They've been my German Shepherd's primary care physician since he was just 7 weeks old. They have an awesome puppy plan: for a small monthly fee it covers unlimited office visits and all the vaccines. They are so very caring and compassionate with my fur-baby. As a couple others have stated they (Ironton) are all about the money. I paid for an exam that consisted of a quick look over, supposedly a stool test and blood work, and a healthy cat diagnosis. Told the stool test may not have been read properly they advised I pay for another! Is that really my fault? Then I was given a prescription for the cat... 30-40 minutes after giving her the prescription she died. So unless you are seeking euthanasia find another Vet. Read Less

It was easy to get an appointment at this office and easy to find- located on Highway 73 in Iron Station.   However, I was not that impressed with my visit at the office, particularly with the vet that saw my pet.  I've had numerous dogs over the years and have visited several vets but this is the first one I've ever seen that did not actually touch the animal to do an exam.  Most vets actually look in the dogs eyes and mouth and feel the dog for lumps and such.  This vet merely asked questions, took notes and that was it.   I can't see how they really call that an exam but based on other reviews I guess that's what people like at this place.  The facility was clean and the exam rooms orderly so that was a plus. I have been taking my dogs here for 11 years. The vets and the techs are very thorough and caring. They send me reminders when vaccinations or tests are due, and call me the day after any surgery or procedure to see how my dog is doing. I have to take a minute and brag on Ironton. We take both of our pups to Ironton Animal Hospital and I have never in my life been treated the way they treat us! Their staff is INCREDIBLE and the doctor is REMARKABLE! We see Dr. Creech and have had to see him once a week for the past month for our Maizey. He got his book out and has researched and studied what is the best remedy for her diabetes. Not only did he do that but he also calls her meds in to a pharmacy in Lincolnton that is affordable! This place is a joke!!!! My dog went there yesterday because he keeps getting horrible diareah and they keep sending him home with an antibiotic which is causing major issues with his bladder. He's an older dog and needs to be having proper testing done. So the Vet says he has a pellet in his chest but doesn't know how long it's been there and also has an enlarged heart and something is also lodged in his stomach (intestines). Which he informs that the intestines are stuck together. Dog is extremely sick and in a lot of pain yet vet sends him home with an antibiotic yet again but dog has no infection. This is my landlords dog but I look after him. It's extremely hard to watch a dog suffer like this. I'm calling my Vet for him because this place is obviously incompetent. Unbelievable!!!! Read Less

I've been taking a wide range of pets to Drs Levine and Creech since their facility opened, and they've been nothing but friendly, kind, and very helpful for all of our pets' needs. I finally moved to Charlotte in 2014 but I still make the commute to take my pets where I feel they get the best care from the best staff. I cannot recommend them enough. Read Less

I really like the staff and service here. They offer puppy and adult plans that are reasonably priced and deducted monthly. I chose a puppy plan for my fur baby and it's been super helpful to get his shots, neutered, microchipped and some teeth pulled without breaking the bank. It also includes some grooming and boarding but you have to make grooming appointments way in advance. I tend to forget about calling ahead. Read Less

I brought my dogs in and while they x-rayed one, the other was ignored due to my inability to pay right then. My fur babies were hit by a car and the doctor was unfazed. My mom passed away and we adopted them so they were got to help us cope. I told this people while my 8 year old was screaming and the doctor didn't care unless he got his money. His staff was sweet and considerate but he didn't care, I offered to make payments and pay as much as I could. He flat out said they wouldn't do anything with them until I paid or until I got the card. I called Cornelius Animal Hospital and they not only said "come straight here" they said payment would be worked out later. Ironton you told a fur baby mother you wouldn't help until you got your money, it's like telling me that my 5 year old son couldn't get treatment until I was paid in full. How dare you be so inconsiderate! What has happened to this country, where money is more important that 2 kids screaming "save my dogs, I can't lose no more!" I went to Ironton today as a new client with my dog Duke for his regular annual check up. We were looking for a new vets office a little closer to home. First off the Dr came in with an attitude to begin with, 25 mins late, and didn't even introduce himself to me or greet my dog. I only know his name was Dr. Levine because his name was on his jacket. My dog (for the first time I've ever seen) actually tensed up and growled and I think it was because he picked up on the negative atmosphere. totally with hamurgergirl on this. Am surprised she was onto"them way back in 2011. Recently Dr. Levine and the other vet there tried to pressure me into getting a parvo test, knowing that my pup would test positive because she had recently had a vaccine. I know another pup owner who was charged a LOT of money in the same situation, told her dog had parvo BEFORE any symptoms showed up. Dr. Creech told me "this is MY clinic and at MY clinic they do things MY way", etc. etc. They really do take advantage of their customers, thinking people don't know anything about their dogs. Disappointed to see that Ironton Animal hospital is like many veterinarians, they only care about money. I like to buy my medications on the internet rather than pay the outrageous prices that Ironton knows they can charge because most people are too lazy to compare prices. I paid for both heartworm test (Cost more than vets that I've had in Burlington, NC and Charlotte, NC) and then ordered the prescription online. I received a phone call from them stating that they could not fax the records back to the online store or to me and I could pick it up (their hours restrict me from picking them up, like most of us, I work during the day) or have them mail it to me and then I would have to send it to the online store. I find this unusual because I have had them fax records to other places when I have the dogs boarded out of town. This tells me that they're upset that their not getting the money from selling the meds and are making it difficult for me to purchase meds elsewhere.Read Less

i was very disappointed . i will never bring my dog near that place again. I was lied to about a common dog disease and then they charged me extra for my visit. i can't believe these people are allowed to continue to practice. sexist pretentious as sholes treat people like they are stupid without realizing that some people do their research when it comes to their own dogs issues. My experience was less than excepted and I do not consider myself a difficult person to please. My pet was brought over after a traumatic event...she was said to have received a full head to toe examination. To my amazement a jaw fracture and neuro function test was missed. The next day I questioned my dogs toe-touching and the fact that I had to feed her with a spoon because the food would fall out...The physician laughed and with his nonchalant attitude acted as if I were spoiling her. I was referred to CVS in Charlotte for a ortho consult were my fears and concerns were confirmed: a jaw fractue and impaired neuro function in a limb. As a healthcare worker I understand that mistakes are made everyday but after this experience and encounter I believe this particular vet needs a new career!!!
