My cat had dental surgery at the clinic in June. I, of course, paid for this upon picking her up. There were no issues during check out. Two weeks later, my cat needed a follow-up procedure to fix an error made during the first surgery, which I again paid for without issue and without complaint. I called the clinic the next day and asked to schedule another follow-up with the veterinarian who had performed both surgeries as she had instructed me to and was told that doctor no longer worked for the company, which I thought was odd but didn't question it. In August the manager of the clinic texted me stating I was never charged for the initial procedure in June. I checked with my credit card company and found out that I was charged but a lower amount than on my invoice. I responded to the manager with that information and asked how she would like to proceed. She never responded to me. I assumed she was just letting it go since it was the company's mistake and because I had to pay for an additional surgery anyway. Today, I received a bill in the mail from the clinic for more than what I originally owed, plus a late fee. This whole situation is completely ridiculous. I was very understanding throughout this process that mistakes happen, but to blame a client for clinic error is unacceptable.

We love The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt!! Everyone has always been super sweet to us as well as our pup Tucker. We have been coming here for a couple of years and can't imagine going anywhere else. Our dog is not aggressive or mean by any means, but he always barks at people and dogs no matter what. The staff has always been understanding of this and either put us in an exam room right away or bring us in and out a back entrance which makes it way less stressful for us as well as Tucker. Amazing care and amazing staff!

Dr. Pierce is awesome. She is so down to earth& personable along with all of the vet techs I have met also. She is always willing and able to speak to me. My puppy was diagnosed with parvo and they took such good care of him and in less than 36 hours he was eating, and acting normal again. They also took very good precautions so that other dogs in the facility would not contract the virus. I was very pleased. I am so glad we chose to go to this vet!

I took my two girls there for a bath and check up. A thousand dollars later, I loaded two smelly dogs back into my car. I asked for the same Flea and Tick pills I got last time and was told he was promoting a new one. One month later, my girls are scratching again. No ticks but fleas are back I really thought I had found a great vet. Maybe they needed to pay some bills or had a hot date coming up, I don't care. For a thousand bucks, my dogs should not smell or scratch.

I came to this vet after a referral from a friend. I had a truly horrendous experience at another vet and I needed a new vet asap because my dog has cancer and is undergoing treatments. From the first time I called, Gina, the front desk manager, was just wonderful and pleasant. We made a visit for two days later to figure out a plan for Betty's cancer and skin treatments. When I arrived, Gina immediately greeted me by name (had never seen me but knew who I was based off my bulldog) and came around to love on Betty. She and the staff helped me get Betty around since she is soooo stubborn. Then they loved on her while I paid and talked to the vet again. This animal hospital is almost 45 minutes from me but I am 100% ok with driving this far for the service. Dr. Jernigan is a very experienced vet. He spent nearly two hours with me on my first visit and did a thorough examination of Betty. He talked to me about every concern I had and told me in human terms what I should expect and what was wrong. I really appreciated that he kept asking me 'are we accomplishing everything you set out to do here today?' It was very nice to experience a vet who truly cares about the animal and not trying to get every penny from the owner.

Everyone there is very nice. We are new to the area and I stopped by three different veterinarians. This has a big open lobby that is very clean, the outside is well-maintained and nothing smells like pee anywhere. One of our dogs had dental work and the other had ear mites. Our veterinarian gave us excellent instructions including follow-up calls to make sure that both our dogs were doing well.

I was so sad when Dr. Jernigan stopped treating large animals. He was my horses' wonderful vet for years! However, he left me in the very capable hands of what is now Carolina Equine Hospital. To my joy, he then opened The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt! I immediately switched all of my dogs and cats to his practice. Since day one, my dogs and cats have received exceptional treatment, and I have always been treated very politely and with extreme compassion. I had the unfortunate experience a year ago to come home one afternoon to find my 13 year old Corgi splayed out on the deck unable to raise his hind end, lying in his urine. It was obvious that he had had a stroke or something equally awful. I was unable to move him by myself. I called The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt, and they actually came to my house. After assessing my dog's condition, I made the request that they help put him out of his misery. They treated Ray and me with great dignity and compassion, and through their own tears, very kindly, gently helped Ray out of this world. I am SO fortunate to have such good, kind, capable people, from the reception staff to the doctors and everyone in between, go out of their way to help me look after the health and well-being of my beloved animals!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful care our pets have received over the years at this clinic. Dr. Jernigan and his staff are like family and treat our dogs and cats as if they are their own. They go out of their way to make sure our pets receive the best possible care and are always there for us during emergencies, even after hours. I would never consider going any where else and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for not only a high quality facility with a well educated staff, but also a loving, kind, and compassionate group of people that you can trust completely.

I can only make positive statements about this veterinary hospital. To start off, our dog, Sadie, was abandoned at this hospital. She was left there and never picked up. She received all needed care with no compensation to the hospital. It was provided to her because they cared about her well being. We adopted Sadie and she has received all of her care there for the last ten years. They are professional, caring and friendly. She even had an ACL repair by Dr. Jernigan that healed wonderfully. I would recommend this practice to anyone, and have done so many times. I will always appreciate their genuine concern for our pets.

I moved to North Carolina in 2004 with my fiancé and three loving pets. Our previous Animal Hospital was exceptional and we knew it would be hard to replace Dr. McDonald. Like all concerned guardians of animals we did our due diligence and found the exact animal hospital we were looking for. Our family of four legged furry beings has grown over the years and the Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt has been with us all the way. Dr. Jernigan and his staff have gone beyond traditional care and services to help our animals when they were in need of emergency care. I have the utmost trust and confidence in all of the doctors and staff.

I am sure there is a lot more to this story. It is never an easy decision to let an animal go. The doctors and staff have supported animal rescue groups and clients with compassion and care in the past. I expect they are feeling badly, but I do not blame them. Without knowing the details, I can't blame anyone. Perhaps we learn from this and think about concentrating, like the article in the paper today, on helping folks train their dogs so when they let them off the chain, the dog can stay with the original family and stay inside. Let's move forward and help our future rescue/chained dogs wherever we find them.

It was very nice to experience a vet who truly cares about the animal and not trying to get every penny from the owner.

Everyone there is very nice. We are new to the area and I stopped by three different veterinarians. This has a big open lobby that is very clean, the outside is well-maintained and nothing smells like pee anywhere. One of our dogs had dental work and the other had ear mites. Our veterinarian gave us excellent instructions including follow-up calls to make sure that both our dogs were doing well.

The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt is the best in the area. We have had the privilege of Dr. Jernigan and his wonderful staff take care of our dog since she was a puppy. She is now four years old and I cannot imagine taking her anywhere else. We always feel welcome and our dog, Zoe loves to visit!

I was so sad when Dr. Jernigan stopped treating large animals. He was my horses' wonderful vet for years! However, he left me in the very capable hands of what is now Carolina Equine Hospital. To my joy, he then opened The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt! I immediately switched all of my dogs and cats to his practice. Since day one, my dogs and cats have received exceptional treatment, and I have always been treated very politely and with extreme compassion. I had the unfortunate experience a year ago to come home one afternoon to find my 13 year old Corgi splayed out on the deck unable to raise his hind end, lying in his urine. It was obvious that he had had a stroke or something equally awful. I was unable to move him by myself. I called The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt, and they actually came to my house. After assessing my dog's condition, I made the request that they help put him out of his misery. They treated Ray and me with great dignity and compassion, and through their own tears, very kindly, gently helped Ray out of this world. I am SO fortunate to have such good, kind, capable people, from the reception staff to the doctors and everyone in between, go out of their way to help me look after the health and well-being of my beloved animals!

I cannot say enough about the wonderful care our pets have received over the years at this clinic. Dr. Jernigan and his staff are like family and treat our dogs and cats as if they are their own. They go out of their way to make sure our pets receive the best possible care and are always there for us during emergencies, even after hours. I would never consider going any where else and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for not only a high quality facility with a well educated staff, but also a loving, kind, and compassionate group of people that you can trust completely.

Dr. Jernigan and staff of The Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt provide absolutely the best veterinary care in the region! We travel a good distance to receive the best care available for our pet, and are never disappointed. Thank goodness for for Dr. Jernigan and staff. I can only make positive statements about this veterinary hospital. To start off, our dog, Sadie, was abandoned at this hospital. She was left there and never picked up. She received all needed care with no compensation to the hospital. It was provided to her because they cared about her well being. We adopted Sadie and she has received all of her care there for the last ten years. They are professional, caring and friendly. She even had an ACL repair by Dr. Jernigan that healed wonderfully. I would recommend this practice to anyone, and have done so many times. I will always appreciate their genuine concern for our pets.

I moved to North Carolina in 2004 with my fiancé and three loving pets. Our previous Animal Hospital was exceptional and we knew it would be hard to replace Dr. McDonald. Like all concerned guardians of animals we did our due diligence and found the exact animal hospital we were looking for. Our family of four legged furry beings has grown over the years and the Animal Hospital at Lake Brandt has been with us all the way. Dr. Jernigan and his staff have gone beyond traditional care and services to help our animals when they were in need of emergency care. I have the utmost trust and confidence in all of the doctors and staff.

They have always exceeded our expectations and gone above and beyond to help us with some very serious medical issues our animals have experienced. I am sure there is a lot more to this story. It is never an easy decision to let an animal go. The doctors and staff have supported animal rescue groups and clients with compassion and care in the past. I expect they are feeling badly, but I do not blame them. Without knowing the details, I can't blame anyone. Perhaps we learn from this and think about concentrating, like the article in the paper today, on helping folks train their dogs so when they let them off the chain, the dog can stay with the original family and stay inside. Let's move forward and help our future rescue/chained dogs wherever we find them.
