Dr. Miller is the best by far! He is down to earth and doesn't give your dog anything it doesn't need! My dog needed her her teeth pulled she had infection and everywhere else was going to charge me 1000 to $1,200 and Dr. Miller said that was outrageous and he charged less than half of that!! I'm sure it depends on different circumstances and the size of the dog but I was so happy that I could finally afford to get my dog's teeth pulled! I feel so fortunate to have found Dr. Miller! I've been taking my 2 cats and dog to Dr Miller for over 9 years. They do get busy, but it's a small office with a very home town feel that I like. It's clean and I love that they know my pets and treat us like family. I'm crazy about my animals and Dr. Miller treats them with compassion and we never feel rushed. Dr Miller has been my vet for 16 years, I followed him from his previous office to his current practice.  His knowledge and willingness to think outside the box with difficult diagnosis has made him a one in a million Doctor.  I have been a breeder of ACDs for more than 20 years he has seen the happy and the sad with my dogs, he has brought them into this world and with great compassion he has had to see them to the end.  I currently live in Atlanta and still make the 5 hour trip to bring him my cats and dogs.  There simply isn't a better vet around.  His staff is also top notch, I never have to worry about the care of my dogs while they are there.  I simply cannot recommend him enough. Dr. Miller and his staff are amazing.  They have treated three of my dogs over the past years.  My 13 year old Sheltie had heart and kidney failure and they worked so hard to save her.  When that was not possible and we went for a work in appointment, they did not make me wait.  They took us right in and redid blood work to make me feel comfortable that I was making the right decision for my sweet Bonnie. She was put to sleep with respect and dignity.  Because of this kind of wonderful treatment, you may have to wait longer than you might like to get in to see Dr. Miller for your appointment time.  The wait is well worth it! When my family and I moved to Charlotte in 2003, we called around looking for a veterinarian for our Cocker Spaniel and tabby cat. From the first phone call, I could tell this was the vet for us. They were courteous and knowledgable. Every visit, we received excellent care. Dr. Miller took his time with us like we were the most important customer. Our dog had multiple oral surgeries over the years and had many growths inspected for possible disease. Each time, Dr. Miller gave us advice as to what he would do in the given situation. It was nice to see him care for our animals as his own. The vet is also very cost effective. He does not charge you to excess. When it came time to put our dog to sleep in December, Dr. Miller stayed open late allowing our who family to say goodbye to our dog of 15 years. He showed great compassion for our loss. He truly is a class act. When I graduated college and went out on my own, I adopted a cat. Trying to stay within Humane Society guidelines, I took my cat to a Humane Society partner vet. That was a mistake. My kitten was never tested for worms and had Feline Herpes. I took my kitten to that vet for three visits over the span of 1.5 months. After the last visit, I quickly called Dr. Millers' office. I set up an appointment. With one appointment, Dr. Miller diagnosed every problem my kitten faced. He prescribed medicine for the worms and gave me a treatment plan for the Feline Herpes. I have not been back for a sick visit since that time. I do not regret giving up my free neuter through the Humane Society to have a healthy kitten. I knew when I adopted my kitten that I wanted him to be treated at Miller Animal Hospital. Clean & Neat, doesn't smell like some low cost vets. Very nice receptionist and dr assistant. Dr Miller is very nice and down to earth. Took time with me and my dog trying to figure out what was wrong. (Spent at least 20 minutes or more with us) The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because my dog is still acting weird and we don't know what it is. He did do a series of tests. Reasonable $35 office visit to be seen. Open on sat till noon, which is a plus. Planning on using them as our vet from now on. Read Less

Took my dog to Miller Animal Hospital yesterday for the first time. Had a wonderful experience. Dr. Miller and his staff are very friendly and really make you feel welcome and at complete ease. He took his time examining my dog and explaining what was wrong and what he thought the solution should be. He vaccinated her, cleaned her ears and gave her meds. The cherry on top was definitely when it came time to pay, I was shocked at how inexpensive it was, especially with everything he did and in comparison to other veterinary practices. This practice was recommended to me by a great friend and healthcare provider. Best tip EVER! Dr. Yercheck is personable, knowledgeable and clearly loves what she does. The veterinary technician and receptionist are friendly and competent, too. Just as important, the environment is clean and well appointed, and without the noxious "boutique" ambience that seems so prevalent in the Charlotte Metro area. He always is extremely friendly, spends as much time as needed to get to the bottom of the issue and understand the problem, and doesn't always have to go for the "most expensive solution" if there are alternatives to try. We gave been taking our dog to Dr. Miller's clinic since we arrived in Charlotte, on the recommendation of someone we met on the street. Dr. Miller is very kind and caring and like previous reviews, he cares very much about your pet. I have recommended him to several people since our dog became his patient, and they are extremely happy with him as well. I wouldn't go anyplace else! Why look further when you have THE BEST! I have to update this review. Our little dog was hit by an automobile while being walked on her leash. The ER vet (Miller's was closed at the time) wanted to amputate. We took our dog to Dr. Miller the next day, he reviewed the x-rays and he has been able to save her leg. Not only that, she needed her bandages changed EVERY day and he and his staff would meet us there - even on weekends - to make sure that she was kept without infection. Dr. Tachiki is an associate of Dr. Miller and he has also been wonderful. Their prices are lower than a lot of the "fancier" clinics, but I'm sure the care can't be as good as that of Dr. Miller, Dr. Tachiki and their staff. I have never been so impressed with any vets! Besides having great doctors at Miller Animal Hopsital, the staff is terrific and carying. I just got back from taking my dogs to Dr. Miller and had to write a review. I chose Dr. Miller based on the previous reveiw on Yelp and I have to tell you - he's probably one of the best vets in North Carolina! I moved here 2 years ago from Colorado where there's an excellent vet on almost every corner and I've struggled finding one here. Dr. Miller mixes holistic veterinary care into his practice, which is something I've had a hard time  finding. He doesn't believe in excess tests and vaccines and his fees are very reasonable. He takes the time to get to know you and your pet. I brought in my senior (12.5yrs) dog, who's been to several vets trying to find relief from her arthritis. Dr. Miller spent so much time watching her walk, testing her mobility and skeletal functions and determined what she needed. No other vet I've been to spent that much time trying to do the best for her. He also helped me to determine what the best Heartworm and flea/tick medicines are for my dogs, since we don't have to use them in Colorado. I never realized there were so many choices! This practice is so much better than the factory atmosphere you get with a large one, but since Dr. Miller spends so much time with his patients you have to have patience waiting. Dr. Miller is the best example that I know of what a small town vet should be like.  He genuinely likes all of the animals that he treats and spends any amount of time with you that you need as the concerned "parent".My best example that shows why you should go to his office instead of a big or little box vet occurred this past weekend.  After picking up my dog from the groomer I noticed something that was concerning and decided to drive by his office on the way home.  Knowing that I would be lucky to find the office open much less being able to get time with him, I hoped that I might be able to set up an appointment.I actually found him in the parking lot locking up for the day.  He closed up the office and then looked at my dog in the parking lot.  Then we talked in the parking lot for twenty minutes about my sports car and his soccer injury.  The chat is not necessary but it gives you time (as it did for me that day) to think about any other questions that you might have.If you are looking for a puppy then you should give him a call for a recommendation for a breeder.  He seems to be aware of or provides services for a lot of breeders (especially golden retrievers). I can not say enough GREAT things about Dr. Miller and his excellent staff. They are all so accomodating, skilled, knowledgeable and give you that warm fuzzy feeling. Everyone there is so respectful and you will never wonder about anything they advise or any treatment you have for your pet. Dr. Miller is HIGHLY educated and he is something that a lot of other veterinarians are not... a true animal lover. What I mean when I say this is that he is not in it for the money. He is always learning new things and educating himself on the latest information and technology. It is a small practice which is nice because they know you and your animals(I have 8 that see him and they know each of them like they are their own) and they do not have 5 other doctors to support(more $$ in your pocket). There are a lot of fancy offices in Charlotte that will charge you $50 to walk in their door--I truly believe it is to pay for all their 'upgrades' to their buildings. If you are looking to wak into a Taj Mahal, go somewhere else but, if you are looking for people who truly care, are easy to talk to and the BEST part to educate you, go here. I work in the pet care industry and I can be very discriminating about my children and who even touches them. I have the pleasure of seeing at least 60 pet owners a day in my own business and have never heard anything but high praise for Dr. 'Jack' and his team. To give an example of how wonderful they are: My Shih Tzu's eye dislocated. We called Dr. Miller on our way to his hospital. He had Bunker all fixed up, comfortable (he never forgets about their comfort)...with 2 months of trips to Dr. Miller DAILY for treatment it was only $250 and my baby has full vision! They rock at everything!!! If you read this, Dr. Miller, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you have helped me with and done for me. Miller is a solid value for the money, providing top-quality health and medical care for your pets. My former vet was very good but moved to a new, more distant location. In retrospect, this was a blessing in disguise, because it led us to Miller Animal Hospital. ""Dr. Jack"" Miler is an excellent vet, easy to talk to, well-practiced in his art but not remote and academic like so many out there. His staff are friendly and helpful, and everyone I've met who have taken their pets to his hospital highly recommend him. Miller Animal Hospital is a small practice, so don't expect the glitz and hustle of a large, multiple DVM office. On the other hand, you won't be nickled-and-dimed to death with all sorts of extraneous & expensive veterinary add-ons to help defray the overhead, either.
