and USED to love it. Dr. Poore is exactly how her last name sounds, POOR. She treated us like we were terrible owners and took everything we said the wrong way, and bounced back with a condescending response. Everything about her was awful. My boyfriend called the office back because I ( 7 months pregnant at the time) left in tears from how we were treated and it genuinely ruined my day. The lady at the front told us that it was Dr. Poore's last day when we complained, which is funny because I just looked on the website , and sure enough, she seems to still be employed there. We left our name and phone number with her for the owner, Scott Mortenson , to call us so we could let him know about our experience, but we were never contacted. I will definitely spread the word about this unprofessional business and we will NOT be returning.

This vet office is AMAZING!! My girlfriend and I are new pet owners and we had our dog's initial visit about a month ago. The vet was super helpful in answering any questions we had, big or small. A few days after the visit we had additional questions about food/feeding, as our dog was not really eating. I left my questions with the very nice woman who answered the phone and the vet returned my call later that day. I never once felt rushed while on the phone with him as he answered all my questions. We recently needed a copy of vaccination records (I had waited until the last minute and was worried I wouldn't get them in time) and the woman I spoke with offered to fax them. It was a HUGE life saver!! Every individual that my girlfriend or I (or our dog) has had contact with in this office has been extremely helpful and knowledgable!!

Dr. Mortenson is our primary veterinarian for all 4 of our critters and I could not be happier with the service we get at his clinic. Everyone on the staff is extremely caring and patient. Dr. Mortenson is always willing to answer all of our questions. I always receive a follow up call after each visit. I have never had this level of service at any other vet!

Every experience I have had at Garden Creek Pet Clinic has been wonderful. I started taking my first two cats to them last year, and they were incredibly helpful to me as I navigated the first year of pet ownership! The front desk staff is helpful and calm, and always made me feel that my pets were a personal priority for them. The staff followed up after appointments with phone calls and made me feel that they actually cared about the wellbeing of my kitties, not just when I was in the office but long-term. I had to change vets when I moved recently, and I miss Dr. Mortensen and Garden Creek already!

I would give Scott Mortenson and this clinic a 0 star rating if it was an option. Scott is an absolute disgrace to the animal care profession and his lack of care for truly sick animals defies belief. His lack of professionalism as a care professional is unlike anything I have ever encountered both with animal care, and in general professionalism. Very disappointed. Out of town and had to have our dog taken for illness and pet sitter picked him up with the exact same symptoms had when he was dropped off with no communication from Dr. and another sleepless night because he is continuously throwing up. But they said he just has a cough. They could not have taken time with him or would know something is wrong with him other than a cough!

I've gone to Dr. Mortenson's office for the past 5 years. I have taken my dogs & cat to another couple vets around the triad and nothing compares to Garden Creek. The staff is awesome and Dr. Mortenson always goes above and beyond. I was concerned about one of my dogs for something and left a message with the vet techs. Dr. Mortenson called me back and asked me questions about some things and offered his advice/suggestions over the phone without me having to make an appointment first, and that was so great.
I have 2 border collies and one of them had to be in quarantine for 10 days. The staff was EXTREMELY nice, as this was very hard for me. This vet office is AMAZING!! My girlfriend and I are new pet owners and we had our dog's initial visit about a month ago. The vet was super helpful in answering any questions we had, big or small. Dr. Mortenson is our primary veterinarian for all 4 of our critters and I could not be happier with the service we get at his clinic. Everyone on the staff is extremely caring and patient. Dr. Mortenson is always willing to answer all of our questions. I always receive a follow up call after each visit. I have never had this level of service at any other vet!

Every experience I have had at Garden Creek Pet Clinic has been wonderful. I started taking my first two cats to them last year, and they were incredibly helpful to me as I navigated the first year of pet ownership! The front desk staff is helpful and calm, and always made me feel that my pets were a personal priority for them. The staff followed up after appointments with phone calls and made me feel that they actually cared about the wellbeing of my kitties, not just when I was in the office but long-term. I had to change vets when I moved recently, and I miss Dr. Mortensen and Garden Creek already!
