Scammers. I scheduled a nail trim and ended up charged for a vaccine as well. Their response, "it's only $18!". So tone deaf, it's not the money it's the trust they broke. Would you like to take your car for an oil change and when you pick up your car it has a new paint job because THEY thought your car needed it. No thank you. My card is reversing the charge as fraudulent bc I had the proof I only authorized a nail trim.

This is only the second time I've ever taken the time to post a review but this really needs to be said. Over 20 years, my family has a pet patient at all three vets in town. The first because it was the only vet in town and, honestly, I have nothing bad to say about them. My beloved 17 year old golden-mix died peacefully there after giving us many years of unconditional love and the vet and staff were very nice. A few years later we ended up at a different vet in town with new kittens because my husband simply got mixed up about where to go. No problems there either. One cat suffered a snake bite a few year ago and went to Kitty Heaven and the other one is thriving. All is well with the second vet where he is a patient. About eight months ago my kids decided to give me a companion so I wouldn't be lonely after I left my long-time job. I researched long before my new friend came and decided to go with Dr. Barker, although I had no problems with either of the other two vet clinics. I got a sweet little Marjory, a beautiful Persian kitten, and Dr. Barker and all of his staff have been so good to us. I never feel like extra things are added just to generate more money for the office. Everything is explained and then I choose what is done or not done. I have always been treated with kindness and respect, whether I look professional or like I just drove up there after spending hours working in the dirt (and not smelling very good), and even when I've been hysterical pet mom. Most importantly everyone on staff there loves my Marjory. I know they treat her as if she was their own. In only four months I have grown to respect, trust and feel a fondness (is it love??) for the folks at Colonial that I've never experienced with a vet clinic before. Judging by other clients there when I am there, I'm sure it is not that I've become a cat lady, but because they truly have something special to offer that is rare and seldom found(redundant but worth saying twice).

Adopted a kitten and he had somewhat of allergies when I brought him home and passed a cold on to my female cat. She ended up not handling it well and had a fever with pinkeye. I took her in and made several different phone calls with questions and then took her back again and thanks to colonial animal Hospital she is now back to normal. They were very helpful and very understanding with each phone call! This is a great vet with reasonable prices and a lot of compassion!

My one complaint is the price of their medications, prices are much higher than online.

Locust may be a small town, but Dr. Barker is an extremely accomplished vet educated by one of the top ten veterinarian schools in the US. He has treated both my dogs and cats for years now, both for regular care as well as a couple of occurrences of extremely grave illnesses that he treated with skill, care, and compassion. I can literally say that my dog would not be alive today if it had not been for Dr. Barker and Colonial Animal Hospital.

We can't say how much we appreciate Colonial Animal Hospital and the faith we have in them. Moving from Charlotte 25 years ago we had to find a new vet that would be local to our new home. Having dogs and cats we couldn't wait long so we asked around and Colonial Animal Hospital was recommended and it was perfect fit. You get great service, professionals who care about you and your animals and give you results. Animals are very important to us and we want the best for them and we believe we found it with Colonial.

This is only the second time I've ever taken the time to post a review but this really needs to be said. Over 20 years, my family has a pet patient at all three vets in town. The first because it was the only vet in town and, honestly, I have nothing bad to say about them. Only thing I'd warn you about is some bald man (manager maybe) comes out from time to time with the nastiest look on his face, never greets you and just looks at you with pure disgust. I'm keeping 5 stars because of Dr and staff, that guy would get a negative 10 if possible!!

Dr. Barker is caring, thorough, friendly, & professional. I highly recommend him. Best Vet I've ever had & I've lived in multiple States & have had dogs my whole life. Friendly & caring staff as well....

Locust may be a small town, but Dr. Barker is an extremely accomplished vet educated by one of the top ten veterinarian schools in the US. He has treated both my dogs and cats for years now, both for regular care as well as a couple of occurrences of extremely grave illnesses that he treated with skill, care, and compassion. I can literally say that my dog would not be alive today if it had not been for Dr. Barker and Colonial Animal Hospital.

This place is by far the most amazing animal clinic i ever been to..they truly care about animals..few days ago i had to put down my beloved babygirl (little chihuahua) and i just received a greeting card with a little pawprint including wildflower seeds to plant in memory of my little minnie...it just cant get sweeter than that...amazing staff and amazing vet he is seriously the best! next dog i get in the future im deff taking it here!! Having dogs and cats we couldn't wait long so we asked around and Colonial Animal Hospital was recommended and it was perfect fit. You get great service, professionals who care about you and your animals and give you results. Animals are very important to us and we want the best for them and we believe we found it with Colonial.
