Banfield Pet Hospital

Matthews, North Carolina
General Info
At Banfield Pet Hospital in Matthews, treatment sessions begin by observing how the animal positions itself: facing a clinician, backing away into corners or sitting motionless and diagonal at the table’s end. Direct approaches to pets remain unperformed until explicitly invited. Instead, the only thing they change is how they walk: softly curving around the stage instead of stepping straight, moving slightly sideways instead of forward, angling their bodies diagonally instead of upright. The startle reflex wanes, and orientation trust arises. Caregivers stand in strategic spots, often at 90-degree angles which allow animals to triangulate between their comfort zone and medical personnel. Before tool movements are even visible, close observers pick up blink rates, paw arcs and balance shifts. Banfield Pet Hospital provides various services such as imaging, chronic condition detection and management, cardio screening, gastrointestinal alignment, and age-specific care. Access tolerance sequences services through complex unnatural processes. An animal allows another animal to stand by its side before permitting it to approach from the front. Interpersonal communication effects are improved when instruments for use are put on the ground. Discharge routines include instructions on how to walk pets and what angles to approach them for bandage inspection, which helps owners understand where to set up bedding during recovery. These tips assist in reducing the pet’s flight behavior and reestablish its spatial security after returning to its familiar surroundings. Banfield Pet Hospital embeds pet care within the familiar spaces and angles of every Matthews home so that animals perceive treatment as a pleasant experience rather than a threat. The following services are available at the Banfield Pet Hospital: Livestock/Farm Animal Care, Hospice and Palliative Care, Prescription Medications, Radiology (X-Rays), Surgery, Puppy and Kitten Care, Internal Medicine, Laboratory Bloodwork and Wellness Plans. This variety allows local pet owners in Matthews and nearby areas to benefit from routine check-ups to intricate operations. The clinic is a trusted name in the Matthews area thanks to its dedication to ensuring pets’ health and comfort throughout their lives.

My cat, Fluffy, had been a patient there since he was 6 weeks old, 7 years total. He came down with what was diagnosed as an upper respiratory infection in early August. The vet gave him a shot of antibiotics and sent us in our way. We came back one to two times per month until mid December since his health kept declining. We continually kept getting the same diagnosis and treatment those four months. When my cat woke up and couldn't walk we were finally told it could be something more and should see a specialist. Unfortunately too much time had passed and there was little that could be done for my poor cat by then. We spent thousands trying to save him and he suffered greatly. I feel very guilty that I trusted the vets there. My cat passed away on March 4th thanks to the negligent care he suffered at Banfield. If I could leave 0 starts I would. I brought my puppy here for all her medical care. 3 months after getting her she died of a hear disease. I took her to banfield for all her medication. all her shots, everything was up to date they told me she was HEALTHY. She was tested for everything and 1 month later she died?? I don't think they did anything for her! A couple hours before she died we rushed her to banfield to see what was going on, they had her on oxygen for about 10 minutes and she was getting better. They then told us we had to take her to a hospital, TOOK HER OFF OF THE OXYGEN, on our way to the hospital she was dying and getting worse. I blame banfield for all of it. THEY ARE HORRIBLE! They do not care about your pet, ONLY ABOUT MONEY!!! My puppy passed almost 9 months ago and they are STILL CHARGING ME EVERY MONTH FOR HER WELLNESS PLAN. NEVER EVER TRUST ANY BANFILELD. DO RESEARCH! There have been sooooo many cases where peoples pets have passed. I will never bring any future pets here EVER AGAIN!! Read Less

I've been part of the Banfield pet experience for well over 12 years. This will be my THIRD location as I've moved around. Yesterday I was in because I forgot what kind of wet food I needed to get for Leelou, my elder. I took my dog in to have his ears checked. After a very quick exam and reviewing his previous vet records they came back and recommended a page long list of things he "needed", most of which he already had. Then after a $200 bill, we had to come back 3 days later when his ears got worse, only to be recommended all new treatments with a nominal $500.00 price tag.
