After recently moving to NC from Seattle, & visiting several other Vets with minimal results, I was thankfully referred to the Weddington Animal Hospital by a nearby Groomer. Dr. Faulkner is honest, candid, and chose the best treatment solution for my dog's allergic skin condition. ("Before" Picture attached) He does not "over-promise" and then under-deliver, on the treatment for your Pet. He advises you on what to realistically expect with your Pet's health challenge. Within 24 hours of his treatment plan, my dog was vastly improved, & experiencing relief...& Now a few weeks later, her skin condition has cleared up. The Hospital staff is very accommodating & attentive to your pet, as the unique little individual that it is. It was obvious to me that they really care about their patients, and they definitely go the extra mile to provide a good experience for both your pet--and the Pet-parents. The service fees are very reasonable, and your biggest expense will probably be the necessary medications. That said, Dr. Faulkner gives you different treatment options with your budget in mind. I really appreciated the extensive amount of time the Dr. spent with me educating me thoroughly on the breed of my new puppy, (a pug), as well as educating me further about the breed of my adult dog in relation to their Gentetics, and Physical make up, possible allergies, and detailed information about each vaccination specifically and individually as it pertained to both of my dogs. Yesterday, my little Italian Greyhound had surgery, and Dr. Faulkner was the surgeon. I was an absolute wreck, knowing my little pup needed to have surgery prior to meeting Dr. Faulkner and his staff.  However, my worry was relieved once we met.   I cannot tell you how happy I am that we chose him!From our first meeting this past Saturday, right through to this morning's post-op telephone conversation, I could not ask for a more compassionate, knowledgeable, and all-around genuine veterinarian.  I trust him implicitly with my pets, and am thrilled to have found him.  His staff was great as well.  My dog was dropped off at 8am yesterday.  I heard from Dr. Faulkner, right after Santino's surgery.  He let me know how everything went, and how my pup was doing. He also said I could pick up Santino around 3pm. Being me, of course I had to call the hospital throughout the day to check on my boy.  When I called the staff was kind, and more than happy to reassure me about my pup's well-being.  When I got to the office at 3 to pick up Santino, once again, Dr. Faulkner sat with us to go over every aspect of Santino's post-op care.  It wasn't rushed, and he was more than happy to explain the stages of Santino's post-op healing.I'm home today with my little guy, as he's just day one from surgery.  He has to wear the post surgical "cone of shame", but as Dr. Faulkner assured would happen, my pup has bounced back nicely, and really is doing fantastic! Dr. Faulkner used to be my previous Maltese's, (Milo) vet, in Raleigh for a year & a half. I can't say enough excellent things about Dr. Faulkner! Milo went for a stretch of good health (for a senior dog with kidney disease) & we didn't have to go in. Sadly, Milo passed away, a few months after Dr. Faulkner relocated to this area. When Milo passed, the vet office contacted Dr. Faulkner & let him know. He personally texted me with condolences & sweet words about Milo. That meant the world to me.His care for Milo, his "bedside manner" with me (I cried many a time in his office!), his knowledge, & taking my calls / returning them, when I needed advice or had questions meant so much to me. I was so thankful to have found a vet so awesome.Some time passed & I got a Maltese puppy, Cooper. Cooper got all his puppy needs taken care of in Raleigh. However, six months ago, Cooper & I moved back here. I've consulted with Dr. Faulkner on some behavior issues (as Milo & Cooper as puppies = totally different!). He has been attentive & informative, advising me about measures I can take. Dr. Faulkner is very compassionate & doesn't rush through appointments. He takes the time to listen to concerns & doesn't try to push expense on clients, especially when there are homeopathic & other ways to address medical issues. The office will not fill a simple prescription for flea and tick prevention without an office visit. My dog has been seen by this office more than once in the past year and has been examined. This is a ridiculous way to try to squeeze unnecessary money out of your patients, and made my decision to go elsewhere very easy after this. Read Less

I can't tell you what Weddington Animal Hospital was like under old management, but I can tell you that Ed Faulkner is the most compassionate vet I have ever encountered. There have been several occasions where he has gone above and beyond, in order to make sure myself and dog left healthy and happy. We took our 5 month old puppy to Dr. Faulkner after swallowing a toy squeeker. Dr. Faulkner first had her X-Rayed and showed us where exactly the toy was. He then explained to us the surgery needed to remove it. He took an extensive amount of time explain what exactly Daisy was going to have done. When we left Daisy for the day I knew she was in great hands. After the surgery was complete he called right away to let me know she was doing well! When we came to pick her up Dr. Faulkner talked us through everything about her recovery (diet, medication, rest, etc.) in great detail! If you want someone who really has your pets best interest in heart I would HIGHLY recommend Weddington Animal Hospital! Read Less

Have gone here a few times and normally have had no issue, besides somewhat high prices, but today I took my cat in for a nail trimming and am so displeased that I will never go back there again. My cat has her nails trimmed once a month and has never put up a fight or been upset about getting them done. Today, however, I sat in the room and listened to her continuously screech and scream for at least 20 minutes. I'm not sure what happened back where she was getting her trim, but she now has no voice due to all her yelling, doesn't even make a sound when she meows, and doesn't want to be touched, which is unusual because she is normally loving and friendly. On the slim to none chance that my cat has all of a sudden developed a deep deep hatred for nail trimming, I'm sorry to the vet who had to put up with her. Either way, I won't be taking any chances going back here.Read Less

I just started going to Dr. Armstrong as I just relocated to the area. She is the most caring, compassionate doctor I have ever come in contact with! She just saved my dogs life. She took it upon herself to take my dog home with her over the weekend instead of leaving him in her hospital as he needed IV fluids and she wanted to make sure he was safe. SHE TOOK HIM TO HER HOME!!!!! I was so taken back by the quality of the care she provided. Anyone needing a vet should look no further. This hospital has been amazing! My cat needed an emergency urinary tract blockage procedure and I was very distraught about the procedure and the expenses associated. The staff helped me find assistance with my bill and have updated me on my pet's care through the duration of his stay. It's difficult trusting your animal's life in the hands of a stranger... But this very difficult 24 hours has been easier with the guidance and updates of the staff. I just moved to the area and am in the process of switching my vet records to someone locally. Just went to an appt here and LOVED it. I just had a simple question about my dogs thyroid meds, and the doctor herself answered it on the phone, then said if I came in within the hour she would give my dog a complimentary first exam! They even cleaned her ears for free and showed me how to do it, and they ordered meds for my dog (through some online pharmacy that they use) that I could not find at any other vet that I called in the area. My dog takes thyrozine tablets for her thyroid, and shes on a rather high dose. She really likes the flavored chewable tablets. Nobody around here carried the chewables, and even through 1800petmeds they were a little pricey. They were able to order a special strength of the chewables for me, for less than what I was paying at my vet in michigan. HIGHLY recommend them. =) Read Less

Our dog, Gus, is a rescue who doesn't trust many people. He has a phobia of being in a cage and absolutely freaks out if he is ever in one. So when he had to have surgery on his knee we were crushed and so scared to leave our little man at the vet's office. But all of the staff at Weddington Animal Hospital were so wonderful with him. It truly shows how much they all care about animals and they are some of the few people that I trust with Gus. The day of his surgery they made sure that all of the staff knew that Gus was not to be put in a cage for recovery and they kept him in a safe spot under the receptionist desk. We woke up to a whiny dog at 3am, who had licked his paws so much that they were swollen. We got on the phone first thing in the morning, and the folks at WAH helped us out. Weddington Animal Hospital is one of the most caring Veterinarian practices I have come across in years of living with various and sundry pets. My sister and I had gotten a small dog for our elderly Mother who lives in Weddington. We took the puppy in to have his shots and general check up and they could not have been more helpful. The vet even suggested training options to make sure the puppy would fit comfortably into an elderly person's home. The price was EXTREMELY reasonable for the amount of care given. Read Less
