Very disappointed!! I was a client for a long time and once the practice was sold I had problems.
First we had an emergency C-section which I was present to assist.
Instead of clamping and cutting the umbilical cords, the Veterinarian ripped them causing 2 of my puppies guts to fall out , one died immediately and one was euthanized by a girl that worked there with a shot in the heart which I do not think is legal to be done by staff. They did not have a sufficient supply of hemostats available.
I was upset but I figured this was the first C-section this veterinarian has ever done. I addressed my concerns and at the next c-section this did not happen again. Again, 2 puppies lost their life's due to lack of knowledge. I moved on.
I took puppies in for their health certificates to travel. I do remember the vet saying that one of the puppies had a very innocent slight murmur. She told me not to be concerned and the puppy would grow out of it. this puppy arrived in Oregon and my customer took the puppy to their veterinarian, and he was diagnosed with a grade 5 heart murmur that needed immediate surgery. I contacted stokesdale veterinary Hospital and no one there was able to find any medical records or any notes of a heart murmur. I called back a second time and no one was able to find any records. there is absolutely no way a grade one innocent puppy heart murmur can turn into a grade 5 in this short of time. However I was told that this would be turned over to the insurance company to help my customer cover the cost of the expensive surgery. I've never spoke to the insurance company but just received a letter which is full of lies. The insurance company stated that the heart murmur was diagnosed and that I was talked to and made aware of what needs to be done with this puppy. That is a complete lie and they never had any medical records or any notes in their system. I do remember her saying that one of the puppies had a very slight innocent murmur. She never pointed out which puppy and that was the whole conversation. I was told by the owner that we will figure this out together. Only to find out that they will not do anything about it.

I took my 10 year old "puppy" there on a Saturday morning because my vet was unexpectedly closed. Wasn't sure if there might be a UTI and didn't want to wait until Monday or go to our Animal Hospital ...
I took my 10 year old "puppy" there on a Saturday morning because my vet was unexpectedly closed. Wasn't sure if there might be a UTI and didn't want to wait until Monday or go to our Animal Hospital which is $80 just to walk in the door. The vet checked him out thoroughly and decided to treat him with antibiotics for the UTI. One shot and a whole lot of love later we were out the door and on our way to recovery. Two days later it was obvious my "best friend" was feeling himself once again. I would definitely return there if the situation ever arises again. My gratitude to all those who treated my "little Jakie".

I will not take my baby BACK THERE until I HEAR it's gotten better veterans. This is my opinion!!!! (My BABY GIRL past that DAY)we had HER cremated they JUST put ashes in a paper box. When we get another animal it will NOT go there. Food for thought a friend rescue DOG passed SHE also had HERS done the same as we did IT'S unreal the difference in THIS HER Baby was put in a pine BOX with HIS Paw print with HIS Name @ how old he was. I COMMEND HER veterans for taking THAT extra mile AND the price was about the same. Just saying ur BEST ADVERTISING IS BY WORD OF MOUTH. MY FRIEND TRIED TOO GET ME TO TAKE MY BABY GRIL TO HER VETERANS NOW I WISHED I DID.

These doctors and their staff treat your pets as they were their own.I would not take our pets to any other place for any reason. The hours of operation 7 days a week is also a plus.

I love this place! They care about animals and know they're more than just an animal - they're family! The only issue I've ever had is miscommunication about accepting breeder shots for a puppy. So make sure you only buy from good breeders that give you lots of information so your puppy isn't given more shots than it needs (which can lead to illness in puppies up to a certain age, depending on which shot it is and how close together they were given the shots).

The job performed was acceptable, but we waited with our terrified cat in a small unventilated room for over 30 minutes before we were seen. The vet tech and assistant did not heed our wishes and take care to better restrain our cat while they performed necessary things on him, and as a result my wife was bitten pretty badly. If you have to get something done and you can’t be bothered to take your pet to a more professional practice, then take precautions to ensure your pet’a comfort during the unfamiliar and scary experience that is “going to the vet.”
Their clinic cat is very pretty, affectionate, sweet, and chill though. Swing by to pet it if you get the chance. He’s a rad dude.

We needed a vet that would come to us due to some difficult circumstances with our dog. The receptionist was wonderful when I called and made me feel welcome and my dog cared about from just that initial conversation. She set up a farm call visit within 2 days with Dr. Wesley. When she came out I was so impressed with her compassion and patience with our very reluctant patient....she did all that she could to keep him calm and examine him without making him feel threatened. We were able to get an exam, bloodwork and all shots without incident and I was thrilled no end! She even taught this owner a few things about non-verbal communication with her dog :-) I thought Dr. Wesley was professional, courteous, compassionate, caring and generally everything one would look for in good vet for their pets. I also visited the office for the first time a few days later to pick up the rabies tag and meds, and Serena at the front desk was delightfully sweet and professional as well. I discovered that they do all they can to keep costs for care and meds as reasonable as they can to enable people to care properly for their animals. One such example is a liquid heartworm medicine that they actually make there at the clinic and sell for a much lower cost than the HeartGuard. So if you are looking for a vet "home", I assure that you absolutely will not go wrong if you decide to bring your family pets to this wonderful practice!!

Dr. Wesely was very kind and knowledgeable. She was very quick in diagnosing our puppy's problem and knew exactly what to do. Our puppy, Tiger, was very happy with the visit, too. :)

Stokesdale Veterinary Hospital located in Stokesdale, NC has a professional dedicated staff willing to go that extra mile to ensure you and your pet receive excellent service and care. I would recommend this practice to anyone wishing the best care for their pet. Dr. Oglesby explains every procedure and answers questions in a comprehensive understandable way. All options are explained and cost is taken into consideration, as well as pet quality of life.
I have allergies and asthma and they allow me to drop my pet at the clinic and the veterinarian will sit outside and talk about the actual visit. They do not keep me waiting and cause an allergic flare up. They also have a great grooming service with competitive pricing and the groomer will call if they have questions or concerns before they do anything.
I feel when I leave my pet there, she is getting the best care possible. I give them 5 stars.

I've been using Stokesdale Vet Hospital for 13 years for my dogs, cats, and horses, and I can't say enough good things about them! Dr. Oglesby and his wife Janette are extremely experienced and their first concern is for the care of the animal. They'll go above and beyond the call of duty if necessary, and if their hospital isn't suited for the animal's necessary treatment they'll direct you to the appropriate alternative. I've never been disappointed with their services, and neither have my animals!

My dog had mange, got a bath, two medicines, ointment and it cost $340...it would have been about $160 or half that at several others I got price quotes from 4 others using my bill from him. Nice guy, probably knows vet medicine, bad business man.. but DEFINITELY the Very Last time I go there.

A few days ago we took our 1yr old cat to stokesdale vet to get neutered. They did an excellent job! They also had told me that they had to run so test just to make sure he was healthy, and the test came back and showed that he had 2 different types of worms. Without them running this minor test we would have never known and we would have lost our little zipper because we had no idea. The test my be a little on the costly side but its worth it. over all we spend a little over $300 and now he is doing great. I would recommend this vet to anyone in the stokesdale area, i may even switch my dog from summerfield to stokesdale vet.

I have a puppy boxer shes 7 monthes old I brought her to Stokesdale vet to get spade at around 8:15am the other day. I was called by the vet that afternoon and told she did great in the surgery and woke up and is doing good. I was told to pick her up in the late evening. I picked her up around 5 PM. When I got there she looked very sore, I assumed that was how she was suppose to feel. The whole night she layed around crying in her cage. The vet had told me not to feed or give her water until the next morning. Around 10pm she starts getting sick in her cage she did this 3 times it was all foam looking. The next morning I woke up and gave her some food and her medication she got sick again. I called the vet and told them what was happening, I'm put on hold and then the lady comes back to tell me my dog had trouble waking up from surgery so they gave her an injection of something, I was never told exactly what that was, but this would cause her to get sick. When I was called by the vet the afternoon before I was lied to and told my dog was fine, really they had most likely overdosed her and that was why she couldn't wake up. I would not reccomend this vet office. You are lied to and not treated well when you confront them about situations they can't help you.

Dr. Wesely was very kind and knowledgeable. She was very quick in diagnosing our puppy's problem and knew exactly what to do. Our puppy, Tiger, was very happy with the visit, too. :)

Stokesdale Veterinary Hospital located in Stokesdale, NC has a professional dedicated staff willing to go that extra mile to ensure you and your pet receive excellent service and care. I would recommend this practice to anyone wishing the best care for their pet. Dr. Oglesby explains every procedure and answers questions in a comprehensive understandable way. All options are explained and cost is taken into consideration, as well as pet quality of life.
I have allergies and asthma and they allow me to drop my pet at the clinic and the veterinarian will sit outside and talk about the actual visit. They do not keep me waiting and cause an allergic flare up. They also have a great grooming service with competitive pricing and the groomer will call if they have questions or concerns before they do anything.
I feel when I leave my pet there, she is getting the best care possible. I give them 5 stars.

I've been using Stokesdale Vet Hospital for 13 years for my dogs, cats, and horses, and I can't say enough good things about them! Dr. Oglesby and his wife Janette are extremely experienced and their first concern is for the care of the animal. They'll go above and beyond the call of duty if necessary, and if their hospital isn't suited for the animal's necessary treatment they'll direct you to the appropriate alternative. I've never been disappointed with their services, and neither have my animals!

OVERCHARGES & Multiple charges for similar items. This vet charged me litterily double of normal charges as compared to other area vets. My dog had mange, got a bath, two medicines, ointment and it cost $340...it would have been about $160 or half that at several others I got price quotes from 4 others using my bill from him. Nice guy, probably knows vet medicine, bad business man.. but DEFINITELY the Very Last time I go there.

A few days ago we took our 1yr old cat to stokesdale vet to get neutered. They did an excellent job! They also had told me that they had to run so test just to make sure he was healthy, and the test came back and showed that he had 2 different types of worms. Without them running this minor test we would have never known and we would have lost our little zipper because we had no idea. The test my be a little on the costly side but its worth it. over all we spend a little over $300 and now he is doing great. I would recommend this vet to anyone in the stokesdale area, i may even switch my dog from summerfield to stokesdale vet.

I have a puppy boxer shes 7 monthes old I brought her to Stokesdale vet to get spade at around 8:15am the other day. I was called by the vet that afternoon and told she did great in the surgery and woke up and is doing good. I was told to pick her up in the late evening. I picked her up around 5 PM. When I got there she looked very sore, I assumed that was how she was suppose to feel. The whole night she layed around crying in her cage. The vet had told me not to feed or give her water until the next morning. Around 10pm she starts getting sick in her cage she did this 3 times it was all foam looking. The next morning I woke up and gave her some food and her medication she got sick again. I called the vet and told them what was happening, I'm put on hold and then the lady comes back to tell me my dog had trouble waking up from surgery so they gave her an injection of something, I was never told exactly what that was, but this would cause her to get sick. When I was called by the vet the afternoon before I was lied to and told my dog was fine, really they had most likely overdosed her and that was why she couldn't wake up. I would not reccomend this vet office. You are lied to and not treated well when you confront them about situations they can't help you.
