I had a 3.5 year relationship with folks until today. Prior, I'd implicitly trusted them to care for my pets, especially Dr. Leslie. However, the manner in which the other doc treated me like a naive 19 year old and the dog I was fostering like a cash cow are why I will never return...I was informed of a Boxer/Pit mix that had been picked up in a parking lot.... Starved, skinny, patching of fur missing. He wouldn't have lasted a week in a shelter. I was out of the country on vacation, so I told them if they could get the dog to my vet and if my vet says he checked out, then I would agree to foster him, which ended up being the case.Fast-forward two weeks and I had to board the dog with them over a weekend. When I picked him up, he had an open wound on his tail and splattered blood each time he wagged. Obviously, I couldn't keep him in my home. Further, NCAH tried to throw in over $100 of other "stuff" with zero explanation. The owner simply refused to fix the tail and outright shirked any accountability for the issue. They did, however, agree to keep him for a week while I searched for a home.... tough task when the dog has an open gushing wound and has "yeasty" skin and missing patches, which were initially dx'd as the result of self-defense.I was quite clear that I would've kept the dog if they would fix the tail and avoid sending him to the shelter. I offered to split the cost of surgery for the tail with them, but Dr. Miller simply refused and ultimately had the dog sent to the shelter this afternoon... telling me "He will be fine at the shelter. I guess he will probably get adopted and it will be fine. What is wrong with that?"---- What true animal lover would dare ask that question with a straight face? The fact that he had to actually ask me that question is why I will never set foot in their practice again. And oh, almost forgot.... they tried to withhold the transfer of the medical records for my other dog unless I retrieved this one; bloody tail and all. Isn't that illegal?I hated having to leave that practice. The staff were always great with my other dog. This was really unfortunate. Read Less
