In addition to being a full service animal hospital, we also offer boarding and grooming services. We have one professional pet groomer on staff: Kim Ogus. We also offer routine baths and other grooming services such as nail trims and expression of anal glands.
We are connected to Quail Corners Animal Hospital, which is a 24-hour emergency hospital, so someone is always available to help you with your veterinary needs, day or night. Call us for an appointment today!
About our veterinarians:
Dr. Muri Szabo completed his undergraduate education in 1981 at Michigan State University. From there he attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, where he graduated with his DVM in 1985. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since that time. He moved to Raleigh in 1995 and began working at Hidden Valley in 2003. He is currently the lead veterinarian at Hidden Valley.
Dr. Amy Valenzisi received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lebanon Valley College in 1993 and a PhD in Plant Physiology from Penn State in 1999. She graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. V became a part of the Hidden Valley Animal Hospital team in 2008.
Dr. Meredith Berry graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2001. She received her DVM in 2005 from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Berry originally began working at Hidden Valley in 2000 as a veterinary assistant. When she graduated from vet school she began working at Quail Corners Animal Hospital before coming back over to Hidden Valley in January 2010.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Sabadish. I've had dogs, one after another, since childhood, and have interacted with many vets throughout my life, some great, some not so much. Dr. Sabadish really stands out.When my husband's beloved pug, Wally, was old and ailing, Dr. Sabadish provided thoughtful and compassionate care not just for the dog, but for my husband. She clearly wanted the best for his dog and for my husband. She considered cost concerns automatically, without being asked. When it was time to end Wally's pain, Dr. Sabadish was extremely calming and kind. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.We have one dog left who is the sweetest, gentlest creature on earth. He is now middle-aged/senior and has had some health concerns cropping up. I'm pretty obviously a high-anxiety dog parent, but Dr. Sabadish doesn't blink at patiently answering all of my questions and giving us her detailed thoughts, presented without sugarcoating, yet with compassion. She is obviously extremely smart and clearly truly loves animals, but the thing that stands out even more about Dr. Sabadish is how good she is with the people who love those animals. At this point, I would not trust my amazing dog to any other veterinarian. As for Hidden Valley in general, we have had nothing but easy, positive, friendly interactions with everyone there. We are really impressed.

Hidden Valley Animal Hospital provided my dogs the best care during our time here! When I moved to NC from CA, I was looking for a vet that was nearby and had at least 1 day of weekend availability (in case of those emergencies, you know!). I took my dogs here for a general checkup and both of the female vets I saw were great, but I give my utmost thanks to Rita Sabbadish who after meeting my shy boy Jake and going through his past medical records, sat with me and talked with me about all the possible diet changes that would improve his soft stool issues. I have never had a vet be that comprehensive for a general checkup!Later, I would bring Jake in for nail trimmings and Ruby in for vaccinations. And one day when she swallowed a whole pork bone (don't do that, Ruby!) she was brought in and received bloodwork and a host of other things. All times, service has been phenomenal and my pups were in and out quickly.I love that there are two doors--one for cats and one for dogs. And that everyone is scheduled so that you may only see 1 other person sitting in the sitting room if any. I have been very lucky and always came in with the sitting room to myself, which is much more calming for my nervous dogs. I highly recommend Hidden Valley Animal Hospital!

We've been going to Hidden Valley for several months. The Doctors and staff have been been extremely attentive, courteous & helpful. Our puppy swallowed a foreign object and I was able to get him seen immediately. Our older dog had GI issues and the Vet called to check on him on his day off. Hidden Valley truly feels like a place that knows their patients and not a place where you're treated as a number.

This has to be the worst animal hospital I've ever been to. The front office staff is very rude and unhelpful. I've had multiple times where the meds provided didn't have the proper instructions, they don't keep any of their information up to date. Even when trying to get Heartworm Medication, after being told my dog didn't need to be tested again they still refused to refill her prescription. I've spoken to the management several times about the staff and nothing has changed. We decided to take them to another animal hospital. Stay away from this place.

I can't say enough good things about Hidden Valley. The staff, from front office to techs to vets, is top-notch, taking the time to learn me and my multiple dogs by name. Dr. Sabadish is compassionate, caring, thorough, and takes all the time in the world to discuss my dogs' health issues. She calls on the phone and/or sends emails to follow up on issues that need additional discussion, like lab results and possible treatments. When I had to have a beloved dog euthanized a few months ago, I was left feeling sad, of course, but also as if I had been part of a somehow sacred experience. They have a dedicated room with soft lighting, floor pillows, treats galore, and the process is undertaken at exactly the speed that the client and pet need -- no sense of urgency, and infinite tenderness for both the pet and the owner. It was the BEST possible conclusion to his well-lived (and much-loved) life; I only wish people could be treated with this level of concern and love when the end of our lives approaches. I LOVE these folks, and I'm thankful every time we visit the office that I stumbled onto them through an online listing of vets in Raleigh when I moved here two years ago. Clearly, I give them the highest possible recommendation, and I'd urge anyone to give them a try.

This place is amazing. Very affordable and the vet was so thorough and caring. I had a few crazy dog lady questions but the vet took my concerns very seriously and explained away all my worries. Another vet had quoted me over $800 for a teeth cleaning and extractions but HVAH said that his teeth looked good and no teeth cleaning was necessary yet which shows me that they are truly concerned about what my dog's needs are and that they aren't just after the money. I will definitely be returning! Thank you for a great experience!

I have been very satisfied with my experience at Hidden Valley. Having worked at the front desk of an animal hospital myself, I am very picky about where I choose to take my cat. The main reason I initially chose Hidden Valley was that of the proximity to my apartment, and I choose to continue going there because I feel they really care about my cat's well-being, their services are affordable, and it is generally just a positive experience each time I visit. I would definitely recommend bringing your fur babies here!

When my dog needed an ultrasound, the staff gave up an appointment for their own pet so that mine could get the test she needed sooner. Things like that show how they really care about what they do.

We recently adopted a 8 year-old Shih Tzu who was in desperate need for a teeth cleaning! When I came to pick up my dog, received "before" and "after" pictures of my dogs teeth plus a chart that explained exactly what had to be done and the diagnosis in reference to her teeth. I received meds to take home and precise instructions on how and when to administer the meds to assure my dog was comfortable. The next day, Dr. Berry called me to check on our dog to make sure she was doing okay.We have been clients at this Animal Hospital for almost 30 years!

Very affordable prices. Our two dogs have seen many vets at this office and we are always pleased with the excellent service and thorough explanations. One of our dogs tends to eat things he shouldn't and we've had really good experiences with them not over-prescribing treatments but also handling things quickly when needed. Our senior dog has always been nervous at the vet - but will still take a treat when coming here! I also have to give a shout-out to the lovely staff who answer the phones and do checkin/checkout. They always answer my crazy dog-mom questions and provide exemplary customer service. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet in the area.

From the initial phone call I made to inquire about vet services, Sarah, who answered the phone was so patient with me and thoroughly answered all of my questions. Upon arrival I learned that this hospital, boarding, and grooming facility had a separate cat and dog section which I'm sure eliminates some of the anxiety most pets; especially cats, have when they're outside of their familiar element. I was greeted by Betty at the front desk and she made made my check in process seamless. Sarah soon greeted me and my cat Chloe in the waiting room within minutes and took us into a private room to weigh my cat and get to know her prior to the doctor coming in. Dr. V was so patient with my gentle giant 16.5 pound cat as she gave her an exam that my cat, Chloe, lied there patiently on the table and let Dr. V give here her shots and thoroughly exam her. Overall, I'm elated that I found a new vet for my cat being I am still new to NC. I'll continue to take my cat here for all future vet visits. They also have a grooming section so I'm looking forward to my cat's grooming appointment next week. My cat is back to her normal self and is feeling all purrrry and cuddly again. Thanks Betty, Sarah (or Sara), and Dr. V. You all were simply amazing!!!

We have taken our dogs to Hidden Valley Animal Hospital for 20 years. Yesterday, we loved our last dog to the rainbow bridge. Dr. Szabo and the staff are compassionate and dedicated to the animals in their care. The staff gave Piper chicken nuggets as a goodbye treat. This is the fourth time we have had to say goodbye to a beloved dog.. It is difficult but made so much easier by people who understand the pain and make an extremely difficult decision as loving and comfortable as possible. Our dogs always acted as if going to Hidden Valley was a trip to the spa. They always knew they were going to a place where they were loved and treated so well. I am so grateful to everyone. I cannot express how wonderful it has been to have the assurance that our buddies were so well cared for by such wonderful humans.

My boyfriend, English bulldog and I just moved to the area and were in search of a new vet. We decided to go to hidden valley based on all of the great reviews and are so glad we did. Our vet spent well over an hour with us for our dog's annual visit and was so knowledgeable and approachable. Afterwards, she even typed up 3 pages of personalized notes and sent them to me promptly so that I had a record of everything we discussed. This is the most thorough place I have ever been, and we will be clients for a long time!

Hidden Valley Animal Hospital is one amazing vet practice! We take our sweet German/shepherd Rottie, Shari, to see Dr. Riddle, and she can't get enough of the entire staff! This June she had to have a mast cell tumor removed from her leg and there aren't enough stars in yelp to describe our experience with the doctors there. Due to the location of her tumor, Shari tore her stitches a few times doing essential things like using the bathroom every day, and Dr. Riddle went out of her way to care for Shari every step of the way, from stitching her up every time she needed it, to squeezing in appointments to check on my sweet baby. We won't be taking Shari anywhere else because Dr. Riddle is a one of a kind amazing veterinarian! Even the ladies up front are so sweet. Joy was there almost every time we brought Shari in, and she is always so cheerful, compassionate, and helpful! We can't recommend this place enough!!!!! Thanks for taking such good care of my sweet baby, Hidden Valley!

After many years of wanting a pet but waiting for the right time, I picked up my sweet and sometimes crazy kitten this weekend. After researching vets in the area, I chose Hidden Valley based on all of the wonderful reviews. I called HV last Thursday to schedule her first visit, and was happily surprised to get a Monday morning appointment. As a first time pet owner, I was nervous about the first appointment and afraid I would be told I was doing everything wrong. Walking into the clinic, everyone was so nice and helpful. We only waited a couple minutes at the most before being brought back to the private room. Dr. Berry eased my fears and gave me great new kitten mommy tips. She helped me feel more confident and comfortable as a first time pet owner. You can tell how much Dr. Berry genuinely cares about animals. Little kitty didn't even notice when she got her first vaccine! Overall, it was a very quick, thorough, and pleasant visit.I never post reviews on Yelp, I mainly use it to read reviews, but I was so happy with my experience with HV that I wanted to share and recommend them to other new pet owners!

An absolutely wonderful animal hospital with great vets and a warm and caring staff! I'm moving to Minneapolis sometime in the next few weeks, and while I am excited about that, I'm very sad to be leaving Hidden Valley Animal Hospital behind.
The caring staff at Hidden Valley helped us through a very difficult time when we decided (after months of heart-wrenching deliberation) to put our 12 yr old Lab Charlotte to sleep, who was suffering terribly. They have provided great care for all of our pets and have talented groomers conveniently located directly below the office.
We have several Veterinarians closer to where we live in Independence, but have always chosen to drive a bit further to Hidden Valley. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Five stars!!!!

Minnie is always very comfortable at the clinic, and my fiancé and I really enjoy the staff - a clear indication of great company culture. I can't thank them enough for the role they've played in Minnie's life since we first brought her home. Friendly team, accomplished/experienced doctors, convenient service. Sidenote; I skimmed through the reviews written by the only person to give a less dignifying review for Hidden Valley.. this guy leaves miserable, scathing remarks for every place he reviews. It's frightening. Please do not pay any mind to the review he left for this establishment. Thank you!

We've been coming here for almost a year now, so I feel I can confidently rate them. Hvah is the nicest practice we've gone to. I initially contacted Dr. Szabo just before we picked up our puppy to get a general feel for their philosophy and practice, and everything he told me has been as we've experienced it. Right now we regularly see Dr. Amy, but we've also seen Dr. Berry and Dr. Carter. In general I've been very happy with how they treat our pets and us. I feel they treat me as an intelligent person and all the staff, doctors included, will talk with you instead of AT you. Everyone is very caring and gentle! Even my difficult cats have been handled with great care and concern for their stress levels and the puppy absolutely loves the staff. We're very happy to have chosen this practice and will continue to use them for the care of our four legged family.

We found this vet by the great reviews, and it was near where we lived. However, we have moved twice, further away. Yet, we continue to bring our 2 dogs to Hidden Valley. For all the wonderful reasons I mentioned above. We always recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic vet. They go above and beyond in caring for our pets, without racking up costs. We used Hidden Valley for 19 years and were very happy with them. Then we moved and I decided to try a vet closer to our new home. Our dog got sick and every time I took her to the new vet I never got to see the vet, only the vet techs. The new vet also nickeled and dimed us to death!! When it came time to make the decision whether to put our dog down or not I decided to go back to Hidden Valley. I'm SO glad I did!! Dr. V was so honest with us and understanding. She took time with us and we never felt rushed. In addition, the cost was very reasonable and didn't add to our grief. Thank you, Dr. V and everyone at Hidden Valley!! I'm coming home with my kitty! Y'all are worth the extra drive!!

In fact, he has often told us that expensive procedures were not needed. He has called on his own to ask how our dog was doing simply because he was so conscientious. In the past, other vets charged exorbitant fees for procedures that seemed unnecessary. Not the case with this excellent vet. You will be pleased.

I had such a great experience here. Their fees are much more reasonable than the previous vets I have seen in the area, and Dr. Amy Valenzisi took such wonderful care of my cat. The x-ray machine was down during my visit and I had to go to work. They offered to watch her until it came online and let me come pick her up later. Dr. Valenzisi also followed up with me after my visit to make sure my cat was responding well to medication. Can't say enough positive things - would highly recommend.

I posted a review a year ago, and I want to follow up. All of the vets at Hidden Valley provided compassionate, excellent care to our cat Felix throughout his life. I could not ask for a better group of doctors - they truly care about the animals and people in their care. Dr. Szabo, Dr. Valenzisi and Dr. Carter spent the most time with us, and they were wonderful throughout good and difficult times. We only saw Dr. Berry a couple times, but she was great too. The care was excellent. They referred us to the NC State Vet School when necessary, and coordinated care with them when he developed complex problems in his old age. This has been the best experience either of us have had with a veterinary practice. We strongly recommend them!

I am completely satisfied with the level of service my dog and I have received here. We have gone in for 1 yearly exam and shots, as well as anal gland expression every couple months. The staff are positive, courteous, and attentive. Making appointments has been a breeze. When we met with the doctor, she was genuinely invested in my dog's well-being and made us feel welcome and well cared for. We were given options and not forced into any decision. I've come across offices in the past that, in my opinion, over prescribe/medicate, but this office is not one of them. I believe they provide a realistic and smart approach to animal health care.The prices here for routine exams, shots, and anal gland expression are of the best I've found in the area, for a full service veterinary office. Since my dog needs the latter done quite frequently, it was important to me that they not charge for an office visit every time she gets then done. I don't know about pricing for procedures and other services, but the ones I have encountered are fair.One thing I had never come across at a vet office- the separate entrances for dogs and cats. This is unique and I think it works pretty well! They have little treats set out on the counter for a job-well-done bonus for your animal :) Hidden Valley Animal Hospital has found a long time customer here- I will continue to bring my dog to see them and recommend their services to all others.

Dr. Berry and the staff at Hidden Valley have been wonderful to me and my pups. They have helped us get through some really tough times, with the best possible healthcare, support and compassion. Everyone there is always so nice and most of them know me by name when I call. And, they always go above and beyond to do what they can to help when I happen to show up with another "stray" dog or cat - scanning them, helping me track down their owners, reaching out to the rescue community, etc. I highly recommend them and can't thank them enough for everything.

About our veterinarians:
Dr. Muri Szabo completed his undergraduate education in 1981 at Michigan State University. From there he attended the College of Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University, where he graduated with his DVM in 1985. He has been practicing veterinary medicine since that time. He moved to Raleigh in 1995 and began working at Hidden Valley in 2003. He is currently the lead veterinarian at Hidden Valley.
Dr. Amy Valenzisi received a bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lebanon Valley College in 1993 and a PhD in Plant Physiology from Penn State in 1999. She graduated from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. Dr. V became a part of the Hidden Valley Animal Hospital team in 2008.
Dr. Meredith Berry graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science in 2001. She received her DVM in 2005 from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Berry originally began working at Hidden Valley in 2000 as a veterinary assistant. When she graduated from vet school she began working at Quail Corners Animal Hospital before coming back over to Hidden Valley in January 2010.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Sabadish. I've had dogs, one after another, since childhood, and have interacted with many vets throughout my life, some great, some not so much. Dr. Sabadish really stands out.When my husband's beloved pug, Wally, was old and ailing, Dr. Sabadish provided thoughtful and compassionate care not just for the dog, but for my husband. She clearly wanted the best for his dog and for my husband. She considered cost concerns automatically, without being asked. When it was time to end Wally's pain, Dr. Sabadish was extremely calming and kind. I'm tearing up just thinking about it.We have one dog left who is the sweetest, gentlest creature on earth. He is now middle-aged/senior and has had some health concerns cropping up. I'm pretty obviously a high-anxiety dog parent, but Dr. Sabadish doesn't blink at patiently answering all of my questions and giving us her detailed thoughts, presented without sugarcoating, yet with compassion. She is obviously extremely smart and clearly truly loves animals, but the thing that stands out even more about Dr. Sabadish is how good she is with the people who love those animals. At this point, I would not trust my amazing dog to any other veterinarian. As for Hidden Valley in general, we have had nothing but easy, positive, friendly interactions with everyone there. We are really impressed.

Hidden Valley Animal Hospital provided my dogs the best care during our time here! When I moved to NC from CA, I was looking for a vet that was nearby and had at least 1 day of weekend availability (in case of those emergencies, you know!). I took my dogs here for a general checkup and both of the female vets I saw were great, but I give my utmost thanks to Rita Sabbadish who after meeting my shy boy Jake and going through his past medical records, sat with me and talked with me about all the possible diet changes that would improve his soft stool issues. I have never had a vet be that comprehensive for a general checkup!Later, I would bring Jake in for nail trimmings and Ruby in for vaccinations. And one day when she swallowed a whole pork bone (don't do that, Ruby!) she was brought in and received bloodwork and a host of other things. All times, service has been phenomenal and my pups were in and out quickly.I love that there are two doors--one for cats and one for dogs. And that everyone is scheduled so that you may only see 1 other person sitting in the sitting room if any. I have been very lucky and always came in with the sitting room to myself, which is much more calming for my nervous dogs. I highly recommend Hidden Valley Animal Hospital!

Our puppy swallowed a foreign object and I was able to get him seen immediately. Our older dog had GI issues and the Vet called to check on him on his day off. Hidden Valley truly feels like a place that knows their patients and not a place where you're treated as a number.

This has to be the worst animal hospital I've ever been to. The front office staff is very rude and unhelpful. I've had multiple times where the meds provided didn't have the proper instructions, they don't keep any of their information up to date. Even when trying to get Heartworm Medication, after being told my dog didn't need to be tested again they still refused to refill her prescription. I've spoken to the management several times about the staff and nothing has changed. We decided to take them to another animal hospital. Stay away from this place.

I can't say enough good things about Hidden Valley. The staff, from front office to techs to vets, is top-notch, taking the time to learn me and my multiple dogs by name. Dr. Sabadish is compassionate, caring, thorough, and takes all the time in the world to discuss my dogs' health issues. She calls on the phone and/or sends emails to follow up on issues that need additional discussion, like lab results and possible treatments. When I had to have a beloved dog euthanized a few months ago, I was left feeling sad, of course, but also as if I had been part of a somehow sacred experience. They have a dedicated room with soft lighting, floor pillows, treats galore, and the process is undertaken at exactly the speed that the client and pet need -- no sense of urgency, and infinite tenderness for both the pet and the owner. It was the BEST possible conclusion to his well-lived (and much-loved) life; I only wish people could be treated with this level of concern and love when the end of our lives approaches. I LOVE these folks, and I'm thankful every time we visit the office that I stumbled onto them through an online listing of vets in Raleigh when I moved here two years ago. Clearly, I give them the highest possible recommendation, and I'd urge anyone to give them a try.

This place is amazing. Very affordable and the vet was so thorough and caring. I had a few crazy dog lady questions but the vet took my concerns very seriously and explained away all my worries. Another vet had quoted me over $800 for a teeth cleaning and extractions but HVAH said that his teeth looked good and no teeth cleaning was necessary yet which shows me that they are truly concerned about what my dog's needs are and that they aren't just after the money. This has to be one of the best veterinarian office in the triangle. The staff is SO friendly and the doctors really make you feel like you and your fur babies are the most important people in the world. I can't say enough good things about this office but that won't stop me from trying. They also don't try to push unnecessary procedures on you.

Outstanding vet practice. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that goes way above what's expected. You can tell that your pet's health is their top priority. This is the best vet I've been to since moving to the Raleigh area, by far. The first time I contacted them was during an emergency. Rather than try to make money off me and have me come in for a visit, they referred me directly to a specialist. Other vets won't do that, they want the money. When my dog needed an ultrasound, the staff gave up an appointment for their own pet so that mine could get the test she needed sooner. Things like that show how they really care about what they do.

Outstanding vet practice. Friendly and knowledgeable staff that goes way above what's expected. You can tell that your pet's health is their top priority. This is the best vet I've been to since moving to the Raleigh area, by far. The first time I contacted them was during an emergency. Rather than try to make money off me and have me come in for a visit, they referred me directly to a specialist. Other vets won't do that, they want the money. Dr. Berry took great care of me and my dog Bella for most of Bella's life. Unfortunately Bella passed in Sept 2017, but even then Dr. Berry and the staff was extremely gracious and pleasant to deal with. It may be quite a while before I ever have another dog, but when and if I do, Dr. Berry will definitely be our vet. Great staff, super friendly and they take great care of your animals.

We recently adopted a 8 year-old Shih Tzu who was in desperate need for a teeth cleaning! When I came to pick up my dog, received "before" and "after" pictures of my dogs teeth plus a chart that explained exactly what had to be done and the diagnosis in reference to her teeth. I received meds to take home and precise instructions on how and when to administer the meds to assure my dog was comfortable. The next day, Dr. Berry called me to check on our dog to make sure she was doing okay.We have been clients at this Animal Hospital for almost 30 years!

Very affordable prices. Our two dogs have seen many vets at this office and we are always pleased with the excellent service and thorough explanations. One of our dogs tends to eat things he shouldn't and we've had really good experiences with them not over-prescribing treatments but also handling things quickly when needed. Our senior dog has always been nervous at the vet - but will still take a treat when coming here! I also have to give a shout-out to the lovely staff who answer the phones and do checkin/checkout. They always answer my crazy dog-mom questions and provide exemplary customer service. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a vet in the area.

The customer service at this hospital is REMARKABLE! From the initial phone call I made to inquire about vet services, Sarah, who answered the phone was so patient with me and thoroughly answered all of my questions. Upon arrival I learned that this hospital, boarding, and grooming facility had a separate cat and dog section which I'm sure eliminates some of the anxiety most pets; especially cats, have when they're outside of their familiar element. I was greeted by Betty at the front desk and she made made my check in process seamless. Sarah soon greeted me and my cat Chloe in the waiting room within minutes and took us into a private room to weigh my cat and get to know her prior to the doctor coming in. Dr. V was so patient with my gentle giant 16.5 pound cat as she gave her an exam that my cat, Chloe, lied there patiently on the table and let Dr. V give here her shots and thoroughly exam her. Overall, I'm elated that I found a new vet for my cat being I am still new to NC. I'll continue to take my cat here for all future vet visits. They also have a grooming section so I'm looking forward to my cat's grooming appointment next week. My cat is back to her normal self and is feeling all purrrry and cuddly again. The customer service at this hospital is REMARKABLE! From the initial phone call I made to inquire about vet services, Sarah, who answered the phone was so patient with me and thoroughly answered all of my questions. Upon arrival I learned that this hospital, boarding, and grooming facility had a separate cat and dog section which I'm sure eliminates some of the anxiety most pets; especially cats, have when they're outside of their familiar element. We have taken our dogs to Hidden Valley Animal Hospital for 20 years. Yesterday, we loved our last dog to the rainbow bridge. Dr. Szabo and the staff are compassionate and dedicated to the animals in their care. The staff gave Piper chicken nuggets as a goodbye treat. This is the fourth time we have had to say goodbye to a beloved dog.. It is difficult but made so much easier by people who understand the pain and make an extremely difficult decision as loving and comfortable as possible. Our dogs always acted as if going to Hidden Valley was a trip to the spa. They always knew they were going to a place where they were loved and treated so well. I am so grateful to everyone. I cannot express how wonderful it has been to have the assurance that our buddies were so well cared for by such wonderful humans.

My boyfriend, English bulldog and I just moved to the area and were in search of a new vet. We decided to go to hidden valley based on all of the great reviews and are so glad we did. Our vet spent well over an hour with us for our dog's annual visit and was so knowledgeable and approachable. Afterwards, she even typed up 3 pages of personalized notes and sent them to me promptly so that I had a record of everything we discussed. This is the most thorough place I have ever been, and we will be clients for a long time!

Hidden Valley Animal Hospital is one amazing vet practice! We take our sweet German/shepherd Rottie, Shari, to see Dr. Riddle, and she can't get enough of the entire staff! This June she had to have a mast cell tumor removed from her leg and there aren't enough stars in yelp to describe our experience with the doctors there. Due to the location of her tumor, Shari tore her stitches a few times doing essential things like using the bathroom every day, and Dr. Riddle went out of her way to care for Shari every step of the way, from stitching her up every time she needed it, to squeezing in appointments to check on my sweet baby. We won't be taking Shari anywhere else because Dr. Riddle is a one of a kind amazing veterinarian! Even the ladies up front are so sweet. Joy was there almost every time we brought Shari in, and she is always so cheerful, compassionate, and helpful! We can't recommend this place enough!!!!! Thanks for taking such good care of my sweet baby, Hidden Valley!

After many years of wanting a pet but waiting for the right time, I picked up my sweet and sometimes crazy kitten this weekend. After researching vets in the area, I chose Hidden Valley based on all of the wonderful reviews. I called HV last Thursday to schedule her first visit, and was happily surprised to get a Monday morning appointment. As a first time pet owner, I was nervous about the first appointment and afraid I would be told I was doing everything wrong. Walking into the clinic, everyone was so nice and helpful. We only waited a couple minutes at the most before being brought back to the private room. Dr. Berry eased my fears and gave me great new kitten mommy tips. She helped me feel more confident and comfortable as a first time pet owner. You can tell how much Dr. Berry genuinely cares about animals. Little kitty didn't even notice when she got her first vaccine! Overall, it was a very quick, thorough, and pleasant visit.I never post reviews on Yelp, I mainly use it to read reviews, but I was so happy with my experience with HV that I wanted to share and recommend them to other new pet owners!

An absolutely wonderful animal hospital with great vets and a warm and caring staff! I'm moving to Minneapolis sometime in the next few weeks, and while I am excited about that, I'm very sad to be leaving Hidden Valley Animal Hospital behind.
The caring staff at Hidden Valley helped us through a very difficult time when we decided (after months of heart-wrenching deliberation) to put our 12 yr old Lab Charlotte to sleep, who was suffering terribly. They have provided great care for all of our pets and have talented groomers conveniently located directly below the office.
We have several Veterinarians closer to where we live in Independence, but have always chosen to drive a bit further to Hidden Valley. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Five stars!!!!

Not only do they provide excellent medical services, the doctors love their patients as they would their own. Nothing gives me peace of mind like working with professionals who care as deeply as I do. Minnie is always very comfortable at the clinic, and my fiancé and I really enjoy the staff - a clear indication of great company culture. I can't thank them enough for the role they've played in Minnie's life since we first brought her home. Friendly team, accomplished/experienced doctors, convenient service. Not enough stars to reflect appropriately, so I guess 5 will do! :):):)
Sidenote; I skimmed through the reviews written by the only person to give a less dignifying review for Hidden Valley.. this guy leaves miserable, scathing remarks for every place he reviews. It's frightening. Please do not pay any mind to the review he left for this establishment. Thank you!

We've been coming here for almost a year now, so I feel I can confidently rate them. Hvah is the nicest practice we've gone to. I initially contacted Dr. Szabo just before we picked up our puppy to get a general feel for their philosophy and practice, and everything he told me has been as we've experienced it. Right now we regularly see Dr. Amy, but we've also seen Dr. Berry and Dr. Carter. In general I've been very happy with how they treat our pets and us. I feel they treat me as an intelligent person and all the staff, doctors included, will talk with you instead of AT you. Everyone is very caring and gentle! Even my difficult cats have been handled with great care and concern for their stress levels and the puppy absolutely loves the staff. We're very happy to have chosen this practice and will continue to use them for the care of our four legged family.

We found this vet by the great reviews, and it was near where we lived. However, we have moved twice, further away. Yet, we continue to bring our 2 dogs to Hidden Valley. For all the wonderful reasons I mentioned above. We always recommend them to anyone looking for a fantastic vet. They go above and beyond in caring for our pets, without racking up costs. Number one vet care, in our opinion!!! We are sincere in our review here!

We used Hidden Valley for 19 years and were very happy with them. Then we moved and I decided to try a vet closer to our new home. Our dog got sick and every time I took her to the new vet I never got to see the vet, only the vet techs. The new vet also nickeled and dimed us to death!! When it came time to make the decision whether to put our dog down or not I decided to go back to Hidden Valley. I'm SO glad I did!! Dr. V was so honest with us and understanding. She took time with us and we never felt rushed. In addition, the cost was very reasonable and didn't add to our grief. Thank you, Dr. V and everyone at Hidden Valley!! I'm coming home with my kitty! Y'all are worth the extra drive!!

They are friendly and nice. They know who you and your pet are when you walk through the door. All of the doctors are wonderful and try their hardest to help your pet any way they can. I never care which Doctor I get because I trust them all to care for my dogs.

We have used them for about 10 years and have been completely satisfied. Dr Szabo is very knowledgeable, patient, and I have never felt he was charging more than was appropriate. In fact, he has often told us that expensive procedures were not needed. He has called on his own to ask how our dog was doing simply because he was so conscientious. In the past, other vets charged exorbitant fees for procedures that seemed unnecessary. Not the case with this excellent vet. You will be pleased.

First time in being recommended to this hospital by our son. The savings over our previous vet was almost 60% for the same services and when you have 3 dogs, that adds up quickly. The front staff was great and whomever groomed our Cairins did a great job!! We'll be back
Follow Up 6/2016 WE continue to be thrilled with Hidden Valley. We have seen Dr. Carter the most, but all vets we have experienced have been terrific. My wife and I foster dogs for the Wake County Animal Center and always recommend Hidden Valley to our adopters!!

I had such a great experience here. Their fees are much more reasonable than the previous vets I have seen in the area, and Dr. Amy Valenzisi took such wonderful care of my cat. The x-ray machine was down during my visit and I had to go to work. They offered to watch her until it came online and let me come pick her up later. Dr. Valenzisi also followed up with me after my visit to make sure my cat was responding well to medication. Can't say enough positive things - would highly recommend.

I could not ask for a better group of doctors - they truly care about the animals and people in their care. Dr. Szabo, Dr. Valenzisi and Dr. Carter spent the most time with us, and they were wonderful throughout good and difficult times. We only saw Dr. Berry a couple times, but she was great too. The care was excellent. They referred us to the NC State Vet School when necessary, and coordinated care with them when he developed complex problems in his old age. This has been the best experience either of us have had with a veterinary practice. We strongly recommend them!

I am completely satisfied with the level of service my dog and I have received here. We have gone in for 1 yearly exam and shots, as well as anal gland expression every couple months. The staff are positive, courteous, and attentive. Making appointments has been a breeze. When we met with the doctor, she was genuinely invested in my dog's well-being and made us feel welcome and well cared for. We were given options and not forced into any decision. I've come across offices in the past that, in my opinion, over prescribe/medicate, but this office is not one of them. I believe they provide a realistic and smart approach to animal health care.The prices here for routine exams, shots, and anal gland expression are of the best I've found in the area, for a full service veterinary office. Since my dog needs the latter done quite frequently, it was important to me that they not charge for an office visit every time she gets then done. I don't know about pricing for procedures and other services, but the ones I have encountered are fair.One thing I had never come across at a vet office- the separate entrances for dogs and cats. This is unique and I think it works pretty well! They have little treats set out on the counter for a job-well-done bonus for your animal :) Hidden Valley Animal Hospital has found a long time customer here- I will continue to bring my dog to see them and recommend their services to all others.

It's one of the best animal hospitals I've ever seen. They were so nice and did everything to make my cat as comfortable as possible and have me all of the information I needed. Definitely a five star hospital. I will take my cat to this hospital every time I need something done.

Dr. Berry and the staff at Hidden Valley have been wonderful to me and my pups. They have helped us get through some really tough times, with the best possible healthcare, support and compassion. Everyone there is always so nice and most of them know me by name when I call. And, they always go above and beyond to do what they can to help when I happen to show up with another "stray" dog or cat - scanning them, helping me track down their owners, reaching out to the rescue community, etc. I highly recommend them and can't thank them enough for everything.
