Love this place. The staff is great!! I'm very thankful to them that my poor baby kitty is still alive. They had to remove his private parts due to an infection, he had surgery twice already. I went to this place by mistake. I really meant to go to West Market Veterinary Hospital where they give FREE Exams. Keeping it plain and short, i regret coming here. Dr. Maria Garrett attended me and my dog. She didn't greet me with a handshake or a smile and walked me to the front at the end, but after i turned around she was gone and didnt bother saying a 'goodbye' or 'thanks for coming'. I didn't see her do anything to my furry friend at all (Like the exam i payed for) even though there was a table for that in the room and like they've done everywhere else that i have gone. All she did was lean on the examination table and held her head up with her hand and asked about 10 questions in a very fast paced, let's-get-this-over-with-asap tone and body language.. Not coming back here. If you want a pleasant experience i recommend going elsewhere. Read Less

After reading the reviews I was really hoping this would be a great place for my new puppy. I purchased a puppy plan from them and brought in my puppy for his regular check up and second set of shots out of 3 required (he got his first with the previous owner). While he is a healthy puppy otherwise, I was concerned about his itching. Doctor suggested the allergy medication and special shampoo that I purchased from the clinic. Nothing they suggested seemed to work and several weeks later I brought my puppy in for another wellness check and a set of shots. My puppy had bruises and scabs (small pimples as well) on his tummy from itching. Another doctor who cared for him at this time suggested flea treatment, although my puppy didn't show any signs of fleas during both appointments, which was noted by both doctors. I also started him on the flea/tick medication the same day (this was January). This Dr. did not take any skin sample or blood tests, or other test of the scabs, but noticed them and marked in the puppy history. A few days later, my puppy was itching really badly and the rash seemed to worsen. I called the clinic and they offered to bring him back so a third Dr. could take a look at my puppy and run tests if needed for the problem my puppy has been suffering from for a couple of months now while under the care of their doctors. Certainly I would need to pay extra for everything. Clearly, I decided not to waste any more of my money with them and took my puppy to a different clinic, where he was diagnosed with a skin infection and was successfully treated. There were other issues at this clinic where I felt I was misinformed or they failed to provide necessary information that lead to certain complications. I voiced my concerns about it to the staff at different occasions and was told they will look into it, but I was never called back or contacted with any information. I am very disappointed with the service and lack of care that led to skin infection in my puppy while under their care. I feel that they care more about my money rather than my pet's health. Both of my cats come here for their regular wellness visits, and I've had nothing but positive experiences. When one of them developed diabetes, they worked closely with me and with the emergency vet that he had to visit to stay up-to-date on his care needs, both short term and long term. Even when I'm visiting for another reason, the staff asks how he's doing, which just shows how much they care about the animals they care for. So glad to have them as my regular vet. Read Less

We have been taking our two elderly (15 years old) Pekes to Greensboro Vet Hospital since we moved to the area and are thrilled with everybody there. We usually see Dr. Garrett but the other vets are just as good as she is. We, and our fur babies, are always treated with kindness and great care. One thing we really appreciate is that none of the vets jump to expensive tests and procedures but try a minimal approach when it is feasible. When the time comes for more tests or procedures we are comfortable with their diagnosis. As much as we hated to leave our "old" vet who is too far away to have as our vet. We were extremely lucky to find this practice that quickly created a trust like had with our "old" vet. Read Less

Not only are they knowledgeable, but they truly understand the animals they are dealing with. My dog is nervous and they always go above and beyond to comfort her and let her come to them. When my husband and I moved with our family of four dogs and three cats to Greensboro from Arizona, one of our first concerns was with finding veterinary care we could trust. Happily, we found Greensboro Veterinary Hospital. We cannot speak highly enough about the caring and expert knowledge of the doctors, techs and staff at GVH. They've been with us now through routine check ups and vaccinations, a major injury to one of our cats, and the death from heart failure of one of our dogs. And through it all, every one of our questions has been thoroughly answered, our concerns and opinions about treatment options have been respected, and, at least as importantly, our companions have been treated with genuine warmth and sensitivity. Plus, the folks at GVH are actively involved with animal rescue, with helping community rescue organizations, and with working for political changes to benefit animal welfare. They're the best. I was a rescue and when my mom got me I had what looked to be an infection in my back left leg and as soon as Dr.Pierce saw me she knew there was something wrong with my bone. We found out I had an infection in my bone from an old fracture that was never taken care of. We tried different anti-biotics and eventually it came down to getting my leg amputated. It was a scary journey but Dr. Pierce and all the other wonderful ladies at Greensboro Veterinary Hospital went above and beyond to keep mom fully informed. The staff here are my second family every time I walk in the door I am showered with love, care, and attention! My amputation was last Tuesday and all thanks to Dr.Pierce Dr.Garrett and the wonderful vet techs my surgery went great and my recovery is even better! The day of my surgery they made sure to call and let my mom know exactly when I was going into surgery, an update halfway through, and a call when it was finally finished. Everyone there is always so nice even when you call several times in one day for things you forgot to ask or the littlest things that make you worry. I love the ladies here so much I have learned to fake not feeling good so I can come see them! I strongly recommend Greensboro Veterinary Hospital for ANY of your pets medical needs there are the best of the best!Read Less

I would HIGHLY recommend this Vet. The staff if courteous, knowledgeable and eager to help. The doctors are the kindest (to both patients and their people) most empathetic professionals I have ever encountered. When we rescued our pittie pup we took him to Dr Pierce. She performed a thorough exam and was sure to explaine everything so well that we had no questions when we left her office. We now have a happy healthy TRIPOD pit bull after Dr Pierce discovered a massive bone infection that just refused to respond to antibiotics. The entire staff walked us through the process and we were always part of every decision. Their empathy to both pets and "pawrents" is unparalleled. Our pup even loves all his Ladies at the Drs office lol. His amazing and speedy recovery we attribute to the excellence and quailty of the care he recieved from Dr Pierce, Dr. Garrett and all of the staff at Greensboro Veterinary Hospital. Dr. Maria Garrett is more than a veterinarian, she truly goes above and beyond to make sure your pet is taken care of! You know when you work with her that she wants the best for your pet - for them to be happy, healthy, and live as long as possible! She has taken care of my rescue dog for over 3 years and I've always felt 100% happy leaving him in her care for any service from check-ups to major surgery. Dr. Pierce is always phenomenal and I would trust my dog with her any day of the week! The staff there love the patients and do such a great job taking care of them while in the hospital. From the technicians to the reception staff - they are all great! The staff always give back to the community in any way they can from supporting local nonprofits and shelters as well as supporting animal adoption in-house when they have the need. Dr. Komich retired and he is greatly missed but the doctors that have taken his place are extremely compassionate and knowledgeable. Having senior dogs, I'm a regular at the Hospital. I know when I call needing something, Karen or Lee-Anne are going to go above and beyond to help me. I'm extremely appreciative of all the service the staff and Dr. Garrett have given me over the last few years, including making a house call to euthanize my beloved Baker. In addition, I'm extremely impressed by how much Greensboro Veterinarian Hospital gives back to the community. I no longer use this practice since I've moveT to Winston-Salem, but for over 18 years the folks at GSO Vet took great care of my pets. the entire staff is friendly and helpful and the doctors helped my pets get through some tough times. When it came time to euthanize my cat, they were caring and compassionate.I also adopted two rescue kittens from their lobby, so they will always have a special place in my heart! Read Less
