It is very important to us to have the same vet over the years, so the doctor really gets to know the animal over the years, and sees them age and progress... just like with a person and their primary care physician. I took my dog there for an examination because she had gotten into a fight with another dog, the receptionist was very nice and the office cat was friendly. We had to wait a while to be examined, but when the technician came in she was a little rude and both her and Dr. White handled my dog a bit roughly, she was quite frightened at the time. Dr. White made me feel awful about not taking her sooner and made the whole situation seem worse than it was. She sent us to the emergency clinic and the doctor there who examined my dog calmly and in a much more friendly manner explained the situation better, explaining more to me about how the injury was instead of just showing us what was wrong. Though caring hearts was affordable, I can't say I'll be taking my dog back there. Read Less

I have seven cats. We have been through about 6 different vets since I moved here about 10 years ago, and I am not the easiest customer to please because we are sticklers about taking excellent care of our cats. We found Dr. White a little over 2 years ago now, and Caring Hearts is an awesome vet clinic. With Doctor White we have now been through 2 bouts of cancer, several dental procedures, a new kitten spay, and many various minor illnesses. So I would say I know her and her practice very well. Doctor White and her staff have a kind, informative, practical and ultra-professional style. They go out of their way to make the patients comfortable by having pheramone sprays everywhere, special tents for the cats to hide out in while waiting, and an electric fence for the office animals to be sure they don't interact with the patients. The office is spotlessly clean. Reading through a couple of the other reviews I can see why Dr. White might not be for a certain type of customer. She is veterinarian geek. She takes her job and her business very seriously and keeps meticulous records and believes her customers will appreciate that and also want to give the best care to their pet. That is why I love Dr. White so much. I know she will not skimp on care or medicines or advice or vaccines. When 2 of our cats went through cancer radiation, Dr. White read every update that the radiation doctor sent her and called to check on our cats. When I needed advice about their symptoms, I could call her and know she was completely up to date. She has also helped us put together a supplement program for various problems and is understanding that we buy some of the chemicals elsewhere and has helped us formulate a cost effective plan. I never have gotten the feeling that she tried to upsell us products from her office, but she is a stickler about helping us be sure we are getting the right amounts and high quality product. I like her direct style. As I mentioned before this clinic is very professional. Each time we visit we are asked a list of questions by a tech and when Dr. White gets there all the information has been communicated so she is prepared. Once we had a question about where an injection had been given and they explained they follow some vet guidelines about each injection so that later if a problem develops there is never a question about which area was injected. This helped us in determining that the injection was not related to a tumor. Dr. White and her staff treat veterinary medicine as seriously as human medicine, and they also have genuine caring hearts. We have found this time and again to be a blessing to us and our family. The office staff is also completely on the ball with ordering food, taking care of the wellness plans and payments, and always fills out and submits our insurance forms properly without being asked to do so. Once there was a mistake with one cat's wellness plan and he was charged too much for a period of time. The office manager took her own initiative to calculate the difference in the care he received vs. what we paid for on the plan and issued us a large credit to our account. If you like to take good care of your animals and want a partner to help you do that, and avoid the headaches of keeping track of paperwork and insurance forms and communication with other outside specialists, Caring Hearts Animal hospital is your best bet. I am a 30 year veteran of veterinary medicine having started working  in hospitals in 1985. Caring Hearts has impressed the socks off of me.  They use low stress handling on every patient no matter if the client is present or not.  The doctor and the techs have a lot of knowledge about animal behavior and have a personal goal of making the animal calm and the visit a positive experience.   As an AAHA accredited hospital they practice medicine to the highest standards and are routinely inspected by the association.   The place is immaculate front and back.  The staff is good at communication and estimates are given before all services.  Having visited and worked in many hospitals in my very experienced opinion this is  one of the best. I went here in August of 2015 with my 1.5 year old pup. I had been looking for a new vet because my previous vet would add medication and vaccines to my bill without asking first. What I loved about this vet is she asked me prior to every vaccine and every medication (like tick/flea prevention, for instance) if it was something I wanted. She didn't shame me for saying no, either. She also added her own helpful input. For example, she asked if my dog is frequently around other dogs. I told her no. She said he really didn't need the bordatella vaccine. I've done my research, so I was already prepared to tell them I didn't want it. But the fact that her reasoning aligned with mine was great. I appreciate a doctor who uses logic rather than maxing out a bill and overmedicating an animal. I didn't think the price for a vet visit, rabies vaccine and heart worm test was bad at all. I can't remember the exact price, but I know it was well under $100. I was in and out in about an hour. The only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars is the receptionist could have been a little friendlier. Read Less

I began taking my fur babies here 7 years ago when I moved to the area. Now that I live 25 miles away, I travel back, and will continue to do so. There is no where else I would find the same level of caring and treatment for my Ben and Jerry. It goes beyond Dr. White's excellent medical service to the animals she treats. The time taken to explain things to me, as well as the options offered and the support of those decisions all make for easier and more comfortable visits, especially when sickness or disease are concerns. Dr. White and her entire staff were kind and comforting during my Emmy's diagnosis and battle with cancer. They all continue to be as one of my babies lives with thyroid issues and congestive heart failure. Aside from veterinary services, I also board at Caring Hearts. I can enjoy time away with the peace of mind that my fur babies are in good hands. Each and every person I have encountered at Caring Hearts Animal Hospital - from the front desk folks to the technicians and the Veterinarians - has always been kind, nice, friendly and helpful. You cannot say that about many places, but I can say it about this one.Read Less

Everyone at Caring Hearts is very nice and obviously loves animals. I took my two cats for shots and checkups, and I definitely trust them with my cats. I will not, however, be back to them. My cats received distemper shots. They gave each cat a shot during the original checkup, and they told me to come back in three weeks for the booster. At my first appointment, I specifically asked if there would be a charge for the booster or if it was included in the costs of that day. She told me that the follow-up shot would be included, so there would be no cost for the booster. When I showed up for the booster, they charged me an additional $55. Had I known there would be an additional charge, I would have taken them elsewhere for the booster. If anyone is interested in costs, here is what I paid on my first visit per cat: -$40.50 yearly physical exam -$23.00 distemper vaccine -$8.00 blood sample fee -$102.75 feline wellness profile outdoor (My cats are strictly indoor.) -$4.50 medical waste -$28.50 yearly deworming Read Less

I have had a similar experience as a previous poster.  I thought the parainfluenza/bordetella vaccine that is a standard requirement for most groomers/boarding was the Canine Influenza vaccine.  Apparently, they are two separate vaccines so they wanted me to pay an additional $26 to have them administer this unnecessary Canine Influenza vaccine to my dog.  My vet says that the Canine Influenza vaccine is more for puppies, my dog is 7 years old.  Caring Hearts also requires that the Bordetella/parainfluenza and Canine Influenza vaccines be no older than six months or they want you to readminister them.  Those vaccines are good for a full year. No other groomer or boarding facility has ever required this Canine Influenza or not accepted the full year duration of the vaccine, so my distress and confusion was understandable.  Ridiculous!  So I never even got to take my pet in for grooming because of these requirements that fall under the guise of we want to be vigilant in protecting our clientele.  I understand trying to set a superior bar, but don't try to accomplish it by promoting unnecessarily vaccines to my beautiful dog.  No other facility requires this Canine Influenza. I purchased the Groupon for Caring Hearts' grooming service. After scheduling appointments for my 2 dogs, my vet was contacted by Caring Hearts for their records- normal procedure for grooming. Later that day, I received a call from my vet urging me not to bring my animals to this facility. Although the vaccines Caring Hearts was requiring are not dangerous, they are not necessary either. Personally, my vet doesn't even administer some of them (canine influenza, for example). People bought this Groupon and were then up-sold frivolous vaccinations. It's a strong word, but my vet called it a scam while Caring Hearts leaned on it's AAHA accreditation as the reason for these requirements. I'll take the word of the vet that I've been bringing my animals to for years over that of Caring Hearts' staff any day. Read Less

Wow this is the worst vet ever...and I have had many dogs in my life that have been to many other vets! If you truly love your pets then DO NOT take them here. Caring hearts is certainly something you won't find here from the staff...the vet assistance will literally ignore you and your concerns. From the moment I walked into the room for my dogs check-up, they act as if they don't know anything. The assistant came in and didn't even greet me and just watched me while I filled out her paperwork then proceeds to ask questions but doesn't show any sympathy or compassion for the pets. Then as I was paying for my vet visit, the receptionist proceeds to talk junk about the next customer that came in. I don't understand why I gave them 3 chances to see if it was just certain people, but I can tell you the entire staff is like that.

We've been coming here since Caring Hearts first opened many years ago and have been pleased with their service until today. Today we brought both our dogs in this morning for shots and what not. Shortly after leaving one of our dogs began throwing up constantly. After a few hours of this, my wife called up to Caring Hearts to report our dogs condition hoping for some guidance, but instead was informed to take our dog to the emergency animal hospital.
