Everyone is friendly, caring, considerate and will go well beyond the extra mile to provide the best care for your pet that they can. I have been taking my dog here for almost two years and have enjoyed the place. The staff are always extremely courteous and service is always prompt. They always seem to be on top of appointment times and I'm not sitting out in the lobby for minutes past my appointment time. The place stays pretty clean for a vet clinic. They are always great with my dog and have done a great job in taking care of her. I love this vet. My mom has been coming here since we fostered kittens. We originally were at a different vet and were blown away by the service and cleanliness of the Rolesville Vet. All of the technicians and doctors are so friendly, and they don't push extra services/medications on you like other vets do. I have been a patient (my two beagles) of Rolesville Vet (Dr. Baker) for 1.5 years.  Dr. Baker is incredible.  The last time I visited with my beagle she spent one hour examining, listening and discussing a plan of care.  She is so compassionate and caring.  The staff is always considerate, personable and professional.  The Rolesville location and Louisburg location are SO CLEAN AND FRESH.  There is NEVER an odor.  Everybody, staff and patients, seem very happy to be there.  I can't say enough about Dr. Baker. I could live for another 100 years and I don't think I would EVER find another vet as good as Dr. Jennifer Hummel at Rolesville Veterinary Hospital in Rolesville NC.  We lived in the area for about 4 years and Dr. Hummel treated our pets, Scarlett, Suki, and Trixie as if they were her own.  She knew us, and our pets by name, she talked to the pets, petted them to make them feel comfortable, and gave them the best care a pet owner could ask for.  She ALWAYS spent time with us explaining things, giving us various options, always followed up with us to check on our pets and even gave us a phone number where we could reach her directly if we ever had concerns. She would call us hours after Vet closed to check on our pets so you know she was always thinking about the animals. You can see a TRUE animal lover in Dr. Hummel, it is not about the money but about the love of animals, and a genuine love of her work.  Every DVM should strive to be the kind of vet Dr. Hummel is.  The only problem with Dr. Hummel is that she didn't follow us when we moved. I have taken my two pets here for several years, a senior and a formally-abused rescue. My 16 year old senior was having some issues that Dr. H simply was not able to identify, unless I paid $800 for a test. My poor girl was miserable during all this time! I finally took her to another vet, who immediately knew what the problem was and helped me to correct it. Unfortunately, during this visit, it was also discovered that my girl has a tumor and it has been growing for some time, which went undetected by Rolesville Vet. Rolesvilles hours are not friendly, they close down in the middle of the day, the hours that are most convenient for many of us. I was also hung up on by a member of their management team, very unprofessional and uncaring. My experience was poor and it is my opinion that the Rolesville team is more interested in their profit than the living animals that are brought to them. I now have a vet in Wake Forest that has friendly hours, their cost is friendlier, and I feel that they truly care about my pets! I was hoping for a place with a little better customer service, and was overwhelmed by just how much more we liked Rolesville Vet. We’re so grateful we made the switch. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. It was clear from the moment we stepped in the door that they genuinely care about the health of their patients. We came in with incomplete records on our puppy who was rescued and had since been to two different veterinary hospital in different states. They wanted to be thorough so they made calls to all of the other hospitals to collect the complete records and make sure that our puppy was up-to-date on all of her vaccines. Their prices were very reasonable. I also loved that they have an online system to store all of your pet's medical records and allow you to schedule your next appointment at a click of button. When I requested a prescription for flea, tick and heart-worm meds or emailed a question prior to our appointment, they responded almost instantaneously with a prescription or helpful reply. It is so nice to have found a veterinary hospital filled with people who are passionate about what they do and care about their patients. Great people, great facility. Reasonable costs, a lot less than our last vet (in NY). The doctor we saw was very nice, patient, and took the time to give a thorough exam to both my dogs. Be careful of the "extras" that the doctor suggests-- if you have no underlying concerns you probably don't need all of the extras at the same time... Read Less

Just moved to the area a few months ago and had to change everything from dentist to groomer to hairdresser and now veterinarian. My old veterinarian was awesome. Doggies loved her so I was pretty sure that replacement was going to be hard. Called on a Tuesday and they got me in the same week. They were very accommodating to my schedule for appointments. Front staff was super friendly upon initial greeting. That was downfall of last vet as front staff wasn't very personable but the vet and assistants were so that didn't deter me. The assistant Gabby was a delight. Was so personable and helpful with my fur babies. Dr Sawyer was friendly, very helpful and took the time to explain treatment, causes and preventative measures. They operated on a friend dog today, he was brought back twice during surgery and then left alone after they told owner he probably wouldn't Last thru the night, what kind of dr leaves a patient alone after that. The entire staff from the front desk, the Techs and Doctors go above and beyond to not only provide excellent care for my fur babies but they show genuine concern, compassion and love not only to the animals but to the pet owners as well. One of my babies was recently hospitalized, I was constantly updated on his condition, I was allowed to visit and spend as much time as I wanted and if I had any questioned they were answered immediately. I am a community cat caregiver and if it were not for RVH, Dr. Hummel and the staff here I could not do what I do. They are always with me in good times and bad. I don't often sit down to write reviews, but due to the level of service and care I really felt like I needed to in this case. While my family was between houses our dog was staying with another family and while there she somehow managed to fracture her leg. After having her back for a few days she managed to peel back the wrapping around the splint, revealing a spot on her leg that needed immediate attention. I called our normal vet and they said they couldn't see her until the next day, and only between other appointments. This wasn't going to work. We're new to the Rolesville area so I started to Google for vets and found the near 5 star rating for Rolesville Veterinary Hospital. I gave them a call and they asked if I could be there in 15 minutes. Yes, yes I can. The entire staff was absolutely fantastic when we showed up. They have made a few follow up phone calls as well to make sure everything is going well. Follow up visits have been just as good as the initial visit. We're definitely switching our primary vet to Rolesville Vet Hospital. EDIT. The splint finally came off of our dog and she has been doing very well. I just want to say a big THANK YOU to Dr. Baker. I have nothing but good things to say about this place. The staff is obviously very passionate about animals and they appear to care more about your pets well-being than making money unlike so many other veterinarians. My wife and I have been taking our dog and cats here for over a year and we have been impressed each time. The front desk staff, vet techs, and doctors are all great. Dr Baker and vet tech Janine (sp?) were very gentle with our big cat and were excellent at providing information without pushing any services on you. Recently, they have added signs to split up the waiting area for cats and dogs. They have also added side tables on the cat side that say "place cat carrier here". This is great as having your cat at eye level instead of sitting on the floor really puts them at ease. Before they made these changes, this would have been my only complaint, but they were thoughtful enough to consider the needs for both cats and dogs. Thanks and keep up the good work. Read Less

I don't do Google reviews often, although I should because they're so helpful, but I felt compelled to leave a review about the service I received from Rolesville Veterinary Hospital. I had a sick chick and I wanted to have a fecal done. I would have had to take the chick to the exotic and avian vet in Raleigh, a 45 minute drive for me, but I heard about Rolesville Vet seeing chickens so decided to give them a try. The charge for the fecal was what I had expected, not over pricey, and the office appeared clean. There was an error with the sample because the lab did a culture and not a parasite check and this delayed the results of the test. Dr. Baker called me after hours to apologize about the lab's confusion and spoke with me about my chick for 26 minutes (I checked). She assured me should would continue to check the status of the test and let me know as soon as it came in. True to her word, Dr. Baker called me at 9:30 the next morning on her day off to give me the results and speak with me about the findings. I was thoroughly impressed with her compassion and care. THIS is what I've been looking for in a vet. I was not rushed, talked over, ignored, put off, forgotten about etc. I am extremely pleased in Rolesville Veterinary Hospital and definitely recommend them!! Read Less

I run a companion parrot rescue near Youngsville (Marden's Ark). We typically take the birds to Avian & Exotic in Raleigh as they were recommended as avian vets prior to moving to the Raleigh area with our own birds. But Friday they were completely booked. Working an appointment in adds an "emergency visit" charge and since our vet bills have already skyrocketed to a very unplanned high this year, I decided to try and save the emergency fee and see if Rolesville Veterinary Hospital could get me in for a minor issue. I called and they were extremely helpful over the phone. They booked me an appointment within a couple hours. I arrived (running late as I got behind a school bus!) and was taken right to a room. It was a very short wait time. The doctor, Dr. Hummel,  was very nice, very gentle and thorough with the little patient (a cockatiel).The fecals go out to the lab as they don't do them in house (if you have birds you will understand the importants of a fecal gram stain). Dr. Hummel was forthright about admitting that she only covers basic care and for anything advanced she refers to Avian & Exotic or NC State. Unfortunately, as a rescue we have several birds with special needs or disease conditions that require advanced care. For this reason we will continue to stay with Avian & Exotic as they are specialists, they do much of their own testing and can have results in minutes, however we will definitely be bringing birds to Rolesville as our back-up vet, as I was very pleased with Dr. Hummel's care given to our little Clyde. They even called this morning for follow-up to see how she (Clyde is a female) is doing. We will definitely be visiting them again as the need arises. Read Less

This place is Awesome!  I have had multiple issues the past few weeks with my 10 month old German Shepherd and this Vet has been "FANTASTIC".  My dog managed to jump out of the back of my truck going 55MPH going down the road. I managed to scoop her up and rush her to Rolesville Veterinary and at 8:00 AM the girls at the front and the girls in the back immediately dropped what they were doing as soon as they found out what happened to come lend a hand.  They took her back right away to check her over and make sure everything was ok and they only charged me $34.00 when it was all said and done.  They were a huge help and I greatly appreciate all of them.  I have to keep an eye on her until later this afternoon as her adrenaline was still pumping while she was there but all is well so far with only a few minor scrapes and bruises!  Thanks again! I have two dogs that can be - well - difficult to manage. They tend to shy away from other adults and can bark at other dogs. With that in mind, we've been very careful about how to select our veterinary and are absolutely thankful we found the vets at Rolesville Veterinary Hospital. On my dogs' first visit, Dr. Hummel spent time getting to know them. Rubbing them, chatting with them, and putting them at ease. Within minutes, they were actually wagging their tails! Throughout their vaccinations and examinations, I felt like she answered all of my (potentially paranoid) questions with grace and gave us plenty of time and attention. She never made me feel like I was crazy, wasting time, or asking too many questions. When disasters have happened - one of our dogs has a weak stomach - she has talked us through the diagnosis and treatment and followed up to be sure the dogs are feeling better. As we panicked, she calmly explained what would we could expect and what symptoms should signal a phone call or visit back to the office. I brought my 7 month old wire fox terrier in with an injury to her right leg.  I told Dr. Hummel what happened and that the dog screamed when it happened and she was limping.  After a thorough exam and a few x-rays later I was told her leg was not broken, but her hip was possibly defective...given quite a large bill and some metacam.  She said exercise would be good. 3 weeks later after taking the dog to be groomed I noticed that the dog's leg was bent turning out.  I took her back to the hospital and asked SPECIFICALLY them to review the x-rays and make sure there was no fracture.  I had Dr. Vanderclok look at them this time.  At no point in time did the vets EVER show me my dog's x-ray which I thought was odd.  They said it was not broken, told me it could be genetic gave me another bill and gave me a referral to a VERY expensive ortho hospital.  My dog is AKC has and zero history of genetic limb deformities in he blood lines.  I have some limited experience with growth plate fractures from my kids...and I suspected that the dog might have had a growth plate fracture.  There was a 4 week wait for an appointment at the Ortho Clinic I made an appointment but really didn't want to wait that long.  I decided to get a second opinion from Dr. Darch over at North Wake Animal Hospital.  He looked at the dog's leg, felt it, and said it was probably a growth plate fracture and asked me if I wanted an x-ray.  I did, he took it and then brought the x-ray into the exam room and showed me the fracture and that it was healing improperly because it was not set right away. Fast Forward....I called Dr. Hummel and told her she misdiagnosed my dog and now the dog may have a permanent limb deformity. I made an appointment at her request to go in and look at the original x-ray she took with her so she confirm she missed the fracture.  She said she was sorry she didn't show it to me before.  I went in at my scheduled appointment time only to be left in an exam room with my dog for 45 minutes.  Dr. Hummel never came in, nor was I ever shown the original x-ray.  Total appointment time for absolutely nothing 1 hour and 20 minutes. (no charge)I asked for a refund of my money from the original visit and misdiagnosis which I thought was reasonable since due to her negligence I had to pay twice for the same injury to my dog. In all likelihood the dog may require expensive ortho surgery when she is full grown and perhaps get arthritis in that joint.  She said she would take care of it. It has been 4 months now and she has not given me back my money, or responded to my email.  If you care about your pet, and think the pet is injured GO SOMEWHERE ELSE !!!  These vets not only misdiagnosed my dog, but double confirmed the misdiagnosis and gave me advice that HURT MY DOG AND PERMANENTLY DISFIGURED HER.  It's all about the money at this practice, not about the dogs.  RUN, don't walk away from this place !!!  There are too many great Vets in the area...don't risk your pet's life and limb with these people. I showed up on time for my appointment and waited in the lobby for 30mins while the girls behind the counter discussed what cheesecake to order for lunch.Finally got into a room, had to repeat everything to the nurse I filled out on the forms in the lobby. Waited for another 10mins for doc, 5min doctors visit, doc left and I waited 10mins again, doc came in for 10seconds to hand me a bill and then left, waited for 10 more mins, then finally came in the room with the overpriced pet meds.All-in-all, decent place, decent service, wait time is ridiculous.
