Make sure you get an itemized bill BEFORE dropping your pet off or you'll see surprise charges on your bill. I had been using Meyers for a while. Last month I called to schedule an appointment for my dog to have a bath and a distemper vaccine. The receptionist on the phone told me she had me down for the distemper vaccine. I asked about the bath and she said she didn't put that into the computer. A few days later I received a call for me to confirm a health examination. I told the caller I didn't need an exam, just a bath and distemper shot. She told me neither had been put into the computer. When I dropped my dog off, the receptionist asked if I was dropping my dog off for a health exam. I told her no, he was there only for a bath and distemper shot. She talked me into an upper respiratory vaccine and lyme disease vaccine (when I asked the cost of the lyme disease vaccine I was told it would be $36 today) When I went to pick up my dog, I was told I needed to schedule an appointment in 2 weeks for a lyme booster, which would require more than the $36 I was told was the price. I asked why I wasn't told this when I dropped my dog off as I am a college student who lives 2 hours away. The receptionist replied. "I said it would be $36 TODAY." When I received my bill, I had also been charged an additional $42.71 for a health exam. When I told them I didn't ask for an exam, I was told he had to have it. When I told them I didn't like the fact I wasn't informed of the mandatory exam, I was told I should have asked to begin with. I told them I shouldn't have to ask and they replied with you should have asked how much your bill was going to be. Again, I said I shouldn't have to ask, I should be told about a mandatory appointment. Then I was told, well, the new girl must have talked to you on the phone. This whole time the lady I talked to on the phone and in office was cowering in the alcove of the receptionists desk not saying a word. The only vet I will go to. The doc actually listens to you and the staff takes their time with you and explains things, yet when you go you're not gonna be there all day. They get you in and out with all your concerns addressed. Read Less

I have been dealing with Dr. Myres and his amazing staff for over 10 years with my personal dogs as well as my foster dogs and I cannot say enough good things about them. Had been using Dr Myres for several years when we had an emergency come up with our dog. They wanted the entire fee for treatment up front without willing to wait until banks opened the next day. Even offering to make a trip home for the money (about 20 min round trip), they were unyielding! After further investigation and consultation with another vet, we believe that our pet was misdiagnosed.. After paying ENORMOUS fees for "critical care treatment"; our dog was left to die unattended in a kennel cage. While we understand many vets do not keep staff in their hospital 24/7, we felt that we should have been told that no one would be there to provide this "critical care". Furthermore, instead of any compassion; we were returned our beloved pet in a plastic garbage bag. Never, ever again. Read Less

I wish I could give them 10 stars but it won't allow me. This place is absolutely wonderful from  staff at the front desk all the way to Dr. Myers! They took such good care of out dog  after we found out she had mammary cancer.  They got her in right away and kept her overnight at no charge to do surgery the next morning. The tech called me as she was prepped for surgery and then once surgery was over to let me know everything went well and she was doing fine. We went and picked her up the same day. She is now healed and has had her stitches removed. She is back to her normal self, a big thank you to the staff at Myers for all your kindness and help with our baby! Read Less

We really love this animal hospital. We have a 6 month old Rottweiler and we have taken her here since we got her. The staff is really friendly and the Vet calls us at home to make sure Chevelle is doing well. They use new technology (laser spaying) and they provide her with everything she needs to be a happy and healthy dog, including her first dose of heart worm medication and healthy treats. The service is always speedy and they are quick to clean up her pee pee when she gets too excited! They also made recommendations for pet boarding places for us and we were very pleased. Read Less

Dr. Myres and his staff are awesome! I take my animals there and will contine to forever. They work with animals because they care about giving your furkids the best medical treatment possible. The staff calls you to check on your animals after the vet if there is any problem. Dr. Myres has called me morning and night during a recent serious illness of one of our babies. Cost is very responsible and care is outstanding. It is worth the drive from the Raleigh area to take your pets to Myres Animal Hospital. It took me four years to find a vet I was comfortable with, and it was worth the wait!! My animals are my children and I would not take them just anywhere. This is the best vet staff I have ever met.
