If you are looking for a very cat-friendly and patient vet, this is the right place! We just took our cat for the first time yesterday, and immediately fell in love with the level of care and service they offered. They made my Kitty feel calm and safe. I only called and explained the situation and the tests that I needed and how we were looking for affordable care and I was so lucky to have my call answered by a wonderful and helpful caregiver who explained the same situation had happen to her baby(dog) and the hospital she went to and recommend I call and talk to them and now MY baby is diagnosed and on her was to be all better. Great place to take my pup and cats. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The office is very clean and does not smell at all! I know some vets do smell which may be a problem to some sensitive people. Read Less

I highly recommend Dr. Panuska and his staff. They are amazing, caring people. His time devoted to explain and suggest wellness ideas for pets as a Vet is refreshing. Their prices are reasonable too. They love our pets as much as we do. Read Less

While traveling I noticed some swelling in my Rotti, Phoenix's rear right knee. Dr. Panuska could see her the very next morning when I called. Phoenix is very tense whenever she has to see the vet but Dr. Panuska and his great team of support people handled her beautifully. Some cleaning of a puncture wound and meds and we were good to go. I called several times over the next few days because the swelling was spreading into her foot. The doc was very patient and reassuring that it was not unusual for this to happen. After 7 days Phoenix was back to her chipper self. Can't thank the people at Friendship Animal Hospital enough. A great place to take your pets. Read Less

Very glad this place is finally closed. The vet and wife enjoyed cycling through staff like crazy. There were days the doctor came in reeking of alcohol and he would try everything to not have to be in office. They also enjoyed writing us checks that bounced. :) Read Less

I came in with high hopes after reading other yelp reviews but I have to say I didn't enjoy the visit. I have a 4 yr old lab that was due for 1 vaccination and heart worm preventative medication. I have moved around a lot in the time I've had her, so I've been to 4 different veterinarians with her. New patients need to provide their old records (duh) but I could not find a contact email any where on the website but I did find one in an emailed auto response confirming the apt that said "any questions? email us at xxx" I emailed to that address and never got a response. When I walked into the office it is really beautiful and feels more like a doctors office. When I arrived the nurse came straight towards me and immediately asked for her records without really greeting me or my dog first. OK, maybe she had a tough day or is a very straight forward person but it came off a little cold. I emailed the records to a new address they provided and then everything was fine. Side Note: there were cats hanging around, which is great, I love cats, but not great when your large dog doesn't feel the same. I have control of my dog, but things happen and it just doesn't seem like a good idea to let cats mill around right in front of her nose. Also, what if someone is allergic to cats and bringing their dog in? Anyway, appointment starts and we go into separate room. The nurse asks a few questions about my dog and says something about her being over weight but never directly told me she was overweight. So....is she? By how much? Kind of important information once they get older to tell me directly about that. She then tries to take her temp through her bottom...(with a regular thermometer) what technology is this? Every vet I've been to takes the temp through her ear. Maybe that's not as exact a measurement, but she just gave up after my dog wasn't having it the old fashioned way.A few minutes later the doctor comes in by swinging the door wide open suddenly and jumping down at my dog like "Want to play?!" Which scared me and my dog and to be honest made me angry that he scared my dog. I've never heard that the best way to approach a new dog is by jumping at her after suddenly swinging a door open. They then put her on the table and ran all the normal tests but I didn't like the way they handled her. It seemed a little rough. I mean, she's a big, rough kind of dog, but they never made her feel comfortable with them. They then gave her the vaccine while she is standing on the table, through her nose which she snorts back out some and gets all over my face! Couldn't you (a vet and nurse) know that was going to happen? Don't you do this all day? Couldn't you have told me to move? Whatever.Then as we go to leave the nurse hands me a coupon for their online store and says if I order today the heart worm medication will get there before the holidays. What? Every other vet actually gives you the medication before you leave and charges you right then. Now I have to wait for the medicine to be delivered. Overall, kind of an irritating experience. The staff didn't seem to "get" dogs. Maybe it was just big dogs, but we didn't really feel welcomed to the new vet. I think this place is probably great for small dogs and cats but we felt out of place. I will probably give it one more chance, maybe it was an off day for them. Read Less

Had problems with the staff. Not very professional. Decided to go to a different vet after being with South Charlotte Animal Hospital for over 2 years. Had to call 3 times just to get the records transferred over to the new clinic. Have been hung up on. I own a pitbull and they were to scared to handle the dog to give it a proper examination. There are better options than these guys in the area. Read Less

Just moved to the area and normally I find the google/yelp reviews really helpful when making decisions on restaurants, doctors, etc. This vet got really good reviews, but sadly my animals and I did not get good service so I would like to provide a review of my experience. After scheduling not one but two appointments (killing a day off work each) for my cat and dog to receive their yearly exam/shots and heartworm tablets I have still only successfully received the heartworm tablets. Circumstances arise and I certainly understand that but it needs to be a two-way street. I gave SCAH a second chance but they won't be getting a third (or a third day of my time off work). Read Less

Excellent doctor who is up to date on today's medicine and who has an excellent bedside manner. Dr. Herman definitely has the client's pets as his top priority! Staff is great and friendly. Hospital is top notch! I couldn't ask for any better! Read Less

South Charlotte Animal Hospital makes our life really healthy and gives us ways to extend our animals lives ..I suggest them for all yelp users , friends and clients ..
