Too confident to even test properly. Took my dog in because she was heavy breathing, not eating and drinking and her gums were pale. No blood work was done, no heart worm tests. They came back with the conclusion that she had pneumonia and a uterus infection so severe that she needed it removed THAT DAY but that she wouldn't make it through surgery because of the pneumonia. Was literally minutes away from putting my dog down. Took her to a different vet and they immediately shut down all things said by Mooresville. She had heart worms. Severe heart worms but heart worms. Which could've been initially figured out by blood tests, which apparently they put in the paperwork that I told them not to do? Not true. Asked them about a refund but was told that even though I was charged for everything that was done, they "should have charged me about $300 more but didn't so I got a discount." So no refund. This is (was) a great place but I just called because my 15 yr. old chi has a bad cough and they couldn't see him....said to drop him off tomorrow on my way to work. I have been going there since Dr. Tyner sold to them years ago, so old family customers are not appreciated for sure. This is not my regular vet but this past Sunday, my almost 14yo terrier woke up in distress gasping for his last breaths. I knew what had to be done but couldn't find a vet closer than one of the Emergency Vet's. Then my daughter saw MAH was open till 4:00PM. I called to be sure they could aid in his journey across the Rainbow Bridge. I don't really write reviews but even through my constant crying, we got checked in, paid, peacefully said goodbye all in about 10 minutes. It was just nice to have quick, professional appointment at such a difficult time. I don't know the Doctor's name that we saw but she was wonderful. Thank you for being quick, calm and kind. I had the best experience when I took my dog in for a ripped dewclaw. They accept walk-ins, which many other vets in the area don't. The receptionist was joyful. The tech was very helpful and handled my dog so we'll. And the vet was great! He was very knowledgeable and understanding of my financial situation. Overall I was very impressed. I will start by saying that I have been taking my pets here for over 20 years...the great days of Dr Sloop and Dr Jimmy Carpenter.  this was always the best in Mooresville.  Today I took my 10 year old boxer that is suffering from incontinence.  I made an appt for 4 PM and watched someone come in 15 minutes after me who had a LATER appt time and was seen right away.After waiting 45 minutes past my appt time, we were called back.  We explained that our dog had been previously successfully treated by Dr Carpenter for incontinence a couple years back. A few blood tests, and 1-1/2 hours later Dr. Aquino informs us that my boxer has some starting signs of liver disease and that he does not want to treat the incontinence, but wants to treat the liver disease with a small sized $60/bag of Royal Canin dog food that may last my 90 pound dog 2 weeks...as opposed to the proven $18 bottle of incontinence pills that had already worked on my boxer.  Dr. Aqunio even said that he already had added the dog food to my bill BEFORE WE HAD EVEN SPOKEN ABOUT IT.  After being there for 2 hours I was exhausted and ready to get the hell out of there.  My dog was panting and was never offered any water.  After proceeding  to the lobby to pay, my dog had lost her bladder all over the waiting room floor.  2 of the receptionists saw this and asked if the doctor knew about this.  I told them about his refusal to treat this and they went to try to get the doctor to see this.  He refused to come out.  He said I could make an appointment and come back for an ultrasound.  The receptionist said she would have someone call me tonight....The call never came.BEWARE....This Animal Hospital is not the same as it was before they bulldozed the old building and built the newer one.  It obviously came with a hefty price tag.  I compare their pushing their gourmet dog food to that of the pharmaceutical companies paying doctors to push their medications.  $285 later here we are at home and my boxer has the same problem she had a few hours ago.  What an experience.  Thanks Mooresville Animal Hospital! Took my bulldog in as a walk-in on a Sunday due to. Flare up with his allergies.  I called and they had informed me 2 walk-ins were there but to come in and they would see me as soon as possible. The location was convenient and lobby very clean!  Upon checking in & taking our information we  were told we'd be seen as soon as possible.   Our wait was short (15-20 min) and we were escorted to a clean room by a nice assistant. All in all the exam and dr was wonderful! She was very knowledgeable, polite and gave us multiple options with costs up front for each. All in all the total visit time which include testing was approx an hour from start to finish and the cost was by far GREAT considering it was a Sunday visit. We found a GREAT vet at Mooresville Animal Hospital named Dr Aquino. He is new to the practice and very through So happy we found him last week as accommodating to schedule and easy to get in contact with. He is young, compassionate and does not give up. He diagnosed our Teddy with DKA that our previous vet missed. They have a separate grooming section and entrance (we haven't used yet) so please check this place out if you are looking for a new place for your fur babies. The front desk staff and techs are very friendly and compassionate with the whole team working together for you and your pet. Internal lab for most testing so there are fast results and care plans. Great vet! They have great people that work here. Their prices are the lowest around for their services and boarding. They always remember my dogs name and when I pick him up after a vacation, he's not "weird" like most dogs get after being boarded. On Friday, January 6th, I called Mooresville Animal Hospital around lunch time to see about taking my dog in because she was having a problem with her bottom. I was told there were no appointments open but they see walk-ins between 2-4:00. I walk in about 2:15 and they tell me they aren't seeing anymore walk-ins today. I explained that I was told I could bring her. After speaking with the office manager I was told they would see her. People continued to come in with and without appointments after us. I understood those with appointments would go ahead of us. At 4:15 we were called back to a room. The vet tech came in and asked us what was going on. He then took my dog back to get urine to test it. About 15 minutes later he brought her back. An hour later I opened the door to the back and asked if we had been forgotten. I had heard them oohing and going on over the puppy that came in after us and heard them talking about the dog with the hanging dewclaw that also came in after us. AND the man who came to pick his dog up from grooming and said he wanted to see the doctor while he was there. All of these people were still sitting in the waiting area when we were called back. After I stuck my head out and asked if we had been forgotten, the vet came in and looked my dog over for less than 2 minutes, asked if she had trouble taking pills and disappeared for another 30 minutes. 3 and 1/2 hours after getting there, I opened the door to go check out and the lights were out and not another patient there. THEN, I was told my charge was $119. I told the poor girl at the desk that I would not be back and that I would be posting my experience everywhere I could. Back in June, I took another dog in for vaccines. I was told he would need to come back in 10 days for a booster, but that I did not need an appointment and when I got there a vet tech would take him back right away and give him the shot and we would not have to wait. That day, I was there for 2 HOURS!!! I sure do miss the original vets there and the way they ran their business. Nobody ever had to have an appointment and their prices were reasonable. Guess we are now paying for the new building. I will NEVER recommend them to anyone again nor will I go back!Read Less

I have taken my dogs to Mooresville Animal Hospital for twenty plus years, but I was skeptical about talking my four Boston Terriers to Mooresville Animal Hospital when Drs Sloop and Carpenter retired and sold the practice. On November 3rd, Sadie my 12 yr old Boston developed an emergency involving her right eye and being an Emergency Dept. nurse I knew she needed to be seen right away. I took her to Mooresville Animal hospital without an appointment, but due to the extent of her injury Sadie was evaluated right away by Mandy, and Sadie was taken back within 15 minutes. Unfortunately, Sadie lost her right eye, but Dr. Shirley and the staff were so good with Sadie. I felt comfortable bringing Sadie back for the surgery the next morning to remove the eyeball. Once Sadie was out of surgery, Dr. Shirley called me giving me an extensive update on the surgery & Sadie post op. I was able to pick Sadie up that evening, but Mandy texted me checking on her that night and told me to call if I had any problems. Dr. Shirley called me the next day checking on Sadie. I was so pleased with every aspect of my precious dogs care and very happy I decided to stay with this practice. Dr. Shirley and every staff member I came in contact with showed concern and compassion caring for my baby. Sadie is doing very well thanks to Dr. Shirley . I will continue to take my Boston Terriers to Mooresville Animal Hospital because of the excellent attention and care my pet received. Dr. Shirley is the best and now giving Sadie acupuncture treatments to help restore the sensation and improve neurological function in her lower back and hind legs due to an injury six years ago. I absolutely adore this vet. I moved here from out of state and MAH was recommended to me. They got my sweet kitty in the day we called, as well as a week later when he needed urgent care. Sadly it was his time to go, but the staff was great. I stood in the check out area sobbing and the receptionist just hugged me and calmed me down. They even sent a sympathy card to us in the mail. This office used to be mediocre at best, but we went back for the first time in almost two years and WOW what a change! We saw Dr. Shirley for acupuncture and we loved her! You can tell she's passionate about her work and she handled my Pekingese Lucy like her own! Anyone who hasn't tried acupuncture for dwarf dogs with IVDD needs to try it! BE Warned! I recently switched to Mooresville Animal as I had heard good things about it. Today I went to get my dogs heartworm meds. The charged me 18.00 per tablet. When I checked my previous month the same tablet was 6.25 each. So in a month the tripled the price! I checked with other vets in area and NO Vet was over 10.00 a tablet. Most were between 7 and 8 dollars! I do no know how Mooresville Animal Hospital can justify charging 3 times higher price than other Vets. I guess price gouging meds to pay for their new clinic! I just recently switched to Mooresville Animal Hospital, after many people had told me how wonderful the doctors and staff were to pets AND their owners and how hard they work at trying to keep their prices down, for people like me on a fixed income. I am very happy to say that I agree and will be one of those people singing the praises of Mooresville Animal Hospital! I liked the fact that I could make an appointment and get right in to see a doctor, who then took the time I needed to make sure all my questions were answered. I did not feel hurried or pressured and the veterinarian who saw my 6 year-old Yorkie, Charlie, asked ME questions I didn't even think to ask and gave me suggestions and ideas for his care that were very helpful. When I went to check out, I was very surprised at my charges and how reasonable they were. The office staff, which I was told were all new, were wonderful and even helped me to my car. Dr. Smith is amazing! Over the last few months we have been caring for my chocolate lab that is ill. We decided to take our new puppies to Mooresville Veterinary office because their mother was a patient there and we have used them in the past. The first visit was great and cost almost $200. The second visit ended with us not getting to see the vet at all. There was only one person in front of us and after being there for 2 hours we left without their booster shots because they claimed everyone was too busy. We were charged $24 for nail cutting that took only 5 minutes for both puppies. We were very patient for an hour and a half even though we were confined to a tiny/hot/stuffy room with our puppies laying on the floor trying to get cool waiting on the Vet. Finally, after hearing several people coming in with their animals and being waited on while we continued to wait - we poked our head out to see if it was going to be much longer. All we needed was a booster and none of the vets would step in and apologize or give the shots. Absolutely no one told us there was going to be a delay or apologized for our wasted time. The staff acted as if our time was not valuable at all. We are disappointed in how we were treated and had to go elsewhere. They were very unprofessional with no regards to our animals needing their boosters and heart worm meds. SHAME ON THEM! Read Less

My vet spend a lot of time taking care of my lab. He did not seem rushed but very thoughtful and concerned about my baby's health. He gave me advice about her feeding and was extremely genuine. My little girl became better in two days. The diagnosis was accurate and he seemed genuinely concerned about her health. The ladies at the front desk could not be kinder. I had gone to a newer, 'fancier' vet first in Mooresville and was seen by a vet who was scared of my 14 lb cat. I wanted to grab him and just leave,so I gave MOORESVILLE ANIMAL Hospital a try and loved it. The vets were great with cats, and offered heartfelt advice when I asked about treatment options. They made me feel at home and I don't need an appointment for simple vaccinations. They kept my third cat an extra two days after her spay so I could take a vacation and I felt very confident that she was only getting the best of care. I would recommend this vet in a heart beat. I would recommend Mooresville Animal Hospital to any pet owner. I have used them for over 15 years and they have taken care of all my pets. I have had opportunities where my pets have been injured or sick and even an occasion where I needed to put a very old dog to sleep (he was 16 years old). The compassion that the doctor gave to me and to my dog was outstanding. He got right down on the floor with us (Murphy was a large dog) and held Murphy like he was his own dog. He also consoled me and stayed with me until I was ready to leave (I wasn't rushed out). Even on routine visits, I have felt that they really care about my pets. They answer my questions in a language I understand and they make every effort to see you as soon as possible, with as little waiting as possible.
