This is the best veterinary practice I've ever visited. Everyone here--doctors, techs, office staff, animal caretakers--everyone is a cat champion.

In the past 14 years, I have taken my cats to various animal hospitals and now feel like I have finally found the best place for my two cats. Morrisville Cat Hospital focuses solely on felines and there is comfort in this. Going to the vet is traumatic enough for some cats and not seeing dogs or other pet in the waiting room is a big relief. Our friends highly recommended this location as well because they take excellent care of their Maine Coon cats and know this breed very well. I have brought in my new kitten and my first exam was was Dr. Wendy Simpson. She was wonderful, caring and very knowledgable. She lectures at NC State and feline conferences and knows about cats and their behavior and health. She encouraged us to create food games for the cats to make them "hunt" for their food and also explained the best way to introduce two new cats to each other. One trick they use at this hospital is Gerber baby food. The cats love it and this Nestle jar of chicken gravy on a wooden stick distracts them from the exam. The team also captures all the notes and comments and act like a scribe and then we received a very nice print-out post exam with all the details and medicine directions. The waiting rooms and cat exam rooms are very clean and cat friendly. There is even a resident cat that gets to roam around and welcome visitors. For our follow-up visit, we were seen by Dr. Kim Camacho and she is also fantastic. Both Dr. Simpson and Dr. Camacho are very personable and can explain all the information in simple terms and truly care about the cats. The exams are very thorough. One other important process that I value here is the vaccination approach. Many vets will inject a vaccination in a location that is harmful or can hurt the cat down the road. The vaccinations here are either injected in hind leg so that if there is an issue down the road, the leg can be amputed or it can be given through their nostrils. They applied a flea medicine as well and showed me how to part the fur on the head and not just dump it on the back of the neck where the cat can lick it. Each visit, I learn more and feel like my cats are in very capable hands. The prices are also very reasonable. Thank you, for the reassurance and for helping me find a place both the cats and I enjoy visiting. Read Less

We have been customers at Morrisville Cat Hospital since 2003, when we walked in off the street with a stray kitten who had an injured leg. Although the emergency clinic told us that it would need to be amputated, Dr. Simpson worked long and hard to save the leg and our sweet Soncie has had full use of it for the rest of her long life - no signs of trauma at all! Dr. Simpson is always so empathetic to the cats (and owners) and is up to date on all the latest medical knowledge, not to mention incredibly hard working and dedicated. We recently had to put our elderly cat down after fighting progressive kidney disease, and Dr. Simpson did the most amazing job of making that experience the best it could be. She and her staff handled it all with the utmost respect, sensitivity, and kindness - understanding completely how hard it is to say goodbye to a cherished pet. They really went above and beyond, and we can't say enough nice things about how well it was handled. We couldn't be happier with Morrisville Cat Hospital - it is really a wonderful place to take your pet. UPDATE 8/24 - In addition to the wonderful care Dr. Simpson and her staff gave our cat when we put him to sleep, they went above and beyond by writing us handwritten messages of condolences. Dr. Simpson sent us a personal card, AND we got one with additional handwritten messages from each member of the staff. Really, really kind people here - amazing! Read Less

EXTRAORDINARY vet practice serviced by caring and compassionate vets, vet techs and office staff ~in a clean and bright setting. The practice is about a 30-40 minute drive (depending on traffic) but worth the drive. My 3 cats have been patients for the past 15 years. Recently, my oldest cat had to be hospitalized. Despite her busy clinical schedule, Dr. Simpson would call me every morning and evening (and over the weekends) to provide DETAILED health updates. She was very patient in answering my multiple questions. Dr. Simpson keeps abreast of the latest clinical literature and consults with NCSU Vet School researchers/clinicians if a clinical situation warrants another thoughtful opinion. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Dr. Wendy Simpson is the best vet I have EVER had the experience of meeting. When my parents cats got sick, she took incredible care of them. She extended our diabetic cats life by almost a year, helped us find the reason for another cats seizures and even came out to our house to put our cat to sleep so that he could be comfortable at home. When my cat, Eddie, got sick, my father sent me over to Dr. Wendy. She took incredible care of him and you could just tell that she had genuine concern for his well being. She gave me detailed instructions on how to continue his care at home and even gave her cell number so she could help me out over the weekend. After moving to the Raleigh area this summer, I was concerned about where to take my two cats (~9yo and 10yo), especially considering the older one has been on liver medication and has arthritis issues in his back hips. I had noticed the MCH when my husband I dined at a nearby restaurant. I also read the reviews on citysearch and decided to try them for the cats' annual check-ups. I love the fact that MCH is cat-only: no dogs or scary sounds for my kitties (who are always traumatized to go to the vet). Every single person on their staff obviously loves cats and made both me and my husband feel very welcome. I cannot comment enough on how nicely they treated the cats. We saw Dr. Camacho - an excellent doctor. Our technician was especially gentle and kind to the cats. Dr. was very thorough and offered great advice on how to treat our older, overweight cat's arthritis and food intake. Our older cat is losing weight and seems to be on the right track for an even more comfortable life. The price was a lot more expensive than what I have ever paid for my cats and their full geriatric panels. However, I am a full believer in 'you get what you pay for' and don't mind the extra cost because it appears to directly relate the the quality of care my cats are receiving. The only downside to our initial appointment was the time (our first check-up time was almost two hours, we waited quite a while to see the doctor and then to be checked out). Because they couldn't find the older cat's bladder, we took both in at a later date to have bloodwork and urine taken. I wasn't expecting to pay for a full day of boarding for both of them - especially considering that cost (an extra $40 for both) hadn't been warned to us ahead of time. All things considered, I'll definitely continue to take my cats to MCH as long as we are living in the Raleigh area, can afford it. If you are a cat lover and want nothing but the best for your babies - this is the place to go. Read Less

I have several cats, and before Morrisville Cat Hospital opened had been to many of the veterinarians in Cary (where I live), none of them ever felt ""right"" for myself or my cats. Our search ended once Morrisville Cat Hospital opened and we were fortunate enough to meet the wonderful Dr. Wendy Simpson and her caring staff. There would not be enough space here to go into all the positive things I could say about Dr. Wendy, but instead I'll reiterate what others have shared in their reviews. It is crystal clear that Dr. Wendy has a true love and compassion for not only cats, but their owners! Others have posted about never feeling rushed, and how Dr. Wendy spends as much time as needed with you and your cat. I can't emphasize that enough. Dr. Wendy has gone above and beyond for me and my cats in ways no one ever has before, and I am truly thankful for finding her. I created this account for the sole purpose of singing the praises of the wonderful people at Morrisville Cat Hospital. My husband and I started taking our two cats, Ryo and Heffer, to MCH 5 years ago, when we lived in an apartment 5 minutes from the clinic. When we bought a house in Holly Springs in 2004, there was never any question about vet care; we wanted to keep taking our girls to Dr. Wendy, even though it meant an additional 30 minutes or so of driving with very unhappy felines. It's well worth it! Dr. Wendy is always the picture of calm, always very gentle with our girls (even when the girls themselves are being less than well-behaved...). She takes the time to explain to us what she's done during their appointments and what we should do in terms of aftercare, whether it's something as simple as as their annual shots or something more complex, like their most recent visit (when Heffer had a sprained front leg and a draining tract on one of her back toes...which, as it turns out, could be related to a shoddy declawing job done by the vet her previous owner used). We can tell she's doing what she does because she genuinely loves helping pets, and the staff's love of cats is obvious...every time we go, there's a new stray in the front office, waiting for the right loving home (and trust me, were it not for my husband, they'd probably all be coming home with me). We've never had a negative experience at the clinic, and Dr. Wendy and the staff are really like family. We would never consider trusting the care of our two precious girls to anyone else, and can't recommend MCH enough. Thanks for all you guys do, Dr. Wendy and staff!! Read Less

I've been taking our two cats to see Dr. Simpson since we moved to Raleigh in 2004. She's always been great: very knowledgeable, friendly, and caring. Her office staff is also outstanding; they keep detailed and accurate records of both my cats' shots and visits and send postcard reminders for routine appointments. However, I've noticed whenever I have a non-routine issue with one of my cats lately, the office is VERY slow to respond, despite the receptionist assuring me that they will get back to me ""in the next few minutes"". One of my cats is prone to eating things he shouldn't and, though we're very careful to remove such items from his reach, there have been two slip ups in the past two years. Both times, I was very worried and concerned, of course. Despite my obvious distress, both times I had to wait HOURS to receive a return phone call from Dr. Simpson. While I understand that she may have ""very busy afternoons"", as I was informed by the staff, I feel my cats deserve at least the same amount of care and attention as her office appointments when I have the VERY occasional non-routine issue. I probably will continue to go to Morrisville Cat Hospital for a little while longer, but only until my search for another vet is successful. Read Less

I got 2 kittens at the same time exactly a year ago. They had none of their shots yet and I didn't know their history. I took them both to Dr. Simpson because the office is close to where I live and I'm very lucky to have happened upon this office. They do thorough exams, and Dr Simpson will spend all the time required to answer all your questions. As new kitten owners my husband and I had tons of questions and she stayed with us for more than an hour, we never felt rushed. She spends more time with our cats then my own doctor does with me. She makes great recommendations on toys, litter boxes, cat furniture, diet, etc. I was very impressed with how she handles the cats when giving them shots or doing other uncomfortable things. She distracted my cats with baby food, which they ate while she gave them a shot and they didn't even notice what she was doing! When one of my cats got sick, they saw me on a Saturday. They will do their best to fit you in when you have an emergency. They give you a printed copy of the results of the cat's examination, and all of Dr. Simpson's notes that you can reference later. And the office is very clean, and very quiet due to it being cat only. All of the staff there have been professional. Read Less

My four legged kids and I have been seeing Dr. Simpson since 2003 after my then vet removed 2 teeth from a one year old and then didn't follow up. I knew something else was wrong and we discovered through or because of Dr. Simpson that she was suffering from a Bartonella infection. (This nasty bacterium can resemble gingivitis and cause teeth to fall out if left untreated.) She is a great vet who takes the time and has the patience to help each of her clients get the best care possible. When trying to resolve a tricky diagnosis she confers with other vets and researches carefully. Very thorough. And reasonable in price. The only non-positive thing I have to say is that I am not looking forward to the day when I will have to schedule appointments with her way in advance because she'll have lots of clients. :) Read Less

My poor cat has been limping around for 2 years with what we thought was arthritis. Another vet in CA also missed it but she was going on the previous records from the Chatham Animal Hospital. My cat has been totally tranformed - we are elated! She chases her tail and plays on her 7 foot scratching post like a kitten. My two cats just recently became patients at Morrisville Cat. From the moment we walked in the door they made our two cats feel very welcomed. It was a great experience. I loved the fact that the office is just for Cats!!! That is awesome. For my husband and I who do not own a dog, it would have been hard to bring our two cats into a vet office that sees other animals besides cats throughout the day! I am sure my boys would have freaked. I highly recommend Morrisville Cat. I trust them with my to boys!! :) Read Less

Dr. Wendy Simpson has the best and most gentle cat handling/restraint techniques I have ever seen. I am a 3rd year vet student planning on practicing in an all-feline hospital and I recommend Dr. Simpson to ANYONE with cats. She is a cat lover herself and will always have your cat's best interest in mind. She is very proactive when it comes to your cat's nutrition and can help your cat lose weight (so it will live a longer, healthier life!). She know's more about feline nutrition than any other veterinarian I've ever met. Your cat will be noticeably more relaxed at her quiet, dog-free clinic (which is also the cleanest veterinary hospital I have ever been to). You and your cat will love it! Read Less

My cat & I just went to see Dr. Simpson for the first time today. Thomas has asthma. Before changing to Dr. Simpson we were going to Northwoods Animal Hospital in Cary where the staff is rude & the vets even ruder. Nor did they EVER discuss other treatment plans with me. Dr. Simpson & her staff were so nice and concerned about MY CAT'S needs. Dr. Simpson talked with me for over an hour about the different treatment plans I could do with Thomas. We decided together what was good for him & also what was AFFORDABLE for me!!! She actually broke it down to laymans terms & made sure that I understood all the options. I have never met a vet that is so concerned about the animals's well being. I give her my highest recommendation. So to all you cat lovers, Take them to Wendy Simpson. Read Less

Read Less

Dr. Simpson is a person of rare ability and character. We have been trusting our cats to her for eight years and would never consider leaving the Triangle unless she moved as well! Her staff is well trained and caring. The hospital is clean and a welcoming atmosphere prevails. We can't say enough good about her and the Morrisville Cat Hospital.

(no vet is inexpensive these days) As well as willing to work out payment if necessary. The only non-positive thing I have to say is that I am not looking forward to the day when I will have to schedule appointments with her way in advance because she'll have lots of clients. :) Read Less

After a horrible experience at another vet I found Morrisville Cat Hospital and I am so glad I did. She truly knows and cares about cats. After years of vets telling me not to worry about my cats condition Doctor Simpson not only told me it was something to worry about, but also how to help him. I am so glad we found her. The best thing about Doctor Simpson is her desire to keep cats painfree. She goes as far as giving your cat a painkiller after shots to lessen the chance of discomfort. I was so impressed with her love and care for my cats!! I recommend her highly!!! Read Less

I brought my 9 year old calico to Dr Wendy Simpson looking for pain management help for her arthritis. Turns out she never had arthritis as we were told by the Chatham Animal Hospital the end of 2003. She has plasma cell pododermatitis, aka pillow feet. Jasmine has always been an aggressive cat in the vet office but Dr Simpson handled her gently and effectively - we were amazed! Absolutely recommend Dr Simpson - have never known a more caring and competent vet! Read Less

Read Less
