Our Great Dane, Bruiser, was recently diagnosed with lymphoma. The doctors were able to get us in quickly. On the day we thought we would be there only for consults we actually were able to start treatment. We met everyone in the treatment team. They were all very knowledge, friendly and caring. They took the time to explain every detail and were even kind enough to show us around the facility:) We are optimistic about Bruiser's outcome and found comfort in the care we received on our first visit! They care about your animal more than anyone you can imagine. The NC State Vet School treats owners and pets with warmth, love, care, compassion and understanding. They work very hard to gain trust and protect it. We were truly impressed with everyone. The NCSU College of Veterinary Health and Hospital is tops in my book. Our Ruby, the Coon Hound, swallowed a foreign object and it lodged in her small intestine. We took her in on Saturday Morning for emergency surgery. We picked her up on Monday and she has done remarkable. Read Less

I brought my Reba (dog) to the emergency clinic after being referred from a local veterinarian. I had a feeling something more was going on than a possible dental infection her regular vet was treating. Everyone I interacted with at NC State was warm, compassionate, and professional. I was amazed by the level of care and time they took to explain everything. Unfortunately, we did not get good news concerning Reba's condition, but I was so thankful they were able to provide answers. After Reba passed, I left a voicemail letting Internal Medicine know and with Radiation/Oncology to let them know we no longer needed the appointment they were holding for her. A week later, I was surprised to find a touching and personal sympathy card in the mail from the team who took care of her while she was there. We heard several times that NC State was the best place to be, and now I can attest that is the truth.Read Less

When my cat Shaggy was diagnosed with a 10cm thymoma wrapped around his heart and lungs, local specialists said that they did not view him as a good surgical candidate as the CT scan indicated possible infiltration of several large blood vessels. When I asked for a second opinion, they sent me to NC state. It was a 4.5 hour drive but well worth it. The first year students, surgical residents, hospital staff and faculty advisors were superb, their equipment state of the art and Shaggy's surgery went flawlessly- removing all of the thymoma. Shaggy is home, safe, sound and ready to enjoy Thanksgiving! Read Less

My baby boy Loken had to have double knee surgery 6 days ago now and Dr Roe and (Dr) Danielle were so amazing. Back at home I was unable to find someone to help me with the surgery that Loken needed. I started a gofundme to help find a way to get him the surgery. After having Loken seen at two vets and both telling me two different things -even after xrays- I contacted Nc state to see if they could gic us the help we needed. Loken was able to be seen- after a good long 5-6 week wait- and come to find out he did need surgery on both hind legs. Surgery was done the day after our initial visit and I couldn't be happier. I would visit Nc State vet again in a heartbeat after the gentle care and affection and knowledge that we received. Also this was the Best examine Loken has ever received from a vet. I had been complaining for years that vets don't give examines like they used to and they Infact do. Thank you so much Dr Roe and Danielle for everything.Read Less
