The people that work there are nice enough but WOW they are expensive. I got a quote from another vet that was less than half of what they were charging me. The vet suggested getting my puppy fixed at four months as well as some kind of hip procedure (my pup is completely healthy). The other vet I talked to HIGHLY discouraged getting my pup fixed before 6 months and whatever kind of procedure that was. I wasn't even asked if I wanted to get my dog fixed they just immediately started pushing it on me. I got my dog from a highly reputable breeder and they called me after i sent them the paperwork from animal hospital at Brier Creek . They recommended that I go to a different vet because it was overpriced and they were concerned about the amount of dewormer he was being given. I spent over $100 both times I went and it was just too expensive. I am prepared to spend whatever I need to on my pup but I don't want to be taken advantage of. Read Less

The staff at AHBC loves their patients! We started taking our rescue here back in July and everyone was very friendly, patient, and kind. As a rescue, he's quite the nervous fellow, and they were so gentle with him! My dog needed emergency surgery because he swallowed a golf ball, I took him there around 5PM(they close at 5:30) she did the surgery anyway and everyone that worked there stayed past 8:30PM. Not only were all the staff great but also the veterinarian during the surgery found something else wrong with my dog that could have eventually killed him and she fixed that as well and even then I still didnt pay the amount of the full estimate they previously gave me. We have been taking our two fur babies here since they were puppies. One had developed some extreme anxiety issues and needs to be eased into things. We went to them three times to have his nails clipped. The third visit, most recently, we reached out for help because his paws were bleeding. We made an appointment and asked for heavy sedation so he would sleep since he really does not do well with nail cuts. When making the appointment they did not mention that we had to give him oral sedation, they called us one hour before it had to be given to tell us about it otherwise we would be forced to make a new appointment, very unprofessional. Then we took him in and the appointment was a disaster. After him not being fully asleep, and enough sedation that he should be, they continued to force a muzzle and holding him down to attempt the nail cut. We were asked to leave the room but when we saw our dog again, he was traumatized. Not even I could touch him, which is upsetting. We sat in the parking lot for a lengthy period of time to find a way to drive him home. They had us pay and did not give help to get him home, which took an hour. The vet traumatized our dog and never got his nails cut. He unnessacarily went through that horrible experience and they did not help him afterwards. They are not trained to handle animals who have anxiety issues or need some extra attention. Read Less

A clean facility with friendly staff. I prefer not to keep my cats updated on vaccines because they are entirely indoors and have been vaccinated several times throughout their lives. I brought one of my three kitties in for a routine exam and urinalysis because of some potty issues she was having. The doctor refused a urinalysis because kitty wasn't current on a rabies vaccine and said her staff was at risk...but then she continued to do a physical exam and administered another a vaccine without hesitation. I guess there is only risk of being bitten during a rabies vaccine....which wouldn't take affect immediately anyway.I understood they had a different view on vaccinations and moved on in a respectful way, then at check out they refused to allow me to schedule another kitties appointment because I told them I did not want a rabies vaccine for him either. I understand it's state law but they're also my animals and I've never been refused service in this way, they also didn't think to offer me a titer test which I've done in the past for other veterinarians and would have been happy to spring for.I will not be back and will be finding a more understanding and empathetic veterinarian for my three cats and future pets. It's really a shame because everyone I interacted with was friendly until I became the lady with crazy rabid cats. Read Less

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I have only been a client for a couple of months and only seen the vet once. She seems very thorough and knowledgeable.  The staff is very nice.  I also have one of my dogs groomed there. He is a rescue and gets pretty freaked out.  The Groomer has done a great job. The staff also helped me out with some recommendations for pet sitting after I had a horrible experience at Paws at Play at Brier Creek. Try out this vet!! Dr. Goetz and her team saved my dog's life last year and I am forever grateful. I was lucky enough to see the vet nurse that helped perform the life saving surgery the day I brought my other dog in for an illness visit last week. I was delighted to find out that another vet had joined the practice, Dr. George. When i contacted AHBC they made sure she was seen the following morning even though they already had a very busy schedule. When we met Dr. George, my dog was immediately at ease with her. This is not always the case with this dog so I am even more happy to have found a vet where my dog feels comfortable even when unwell. I couldn't say enough wonderful things about the Animal Hospital At Brier Creek if I wrote for days.  Everyone there is always so friendly and attentive. The staff always makes sure that pricing and take home care is well explained.  Dr. G has helped me to save money that other practices would have probably happily taken by making sure that I am well educated on my dogs issues. We are there frequently enough that the front desk staff often knows me by voice on the phone and I have yet to have anything short of a fabulous experience.  In addition to helping me with my dog they have also helped me with several strays I have found. I've been taking my dog Oreo here since I moved to the area 5 years ago. They are so nice and helpful. Oreo can be difficult and they don't seem to mind too much. Holy Moley. I love love love this place and it is right in my backyard! FABULOUS service and knowledge. Caring professionals from bottom to top. I took my fur babies to Dr. Goetz and I would never take them anywhere else. I have a 5 year old chocolate lab and a 13 Persian cat. Ozzy is getting up there in age for a perisan and is very delicate these days. Dr. Goetz has such an amazing bedside manner with him and has a gentle calming presence so Ozzy has no trouble warming up to her. Which I have found is not always the case when going to others vet. Brody is still very playful- as most labs are but Dr. Goetz is able to get him to settle down as during his exams. Ozzy and Brody are very different but the quality of their care is not. Not only does Dr. Goetz have a great temperament with my babies, she is also very great with me. The few times Ozzy and Brody have been sick she breaks down everything I need to do, what to expect and her follow goes above and beyond most human doctors. Not only is Dr. Goetz great but so is her team. I never have an issue getting an appointment or any of my questions answered and the three of us are always greeted by name when we come into the clinic. I cannot even express in words how much I appreciate Drs. Goetz and Daube, and the rest of the staff at Animal Hospital at Brier Creek. My wife and I moved to the area in February of last year and started taking our cat, Petunia, to this vet as it was close to our apartment. We were incredibly lucky for that.The staff here always treated Petunia gently and lovingly. Tunie recently passed away from a rare form of Leukemia, but in the several months prior Dr. Goetz would call frequently (after each treatment of chemo and occasionally just to check in) to make sure Tunie was doing well. I can't thank this office enough for all of their kindness during one of the worst nights ever. Our poor Donovan had to be put down last night and every single person from Dr George to all of the aides were so very kind and understanding. They didn't fluff up his diagnosis or give us false hope as other vets did. Sadly he was an elderly dog with congestive heart failure. It was time. I was incredibly impressed with the staff when we brought our dog in for her post-adoption checkup. The vet techs and the doctor were very thorough with their exam and explained everything to me in a way that was easy to understand. I never felt rushed at all, and it was obvious how much everyone cares about their work.Our first visit was with a newly adopted shelter dog. She is older and has arthritis. It was bad enough at the time that she couldn't jog or jump. She is so much better now. She can easily walk for several miles and jog a pretty good distance. The staff here was always very helpful and friendly, the doctor on the other hand I had mixed emotions about. I was able to hear Dr. Goetz on the other side of the door talking about how I was not taking my dog's condition seriously, and it was very disheartening considering I was there trying to get the best care I could for her. We also had an incident when I left her there for the day for testing and was told that I would hear mid day when to pick her up. I finally called after 5 pm after not hearing anything, again the nurses were very helpful and friendly, Dr. Goetz on the other hand responded to my inquiry by saying "believe it or not there are other sicker animals here." I didn't know how to respond to this, all I needed to know was when I could come get my puppy. We decided to no longer use them after this and have been very happy elsewhere. Read Less

I finally decided my last visit was today. I've been going here for maybe 4 years now? With 3 different cats. Two of which have passed since and we recently got a new cat from a shelter in August. I kept telling myself i was paying too much every time, and I always felt "swindled" into add-ons! Dr Goetz will create a print out of what you "NEED" to get for the cat, give it to the nurse and have her present it as "this is your total cost". Make sure you READ EVERY SINGLE LINE ITEM! They will sneak things in. Especially a certain shot or for the love of God FOOD! Every time I go they want to get me on the food they sell. Also, the cat I got from the shelter received a particular shot (I wish I could rem which one) but when I came to Dr. Goetz in Aug a few days after getting our cat for the "free" exam (since she was from a shelter) they told me the shot the shelters give are "weak" and not strong enough or have expired so I needed to give our cat another one!! Why oh why didn't i just walk out? I'm so regretting all the money i've spent here. Also, our last cat that passed, we spent so much money trying to figure out what was wrong. It was just test after test after test and in the end....we had to put her down anyway. Please let me note: THE REST OF THE STAFF IS ALWAYS NICE TO ME and courteous!! Dr. Goetz was the only veterinarian, out of a slew of veterinarians, that tested my blind cat's blood pressure and treated it (which was twice the norm for cats) even though it is common knowledge that many blind cats lose their vision due to high blood pressure. She is the only one who took my senior cat's health seriously, offering maintenance diets, treatment for inflamed and swollen ears (after 3 other vets couldn't address his problematic huge cheeks and ear-base which were clearly infected) and gave kind, gentle care. She called me PERSONALLy-- not just a follow-up service through a secretary--- to ask how my cat was and to deliver test results. She is thorough and has fantastic kitty-bed side manner. If you are desperate to find someone who can help your pet or simply seek a truly effective permanent maintenance-care vet, consider Brier Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Goetz is the best. Read Less

I brought in a lost dog this morning to check to see if he was microchipped. Debra, Ashley and Dominique immediately helped me with a leash and asking all sorts of questions about the dog. Detective Ashley looked on Craigslist and Triangle Lost Pet to help find this sweet little man's parents. She then called around to other vet clinics and VOILA! She found Dad!!!! For my new kitty I needed to have all of the shots for him.  I called and they gave me the price, a la carte.  Then they mentioned that all of those plus lots more things are included in their year long silver or gold plan (this being $44/month).  I went in for the appointment, and was showed a sheet on the gold plan with deliverables (again, showing $44/month for year).  I agreed to get that.  Then after most of the work was done, I was given the credit card authorization form, and within the fine print it said there is also a $50 enrollment fee.  WHAT??  When I presented this to them, the nurse and the office manager both appeared confused that their own flyer they show didn't say anything about the fee.  But said nothing could be done about it, and I would have to pay it.  What a hoax!  If they really did feel a mistake was made, then they shouldn't charge it.  Otherwise, it looks to be on purpose.Nothing is worse than when companies try to swindle money... or won't make an effort if it indeed was just an error. Animal Hospital at Brier Creek is AMAZING!I brought two of my sweet cats (ages 5 & 10)  for check-ups, flea prevention, and general concerns about their wellbeing-from the second I called to make an appointment both ladies at the front desk were amazingly kind and helpful. I had to call again on the day of the appointment because I couldn't find him when I was ready to go! They were very understanding about delaying my appointment 20 minutes. I was seen immediately once I checked in!Also when I got there my cat had gotten scared in the carrier during the car ride and had made a mess. Without hesitation the nice vet techs cleaned the carrier and gave me several puppy pads to lay in the bottom of it for the ride home! I'm sure that whole process was kind of gross so I'm immensely grateful!The Veterinarian and staff were very understanding about my finance concerns and always showed me ALL the options for work to be done with my kitties-they didn't put the pressure on but instead said I had a window of time to decide now that the cat had been scene and analyzed recently.The waiting area is super cute and there was a kitten up for adoption in an adorable pink crate. You can tell that everyone who works there really cares for animals-and that's the kind of place I want to go!!Last but certainly not least, they kept surprising me with cute little touches of care regarding my furrbaby. They will provide you with a binder that has information on animal health that is personalized toward your individual pet! Also when I got in the waiting room they had a colorful towel with cat treats and (if my cat likes it, cat nip!) At the end of the visit when I was already really pleased and happy with the care provided, I was offered a cute little toy to take home for my baby!What a thoughtful, caring business. I am so impressed with this animal hospital! I had never been there before but was in the market for a new, better vet. My dog had been coughing for a few days and was worried so I called them at 7:30 am on a Monday. Dominique was a gem! She was able to fit me in that day and was so pleasant to talk to! We went there and were greeted by the friendly staff and filled paperwork out immediately. Gwen, the vet nurse was so cool and our pup just loved her! You could tell she loved animals and was great at what she does. Jen, our vet was so personable and knowledgeable. She was down-to-earth and exactly what we have been looking for in a vet. They gave us a binder of information for our pup and prescribed her pills to help with her minor kennel cough. They spoiled her with treats and attention the entire time! They called the next day to check in on her and let's just say, we were very impressed! Our old vet is history! Unfortunately we are only living in Raleigh for a temporary time but if anyone is in the market for a wonderful animal hospital, give this place a chance.. You won't be disappointed! Would not recommend..  Brought my pet in for an annual check.  All of the tests were negative and the vet was friendly but there the positive goes out the door..  They would only authorize a years worth of HW preventative if I bought it directly from their website.  Actually told me they would only give me a written prescripion for six months if I got it filled elsewhere.   I'm used to being able to get a Rx and just get it filled online.  What a pain.  They gave me three prescriptions for my pet and  sent me to three different places to get them filled..  One of the places were charging three times as much then the last vet i got it from.  Will not be going back, these folks are just way too difficult to work with. The staff is great, the location convenient, the listening skills and diagnostic capability of the vet, really really horrible. After weekly visits and antibiotics over several months finally scheduled a visit to just talk with Dr. G (yes willing to pay for the privilege of a consult). Dr. G actually said, "If my dog was really that sick she would need to be at NC Vet hospital." It was a put down statement to let me know I didn't know what I was talking about. Two days later I am back in the office with my poor dog, thank goodness it was Dr. G's day off, guess where the other Vet sent us straight to NC State Vet ER where my dog was diagnosed with pancreatitis and ended up almost dying. She was in the hospital for 5 days. I would have written this sooner, but someone else had a similar experience only their puppy didn't make it, not sure what happened to that review, but I will monitor mine. Read Less

We are so thank-ful for all the ladies at BC Animal Hospital. At our previous groomer in Durham, the two poodles would come back scared and thirsty. The larger poodle almost had his spirit crushed and he was not the same for a couple days. Now, the poodles are happy after grooming because they are treated with love and kindness. I wanted to send a warning for folks in the Brier Creek area about the bad experiences I had at Brier Creek Animal Hospital. The biggy was when I went in expecting to pay $150 and the bill was $717 after the fact!! The 'estimate' they send had a big written estimate for $123 on one page. Guess I missed the small print in the middle of heavy text saying dental could range from $250-500. Plus, got a phone call that during the proceedure my cat needed more medication - but no one told me that would add another $150! Other issues - I saw them drop my cat for one. Also, they overload you with information and vet jargot that you feel completely confused and stressed out, and that you better agree to anything. I had several experiences there and each one was more stressful than the first. There are plenty of other good vets - so best of luck finding one of those! Read Less

I have been bringing my cat to see Dr. Goetz since Animal Hospital at Brier Creek opened. All the staff is super friendly and always cares so much about my kitty. My cat doesn't usually do very well at the vet, but the staff is so gentle here that she does better than she has anywhere. If there is a wait to see the doctor, I am always offered something to drink. The nurse always give my kitty catnip and a free toy. They always spend lots of time with me when I have questions and the nurses are so knowledgable. Dr. Goetz is very gentle and caring with my kitty and always spends the extra time with her. They are the best hospital I have ever been too. And, everything is always so clean and it doesn't smell like an animal hospital. Read Less

I've been going to this particular vet for about a year now and Dr. Goetz is great! She's wonderful at explaining things in a way you can definitely understand and will even provide pictures. Her staff is very professional and courteous as well.Everyone really takes the time to get things done right. The reason I didn't give them 5 stars, is it's a realitively new office and they are still working out some of the kinks. If you happen to get the Val-pak, there is always a coupon for $10 off your first visit. Give it a try! You'll be impressed.I would definitely recommend this vet to my friends and family. Read Less
