6/15/15 From my crotchety old cat, to fosters, to arthritic dogs, and my post-op babies, Dr. Swanner and his assistants have helped treat their pain and discomfort. He diagnoses the cause of the pain, treats it, and tweaks our home care plans to meet each critter's needs. Thinking outside the box is so very important for my hoard (hoarding horde) of animals, and Steve Swanner is better at it than most. Recently, my old cat who is tolerated by the household, and he, the prince, allows them in his castle, had a strange, prolonged episode of aggressive behavior we worked to diagnose the cause. Ensuring he wasn't painful or suffering from a cause of such unusual behavior, we did bloodwork, ultrasound by a radiologist, Xrays, and started some medication. Dr. Swanner pinpointed his source of discomfort, noted other symptoms a couple other docs had difficulty noting, and individualized our treatment plan at home. He also treated my younger dog, Eleanor, for some early onset osteoarthritis post-op. His acupuncture skill and handling is better than the other 2, longer certified and experienced, vets we've used for acupuncture. He teaches his staff calmly and positively how to handle patients for acupuncture, maximizing its efficacy and patient tolerance of the process. After 6 visits, we rarely need her NSAID anymore, and rely solely on supplements from Paws at the Corner and The Other End of the Leash, as well as Nutramax products, to keep her joints happy. I leave my pets in Creekside's care often, not needing to be present for all treatments, knowing and trusting the Creekside crew will take good care of them, handle and restrain them well, and help, not harm, them. As a seasoned critical care and surgical veterinary nurse, this speaks volumes of Swanner and his team's level of care. Thank you so much, all of you, for keeping my family in top form, keeping all of our sanity at a manageable level, and doing so much to help others, either clients, or the community at large, to better care for the animals entrusted to us! 2012 :Charles Xavier's intervertebral disc disease finally meets its match in Dr. Steve Swanner's multifocal approach! I love that he is a wise man, bringing my wee babe frankincense and myrrh. The symbolism as Charles' savior is not lost on us. Acupuncture and electotherapy expands Creekside's ability to serve its patients and knock pain and inflammation out. Thank you Steve, Julie, and crew for providing comfort and calm, helping us rest easier! We've utilized other local vets and none compare to Dr. Swanner.Read Less
