If I could leave 0 stars I would. My dog, Scout, has been going here for routine visits such as shots for about a year now and I have never had a problem until yesterday. He had been sick for 4 days, not eating, or drinking, having no bowel movements, etc. I took him here to have him treated and they did not even do x-rays. They did a short exam and sent him home with some medication. Overnight he got worse so this morning I took him to Bear Creek and he is now IN SURGERY!!! Turns out, he ate something sharp and it was stuck in his GI tract. How could a qualified doctor miss something like this?! That is pathetic. If I would have listened to them, Scout would have died. Driving down the road we had hit a dog and rushed to West Stanly Animal Clinic. It was during the time they were closed, but it didn't matter to them. They came to the poor dogs aid. Unfortunately the poor girl had to be put down, but the doctor and assistants were extremely careful and considerate twoards the poor girl. I've visited a number of vets in and outside of Concord trying to find one that is efficient, professional and affordable. I feel like West Stanly is the best in the area. The girls at the front desk are always pleasant! Dr. Ben Holmes is thorough and very knowledgeable! He assesses and diagnoses my cats accurately every time! I feel like I'm walking into an honest establishment that isn't going to play a guessing game with my babies, just to get more money out of me. The prices on everything are VERY fair and affordable! And I love that they don't make you pay a mandatory exam fee if your pet doesn't need an exam. I'm so happy with the services at West Stanly and I would recommend them over any vet in Concord! I read all the reviews and was sad to see some of them. We've been going to this clinic for a few years. Dr. Yowell helped our aging Cairn with a leg problem. She is very caring. When this same dog started vomiting on a Sat. (of course) we rushed to the clinic as they were open that Sat. After blood work, x-rays etc. we were told we had to go to the emergency clinic in Matthews. The one thing that bothered me here was that we had to pay again for the Xrays that didn't come through from West Stanley. Unfortunately, our little guy did not make it. The emergency hospital is very expensive so be prepared. We now have a new puppy and I just saw Dr. Yowell. The little guy had 3 days of diarrhea and I got there at 4:10. Even though they were closed for add'l patients they took him in and got him what he needed. He improved the next day. A week later I took him to the groomers who shaved too much off. My dog was trying to lick his leg, etc./rash. I called and we went to the clinic and were given some salve. No charge. I was very thankful. So far, we've been pleased. Read Less

Called like it said on the website for Saturday hours. Be here between 8-930 no later because we are a walk in clinic. Get there and we don't take new patients on Saturdays besides we don't have paperwork from the emergency vet about the problem. I have copies. Receptionist walks off. Comes back sorry we can't see you who referred you. I said my friend not the emergency vet. I point out that it needs to be stated on the website and all staff need to be telling people who call about this important detail. She didn't offer to tell me when they do see new patients. She got an attitude and I proceeded to tell her I would not come back or recommend this place. She asked for my name I said why she said so she could put me in the computer so they would not take me as a patient. I said don't worry I won't be back and you don't need my name. Always such a pleasure dealing with the staff and doctors; they are so busy but take care of your needs as fast as they can. They are truly in it for the compassion of all animals and not for the money. Today was one of the hardest decisions I have had to make letting my 12yr old rat terrier cross over the Rainbow Bridge and I couldn't have met such a nicer doctor. Beth was wonderful to my precious dog Sugar and explained everything to me of what was going to take place. Gladly to say my baby went peacefully with the help of other staff members. Thank you for all you do for these precious animals that God gives us to spend we think eternity with but sometimes that doesn't always seem to workout that way; that's why he gave compassionate people in this world to help us cope with the passing of our dear friends. I cannot say enough great things about the sex. A friend of mine told me about this office because I needed a good bit that was not extremely expensive. The office visit is currently only $37. I have taken both of my dog's there for the past year. This past year my oldest dog, 14 years old, passed away. She had cancer and she started at home. I was scared I could not make it anywhere on time but did not want her to suffer. I called the office and they told me to immediately come on in. I was also worried about the fee for putting her to sleep but was prepared to take the funds from any bill that I had to. Because they have seen her before Kama graciously they decided to help her for free. It is one of the hardest things I believe I have ever gone through. This vet's office has gone above and beyond and I will continue to bring my other dog here. Thank you guys so much. Read Less

Really sad that they call themselves caring individuals. My dog is dying before 4pm and they are heartless, rude, and insincere about what they do. the doctor HAD to leave at 4 for an engagement. Hope it was worth at least 1/2 your customers. I will tell all my family and friends in Midland and Locust about this and it will have an impact! So if you want caring, compassion, and sincere.. Everyone there has taken excellent care of all four of our dogs. They were kind and compassionate when we had to bring in our very sick cocker spaniel last week and showed her respect and dignity as she passed. They don't know what they are doing. That vet wasted his money on his education. Several years ago we had a 1 litter puppy born, my 15 year old daughter noticed something was not right with the puppy, when she brought it to vet they said it was fine, 3 days later it was dead. Last week we had a cat that had been missing for a while come home but she just layed around, never seemed to get up and was having difficulty breathing. I was very worried so told my daughter to bring it here because they take walk ins. They gave it a well check up, rabies shot, said the breathing was fine and said it may have worms. Ok, we gave it worm medicine and it continued to lay around for a day or 2 so she brought it to another vet, whose immediate concern was the breathing. They gave an xray and said it had fluid on the lungs and possibly luekemia. How could West Stanly Animal Clinic be so off and unconcerned and not notice the cat's difficulty breathing when I did and I barely pay it any attention. Read Less
