This place is convenient because it's right down the road. We have boarded here before and the last two times were met with unexpected mysterious exams that needed to be done before we could board or right before pickup. The first incident occurred that our dog didn't have a recent rabies vaccine. We were assured that they didn't have one on file and when I told them the tag number they told me that she needed it again. They 3 yr tag stated 2014 which meant it would expire in 2017 but the Leesville convinced me that 2014 was when it actually expired. Then another tech said they were wrong and that it actually meant that was the year she was vaccinated but the 3 yr tag should've been 1 year because they gave her a 1 yr vaccine last year. So, LAH goes from no record on file, to a record on file, to the wrong tag/year and now they wanna give a 3 yr vaccine. Again, when questioned the excuse was well it's a new system. I'm not sure how the tag associates with computer system errors because the bet gave us the tag and the syringe was a 3 yr dose. Now here we are on our most recent encounter. Our dog is an older dog. Stays inside 99%of the time unless she's going for a walk or to potty. She has anxiety issues and doesn't like loud noises or to be away from her environment. She has diarrhea problems when she's outta her environment. It's an issue she's had forever even as a puppy. So we drop her off and head out for vacation. Two days before we come home they call and tell us she has diarrhea and want to do a fecal exam on her. Since she hadn't had one in a year and she has to have one before we board (again all of this AFTER she is in their care) and since we did t they HAD to do it. Whatever!!!! The results came back clear but still wanted to run MORE test to find out the issue. I assured them this was normal but they wanted to give her meds and do more test. The doctor finally calls and I told her me day of meds was fine but nothing else. The staff seems pleasant but I'm not sure if bored here again. There are better options and don't have all those so-called fees and test before you can board. Maybe in a pinch but that's pushing it. Read Less

I do really like this place, and so does my dog. I have dealt with Dr Amy and Dr Tull only. DUKE had a cancerous growth removed by Dr Tull last year. I cannot emphasize enough how kind and communicative he was during the entire process. I've always had a positive experience with all of the staff. The front desk people deserve a lot of credit for always being friendly and professional. Duke occasionally goes to their daycare and he absolutely LOVES it. When I board him I always include the daycare. The grooming services are just average, but really, for the dog's sake, I am happy when he is happy, and that counts for more than looking like a show dog. My dog and I just got home from the best vet experience we've ever had in her 7 years of life! Both dog and owner were a little nervous coming into the appointment, but we were both put at ease by the phenomenal vet tech Pam, who immediately got down on the floor with Brighton and showed her some genuine affection. Pam listened very carefully to all of my concerns and spent a lot of time giving me some good information about things to consider in the future. When Dr. Tull came in, he too, was immediately warm and friendly to Brighton. Boarded my dog again last week and when I picked her up she was in the same shape as December except she was missing a big patch of hair on her back. Now when I dropped her off, nothing was wrong. I took her in today and Dr. Pearce charged me another exam fee. I don't get it. I bring you a healthy dog but you return a sick dog and I have to pay for the exam. Not impressed. First time I brought my dog in to them, they encouraged me to get the heart worm prevention injection, which I agreed to and they never gave it to him! I only realized this 8 mos after the fact....the vet argued w/me that he was too young at the time to get it & I never subsequently asked for the shot at his later vet appts. I mistakenly depended on them to prompt me when things were due. Also, my dog recently got in an accident which required surgery on his leg...the vet said to bring him in 2-3 days later for a post-op check up. I had to explain to the receptionist exactly what they were supposed to be checking for (good thing I'm a nurse)...and the vet that did the surgery wasn't even in that day. The vet that did the check-up had no prior knowledge of my dog's plan of care and was nice, but seemed to be a little clueless as to why I was there as well.Bottom line is, poor continuity of care...not very good "bedside manner"...oh yeah, and they will try to tack on things that your dog doesn't need (i.e., liver/kidney lab tests during a surgical visit) and make you feel guilty for not getting them. Also, you would think that the post-op check-up would be included in the surgical cost...it's not. Read Less

Read Less
