I have a cat that is very nervous around new people. The staff made my cat feel very comfortable and by the end of the visit she did not want to leave. Our journey with Cabarrus Animal Hospital began when our dog was hit by a car in October 2016. She was tore up pretty bad, with several gaping wounds and needing double hip surgery. She was sent to the specialty Care Clinic in Charlotte for the surgery, but had (and has) all her checkups and followups at Cabarrus. The staff was (and still is) amazing and gives her such good care. They all know her and call her by name when she walks in, and most are very familiar with her history and what she's been through. We also board her occasionally when we have to go out of town, and she also gets groomed there. Our girl's journey with Cabarrus Animal Clinic isn't over yet though. I had gotten a kitten from someone off the internet who had claimed the kitten had allergies but to find out it was actually an upper respiratory infection so I called the humane society and asked them for help to treat her, they took my kitten here and I'm glad the lady chose this place. Our beloved Bree lost here battle with TCC cancer she was 11 years old. DR. Blake Peurifoy was her vet of choice. She liked him and was always happy to see him. He gave her the best care for as long as she was with us and always greeted him with a happy face and wagging tail right up to the last day she welcomed him in the room. The level of care and friendly attitude from his office staff I am here to tell you has always been Class A. Everyone has bad days and unpleasant visits to the doctors but our Bree never did the only bad thing that ever came from them was the news of the cancer. DR. Blake removed a tumor from her chest and found through testing things were not as they should be and figured out what it was. He sent us to a specialist and we got us 7 more months with our Bree he saw her as a puppy to her finial day and treated her with the best care I ever could have asked for he was always concerned for her and us and always very understanding. Bree is one of the three pets of mine he has treated. He has always had the same level of care for all three of my animals we will see no other practice or doctor as long as he holds an office in town. I have been a client ever since I moved to Charlotte almost 4 years ago. As of right now we have four dogs and they all love it here and especially Dr. Mike! We drive 30-40 mins from Charlotte for every appt because a) we trust we are getting the best care and b) we believe we are getting it at a better rate than comparable practices can provide. I've never met a vet who will literally conduct an entire examination sitting on the floor with you and your dog-child (even when that dog is more than capable of fitting on the table). Started going to CAH years ago because they offer discounts on yearly vaccines based on the number of pets you have. Now go because I like their service. They now have very good hours (late weekdays and Saturdays) making it much easier get a timely appointment. Wasn't really fond of when they started charging an add-on fee for walk-ins (not applicable on Saturdays), but given their longer hours, it's not difficult to setup an appointment vs. just walking-in. Their prices are fair. There are some lesser expensive options in the Midland, NC area, but not with the hour flexibility or the breadth of services, particularly in-house surgical. They will also match prices with 1800petmeds which has saved me a lot of money. Read Less

My precious girl passed last night at 8:05pm. I will never have another like her. She was a gentle giant that loved to be loved, and loved to give love. I've never had a big dog like her, that never did one thing to mess up my house. All she wanted to do was please us and love us. Even at the very end, her eyes stayed on us. Since moving here 12 years ago, my vet has always been Cabarrus Animal Clinic. They have always from my very first visit, treated all my fur babies, with loving, caring attention. When I got Cleopatra, we called her Cleo, I met the most wonderful vet, ever, and trust me, I am an animal person and have met some wonderful vets, but none will ever compare to Dr. Blake Peurifoy @ Cabarrus Animal Hospital. The front staff, as well, as everybody in the back are so caring and loving to the animals. I think of everyone as my family. There is nothing I wouldn't do for any one working there. This year has been a hard time for me. I learned that I had breast cancer. Cleo knew things were not the same and started her downtrend with her health. Dr. Peurifoy had been her only vet and Cleo after a while loved him, but the best part is Dr. Peurifoy loved her, as if she was his own dog. He loves all the animals he treats. That's what makes him so good at what he does. He does so many things to help animals. People are not even aware of everything he does on his own time. I wish you could rate higher than a five. I have to say the doctor and the staff went above and beyond a five. Yesterday, our family had to make one of the hardest decisions that a pet owner has to make. The doctor got right down on our level which was in the floor. While she was explaining, you could see the compassion she had for us in her eyes. Dr. Weiss has seen my pets through everything from meningitis twice, cancer, intestinal disease, gall bladder removal to epilepsy. Dr. Peurifoy had worked miracles with his surgical skills to help with lip folds, mystery cysts and paw pad reconstruction to name a few. I tend to have special needs pets and wouldn't trust another practice with my fur kids. The compassionate staff are such a blessing in getting my fur kids to their final destination. Cabarrus Animal Hospital is by far the best vet clinic I have ever been too. My dog is an allergy dog and Dr. Robinson took the time to find the perfect treatment for him. He was caring and took the time to really examine him. Simba is now like a new dog and he loves going there to visit. All the people who work there are so sweet and helpful! They also volunteered to help the Humane Society care for over 130 dogs that were seized from their owner. They were in rough shape but Dr. Robinson and Dr. Peurifoy gave time up in their busy schedule to go to the scene and care for each dog. It doesn't matter what the situation is...the people at Cabarrus Animal Hospital truly love animals and will do anything in their power to help them. I would recommend them to any animal owner. I've always brought my dogs to another vet in Davidson and their prices were almost double to Cabarrus Veterinarian. I gave them a try and haven't been back to the other vet's office since. They were so cordial to my animal and treated him with top quality care. He's been seen here for the last six months and between their prices, their staff, their doctor's, I'm just completely satisfied. We ruff Dr. Robinson!! I had issues at this vet previously & started taking my dogs elsewhere, what changed? Well, I actually had an incident where I had to take them there because they were the only vet that was opened on Saturdays. When I got there it was almost like my dog was excited to be there & to see Dr. Robinson! I thought, well...I'm glad my pups are happy & I received excellent service! Honestly, since the new owners, the place has improved tremendously. My dogs & I always loved seeing Dr. Robinson & he really cares about your pet & goes above and beyond to treat them! I've seen another vet in the practice as well, but I can't remember his name & I was also very pleased with him.  The vet techs and assistants are always super sweet & loving on my fur babies too! All of the staff were very helpful and friendly!  Dr Kidwell sat on the floor with us and our newly adopted dog until we had no more questions.   The vet lab tech (Paul) was very helpful, and the reception ladies were very friendly.  We didn't feel rushed (even for the last appointment of the day at 7:30pm) and we felt that the staff valued us and the wellbeing of our dog.  The office visit was $58 (with free nail trim), which I feel is very reasonable.   They offered many recommendations, but didn't pressure us into anything we didn't want to do.   We are happy to have found great care for our dog.  Thanks! Brought my 4 year old black lab into get fixed. I called around to see who was the best price for laser as bills are a little tight at this moment with an awesome seven year old and also full time student who is graduating next month. My dog had just gotten out of heat. So there wasn't a rush. I was asked how much she weighed. I told them over 75 lbs. I was told over the phone that is was $50 for laser. I said 50? As in 5-0? She said yes. I said oh wow, awesome. I would like to schedule then. So I made an appointment. She was fixed, I got to the counter to pay and they said $309.15! I said excuse me? I was told $50. Both girls said absolutely not. I said I called around, she said you must of called somewhere else like spay and neuter clinic and got us confused. I said no, because I scheduled it the same time and y'all had her on the books. I asked for a price break down, the girl gave me a price then added it up and realized it was about $50 short. So she then tried again, saying it was a shot or medication, but then the girl said that we do that for all dogs. They said, sorry there is nothing we can do. They brought out my dog while we were trying to figure this out, then took her back until the payment was done. Thankfully, I had $350 in savings and paid for it that way. It was for emergencies, which this wasn't. They didn't care. I will never ever take my dogs there again. $250 is a lot of money to spring on someone. I just wonder what if I didn't have that money in savings, then what? If something seems too good to be true, it probably is. I have taken my dogs to CAH for years, and they have always been wonderful to me and my pets. Several months ago, our 10 year old dog started having seizures...Dr. Harroff did everything he could to try to help her, but it wasn't meant to be. The morning I took her in to go to sleep, we arrived as soon as they opened, my boyfried went in and explained the situation and they allowed us to come in the exit door and go straight to the room. Referred to their animal behavior expert, Marcus, to help me deal with a dog with extreme destruction issues, among other things. Marcus has been wonderful in helping me deal with my dog's issues. He is a professional that knows his stuff! He has been very flexible in working around my schedule to meet and promptly responds to phone and text messages. Would highly recommend him to anyone looking for anything from simple obedience training to more complex behavior issues. He truly cares that your pet, and you, learn what has to be done so everyone is happy and secure. His knowledge, positive attitude and caring demeanor are exceptional. Yes they have the cheapest office visit price $39.99 but that is just the tip of the iceberg. I brought my Dog in for a check up and a teeth cleaning. I expected a thorough check of his chest tumors that had grown. I asked for a serious look into the increased size in his "harmless" tumors. I was told that an xray was not needed and that he was absolutely fine. He had his teeth cleaned along with his little brother and a few hours later still confused by the anesthesia, he got more tired and grew cold. After rushing him to the ER Vet, they are amazing, he was found to have a very harmful cancerous tumor in his chest that ruptured and was causing a massive bleed. He was dying a traumatic death from what this Vet called a "harmless" fatty tumor. When I approached the owner, I was teary eyed and heartbroken, he berated me and insulted me and advised me that he was in no way responsible for what happened to my dog and that although it had been a week since I requested his charts, I would not be allowed to see them or have copies of them for another 48 hours. I was devastated and as low as a person can get and I felt like I was being kicked while I was down. I loved my dog like a member of our family and the way they treated me was horrifying. I trusted the opinions and the work of the Dr.s at this business to treat me and my dog with dignity and respect. We were treated poorly and in the end I lost my best friend. With one xray the tumor would have been spotted and my baby could have died a peaceful death. Don't go to these people. If you love your animals and you want them to have the best possible care, don't bring them to these people. Just don't do it. Read Less

This past week I've brought 2 different pets in (dog for a check up and cat for spay) and the staff just isn't very friendly. I called again today to make an appointment for another pet to have his heart checked out, get a tooth pulled, etc, and it seemed like I was inconveniencing them. They weren't blatantly rude but I didn't feel exactly welcomed. So, if this was my first time bringing a pet in, I would almost definitely find somewhere else to go because I feel that the staff reflects the doctors and unfriendly staff equals unfriendly doctors. However, the sole reason I keep going back, despite the staff, is that Dr. Peurifoy is great. I have seen Dr. Weiss, Dr. Aschenbrenner, and a few others many, many times and Dr. Peurifoy is my favorite. Dr. Weiss and Dr. Aschenbrenner are very polite, however (although one said the heart condition on my dog was something to be alert about while the other said it's not a big deal. The first and second opinion about that was within a week of one another. So I didn't like that. And despite seeing Dr. Aschenbrenner many times, he never remembers I've seen him before.) Dr. Peurifoy saw us last minute one time and even though it was the end of the day and he was really busy he spent a lot of time looking through X-Rays. He was patient and polite answering all our questions. We've never minded which vet our pets saw until we saw just how awesome and dedicated he was to our dog and now we're only requesting him. So, if you want a great staff, go to Mt. Pleasant Vet, or if you want Dr. Peurifoy, sacrifice the great staff and go here. Read Less

DR. BLAKE PEURIFOY IS THE BEST!! I wanted to post my review because I think it is just important to point out and add positive things about AMAZING people as opposed to only pointing out something bad due to maybe 1 experience, (Nobody is perfect, including ANYONE that finds it neccesary to write a bad review! Anyway, due to Dr. Blake Peurifoy, I have added 1 more Maltese to my family. Someone literality dropped off this sweet, beautiful 6 year old Maltese at the Humane society. For at least 4 years, there has been a tumor growing inside this dog's mouth. It even had teeth in the tumor. They claimed she was starting to bleed to much and she was starting to look ugly. I'm not even going to write what I think about what these people did not do and should have for this innocent sweet baby, or what I think of these people! Even 2 other vet's said that she should just be put down. I was horrified to even hear 2 other vet's even say that! I thought, aren't vet's supposed to save their life? Then we found Dr. Peurifoy @ Cabarrus Animal Hospital! Putting her down was not an option for him. It was a big Tumor that had to be removed from inside of her mouth and also removing half of her lower jaw because the tumor had grown and had been there so long, her mouth had grown in an open position, therefore her jaw had to be broken. Dr. Peurifoy was very confident and skilled enough that he took on the difficult task of performing this surgery. She not only came out of the surgery GREAT, she actually ate the same day as her surgery and also, I was able to come and get her the next day! You would never know that she had surgery! She was bright eyed and Spunky! She even got up on her hind legs and looked out the window on the way home. When I first heard that half of her jaw had been removed, I couldn't even picture what she was going to look like, (Not that it even mattered). When I saw her, she looked amazing! You can't even tell that she had even had surgery! When I met Dr. Peurifoy, he took his time explaining all the medications to me and all the precautions for me to take. he was very pleasant to talk to and made me feel confident and reassured me about how well her recovery would be. So far, it's been great! If anyone needs surgery for their beloved pet (Your Baby), Dr. Peurifoy is the Man for the job! He's not only very highly skilled, he's compassionate and truely cares about your pet as well as you the owner. Trust me, I've been to some non compassionate vet's, but this place is NOT 1 of them! I am with the Cabarrus County Humane Society, and I would recommend Cabarrus Animal Hospital to EVERYONE!! I would have rated higher, but 5 stars was all it allowed me to rate! You can't even tell that she had surgery! When I met Dr. Peurifoy, he took his time explaining all the medications to me and all the precautions for me to take. He was very pleasant to talk to and made me feel confident and reassured me about how well her recovery would be. So far, it has been GREAT! If anyone needs surgery for their beloved pet, (Your Baby), Dr. Peurifoy is the MAN for the job! He's not only highly skilled, he's compassionate and truely cares about your pet as well as you the owner. Trust me, I've been to some non compassionate vet's, but this place is NOT one of them! I am with the Humane Society of Cabarrus County, and I would recommend Cabarrus Animal Hospital to EVERYONE! I would have rated higher, but 5 stars was all it allowed me to rate! This office provides a decent service but has the worst customer service. The front desk's staff never seems to have any communication between each other and the customers have to pay. I've been taking my doberman their for several months now to have his ears tapped and am told a different as to why it's not working each time by a different employee. I have been going to this vet for 3 years. On my last visit my 8 lb dog was given a second vaccine that was not needed. When addressed with the staff they acted as if were my fault that it was given to her, Dr. Ashenbrenner is very rude and I will never attend this location ever again. I have advised my friends who i also brought to the location for there pets and they are stoping services as well.Hope this helps! Read Less
