Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital, owned by Dr. Dennis Orr, provides professional, compassionate care for your pets. We are located just 10 minutes from downtown Concord and 15 minutes from Albemarle, Rockwell, Locust and Midland, North Carolina. Dr. Orr has been treating dogs and cats in Cabarrus County since 1988, and Dr. Aschenbrenner has been in practice since 1999.
The doctors at Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital have education and experience in multiple aspects of veterinary medicine. Combined with our experienced, well-trained staff, this ensures that your pet will receive complete care. We use the most advanced technology and medical options available to help your pet.
We have been located in downtown Mt Pleasant since 2007. Our hospital is almost 8000 sq ft with modern updated amenities We provide quality veterinary services in a more relaxed, personal touch and small-town atmosphere.
We are associated with CEVC -- Cabarrus Emergency Veterinary Clinic in Kannapolis, and Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Charlotte for referrals for medical/surgical specialists when needed.
We can provide your pets with almost everything from a basic Rabies vaccination to complete annual vaccinations; heartworm and intestinal parasite testing; spay/neuter surgeries, declawing, in-hospital laboratory testing, and out-patient and in-patient medical care. We have the latest digital radiographic equipment to provide fast and efficient xrays for your pet when needed.

Do you this is a great group of people they spent almost an hour on the phone helping us get unlost in the country and still took us even though we were an hour and 20 minutes late. The doctor came out and knew us by name and hugged us. This was my first experience there and I was very impressed

I have always had great experiences here. The staff not only shows their extraordinary veterinary skills, but they treat you and your furry loved ones with the utmost compassion and love. I began working with Dr. Orr when I was 17 years old. I have not worked with him in a little over 20 years. There's something to be said about being behind the scenes. I will say, he is one of the nicest, caring human beings I've had the pleasure of knowing. He is always honest with me even when I don't want to hear it. He has always presented me with all of my options no matter what the case. And again, being behind the scenes, I know he's the same person up front as he is in the back! Although you can't make everyone happy, THIS IS ONE HAPPY LADY. Thank you for all you do for me and the pack.

All of the staff are totally Amazing, Passionate and Caring. Such a wonderful group of people. They are all True Animal Lovers. I called late on a Friday and the lady that answered the phone was so very helpful and kind. She told me to come on in and the staff would wait for me to arrive. Needless to say I rushed my dog of 15 years right there. I already had a good idea of what to expect and the staff was totally awesome when it came to the diagnosis. It was a tough time for me and my family but the staff was overwhelmingly supportive of our decision. The staff stayed late so the rest of my family could arrive to say goodbye to our beloved pooch. We received a surprise in the mail a few weeks later. We had received a sympathy card that was signed by all of the staff members in the practice. Each one had not only signed their name but they all added their personal touch. I have never had this type of experience from any other vet in my life. I am still touched by this kind act. Folks, This group of people are a class act.
I can't thank the staff enough for all that they did for my best friend and buddy, also for how they treated my family. You have my business for life with all of my animals.

I started bringing my pets here after a negative experience with a previous vet. My cats had been sick for over 9 months and I was at my wits end. As soon as Dr. Aschenbrenner saw my cats, he immediately knew what it was and how to fix it. My cats recovered in about 10 days. I need an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate vet for my animal companions, and that's why I bring them to Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital. The staff is awesome- friendly, caring, and professional. All the vets are kind, knowledgeable, compassionate, but I like Dr. Aschenbrenner the best. He is like a giant bear with gentle hands. He understands how animals express their moods and he knows how to respond, and is very good at gentling a frightened animal. I wouldn't ever take my animal friends anywhere else.

As soon as Dr. Aschenbrenner saw my cats, he immediately knew what it was and how to fix it. My cats recovered in about 10 days. I need an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate vet for my animal companions, and that's why I bring them to Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital. My family and all my 4 legged babies past and present have been with Dr. Orr and Eileen Moose for 16 + years!! They and their whole staff become such a huge part of your family when your loved one is hurt or sick. They get the best care full of love and compassion!! But they will also be the first to tell you that owning a pet is a long term commitment of love, and how important it is from the very beginning to do wellness and preventive care for your pets to give them a long happy, healthy life. I really do not remember the year that we found Mt Pleasant office, but I do remember the first person to greet us when I open the door. Michelle was there to welcome us with open arms, she cared so much for our dog Kocomo who I will never forget. As years went on Kocomo had pass and we then found our love LT. I knew right away this would be his vet for years to come, after maybe 1-2 years he saw Dr Aschenbrenner and remain under his care till the end. Lt lived 17 years and never hated to go to the vet. I know it was from the great care he received, and I really think he knew just how much he was loved there. Michelle and Dr. Aschenbrenner was the only face he seen for many years. The love and the compassion they had for Lt melted my heart. They were always there to help in any way they could, from just a call to tips on care as he became a senior dog. They were very sensitive to the conditions that developed from year to year. I was so very glad they both were in there with us in his last hour of life. Thank you so much for all the love we felt from the both of you. In August my son also lost his GS to really bad hips and he also felt the love and compassion from Dr Orr. Both days were very hard for our family and a very hard choice to make and then to handle in days,weeks to come! If you are looking for a Veterinarian office please check this office. Everyone that I have seen in this office has been awesome, and the office is aways so clean and well kept. If time comes that I would get another dog..I will use Mt Pleasant Hospital again. Thanks for all you do for all the fur babies!

I need an experienced, knowledgeable, and compassionate vet for my animal companions, and that's why I bring them to Mt. Pleasant Animal Hospital. The staff is awesome- friendly, caring, and professional. All the vets are kind, knowledgeable, compassionate, but I like Dr. Aschenbrenner the best. He is like a giant bear with gentle hands. He understands how animals express their moods and he knows how to respond, and is very good at gentling a frightened animal. I wouldn't ever take my animal friends anywhere else.

My family and all my 4 legged babies past and present have been with Dr. Orr and Eileen Moose for 16 + years!! They and their whole staff become such a huge part of your family when your loved one is hurt or sick. They get the best care full of love and compassion!! But they will also be the first to tell you that owning a pet is a long term commitment of love, and how important it is from the very beginning to do wellness and preventive care for your pets to give them a long happy, healthy life. I really do not remember the year that we found Mt Pleasant office, but I do remember the first person to greet us when I open the door. Michelle was there to welcome us with open arms, she cared so much for our dog Kocomo who I will never forget. As years went on Kocomo had pass and we then found our love LT. I knew right away this would be his vet for years to come, after maybe 1-2 years he saw Dr Aschenbrenner and remain under his care till the end. Lt lived 17 years and never hated to go to the vet. I know it was from the great care he received, and I really think he knew just how much he was loved there. Michelle and Dr. Aschenbrenner was the only face he seen for many years. The love and the compassion they had for Lt melted my heart. They were always there to help in any way they could, from just a call to tips on care as he became a senior dog. They were very sensitive to the conditions that developed from year to year. I was so very glad they both were in there with us in his last hour of life. Thank you so much for all the love we felt from the both of you. In August my son also lost his GS to really bad hips and he also felt the love and compassion from Dr Orr. Both days were very hard for our family and a very hard choice to make and then to handle in days,weeks to come! If you are looking for a Veterinarian office please check this office. Everyone that I have seen in this office has been awesome, and the office is aways so clean and well kept. If time comes that I would get another dog..I will use Mt Pleasant Hospital again. Thanks for all you do for all the fur babies!

Great vet services. Took my cat in for shots and checkup. Courteous and caring staff and so glad to see Dr. Orr is now in this office. Very reasonable prices.

Dr Orr has been wonderful with all our dogs. I have always felt he is providing the best care and advice while never overcharging or padding the bill. Hi compassion for the animals is obvious. We were happy to follow him to Mt Pleasant when he moved there and have found the staff there to be great. Thank you Dr Orr for the care you give all our dogs!
