I'm writing this review while still sitting in their parking lot because I feel they deserve the most accurate review possible. Assessment= Amazing!Me and Max (our German Shepard) saw Dr. Christy Montgerard. He has been terrified of vets offices since an unfortunate attack in the lobby of another office in town. He was much calmer and more comfortable here. He never trembled and was cooperative. The front desk started the wonderful experience by being kind and giving treats. The tech was kind and knowledgeable. But Dt Montgerard was the shining star. She took her time. She was patient with his edginess. She even took him outside to play with him and get to know him. The clincher? She wants to see him once a week for the next month to say hi and let him get super comfortable around her--AT NO CHARGE! Kindness. Great prices. So mad at how my experience went with their boarding. I dropped my dog off in perfect health condition and picked him up a few days later with so many issues. On the last day of him boarding I received a call saying that he was having diarrhea and needed a fecal sample. I told them that was ok but to call me before giving him anything. I never received a call back. So I called them. The results were negative but they ended up giving him a antibiotic and some other med to relieve the stress and get his poop back to a sold form. (I did not approve of them doing this) I then go to pick him up. His nose looks raw, he has bumps all over him (looks like flea bites), he was dirty(had poop all over his front leg pits and his rear legs), he looked almost abused(I DONT THINK THEY ABUSED HIM, I'm just trying to explain how he looked when I picked him up, SAD) I even paid for him to have two private 1on 1 times.So he stayed for a total of 6 days and night and it costed me $328 and my dog was literally pathetic when I picked him up. This is the last place I would ever leave my dog. I'm literally heart broken with how you treated my dog while I was dealing with a family emergency.  The pictures are to show the bumps all over him. I have been going to this place since my baby was 5 weeks old and weighted 2 lbs and was being bottle fed, he now weighs almost 11 lbs and 6 months old, he has had all his shots there and 2 major surgerys since, Everyone from the front desk to the Dr has been nothing but Professional Compassionate,Caring, I would never think about going to any other place! We switched to Fullwood Animal Hospital after another local Veterinarian failed to diagnose our dog. The doctors and staff treated our dog with care and concern and even came to our home when it was time to help him over the rainbow bridge. We have since gotten a new puppy and are entrusting the care of our pets to the wonderful staff of Fullwood Animal Hospital. It feels more like family than a doctor's office! Read Less

The staff at Fullwood Animal Hospital could not be a more caring, personable or professional bunch of people. Doctors Montgerard and Hawthorne are the two best vets I've found in 3 states. They not only care about your pets but they care about you as well. I had to rush one of my babies to them at two minutes before closing. The whole staff stayed late for what seemed like hours and allowed me to say goodbye to my Bert. From the doctors, office staff and techs I felt nothing but empathy, kind patience and genuine caring. We just recently rescued our puppy and he’s still shy and afraid of many things and new people. The first visit for new customers is only $1. I brought my older Chihuahua in for a check-up. The vet and staff made it very easy for us first-timers. They know all of the tricks for dealing with a scared doggie-dog. We got  an affordable flea pill prescription and several very useful recommendations for how to continue caring for my pet. I encountered my first and last experience with Fullywood Hospital March 30th, 2018. I took my English Bulldog in for an exam and I didn’t receive a pleasant vibe from their Veterinarian Stephanie Everidge. She had a negative attitude when my dog wouldn’t cooperate while retrieving his weight. I was also later informed that I was overcharged for all of my pets medications. The actual reason for my post is to inform all pet owners that it is okay to reject services if you and your pet do not feel welcomed. I would also like to inform all pet owners that it is essential to ask questions and do your own research on medications and pricing. Lesson learned. Read Less

I moved down here from new york and was looking for a new vet for my senior cat of 19 years. Now 3 years later I have more pets and they still show the best of care to my babies. It's a bit of a drive for me now to get there but their treatment is worth every mile. I have never felt so welcome at a vets office in my life! I was searching for a new vet as my vet was too far away to drive with the changing needs of my elderly cats. From the front office straight up to the vet these people are compassionate, caring and extremely knowledgeable. I felt like I was the only customer in the office as they took their time to answer all of my questions thoroughly and even checked on my furbabes with a follow up phone call. I took my puppy here strictly for a nail trim. I've never been here before, just passed by a bajillion times. We normally go to petsmart but last time I wasn't impressed so I decided to try Fullwood. First impression was AWESOME! They have doggy poo bags right in the front. Landscaping is well kept. You walk in and it's so nice and clean. There are a few ladies behind the desk that are so nice! The two that cut my dogs nails were really great with her. They went above and beyond even though she was super scared. She definitely was not the easiest to deal with (she was actually a handful) but they didn't make it seem like that bothered them at all. Will definitely be back!! Read Less

I've taken two pets here: a hamster and a dog.My hamster, Qi, was fairly sick with what I suspected to be a respiratory infection. I called all around to find a vet that sees "pocket pets" and as relieved that this office could get me in for a same-day appointment. Dr. Montgerard was very caring to my little hamster and prescribed some antibiotics, saying he likely had a respiratory infection. When my husband and I were looking to adopt a dog from a rescue, I called this office and asked that they give a good reference; I was assured they would! A week later, we adopted our rottie mix, Panzer. We took him in for a new patient exam. Dr. Montgerard and her assistant were very good with him and helped us to come up with a vaccination plan and preventative care plan.We will definitely be back! Read Less

Words can't express how grateful I am for the staff at Fullwood Animal Hospital. They went above and beyond to help us with our baby girl Brooklyn. Today they allowed us to bring her in so they could monitor her, then did a ultrasound, and then decided she was ready for a c-section. The staff was awesome and so helpful as I was a new mom. I have a cat that had lost a tooth and I could tell that was in pain. The veterinarian who I usually go to has closed.  I asked around about veterinarians and was referred to Fullwood animal hospital. I made an appointment and took him to Fullwood animal hospital. The staff is very friendly and know what they are doing. They treated my 10-year-old cat with love.  The veterinarian doctor did a check up on my cat and told me to come back for a teeth cleaning. They said he had a lot of tartar and if any problems with the roots of his teeth they will be able to take care of it if needed.  They were very helpful in quoting me different prices in case of a root canal or different scenarios. Found out He indeed needed a root canal and was in a lot of pain. They did the root canal and teeth cleaning for a reasonable price. My daughter's guinea pig was really sick and old. I never thought I was the kind of person who would do anything for a rodent other than let it die of natural causes, but it was stressing us all out to watch it suffer and lose its fur, etc. When it started wheezing that was the last straw. We took the poor little thing to Fullwood for euthanasia, and they were very kind and helpful. I thought they were appropriately sympathetic and understanding and they gave us the option of staying with the piggie but my daughter decided no. So we waited and it didn't take long, and they brought us the body in a little box wrapped in the blanket my daughter had carried the pig in with. They were very sweet about the whole thing. This is one of the best Animal Hospitals around. We have been going to Fullwood for many years and could not be more pleased with the Doctors and the staff. Our Shih Tzu had to have surgery on her paw recently and Dr. Christy Montgerad was fantastic. Afterwards, Sandy, Robyn, Amy and Leslie made her all of our post op visits great. Mary, the receptionist always helps to get us in whenever our little one is not feeling well. The staff are ALL so professional and caring. Today's visit was a special reunion between my dog Dakota and Dr. Montgerard. Dakota almost died 5 years ago from a gunshot wound when he snuck out of our poorly constructed fence. Dr. Montgerard stabilized him and did everything humanly possible to save his life. She personally helped us mitigate the costs involved with an ER visit and also drove to the store herself to get specialized supplies that the hospital did not carry, in order to control his infected gunshot wound. There is no other Veterinarian that I trust more with Dakota's life. I like to have a Vet who has experience with managing both emergency and chronic diseases. Thank you Dr. Montgerard you have cared for Dakota so well through emergency, and now his chronic hip dysplasia.  We are so grateful to have a Vet like you and we love your new convenient location and friendly staff! This is my second visit to this establishment and I don't think I will be back.  We just moved here from Wilmington and our vet there was so amazing that I knew finding one comparable to there would be a tough act.  I just feel this vets offices lacks a personal touch and connection.  Finding a great vet is hard and I tried them again just to make sure, but I just didn't feel they had the love for their jobs or the patients that I have seen in many other vets offices.  I would just feel more comfortable if my sweet fur babies were in the hands of someone I had more of a connection with or felt they were going to go the extra mile. I absolutely loved Dr. Booker. She's a very smart lady, and treated our dogs for over 7 years. She never once made a mistake, and my dogs loved her. She recently retired, and the new vet Dr. Montgerard has no idea what she is doing. She tried to tell my mom her Lab had a autoimmune disease and wanted to do a punch biopsy of her nose without ever running any tests. It turns out her dog has allergies, and antihistamines do the trick. I took my dog there for an issue she was having with her foot. Again, without any blood testing she wanted to jump right to doing surgery. I did not feel comfortable with that, so I got a second opinion. The other doctor told me that my dog would have lost a toe or become lame if they would have done the surgery. She's been on antibiotics and a anti-inflammatory for a little over a week, and her foot is almost healed. Dr. Montgerard also brings her baby to work and has the staff at the desk babysit it. The staff can not properly take care of human or animal customers because they are dealing with her child. In my opinion she is incredibly unprofessional, and takes extreme drastic measures when trying to treat a dog instead of doing the simple obvious things. I've switched vets and will never step foot back in there for fear she'd hurt or kill my dog. It's very sad because she is going to ruin the legacy Dr. Booker left at Fullwood. Read Less

I have owned pet rats for many years and have been to this clinic a few times. Dr. M is ok with rats but I DO NOT recommend Dr. Booker (who i've seen about 3-4 times). She says she knows a lot about rats, but the things she says contradicts many experts as well as my own years experience. Dr. Booker  and her staff are great!  Years ago she found my cat had a liver problem in 5 minutes that the emergency vet could not determine.  This time I took my Shih Tzu in to have her teeth cleaned and they found 2 teeth that needed to be pulled.  My dog is now acting like a puppy again.  They are very professional.  If your favorite pet is a member of the family and you want the best care..you need to visit Fullwood. I've been going to Fullwood and Dr.B for 15yrs. I like her because she is not a huge price gouger. She tries to do what is best without going for the pocketbook first. I call it the ""less is more"" attitude. I'm disabled, but wasn't when I got my pets. She has called me herself to tell me what is going on with my pet. Her staff is capable, friendly and caring. Nobody there makes you feel like a goofball for asking questions, crying that your pet is ill, etc. I appreciate a Vet/Staff like this. Read Less

2 cats, 1 dog never have they left a question unanswered or a concern unaddressed. when i asked about online purchases, they explained that online purchases of prescription preventives were no covered by the manufacturer warranties ... preventive manufacturers only cover hospital purchases also, they match on line prices. it makes recordkeeping much less difficult. anyway as for my pets and for me, fullwood animal hospital is out choice by far. Dr. Booker is a good vet with very poor business practices. When I attempted to order a perscription from another source, her office refused to authorize it without chargine a $12 fee. When asked about the fee, I was straight out told that its purpose was to discourage people from ordering from other sources. If they had even stuck with the old tag line of ""office costs and time spent,"" I may have been okay with it. But to just flat out say ""We're charging you because we can"" and thus use it as leverage to attempt to force my business, I cannot find that acceptable. Its hardly about the money - I spend tons of money on my pets - its the attitude. They lost all of the future exam/testing fees they would have received from the continued care of my Siberian Husky and my two cats due to the principle of this practice.
