Ansede Animal Hospital

Raleigh, North Carolina
General Info
The Ansede Animal Hospital in Raleigh provides veterinary care by focusing on the subtle clues of the world that animals can perceive through individual sounds, smells, and motions. Families in North Carolina face awareness-based experiences beyond the possible effects. The first interactions between people happen via non-verbal signs. Prior to any physical inspection, the team assesses tail placement, spatial hesitancy, and micro-reactions. The intensity of lighting and scent in individual rooms can be regulated to prevent startle reflexes from the clients. The appointments are scheduled on a regulation timeline which is pegged wholly on an individual pet’s basis. Some practitioners who focus on orthopedic testing begin their work with these specific assessments, while those who study muscle patterns begin scanning and observing the body based on visible tension patterns. Ansede Animal Hospital focuses on multi-species support via diagnostics, laboratory services, illness treatment and prevention programs, orthopedics, dermatology, and oral health services. Examinations might be stopped or adjusted when behaviors like lip licking, paw shifting, and gaze averting are noticed. Pain indicators evaluation is based on posture and breath patterns rather than vocalization, which is important for stoic breeds and prey species animals. Re-acclimating the animal after treatment is encouraged. Families are briefed on ongoing behavioral responses and secondary stress signals, as well as the importance of prioritizing decompression needs over activities. Home care programs were designed based on the pets’ sensory thresholds rather than conventional physical parameters. Ansede Animal Hospital offers North Carolina families veterinary care that goes beyond the exam table to listen closely when animals talk through comfort, confusion, or calm. Ansede Animal Hospital services include: Laboratory, Behavioral Counseling, Grooming, Diagnostics, Wellness Exams, Boarding, Cardiology, Preventive Medicine, Nutritional Counseling and Orthopedic Surgery. This diversity ensures that pet owners in Raleigh and the surrounding communities can access a full spectrum of services, from basic health checkups to intricate veterinary procedures. The clinic remains a trusted partner in the Raleigh area by offering services that ensure pets’ comfort and health throughout their lives.

Brought my dog here 3 months ago for a surgery consultation to get his cherry eye fixed. I was given a quote for the price and set the appt same day. When I brought my dog in for the surgery, I was given a quote for $300 more than the initial quote. When I informed them that I called a couple days prior to confirm the price, they took the quote back and said they had made an error. In comparing the new updated quote to the original, there were multiple services (ones that monitor your pet's vitals during surgery while under anesthesia) that had been excluded or upcharged that were originally "included" on the original quote. They would not honor the original quote with the excuse that there was a "30 day expiration" on it. Mind you, there was NO expiration date on any of the quotes. When I told them I made the appt. based off the original quote, they didn't have a response. When I asked them why wasn't the "30 day policy" communicated at the time of scheduling or EVEN on the quote, they didn't have a response. Before I had gotten there I had asked if they had taken care credit to which the receptionist replied yes they did I proceeded to get there with my cat get him checked in and get all the registration and everything taken care of to be told they do not take care credit that they could not help me because I did not have the funds available to pay with anything other than my CareCredit. My one star rating is for the simple fact that their front staff is not on the same page and they wasted crucial time for my dying pet. I ended up having to go to a specialty cat clinic and then ended up having to go to the NC State emergency vet clinic. I would not send my worst enemies pets to this Clinic. Visuals are huge Judgment of what the clinic is and looking at their Clinic it is dirty and disorganized and if the front end of their business looks like that God only knows what the back end of that business looks like and how competent their doctor is. It is not a welcoming environment and that's not an environment that helps either the animal or the person. Read Less

By far the shittiest vet I've ever taken a dog to. This is the second time that we've had a dog get hit by a car and get fractured or broken pelvic bones and have taken them to him because we trusted and believed him when he told us his surgeon could do it, all to find out his surgeon "doesn't do pelvic repairs". The first dog, was well enough to make it through the night til the next day when we would then discuss surgery but sadly she some how did not make it through the night. This second one, we took to him for a "recommendation" as he gave us hope that his surgeon could help our baby, allot be told his surgeon couldn't do pelvic repairs. He is the biggest bullshitter there is all for money. He doesn't care about your pets at all..he is just going to do what he can to get money money money. Read Less

Just don't go here. If you are looking to put your furry friend down, and want it to be a gentle experience don't even think about coming here. We had to take our cat up here to put him under since he was in so much pain, (we were told that it was probably a heart attack, or strokes, something along those lines). We were very sad to have to put him down. Saying that, I paid $69 basically to have this vet scare my cat to death. Literally. The guy didn't even get the injection in correctly. My cat died from LITERALLY BEING SCARED TO DEATH. Which I understand, the cat doesn't know the vet, etc. I understand that you have to be a little callous with your job. It is never a happy site to have to see a pet die, or have to be put down. However, the way that this guy treated my cat you would have thought he had no feelings towards the animal or what he was doing. My cat was already dying sir, did you really have to treat him like you did? The answer is absolutely not. I get it was near the end of your work day, but seriously? Learn to fake some sympathy. Never again will I ever set foot into this place, or use this doctor if I don't have to. Read Less

I'm not someone who likes to give bad reviews, and I normally give 5 stars. but I'm really disappointed this time when I visit Ansede to buy some heart worm prevention pills for my dog. I won't visit them again! I called them first and the price for heartgard plus was reasonable,  which was about 29. but when I went there and picked it up, they gave me a similar product but different brand. They explained that the ingredients was the same. But when I search it online, the price of that product was only $19. I feel like they were trying to sell a cheaper product but charging me the higher price. It's all about integrity. When I went back and ask for an explanation, they immediately give me the heartgard plus (29 dollar product) to exchange. However, this is not the first time I went there, they performed regular health check for my dog, and the job was well done. Read Less

Highly disappointed with this vet experience and I will NOT go back. My cat had diarrhea and vomit for a day and had become severely dehydrated. My previous vet, who I trusted, recently moved so I was wary to begin with. I hate how a lot of vets will try to do every single test possible and then charge you $2,000 to ultimately end up saying: "Well, it was probably just a stomach bug." Of course I get there and immediately they wanted to do 100 different tests, x-rays, the gamut. When I objected they said: "Well animals can't talk so we have to do everything just to make sure." Look, as a human I've had a stomach bug before & never needed x-rays! I thought that and a lot of the other things were excessive and told them so which they were not happy about and tried to pressure me into them which I didn't appreciate. Let's take it one step at a time, alright? If the first thing doesn't make her feel better then we can proceed with other tests. Reluctantly, they let me have my way but I got an uncomfortable vibe from them. They then wanted to take my cat to the back to give her some shots and fluids. I asked why they couldn't do that in front of me, I didn't think my cat would be comfortable being manhandled and prodded my strangers in a strange place but they said that was what they had to do. So they took her away and I immediately hear her start wailing. Suddenly the door flings open and the vet comes in yelling at me because she freaked out and scratched them and was going beserk. Apparently I was supposed to warn them that she would try to fight back when poked with a needle. She's a cat, you idiot, what do you EXPECT?!? He then tried to tell me they were going to have to put her under to give her the shots and I said no way, bring her to me and I will hold her while you administer everything. So then they brought her out to me IN AN AQUARIUM full of my cats urine- she was so scared she peed herself and it was sloshing around the aquarium and she was soaking wet. I held on to her while the nurse gave her the shots and fluid and remarked "she is a completely different animal with you than when she was with us." Yeah, no kidding... The vet never came back to see me after yelling at me which I thought was just the icing on the cake. Despite all this the price for everything was higher than I am used to which did not make me pleased, especially considering the stress, terror and urine. The next day he called and when I asked about the blood work he said her blood work was "decent" and then wouldn't go into detail. "Decent?!?" What?? What does that even mean?! Don't waste your time. Go to Cityvet in Raleigh. They are more professional, helpful, and way cheaper. Read Less

This all happened about 4 years ago, but the details are still very vivid. My girlfriend's 4 year old chihuahua started having diarrhea once we moved to the area. She took our girl to Ansede and they told her she had a bacterial infection in her uterus and they had to perform surgery immediately. Willing to do anything for our dog, we foolishly trusted her life to these incompetent and rude "professionals". Blood tests clearly showed the dog was anemic and instead of treating her with antibiotics or getting her iron up, they botched her surgery. Instead of calling us, we arrive to pick her up and they tell us she's bleeding internally and we have to drive across town to Cary to get her emergency care (you can't leave your dog overnight apparently). So we rush 20 mins while this dog yelps in agony, spend another $1500 at VSH, only to have the poor kid die an hour or so later. We had an autopsy performed which proves she died from the failed cauterization during her surgery. It broke my heart to see that dog suffer like that and my only suggestion to you is that if you Love your Dog, do not take her to these people.Read Less

I've been taking my dogs to Dr. Ansede for over 10 years, you can't ask for a better vet. It's always easy to get an appointment, even last minute. Prices are very affordable; probably because the facility while it more than adequately supporting its services, is modest, and the fact that Dr. Ansede is willing to take a conservative approach to care without making you feel like you're doing your pets a disservice if you don't get a lot of tests, etc that some vets seem to push (which often result in nothing more than additional expense to the pet owner) while still informing you of all options. The whole staff is wonderful, and I love that no matter what your animal comes in for whether it's surgery or routine vaccines, they always call the next day to check and see how your pet is doing. It's such a great practice! Read Less

After reading some solid reviews of the Ansede Animal Hospital on Google, I took my new kitty to Dr. Ansede for his first vet visit and was pleased with my experience.  Everybody was very warm and friendly and the process of checking in was quite efficient. As with most great veterinarians, Dr. Ansede has calming hands that put the little guy at ease.  The nurses were also very patient with my squirmy kitten (and me for not being able to keep him still).Ansede offers this Feline Promise program that is a great deal for young kittens.  Check their website for more details, but basically it covers all of the necessary shots and other tests for the first year of your cat's life.  They also offer spay/neuter procedures at a very decent price (~ $80 for the procedure and pain meds).I may have hit the jackpot with this vet.  So far so awesome!

Read Less

Really good and caring Doctor. Very knowledgeable and detail oriented. Great diagnostician. Truly quintessential professional and stellar veterinarian. The staff is very polite and accommodating. Very excited about the new service of Grooming. Equipment is brand new and the area is very clean. The groomer did an impeccable job. All around great place. These people really care about your pets. Having horrible experiences in the past, I am very happy with Doctor Ansede, his employees and hospital's overall approach to the veterinary medicine.

Read Less

I'd give Doc Ansede 10 stars if I could! He and his staff treated my sweet pup, Dante, with amazing care. They were honest, did not ever try to oversell me on services, and were extremely accomodating and understanding when he had extreme anxiety going to the vet. Even when I had to put him to sleep they were warm, caring, comforting, and compassionate. What was certainly one of the hardest things I've ever done was softened a by their care. I will always bring my animals to Ansede.
