Don't make the same mistake I did & go to Animal Care Hospital of Matthews!!!! "Care" to them only means $$$$.
Normal Well visit, nothing special, chk up & shots for 1 dog $276.78.
Never in my lifetime after a vet well visit have I left without fecal check results. Which means
this visit, no prescription to purchase Heartworm meds elsewhere & another trip back, if you need right away, as I did.
Why.....it's a gimmick, more $$$$. They want you restricted to their online pharmacy, but never discussed with me.
In my situation, I needed heartworm right away. They not only gave my husband the wrong HW meds, another $74, they refused to refund or replace. They refused to authorize the script with Chewy as my regular pet retailer. Originally I was told return for a script & refund. Next day recd voice-mail oops sorry can't give a refund, but bare minimum, due to their own error, they could have authorized Chewy script.....GREED!
After 4 trips to vet & numerous calls & emails promised scrip was never given or as last resource, mailed. No compensation offered what so ever....GREED!
After what they have put me thru, no way was I going to trust them & give them another $74 thru their website plus I needed 2 wks ago.
Left with no other alternative, I had to take her to another vet & get 2nd fecal chk just to get her HW, another $55 & $74 for HW.
Now out $479.78 for 1 dog. In comparison, I just took my other 2 dogs for a well visit plus HW & got all for $304 FOR TWO DOGS!!!!
Not only outrageous fees, untrustworthy, they don't own up to their mistakes or care my dog was out of her HW needed immediately.
Summation they get you walking in the door. Any complaints go unheard. NO OWNERSHIP
NO MANAGEMENT
NO "CARE".

I don't need to give you a story about how great it was because I know if you'll give it a shot, you'll understand how great they take care of pets on the first visit. Will come back here every time for a vet visit

At first I came to Animal Care Hospital with my cockatiel because that was the only place where I found a bird's doctor in my area. They scheduled us for the next day right away. Doctor's assistants were just amazing, they treated my bird as their own child. Doctor is very knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and gave a lot of recommendations. Now I take my kitten there too for vaccines. I have never had any problems with making an appointment there. Love this place.

We moved down to Charlotte from NJ and NY with our birds in August 2015. We have not had to use a vet since we have been here until now (June 2016) but I was given several referrals by Parrot University in Pineville for the best Avian vets in the area. We called around and spoke to a few, but after speaking with many veterinarians we liked the availability, friendliness of staff, pricing, and reviews of Animal Care Hospital of Matthews. We went in to have our little lovebird looked at for a tumor on his foot, already anticipating that we were going to have it removed. The staff was so wonderful and so is Dr. Rutowski. I am so thankful for finding out about Dr. Rutowski they were able to have us come back in two days for the surgery which went extremely well and I am very pleased with our experience with this amazing place. Expect exceptional service, friendly, compassionate, and straightforward staff, and your beloved pet to be well taken care of in their hands. I will be coming back for all our birds needs in the future. Thanks so much Dr. Rutowski and staff!

We found this hospital by doing a search for are area. I knew after speaking to them that they would be a great fit for us. We were moving to them after getting sub par care and service at our previous vets office. From that first phone inquiry Candice made it an easy decision for me to transfer all records with out hesitation. We went in for a check up and shots a few months later and the staff was fantastic and the facilities were very clean. Dr. Rutowski is professional, compassionate and knowledgeable. Our dog boarded there many times and never had anxiety or issues. We sadly had to put her down recently and though she was sick, she was comfortable with all the staff and the doctor to the end. I have been a vet tech and I can tell you that that kind of peaceful relationship between pet and treatment is a reflection of the people. To sum it up. Amazing vet, fantastic staff, clean environment very good prices!

Came for an avian wellness visit after being referred by Parrot University in Pineville. Dr. Rutowski spent plenty of time with me. I never felt rushed. He took great care with my bird. Upside is that ACHOM offers avian boarding (you do have to be an established client tho). I feel comfortable with this practice and will continue to come here with my bird.

We have a quaker parrot and most vets are not avian board certified. There are only two in the area, and Dr. Frank Rutkowski is one of them, and the only one in the southern area of metro Charlotte. As a quick aside, the other one is a at Carolina Veterinary Specialists near Northlake Mall, and she is good too - just not convenient for us anymore. Most vets don't know a whole lot about parrots as birds are very unique creatures by design. Dr. Rutkowski is a parrot expert. He studies parrots extensively, even sometimes travelling to South America to do so. He has given us good recommendations and "meds" when needed. The office is small and old, but clean. The prices for veterinary services are resonable, but a little high for wing and claw trimming. The staff is friendly and helpful too.

We picked up two stray kittens from ACH in 2004 and have used them as out vet ever since....and we live nowhere near Matthews!! Very happy with the service and the folks at ACH...would reccommend them...

At first I came to Animal Care Hospital with my cockatiel because that was the only place where I found a bird's doctor in my area. They scheduled us for the next day right away. Doctor's assistants were just amazing, they treated my bird as their own child. Doctor is very knowledgeable, he answered all my questions and gave a lot of recommendations. Now I take my kitten there too for vaccines. I have never had any problems with making an appointment there. Love this place.
