Vca Durant Road Animal Hospital

Raleigh, North Carolina
General Info
VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital in Raleigh delivers pet care through a time-aware methodology that aligns services with pets' adjustments to light and temperature patterns as well as emotional rhythms earning trust from families throughout North Carolina. The clinic meticulously monitors entry posture together with sound sensitivity and pacing patterns alongside focal behavior. Medical examinations for animals follow their response cycles where vets inspect ears and teeth during curiosity phases while they perform abdominal checks and joint evaluations during calm periods. Pet owners receive inquiries regarding minute changes such as their pets' resting spots within the home their mealtime behaviors and any tendencies to spend more time near doors or soft surfaces. VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital executes diagnostic evaluations along with age-specific physical examinations and preventative health screenings while managing gastrointestinal stabilization and providing endocrine treatments combined with surgical preparation and postoperative reflection protocols. Depending on pet temperament and caregiver availability, appointments may be structured as full-service visits or divided into two shorter sessions. Medical staff determine task priority through pets' behavioral cues instead of checklists, adjusting to each animal's pace and touch tolerance. Families get detailed briefings that follow their pet’s daily patterns to understand time-bound symptoms along with post-stimulation behaviors and rebalancing signs. Medical follow-ups remain anchored in pet emotions through text check-ins pacing charts and adjustable timelines instead of relying solely on clinical benchmarks. VCA Durant Road Animal Hospital delivers animal healthcare to Raleigh families and North Carolina residents which matches pets' real home living patterns including their stretching and settling routines at various times of day.

Oh boy, where to begin. Perhaps with how many times these wonderful people have taken my dog mom craziness in stride, to gracefully dealing with me constantly making my lateness also their problem, or how about my usual angel of a dog turning into a complete demon when it comes to a nail trim. I’ve gone the full gambit with this daycare ranging from my dog going every single workday to once or twice a week. In all instances, these ladies (and gentleman) have taken wonderful care of my dog always checking on him or following up with a concern that I asked about at drop off. I can’t think of a better place to leave him during work knowing he is being taken care of just as well as he would be at home. Now that we are passed the sappy part let’s get down to the details. Anyone that has done any shopping around for a doggy care in the Raleigh area is aware of how expensive it is from a top end of $30.00 per day to about $23.00ish before any pass purchases. As mentioned before I bring my dog (Dexter) quite a bit so I purchase a large pass which brings the price down to 15.00 per day, which is amazing! I have toured the daycare twice and in both instances, I am still thrilled with how everything is arranged. No small home crates here, large kennels floor to ceiling so your dog has enough room to stretch out during nap time and get comfortable, not having to worry about them breaking out if they are an escape artists. The best part in the Raleigh area in particular is the multiple large outdoor areas, not something you see all the time. As I have a bird happy dog it was very important for me that he was not kept inside all day every day at daycare and at home. Here at his second home he can enjoy being outside with the birds or be inside when he just wants to play. I love them, Dexter loves them, and if you bring your dog I believe they will love it here too. Read Less

The one star is for having a working phone, which amounts to the only thing that appears to work at this office. Our experience was mostly fraught with terrible customer service, poor listening skills, and perhaps an ingrained lack of compassion for a litter of kittens. Either I was hoping to schedule via phone or in person a consultation on how to care for a litter of kittens we found abandoned. We€ve been caring for 3 newborn kittens for 3 days using YouTube / the web due to the fact that many vets don€t operate on weekends. I left a message with reception to talk to the only vet tech on staff who specializes in kittens on Monday when the offices opened, but it was not returned. It culminated with yet another call to talk to the only employee trained to discuss kittens (the aforementioned tech), but I never got that far: I was told they don€t have room to care for them. Even though in my message and previous phone calls with reception I made it clear we are keeping and caring for them: we just needed consultation, mostly regarding nutrition and shots. It was like talking to a petri dish full of amoebas. I€m glad others who have posted here have had a better experience. I hope we were just an outlier. Read Less

Everyone here was very nice but the quote I got to have my dogs tooth removed was ridiculous. It included pre opp blood work, anesthesia, dental cleaning, tooth removal, packing of the tooth and updated on "necessary" vaccinations/tests. I even double asked if they were all necessary and they said yes, otherwise they couldn't perform the procedure. All of this for about $1100. Yes you read that right. Because of another review here talking about how they charged unnecessarily I decided to get the antibiotics and pain meds ($100) and began to call around for quotes. Not only did I find out 3 of the vaccinations/tests were up to the owner and in no way required by law or necessarily even recommended ($150-200 worth) but that everyone else pretty much has a set price for dental procedures (extractions are extra) verses here where they charge for every single thing. Now I have have an appointment to get my dogs a dental cleaning under anesthesia (includes everything) with pre opp blood work, dental extraction, nail clipping, updated rabies vaccination AND a neuter for about $600. About half of the cost. I understand running a business but really? Charging literally 100% more than other clinics. And I called 6.Read Less

This is an awesome vet that does awesome vet care. I have been to many vets with my pets over the years and this one provides exceptional service. My dog fights me like an alligator every time I attempt to trim her nails but Lorraine was able to to it with no problem and while lavishing lots of love on her. They were also super kind and sensitive when we had to deal with difficult things such as losing our previous pets. I see Dr. Musgrave typically (although I have seen the other vets as well and they are great) and have found that she is a caring and experienced doctor. Fun fact: Vets don't typically do this for the money...they do this because they love animals and want to give them the best care possible down to every detail, even when that means remembering about a vaccine reaction my dog had (I had forgotten) and as a result premeding appropriately. Dr. Musgrave is a stellar example of someone who is doing their job just because of the love of it....she could probably do other things but she does this because she cares and the pets she sees are better off for it. Everyone there is phenomenal....from the time you walk in to the time you leave...I'm giving five stars only because it won't let me go up any higher. Read Less
