Did not have an appointment so I ended up waiting close to 2 hours for my cat to be seen. Staff was super friendly and apologetic, bringing us water and checking on us consistently. I read a recommendation on Nextdoor for Indian Trail Animal Hospital and thought I would give them a try since my fur baby was due for her shots. The last few visits to her other vet did not end well and I felt horrible putting her through all that stress. We went this morning to ITHA and saw Dr. Tom Gawel. The tech explained that he was a no fear vet. He doesn’t try and force the animal causing fear and distress. He takes his time and makes them feel relaxed. If I didn’t see it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it. My cat remained calm and didn’t even know she was being examined. He and the staff were very understanding and nurturing. This is the best vet we've ever gone to!!!! Dr. Taboney is the only veterinarian that has helped with my cocker spaniels ears. He's 15 years old, and has had many ear infections through out his life. I'm glad we've found a Dr. that cares AND has provided the RIGHT solution for his ears. The staff is also great!! Read Less

I've been taking my dogs to Indian Trail Animal Hospital for around 5 years. Everything was great until one of my dogs was put on Clomicalm in October 2016. The manufacturer is very inconsistent. When an order is placed it can take 2 days to 2 weeks to get here, so I never know when to order it for it to be here on time. Multiple staff members have assured me they will keep a bottle in stock to avoid that issue. Since October it has been in stock one time because a former employee, Sam, who was a vet tech saw it through for me even though it was not her job. Every time I place a refill I have to call the vet multiple times. They never have it in stock as promised, and most of the time they don't even place the order the first time I call. I even pay upfront 99% of the time. I placed an order for both my dogs meds on Monday. 2 hrs later I got a text that Lucy's was ready. As of this morning I still had no pickup confirmation for Grits. I spoke to the same employee, Kim, who took the order. She said she did not know if it was there. I explained the situation again, and voiced my disappointment for what felt like the millionth time. I also asked her to cancel an upcoming appointment for Grits because I am switching vets. When I asked her to cancel the appointment she hung up on me. That was the final straw. When we first started going to Indian Trail everything was great. The lack of professionalism has gotten ridiculous. If they can't be bothered stock a prescription when they keep promising it I don't think I can trust them in a life and death situation. I've gone through this for 9 months, and nothing has changed despite all the empty promises. Indian Trail has lost two patients because of it. Maybe they've grown too fast and can't keep up. Maybe they just don't care. Either way, my dogs will not be going back. I've found a smaller vet clinic that has assured me they will keep his medication in stock, so we'll see how it goes.I also found out they they are price gouging! They charge me $80 for one of my dogs medications. I looked online last night and can get it for $58 on Allivet and $56 on PetCareRx. I didn't do my research and it came back to bite me. Absolutely wonderful! My 9 year old lab tore her ACL and meniscus and required surgery. We brought her to ITAH, honestly, by mistake. We thought the same doctor that performed the surgery here performed it at the hospital recommended by our regular vet. Once we met the doctors here, including Dr. Tabony and surgeon Dr. Haase, we knew we were in great hands. They were so caring and kind. Our dog warmed up to them RIGHT AWAY, which says A LOT to me. Don't let the fact that the surgery costs $1,500 less than other places make you feel like you're getting inferior service for your pet. YOU'RE NOT. Dr. Haase told us that he performs these surgeries several times per week. He's GREAT! Nahla's surgery went perfectly and she healed completely with absolutely no issues. We are now 8 weeks post-op and she's back to normal. They also work with you on payment. I'm not sure why people say they feel ITAH is all about the money. I didn't get that feeling at all. They were all friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I'm so glad we made the "mistake" of taking Nahla to see them. ITAH has taken care of my animals for many years and I have always felt they took excellent care of my fur babies. I have nothing but great things to say about ITAH. When I had to put my Yorkie down, Dr. Wolfe even shed tears as she had taken care of him for many years. I brought my dog here due to her constant vomitting and not able to keep food down. She was administered a shot to stop vomitting and they insisted I could not go back with her and talked me out of administering the shot in front of my husband and I- only saying "I don't want you to look like the bad guys" but failed to tell me in advance that the shot causes dogs to yelp in pain because the medication burns as it enters. If I had known in advance I would've walked out so I didn't hear him crying out. I was pregnant and was hysterical after I heard, I would've appreciated more knowledge in advance. Also, the doctor was unable to give ANY clear answers as to why my dog was sick and kept saying it could be "many things".. after the shot and x-rays which she also said "may show nothing and there can still be something stuck" we paid around $300. Even after this our dog ended up having another reaction and we brought her back where she was administered a steroid (which was under $100) and told to take benedryl and made a full recovery! If we had the 2nd doctor the 1st time- we may have had our poor babies issues resolved earlier and for less money. Regardless of money, my dog's health comes 1st and I am very grateful to that second doctor. Read Less

I can't say enough good things about ITAH. Both my dog and cat are given the best care. From the moment you walk in the door, the experience is a great one. The staff at the desk remember me and my pets by name. They are all very friendly. We always see Dr. Tabony who is the most wonderful vet ever. She is very professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and clearly loves the animals she cares for. Dr. Tabony explains everything in a way that's easy to understand. She takes her time with my pets and explains all of the options as well as the cost involved. Recently, both my dog and my cat were diagnosed with serious medical conditions. My dog, Shubu, was vomiting all morning. I tried to give her nausea medicine at home but she wasn't able to keep it down. I called ITAH at 11 AM and they were able to work us in at 12:40. When we arrived, they were ready to take us back immediately. Dr. Wolfe and her assistant, as always, were attentive and listened to my concerns before assessing the situation. She was given a shot of nausea medication and prescribed some food with detailed instructions printed out for me to review at home again if I necessary. The attendant at the checkout counter went over what was done in the room and the instructions post visit again with me. The payment process was quick and efficient. In addition, we've seen other doctors when Dr. Wolfe was not in the office, most recently Dr. Tabony. She always makes follow-up calls to check and see how Shubu is doing or to discuss blood work and solutions to any problems based on those reports. She and Dr. Wolfe are both excellent doctors. I've been taking Shubu there for several years and the entire staff is, and has always been, wonderful and courteous! I highly recommend them to anyone with a pet.Read Less

We took our Black lab (Addie) and her litter of pups to be checked by Dr Wolfe and at arrival we were greeted by Becca Gay who helped me get both momma and pups inside. She helped me to comfort Addie while I filled out our paperwork and then helped me to get everyone into a room. Dr Wolfe and the tech named Allie were so helpful in showing me how to supplement and bottle feed. They made absolute sure to answer all my questions and that I knew what I was doing as far as feedings go! I could feel the love and understanding radiating off of them!!! They listened to all of my concerns and made sure that their answers put me at ease! At checkout we were greeted again by Becca Gay who was genuinely concerned and even made sure to give me her personal cell phone number just in case I should need something over the weekend!!! These three ladies went far above what is expected when visiting a vet office! If yelp had 3.5 stars, I would give that rating. We started taking our dog (aka "my baby") to this Vet a few months ago after finally giving up on the Vets at the local Petsmart. We exclusively see Dr. Wolfe, as she came recommended from a neighbor. Dr.  Wolfe seems to know what she's doing. After leaving a Petsmart vet who told us , "that's normal", Dr. Wolfe immediately diagnosed a bacterial infection in my dog and prescribed a medication that cleared his issue in 3 short days. Only 3.5 stars because this place smells like cat urine! I do not like that smell and it makes me think they do not sanitize in between appointments, which admittedly might be an unreasonable expectation. Also, on my visits there has been dog hair spread about the exam room. Again, a cleanliness issue, which is important to me. Friendly staff and convenient hours. His fave--and the ONLY vet he'll allow near him when he's sick-- is Dr. Katie Wolfe.Dr. Wolfe (very fitting name, BTW) gets down to my dog's level and takes time to get acquainted and my Reagan loves her genuine spirit. No muzzle needed for him when he's in her care. Dogs know a person's spirit; don't let anyone tell you otherwise.But back to the care.The ITAH deserves every star they've earned from the welcoming staff, whom you can always expect their time and attention, to the Vet Techs whom I love and you know about Dr. Wolfe.
