Dr. Elizabeth Murray received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 1996. She joined the team at West Market Veterinary Hospital in 2001. Her interests include medicine, surgery, and taking care of all the rabbits, ferrets, and rodents that we see. Outside of work, Dr. Elizabeth enjoys horseback riding on their farm, an occasional Motorcycle excursion, and quilting when she finds time. She is involved in two quilt guilds, her church choir, and the Knights Templar.
Dr. Ron Murray is originally from North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended North Carolina A&T State University where he performed his pre-veterinary work. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University. He purchased West Market Veterinary Hospital in 1998 after having worked there since 1990 and was a visiting lecturer at North Carolina A&T State University shortly thereafter. His interests include surgery, medicine, and mentoring veterinary students. Dr. Ron is a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Knights Templar.
Dr. Elizabeth and Dr. Ron share their home with 1 cat, Dottie, 1 dog, Eve and 1 horse, Twilight.

I currently have one sick kitty on my hands that I recently adopted. I was lucky enough to run into West Market Veterinary Hospital after the other animal hospital that I was currently using was closed due to weather. Long story short they won me over. Elizabeth showed so much empathy towards both me and my new kitten and has given me the knowledge and tools to care for my little guy. Elizabeth even called me on a Sunday to see how he was progressing, how sweet! We're currently going back to see her today as he stopped eating (which she explained might would happen) but I know he's going to pull through with the help of West Market Veterinary Hospital.

I have been taking my dogs to West Market Veterinary for over 20 years now. Doctor Rob and Elizabeth are great. In the past year my dog has gotten stung by bees really bad twice and I have had to rush to get in her. Both times they dropped everything and made sure my dog was ok. They are amazing vets! I recommend them to everyone I know!

I have been going to West Market Vet for years. Even though I moved to High Point I still take the 30-40 minute drive to West Market Vet because they're that great! I have 6 dogs and all 6 of them love both Dr. Murrays! You can tell that everyone there genuinely cares about every animal that comes in. They take the time to really focus on them even if you're just there for a wellness visit or vaccinations. They will patiently answer questions and are very helpful and knowledgeable.

I took my dog, Joplin in yesterday because her ear was swollen. Now, Joplin can be a little snappy when she's scared so I am always worried about bringing her to the vet. She did fine until one of the nurses tried to take her in the back to check her weight and then she growled and snapped at her. Joplin was shaking because she was so scared at this point. The nurse (I can't remember her name but she was a redhead) was an absolute professional and actually apologized to US for scaring her. We told her it was not her fault and apologized for Joplin's behavior and suggested a muzzle just to be safe. Dr. Ron was AMAZING with Joplin. Just the right amount of stern but super sweet with her and didn't seem bothered by her trying to pull away from him. Joplin really responded to his tone and allowed him to do his job with only a few minor attempts to escape. He just said "no one likes going to the doctor. She's just fine" and continued to tell her she was a "good puppy" even though she's an old lady of 9 years now. This was such a relief to me as I have had vets act scared or annoyed when Joplin has acted up. They really made me feel reassured that it wasn't anyone's fault and that she was just reacting to being in a new place with new people poking and probing her. Turns out she has a hemotoma on her ear. Dr. Ron explained that our options were to let it heal on its own which will likely result in cauliflower ear but with no pain to her, purely cosmetic or a $900 surgery. Unlike other vets I have been to, he didn't push surgery or any other expensive procedure. He even told us that while they sell ear cleaner, we could easily make it it home. I didn't get any of the usual guilt trips about other procedures or bringing her into the vet more, which is something I have gotten from other vets. They really cared about Joplin's well-being as well as not charging us an arm and a leg for her care. I will be suggesting West Market Veterinary Hospital to all my friends and family and will be bringing my other dog in ASAP. Thank you so much Dr. Ron and your staff for the amazing care. Joplin says thank you too!

My husband and I just love Drs. Ron and Liz.. they have been taking care of our fur baby Diamond for over 10 years, I made the mistake of taking her to a vet (for a few years) that lived closer to me..that turned out to be a BIG MISTAKE and nearly cost my fur baby her life, I was told by the other vet that my baby had cancer, after taking a ton of blood work, I called Dr. Ron and asked him if he would review her blood work, he was on his way out of town but he took the time to look at her blood work and assured me my baby did not have cancer..!!! what she had was pancreatitis, Dr. Ron gave her some medicine and changed her diet and she is still with us. I can't thank Dr. Ron enough for being the caring, attentive and gentle vet/person that he is, if you have a pet it will thank you for being smart enough to bring them to Dr. Ron and Dr. Liz..!! I will be taking Diamond to Dr. Ron and Dr. Liz until her demise.

A friend recommended this vetinarian for my new dog Sophie I just adopted from the animal shelter. Called at 730am and was able to get an appointment for the same day at 830. Sophie and I got the about 6 minutes early and was immediately greeted. Filled out the her paperwork. It took me longer to fill out her paper then it was for us to be passed back to the exam room. Sophie was a little nervous but Dr Ron and his vet tech where very good with her which I loved. Dr Ron answered literally every question I had ( which were plenty since I had just got her and I wanted to be as informed as possible.)He also gave me some great information on grooming and feeding. She got her medicine and he also gave me instructions on how to give them to her. We also got a neat welcome packet. Needless to say Sophie and I will be back. Loved all the attention my sweet baby girl got. Definitely going to recommend to everyone I know.

Took our new Bichon Frise, Jackson Guilford Blake, for his first exam since being rescued from the local county shelter last week. Had a great visit with Dr. Elizabeth. I would like to thank West Market VET for the outstanding service I have recently received from them. I am beyond ecstatic with the love they have shown Chanel (my cat) and I. She seemed to be losing weight and Dr. Elizabeth was able to give me different treatment options for her recent diagnosis of a condition known as hyperthyroidism. I was so pleased with the knowledge of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. I know vet bills can rack up but West Market Vet was very affordable and gave me accurate pricing before any test was done! Dr. Elizabeth was so patient and honest with me. She even called for a follow up! THEY REALLY DO CARE FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES!!! Thank you again from Chanel and I. Great job! -Meow!!

Dr. Ron is an excellent Vet! He took his time, talked with us and answered all of our questions. Their office really cares about our animals. They would call us to remind our appt.( our other old vet didnt do that at all.) This office amazes me!!! My kids really liked Dr. Ron. He is very friendly and easy to talk to. I am deaf and he talks slow and I can read his lips pretty well! We are transferring all of our animals to this office because our other vet went out of business. I am so happy and found this vet!

Highly disappointed! My dog got blisters on all 4 of his paws, he seemed to be in pain so I wanted to take him in to see if there was anything more I could do for him. His appointment was at 10:30. During his 10 minute appointment, I was told nothing really could be done for him and it would have to heal over time. With that being said, I was appalled that they charged me 46.00 for doing absolutely NOTHING! I will not be bringing my dog back here. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. This was absolutely ricdiculous. My dog has been coming here since he was 8 weeks. And to think they charged me a "sick visit" and nothing was done for my dog is absurd.

I was scared when I first walked into your clinic because I was having a hard time walking. Erin brought me a nice comfortable mat to lie on, but then I realized that my mommy was across the room. I tried walking over to her, but I was still having a very hard time walking, so she came and sat on the floor next to me. When Dr. Ron came in, he just sat down on the floor right beside me and gave me lots of hugs and comfort. I thought he was wonderful! Plus, the best part is that he gave me some pills to take and they're making me feel much better already. I really don't want to be sick or get injured anymore, but I sure hope I can visit Dr. Ron again! Did I say I think he's great!! Tango Hayes

AMAZING!! They are so wonderful here. We brought our dog in for a sick visit and the 1st time is free. They let us know a specialist to go to but with our dog not eating right then they were so nice and gave us a calorie supplement for her to take until we were able to go to the specialist. Sadly our dog passed but I will definitely bring my others for them to care for. They are so professional but at the same time so caring!!

I was very happy with the care and service. I took my dog to them a half dozen times, and saw both Dr. Ron and Dr. Elizabeth. I particularly liked Dr. Ron, but they were both friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable, and were able to clearly explain things - even the things I didn't want to hear. My first exam was free. I gave 4 stars only because I was once billed for something that I did not think I should have been billed for, and when I objected Dr. Elizabeth did not resolve the issue to my satisfaction.

My dog started suffering from a terrible UTI last Thursday night. I had to work on Friday and needed an earlier appointment. I wasn't able to get in with the veterinarian we have seen before in time for me to make it to work. I called West Market Veterinarian Hospital and spoke with such a kind woman who set up an appointment right away. The relief vet was on duty and super friendly! All the staff was! I was given helpful antibiotics for my pup. Everyone was wonderful! My only complaint is the sales pitch about an expensive food that is suppose to target your pets ailment of the day. That was disappointing, but all else was great!!! I would recommend this practice. Just be prepared for the food pitch;).

My boyfriend and I just got our puppy Marley a week ago. Since we are new owners and we didn't know of a vet, so we googled a vet that was nearby. We called West Market Veterinary Hospital and they were able to see us that same day. We went in and the staff were so friendly! They doctor answered all of our questions, gave us information we needed and made everything so quick and simple! I would definitely recommend this vet to all my friends and family! Very happy we chose this vet for Marley.

We came in because our dog Marley had not been to the vet in a while and needed 3 shots in order to staying at a boarding place. We were worried because it had been so long but Dr. Ron Murray was awesome. He examined her and told of us of any issues that were going on with her. The Assistant was very friendly and pleasant and made the process a lot smoother for my Marley. She's a barker but they were able to get her calm enough for a smooth transition. I thank them for all their help and we will be back for her heart worm exam. I would recommend this vet to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable and friendly place to take their pets. AWESOME!!!!

In everything from routine checkups and flea, tick, and heartworm protection, to emergency surgery, Dr. Ron and Dr. Elizabeth Murray have cared for my dog Shug for more than 12 years, since she was a pup, and I wouldnt think of taking her anywhere else. The entire staff is wonderful, from the friendly front desk to the gentle animal handlers who assist and care for the animals. You can tell that Dr. Ron and Dr. Elizabeth truly love animals and love what they do. They understand that pets are family, and treat them that way. Dr. Elizabeth Murray received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University in 1996. She joined the team at West Market Veterinary Hospital in 2001. Her interests include medicine, surgery, and taking care of all the rabbits, ferrets, and rodents that we see. Outside of work, Dr. Elizabeth enjoys horseback riding on their farm, an occasional Motorcycle excursion, and quilting when she finds time. She is involved in two quilt guilds, her church choir, and the Knights Templar.
Dr. Ron Murray is originally from North Carolina and attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree. He then attended North Carolina A&T State University where he performed his pre-veterinary work. He received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Tuskegee University. He purchased West Market Veterinary Hospital in 1998 after having worked there since 1990 and was a visiting lecturer at North Carolina A&T State University shortly thereafter. His interests include surgery, medicine, and mentoring veterinary students. Dr. Ron is a proud member of the Patriot Guard Riders and the Knights Templar.

I currently have one sick kitty on my hands that I recently adopted. I was lucky enough to run into West Market Veterinary Hospital after the other animal hospital that I was currently using was closed due to weather. Long story short they won me over. Elizabeth showed so much empathy towards both me and my new kitten and has given me the knowledge and tools to care for my little guy. Elizabeth even called me on a Sunday to see how he was progressing, how sweet! We're currently going back to see her today as he stopped eating (which she explained might would happen) but I know he's going to pull through with the help of West Market Veterinary Hospital.

In the past year my dog has gotten stung by bees really bad twice and I have had to rush to get in her. Both times they dropped everything and made sure my dog was ok. They are amazing vets! I have been going to West Market Vet for years. Even though I moved to High Point I still take the 30-40 minute drive to West Market Vet because they're that great! I have 6 dogs and all 6 of them love both Dr. Murrays! You can tell that everyone there genuinely cares about every animal that comes in. They take the time to really focus on them even if you're just there for a wellness visit or vaccinations. They will patiently answer questions and are very helpful and knowledgeable.

I took my dog, Joplin in yesterday because her ear was swollen. Now, Joplin can be a little snappy when she's scared so I am always worried about bringing her to the vet. She did fine until one of the nurses tried to take her in the back to check her weight and then she growled and snapped at her. Joplin was shaking because she was so scared at this point. The nurse (I can't remember her name but she was a redhead) was an absolute professional and actually apologized to US for scaring her. We told her it was not her fault and apologized for Joplin's behavior and suggested a muzzle just to be safe. Dr. Ron was AMAZING with Joplin. Just the right amount of stern but super sweet with her and didn't seem bothered by her trying to pull away from him. Joplin really responded to his tone and allowed him to do his job with only a few minor attempts to escape. He just said "no one likes going to the doctor. She's just fine" and continued to tell her she was a "good puppy" even though she's an old lady of 9 years now. This was such a relief to me as I have had vets act scared or annoyed when Joplin has acted up. They really made me feel reassured that it wasn't anyone's fault and that she was just reacting to being in a new place with new people poking and probing her. Turns out she has a hemotoma on her ear. Dr. Ron explained that our options were to let it heal on its own which will likely result in cauliflower ear but with no pain to her, purely cosmetic or a $900 surgery. Unlike other vets I have been to, he didn't push surgery or any other expensive procedure. He even told us that while they sell ear cleaner, we could easily make it it home. I didn't get any of the usual guilt trips about other procedures or bringing her into the vet more, which is something I have gotten from other vets. They really cared about Joplin's well-being as well as not charging us an arm and a leg for her care. I will be suggesting West Market Veterinary Hospital to all my friends and family and will be bringing my other dog in ASAP. Thank you so much Dr. Ron and your staff for the amazing care. Joplin says thank you too!

My husband and I just love Drs. Ron and Liz.. they have been taking care of our fur baby Diamond for over 10 years, I made the mistake of taking her to a vet (for a few years) that lived closer to me..that turned out to be a BIG MISTAKE and nearly cost my fur baby her life, I was told by the other vet that my baby had cancer, after taking a ton of blood work, I called Dr. Ron and asked him if he would review her blood work, he was on his way out of town but he took the time to look at her blood work and assured me my baby did not have cancer..!!! what she had was pancreatitis, Dr. Ron gave her some medicine and changed her diet and she is still with us. I can't thank Dr. Ron enough for being the caring, attentive and gentle vet/person that he is, if you have a pet it will thank you for being smart enough to bring them to Dr. Ron and Dr. Liz..!! I will be taking Diamond to Dr. Ron and Dr. Liz until her demise.

A friend recommended this vetinarian for my new dog Sophie I just adopted from the animal shelter. Called at 730am and was able to get an appointment for the same day at 830. Sophie and I got the about 6 minutes early and was immediately greeted. Filled out the her paperwork. It took me longer to fill out her paper then it was for us to be passed back to the exam room. Sophie was a little nervous but Dr Ron and his vet tech where very good with her which I loved. Dr Ron answered literally every question I had ( which were plenty since I had just got her and I wanted to be as informed as possible.)He also gave me some great information on grooming and feeding. She got her medicine and he also gave me instructions on how to give them to her. We also got a neat welcome packet. Needless to say Sophie and I will be back. Loved all the attention my sweet baby girl got. Definitely going to recommend to everyone I know.

I would like to thank West Market VET for the outstanding service I have recently received from them. I am beyond ecstatic with the love they have shown Chanel (my cat) and I. She seemed to be losing weight and Dr. Elizabeth was able to give me different treatment options for her recent diagnosis of a condition known as hyperthyroidism. I was so pleased with the knowledge of the staff and the cleanliness of the facility. I know vet bills can rack up but West Market Vet was very affordable and gave me accurate pricing before any test was done! Dr. Elizabeth was so patient and honest with me. She even called for a follow up! THEY REALLY DO CARE FOR YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONES!!! Thank you again from Chanel and I. Great job! -Meow!!

They would call us to remind our appt.( our other old vet didnt do that at all.) This office amazes me!!! My kids really liked Dr. Ron. He is very friendly and easy to talk to. I am deaf and he talks slow and I can read his lips pretty well! We are transferring all of our animals to this office because our other vet went out of business. I am so happy and found this vet!

Highly disappointed! My dog got blisters on all 4 of his paws, he seemed to be in pain so I wanted to take him in to see if there was anything more I could do for him. His appointment was at 10:30. During his 10 minute appointment, I was told nothing really could be done for him and it would have to heal over time. With that being said, I was appalled that they charged me 46.00 for doing absolutely NOTHING! I will not be bringing my dog back here. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. This was absolutely ricdiculous. My dog has been coming here since he was 8 weeks. And to think they charged me a "sick visit" and nothing was done for my dog is absurd.

I was scared when I first walked into your clinic because I was having a hard time walking. Erin brought me a nice comfortable mat to lie on, but then I realized that my mommy was across the room. I tried walking over to her, but I was still having a very hard time walking, so she came and sat on the floor next to me. When Dr. Ron came in, he just sat down on the floor right beside me and gave me lots of hugs and comfort. I thought he was wonderful! Plus, the best part is that he gave me some pills to take and they're making me feel much better already. I was very happy with the care and service. I took my dog to them a half dozen times, and saw both Dr. Ron and Dr. Elizabeth. I particularly liked Dr. Ron, but they were both friendly, compassionate, and knowledgeable, and were able to clearly explain things - even the things I didn't want to hear. My first exam was free. I gave 4 stars only because I was once billed for something that I did not think I should have been billed for, and when I objected Dr. Elizabeth did not resolve the issue to my satisfaction.

My dog started suffering from a terrible UTI last Thursday night. I had to work on Friday and needed an earlier appointment. I wasn't able to get in with the veterinarian we have seen before in time for me to make it to work. I called West Market Veterinarian Hospital and spoke with such a kind woman who set up an appointment right away. The relief vet was on duty and super friendly! All the staff was! I was given helpful antibiotics for my pup. Everyone was wonderful! My only complaint is the sales pitch about an expensive food that is suppose to target your pets ailment of the day. That was disappointing, but all else was great!!! I would recommend this practice. Just be prepared for the food pitch;).

Good experience: as a new patient, my cats' first exams were free. The staff was competent and professional. The vet was personable and happy to explain things. My cats' still hated it, but what do they know! Anyway, they came out of it with a clean bill of health. This clinic also offers grooming and boarding services.

Everything that the Docs ever recommended has been the purrrrfect advice and we are so appreciative of all of them there. And by the way, besides incredibly comprehensive check-ups and nurturing healthcare, you can get a wonderful bath as well.

My boyfriend and I just got our puppy Marley a week ago. Since we are new owners and we didn't know of a vet, so we googled a vet that was nearby. We called West Market Veterinary Hospital and they were able to see us that same day. We went in and the staff were so friendly! They doctor answered all of our questions, gave us information we needed and made everything so quick and simple! I would definitely recommend this vet to all my friends and family! Very happy we chose this vet for Marley.

We came in because our dog Marley had not been to the vet in a while and needed 3 shots in order to staying at a boarding place. We were worried because it had been so long but Dr. Ron Murray was awesome. He examined her and told of us of any issues that were going on with her. The Assistant was very friendly and pleasant and made the process a lot smoother for my Marley. She's a barker but they were able to get her calm enough for a smooth transition. I thank them for all their help and we will be back for her heart worm exam. I would recommend this vet to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable and friendly place to take their pets. AWESOME!!!!

I've been going to West Market Vet for years. Dr Ron and Dr Elizabeth are very caring people and you can tell they love animals. Always answer my questions, call me at home after any procedures to check on my animals and always a smile. They have meant so much to me over the past years and I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet.

Very caring. Dr Ron is willing to answer any question - even when I call in. He is patient and kind to all 4 of my dogs - even the difficult one. I definitely recommend him!
