I have seen two doctors and both have been very professional and thorough in their procedures, explanations of test/lab results and recommendations. Dr. Suter even called me on her day off to let me know lab results and recommendations. Wonderful. Staff is thorough, polite, and invested! The vet is fabulous and goes the extra mile! Did several tests on my cat, determined the problem, gave him some medication, and put him on special prescription food. Only problem, is that the prescription food is VERY expensive. Particularly in a multi-cat household. Wish there was some kind of payment plan. I'm not going to lie, the tests were really expensive, and I'm not sure that all were necessary, nevertheless I trust them. I believe they did everything they could. Honestly, they worked on my cat for over an hour and after closing time. Blood work, fecal sample, urine sample, x-rays, the whole 9 yards! Also, the waiting area and doggie daycare look very well kept. Years ago, we had to put a pet to sleep, and they were so kind to us. We had a private room, we got to hold her, we got to stay as long as we needed, and they sent us some things to remember her by- including a handwritten card (which I still have). Very sweet people. My dog Fuji had to meet with his "traveling" Ortho surgeon and the best option for the day he needed to see her was when she was going to be at Preston Animal Hospital in Morrisville. From the moment I walked in I felt like I was a part of their family. They fussed over him and made me feel like he was important. The facilities were beautiful and clean and all 5 people I came in contact with (dropping off and picking up) were wonderful. AND they didn't charge me as much as other animal hospitals have while Fuji has had to see his surgeon. If I lived closer, Fuji would be a regular at this hospital. Read Less

We absolutely love Dr. Suter!!! She has been our vet for four years with two dogs and a cat, and is always wonderful, listens carefully, and offers real solutions to our problems instead of the usual "it'll heal over time" or "sometimes that just happens to dogs" etc. She's great! I had a wonderful experience with the Staff at Preston Animal Hospital. From the ladies at the front desk that are willing to help out any way possible to the tech and such a sweet and caring vet. I had yet to find a vet that I liked until I went to Preston. She realized how much my dog means to me and how worried i was. She even got on the floor with us to exam him. I love Preston Animal Hospital! I just moved to the Raleigh area about a year ago, and wasn't sure who the best vet would be for my yorkie, Penny. My fiance's co-worker referred him to Dr. Suter at Preston, and I'm so glad we decided to take up his recommendation. First of all, the prices are pretty reasonable. I had been taking my dog to another vet in the area, and was being charged an arm and a leg for simple vet visits. Preston Animal Hospital prices are a bargain compared to what I was paying. Second, my yorkie needed knee surgery on her luxating patellas and Preston Animal Hospital (with the help of Tarheel Vets) provided the *best* care, before, during, and after the procedure. Dr. Suter called me regularly to check up on Penny's progress, and encouraged me to keep in touch with updates. Penny's little knees are working just fine now, thanks to Preston Animal Hospital and Tarheel Vets. Third, we use Preston's boarding services pretty frequently and they always seem to love having Penny. And last, the grooming services are also great! Penny always comes out looking stylish in her fresh puppy cut. I really can't say enough good things about Preston Animal Hospital. I had been using another veterinarian center since my Rudy was a pup and when an emergency came up Preston was the closest option. They took wonderful care of him prior to and after surgery. The Dr took the time to explain treatment options and when it came time to decide on surgery we were very comfortable that we were making the right decision for our boy. Dr. Suter went above and beyond (to put it mildly) the call of duty in every way to not only save my boy, but make sure the 24 hour care he received after we left her office was executed to the highest standards. She communicated with me and the other vets tirelessly, all along, with the most warm-hearted affection and kindness. So far our experience has been pretty good. They are rather pricey and seem to overcharge for medication, but the doctor and staff are very nice and great with my dog. One thing is that they have a random "rule" that they won't phone or fax in a prescription to an online pharmacy, which I'd bet is to discourage customers buying more affordable pet medicines elsewhere. Which is a shame because not everyone can afford to pay a huge markup on the medicines their pet needs. Read Less

Amazing, caring and loving vets and staff. We started with them in 2006 when we moved to the area and kept with them even after we moved to Fuquay-Varina in 2008 (45-60 minute drive). Dr. Sutor is wonderful and always took the time to answer our questions and address our concerns. Whenever we couldn't see our regular vet (Dr. Sutor), Dr Hammer was always just as informative, friendly and welcoming. When it was our beloved pet's time, Dr. Sutor came to our home so that our dog was in a place of comfort and took the body with her. As emotionally painful as the procedure was, we were glad it was with a vet who knew our dog so well and always treated our dog like her own. We used Preston Animal Hospital for over 8 years and would use them again. We have the highest recommendation possible for this facility. Some reviews mentioned that they are more expensive, and while they are more than some other vet offices, the amount really is marginal, and the value is definitely worth the extra dollars. I have been taking my dog to Preston Animal Hospital for ~10 years. Last year, my dog was diagnosed with bladder cancer. This cancer is treatable but it is very aggressive. However, my dog is now in remission (there is no evidence of disease). This is remarkable and not a typical outcome. When she went to NC State Vet school for chemo and radiation, the clinicians were amazed at how early her cancer had been detected because they had not seen it caught that early before. This early detection was no accident. It is because my dog's primary vet at Preston is Dr. Jennifer Suter. She is an excellent diagnostician and without her keen eye and thorough testing, I do not think my dog would have this positive outcome. I cannot recommend her enough. She is willing to answer any questions and always offers a thorough treatment plan with options. I am a scientist and I have always found her diagnosis to be sound and logical. In addition, she is friendly and loves to see the pets. She treats them as if they were own. I am very grateful for the care she has given my dog. Due to all her treatments, my dog has some incontinence. I take her to doggie daycare everyday so that she can play and have someone taking her outside as needed. The staff at Preston are remarkable. They monitor my dog every day and keep me apprised of any changes in her behavior. In addition, they send me pictures of her enjoying daycare. I must acknowledge one particular vet technician, Tyler. He takes a special interest in your pet's care and wellbeing. If you have a concern, he is concerned. He is willing to make a special effort to monitor your pet if he/she seems ill and is willing to give you updates throughout the day. He will also send pictures of your pet to reassure you that they are ok. I highly recommend all the clinicians, Dr. Suter, Dr. Hammer, Dr. Richardson and Dr. Goodwin, at Preston Animal Hospital. They are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The vet technicians, the doggie daycare staff, the receptionists and the groomers are all friendly and welcoming. I've been coming to Preson for 4 years now, and have never had a problem. I used to live in Morrisville and was right down the street, but now live in Durham (40 minutes away) and I still go see Dr. Bauer. I don't drive 40 minutes for nothing! She knows both my doxies explicitly well, down to their exact personalities. I have always had excellent care when I bring my dogs in and am very satisfied. I could go to a closer vet, but why change a good thing? For the people who complain about money, they will always complain. A $50 vet fee is nothing. And that only applies when the doctor examines the dog. Not every visit. Yes, they are a little up there in cost, but hey, it's Cary, and you sometimes get what you pay for. As far as grooming, unfortunately they are not the best groomers. But why go to a vet anyway for grooming? If you're looking for EXCELLENT vet care from a very personable staff, take your dogs here! READING THIS BEFORE YOU GO THERE: 1. VERY EXPENSIVE: they charge doctor visit fee for $50 everytime, and disposal fee for $2, and other fees for vac and test are almost doubled compared with other hospitals. 2. IRRESPONSIBLE DOCTOR CHECK: I went to preston hospital for my cats' vac. The doctor told me they did check cats and there is no flea..Two days after I came back from the hosptial I found fleas on my cats. .Even such a simple test, they can't get it done well. And I can't help thinking the fleas are from the hospital.. if this is true, you figure out their working environment yourself.. For God's Sake now I can't even believe what the claimed to check for my cats. I give them thumb down down for the treatment. Read Less

I have taken my dog to this vet for both vet care and grooming. He's been seen by the vet once, and has been groomed 3 times. Each time, the grooming is poor, and too expensive, ($42 for a 10 pound dog). I've even tried taking in pictures of how I want him groomed, and they still can't get it right. It ends up looking choppy, and they often completely ignore your directions on how you want them groomed. As far as the vet goes, I found them to be quite condescending. They ask you questions about the health and habits of the animal, and then won't actually listen to your response. Before we left, I was given this big presentation of all their dental supplies and asked which ones I would like to buy. I was also heavily persuaded to change his food to the brand they sold. I've been told by more than one vet that the brand he is currently on is best for him, since it is specific to his breed. I felt the whole thing just revolved around money. My dog was groomed here this week, and after I got him home, I noticed that he did not want to open his right eye. I thought maybe they had gotten soap in it, so I irrigated it with saline. He was better the next day, but would only half open the eye. I called and they told me to bring him in. I asked if there would be a charge, and I was told that they weren't sure. NOT SURE???? He was perfectly fine and healthy when I took him in. When I got him home, he would only use one eye. HELLO! They caused whatever problem it was. I'll take him in, but I'm NOT going to pay! In general, there are much better vets and groomers out there than what you will find at Preston. Beware. Read Less
