I have nothing good to say about a service that claims they are caring.  What a utter blatant lie as I called as my cat was not urinating so I figured he had a kidney stone.  Being up front and honest I explained my husband and I are on a fixed income but would pay something upon the visit and then monthly.  I was told that unless the balance was paid they would not even see him.  I called all the vets in Robeson county and was told the same thing.  Although he did not go to vets all the time he was a very healthy cat who lived indoors from the time he came crying at my door 4 years ago.  I could not ignore this baby as we live on a very traveled road which has taken 5 others cats that was in our area but feral.  We took him in had him fixed but could not afford yearly visits to the vet.  I can not understand how the almighty dollars became so much more important than the life of a beloved pet.  The worse part was when I called the next morning again but the only important thing was the $1500 for possible surgery to be paid up front.  Granted I am sure they have had people who did not pay but I could have waited till after he was seen to explain my finances but being a honest person told them up front and basically was informed the only thing I can do was to watch him die.  Well they got their wish as my devoted loving beautiful cat Scratch died that same day.  He was not even given the chance to live from the vet offices in Robeson county.  Just because my funds are not where I could afford yearly vet visits but not in any way did it mean he was not loved and was not cared for.  I pray no One else has to feel the intense pain  I am going through with losing him.  I do pray that what goes around comes around to all the heartless personnel I begged for help!!!!  Let's see if they are brave even to allow this truthful painful post to remain. I would give Dr. Megan Hirano and her excellent team at Southeastern Vet Hospital *10* STARS for saving my dog's life. "Dr. Megan" is an EXCEPTIONAL veterinarian. She was knowledgeable about the most current science regarding my dog's condition, formulated the best treatment plan, and carried out to perfection the emergency surgery and post-operative care to save my 12-year-old dog's life - who is now acting like a puppy again! The story: My 12 year-old Airedale terrier had several tennis-ball sized tumors on her spleen, which had ruptured and caused internal bleeding. She needed to have emergency "splenectomy" surgery to remove the entire spleen + tumors, or else she would go into shock and die within days. Several other vets (including NC State Vet School) gave little chance of surviving the surgery, but Dr. Megan and Dr. Locklear were more optimistic. They successfully performed the surgery within hours of the diagnosis! The surgery was an incredible success: Dr. Megan carefully removed the spleen and thoroughly removed all of the tumors so it wouldn't spread. She biopsied all of the tumors, which concluded they weren't malignant - so it was the best decision to remove the tumors because we now know they won't spread to other organs, but the spleen would have ruptured and caused death if not removed.Perhaps most impressive was the compassionate care that Dr. Megan and the staff gave our dog after surgery. She kept a close eye on her for 48 hours after surgery and used her *own personal time* to monitor her vitals, organ function, blood work, and IV fluids to make sure the heart and organs were functioning perfectly. She now checks in with us regularly to assess our dog's condition - all of this with patience, care, and amazing intellect. Dr. Megan has a special ability to communicate complicated medical matters to non-vets like me, listen to her customers and help weigh the difficult pros/cons of treatment and cost, and then carry out skillful surgeries and procedures for budget-conscious customers. My dog has had 5 different vets over 7 years as I've moved between California and NC. and none comes close to comparing to Dr. Megan and the other amazing doctors, technicians, and staff at Southeastern Vet Hospital! My dog has recovered 100%, and I haven't seen this amount of energy level and activity since she was a puppy - recently we even took her running on a trail on the river! Read Less

Staff act as though they really love my dog and are always glad to see him.  Reassuring for me as I feel like they will treat him well while in their care.

I have been using Southeastern Veterinary Hospital (Dr. Curt Locklear specifically) for more than 20 years. I have trusted him with all of my pets to include my champion great danes and the knowledge and treatment that he has provided all of these years has been so appreciated. He has an open mind and actually listens to what his clients tell him about what is going on with their pets (so many vets do not do this). I would recommend him to anyone that is seeking a quality vet. Read Less
